Behind These Damaged Walls

Ashral followed Leukos back into Hexxis' room, she'd been quiet the whole time back, as soon as the door was locked she turned and kicked the chair over that had been sitting at the desk, holding back a yell in anger. She trudged over to the bed, taking up the pillow into her hands and ripping at it, tearing into it as fluff fell out here and there onto the ground. Anything to release the anger. She then paused and and dropped what was left of the pillow from her hands as she stared at her hands, her expression pained. What were these feelings, surely this couldn't be her feelings. She didn't know how to feel. Yes, certainly that was the answer. Anger welled back up as she shoved her face into her hands. "..okay, not again.." she whispered to herself. "... it's their fault... i did nothing wrong.." she sighed lightly, slumping down to the floor slowly then crawled under the bed.

Leuoks watched her lash out at inanimate objects in the room with tired eyes. He looked back to the door, hoping no one came in, a guard looking in after her outburst and saw him standing there with Ashral crawling under the bed. He sighed and waved at the guard a bit, trying to show it was okay. The last thing he needed was for them to come in and set off Ashral more. He moved to the bed and slowly laid down on the floor next to it and stared at Ashral as she was curled up under the bed with her face buried into her knees. Was she.. crying? He wasn't sure. "Ashral..."

"No, I didn't do it. It's not my fault." she responded, her voice cracking under the pressure of her emotions. "I don't even know them.."

He hesitated, a concerned look on his face, the Ashral he had talked to over the last three days was apathetic, uncaring, and unwavering. Then why was she hiding under the bed like this, something felt off about her. "Why are you under the bed?" he asked calmly, just trying to understand what she was doing.

She lifted her face slightly to look at him, her eyes at the brink of distraught tears. "It's safer this way. It's familiar." she seemed to ramble off.

"I don't.. understand. Ashral, what are you hiding from?"

She narrowed her eyes in pain and curled up more. "It's okay... I'm okay."

He sighed and just watched her as a flicker of confusion drifted over his face for a moment. "Hey Ash... who's Shogu?.." he asked softly.

She paused, halting all movement as she then began to crawl back out from underneath the bed. She came to a stand, her head lowered as her hair fell over her face. "Hey Leukos... what games do you like to play?"

He pushed himself back and came to a stand as Ashral came back out from the bed. He then blinked, caught off guard by the question. "Uhm.. I guess I like running. Maybe freeze tag... or tag in general." he answered, unsure of what he was supposed to say in that instance. He was more than baffled by her actions and sudden changes in mood that he stood watching her carefully. "...what games do you like to play?.."

"Hide and Seek."

He eyed her carefully, unsure of what to expect now.

"It's both exciting.. and terrifying." she answered suddenly, still keeping her gaze to the floor. "I'm going to lay down now." she spoke blandly then moved to the bed and laid down, her eyes open as she stared at the ceiling. "He's someone very important to me... But that doesn't matter now. He's gone forever."

He moved to sit next to the bed but the Ashral grabbed him, pulling him up onto the bed next to her.

"Sleep. I'm not going anywhere..... I'll even lay perfectly still."

Leukos was hesitant but it only took a matter of minutes for his eyes to begin to fight him to stay away. "Please.. don't hurt anyone."

Her eyes flickered with a sense of deep pain. "I didn't hurt anyone....." her voice wavered as it seemed like she might cry. ".....I didn't hurt anyone...." she repeated softly to herself then blinked with a slight gasp as she snapped out of a bit of a trance, looking to Leukos. "I won't... I promised. And I always keep my word."

"...that's... good..." it wasn't long before he was fast asleep.

All the while, Ashral lay there motionlessly looking up at the ceiling as after a few moments, she began to sing quietly to herself, the words not in any language that could be recognized as she rolled to her side and idly put Leukos' hair while he slept, her song in the same melody that Hexxis hummed often when she was by herself.

Liability
[[After "Waking with the Sun"]]

I was deceased at some point as Ashral has said, later confirmed by Tri. The new recruit Kage (also know as Kylar Gatt) was responsible for the escape of renegade prisoners Andy and Blaise. Tri said I was held captive and was injured in a car crash from a command given by my brother, Ree. As to be expected, sacrifice my existence to bring down the dangerous bounties at all costs. However, the renegades took my body, revived me with the help of my malice, Ashral, and a boy named Leukos.

The oddest part of it, Ree tracked down my dead body. I do not understand why he would come for a me after giving the order to kill me. Peculiar.

