Kian resisted the urge to roll his eyes at the sudden defense of the girl, "I meant if you could remember how you were when you woke up if you were injured...things like that. I'm trying to figure this out." It was almost like a puzzle to him to think about it. The hybrid frowned thoughtfully before the next string of words seemed to scream war towards him. She really is defensive about this. He may have pushed her too far, yet seeing her determination to find her memories somehow sickened him. Couldn't she just embrace the second chance at life? There were many things best left forgotten after all.

Still, first things first. If she wanted to fight then a fight it would become.

"How would you feel if someone you loved just suddenly looked at you as if you were a stranger? Forgive me while I try to make sense of seeing someone I almost thought lost to the wilds. Who doesn't even know to be overjoyed at our reunion." Kian replied bitterly, "Honestly, you seem to just be trying to make yourself feel better for not remembering." He shook his head in frustration. "So don't take your frustrations out on me! You always were short tempered and highly impatient." He sighed as if this were the most normal thing in the world to him, "As is I'll help lead you in the right direction. I didn't come from your home area since we met on the road, but I remember the direction that you always looked towards when you were homesick." He would lead her in a direction not opposite from his own journey, but not directly aligned with it either. Just in case she did feel the urge to try and find him after this stunt.

L-l-l-l-l-love?! Cheeks flaring, Rhonann felt even more torn. That felt like a big word to be throwing out there! "Well, maybe I am trying to make myself feel better. At least you know who you are, so cut me a little slack! I woke up all alone days from here!" Snorting again, she whipped around to turn her back to him. Really, who was right to be more upset?! "How do you think I feel, finding out I forgot.. love?"

Lips pursing, she peeked back at Kian over her shoulder. "..Would you mind.. starting over? ..With me? ..Until I remember? ..if I ever do..."

"What if I had gone through this once?" Kian replied quietly before shrugging off the comment, "As it is you're right. I'm sorry. Surely, you must have been so confused and alone to just wake up not knowing anything." Gingerly, he reached out to touch her shoulder, "Forgive me." It must have been rough on the girl. Seeing how she had looked at him earlier tempted his old kindness to reappear, but he still was baffled by her reluctance to just accept things.

"I don't mind." He let go and smiled slightly, "Perhaps though have you considered this?" Kian glanced towards the sky thoughtfully, "What if there's something that you shouldn't remember? Can't you think of this as a second chance at life? You could become what you want, become anyone who you wish...there aren't any past mistakes to hold you back. Not all truths are sunshine and rainbows. Even finding out about our connection only served to harm you." It truly was the most honest advice he could give her. Memories after all could only serve to haunt you and to create connections of affection to weaken you. Just like the scars on his body, not all pasts were quite so blessed. He just wished that this girl would realize that and move on with her life before it was too late and the past came to stop her.

"Still...if you insist on doing this then I have something for you, Rhonann." Reaching into the pouch hanging at his side the hybrid's fingers brushed lightly over decorated runes before he found something else. The tiniest of vials, colored in a rose hue, that had a decorative symbol on in. Grabbing the vial, Kian handed it towards the girl. "Here, I had a aunt who was good in creating medicines. This one is supposed to clear your mind and help you focus. Perhaps it could help? At least it has a familiar scent for you since it was something I've showed you before." He smiled, "It's basically just an herbal tea, but it might help stir your memory since you used to enjoy her drinks."

She glanced down at the hand on her shoulder. ..Had she held it once before? ..Had it given her a tender touch? A little smirk rose, and she raised her chin playfully. "I might be able to~"

The change in tone of the conversation made her turn around again, fully facing Kian. As he spoke, Rhonann felt her shoulders slump. "I .. did consider that. I want to know what happened, but it's not the air I breathe." Brow knitting, she looked down at her hands. "When you said you knew me though.. how can I not focus on that? The hope that you might give me answers.."

Her eyes slid over to the vial being held out to her, widening slightly. Something that could help focus her mind. She wanted to tell him off for not pulling it out sooner, but she managed to hold her tongue. "Thanks," She murmured with a little smile. Accepting the offering, she gave the concoction a curious sniff. Again, disappointment. Glancing at Kian hesitantly, she quickly swallowed the strange drink. It was sweet, but with a sharp edge. After just a few seconds, she felt a little dizzy. "How long.. does this.. um.. take?" she asked as she braced herself against a tree.

"Good, don't let it cloud your life." Kian nodded towards her, "The life you have now is it. Even if you knew your past, you can't change it." That much was true. Even if he forgot his own past, nothing would change...he would still be a lost soul without his other half. The faintest shadow flickered across the hybrid's gaze before he faintly smiled, "True, I suppose having a bait before you is hard to ignore." Hope was such a foolish dream. What could it do but tempt others into even worse traps? It was such an easy idea to manipulate...

As she started to stumble the hybrid reached out to take her in his arms, "Not long at all, unfortunately." His previously gentle expression turned ever so sinister, "Let me tell you that secret I promised, Rhonann." As he gently placed her against the tree, he brushed a hand through her hair. She was a pretty thing, that he would give her. It was a shame that her mind wasn't as sharp, "The truth is...I lied." Those may be the last words she would remember from him as he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and left her against the tree.

It was a simple herbal concoction, good for helping to put one to sleep. It could give her focus with the strange dreams it possibly would summon as the past tended to reflect deepest in the subconscious mind. The thought brought a small smirk, "It's best to just look forward, girl. The past is nothing to hold onto, it'll only make you weak." Kian took a few steps forward before pausing. I suppose I don't need this anymore as is. A few moments later he truly left her alone, but when Rhonann awakened she would find herself under a stranger's cloak. It was his final gift, along with the gift of strange dreams that he had left behind.