My heart is still weak and I am confined to recovery. Tri comes often. At first, Ashral was threatening to take over, but then I have commanded her to cease her antics. An ultimatum. One she had seemed to accept. A relief to say the least.

Tri promised not to leave.

Yet, I know that he is leaving to accompany Colonel Mara at a Parley with the renegade leader, Zaku Shiori. I am more than worried about this. However, I am assured that he will be back in one weeks time. I already know that I will not be able to sleep knowing my father is out there in possible danger and I am confined here unable to help him. Partly because of Ashral, partly because I am still just a child. It motivates me to train hard in hopes of becoming stronger. I want to be older. I don't want to be treated like a child anymore.

But then, if I'm not a child, am I only fulfilling their goal? Will I just become the weapon they created me to be? Do I have any other options?

I hope Tri comes back safe. I dont want to be alone anymore.

Shogu's Song

♫ There was once a crow, that shook down one day on me, the dust of winter snow, from a large billowing tree. It gave my sad heart, an odd change of mood, and saved some dark part, of a day I had once rued. ♫

♫ There was once a cat, that spoke to me one day, we had quite a nice chat, about the chaos and disarray. It gave my soul a reason, to find a way to keep moving, to find a place called Eden, where the flowers were always blooming. ♫

♫ There was once a dog, who walked to a lonely place, covered with a haze of fog, he fell too far from grace. He sat quietly alone, no one to share his guilt, he fell away to dust and bone, in the grave his remorse built. ♫

Fragile
[After "In The Grey"]

Ree stared quietly at the ruins of a partially buried freight station. At some point it had been erected during the Great War but now dirt covered this area in an odd illogical mound encompassing only the station and the tracks around it. Of the main building only the broken roof could be seen and the darkness below, around there were hints of freight containers slowly being unburied by the rain through the years, showing name of companies that no longer even existed. It looked pretty desolate but there were hints of movement here and there near the main building, dirt roads paved flat by what seemed to be the passage of vehicles and sighs of excavation efforts all around containers themselves. Likely there were squatters of any race living here or even one of the more organized crime rings/ companies attempting to salvage what they could from that time.

Ree blinked and shook his head, glancing at Ash quietly then back. "They haven't reached the edges yet....this way " he muttered quietly pulling back into the strip of green that had currently grown through the years around the mound. He lead the way downwards away from the main station, looking around for a landmark as he walked.

Ashral followed silently, using levitation to make as little sound as possible. She kept watch, eyes darting back and forth as she made sure there was no chance of ambush, determined to not let Ree get hurt again. She perked to look at him as he spoke, breaking the silence. "Mm." she hummed lightly and nodded in agreement. As he moved, she stayed close. "What are we looking for.." she asked in hushed tone, keeping focus on the terrain now.

"Landmark " he smiled faintly, trying to walk quietly but there was always the soft scuffle of his shoes landing on dry leaves, making a soft noise as he walked. "Broken tree and two boulders. This area isn't that big so we just have to wander un- there we go" he motioned up ahead to the trunk of a tree, the main part no where in sight while two boulders sat seemingly haphazardly as if they had been thrown there and looked ready to tilt and keep on tumbling. They were both full of ivy and moss, the sun barely ever hitting them during day light hours. "And.......here" he moved to the first Boulder. And took 5 steps from it and phased down into the ground.

Some minutes later he flew back up and solidified, holding two large packs and a worried and hopeful look as he lowered himself back to the ground. ".....Second set is gone!" He dropped both packs on the ground looking excited as he knelt down, looking for something, pulling out a solar battery pack and a dead phone. "......darn it!" Not sure why he expected it to be charged...but he did.

Ashral watched as he phased into the ground, she grabbed her arm with her other hand as she shifted her weight and looked around as if to stand guard, but it didn't look like anyone would be near where they were. After a few minutes, he flew back up and she tensed up for a second, gripping her arm tighter as she then relaxed. She watched him with a slightly puzzled look as he dug through the bag. She frowned as he cursed, "Someone else was here?" she asked then took another look around, before looking back to the thing in his hand. "What's that.."

"Yes! Tri. " he sounded happy then frown at the phone and pulled out the connection cable and pushed the pack into a bit of sunlight. "There is an empty freight container under here, we had these things stashed here encase SIU turned on us. he frowned, the excitement dying down slightly as he glanced up at her quizzically. "This?" He looked down at the phone in his hand. "A cell phone." he looked at her confused before realization dawn on him that she was Ash not Hexxis, so she wouldn't know? "Once it is charge it lets me talk to someone else who has a similar device as long as I have the number, no matter the distance."

'Tri was here? That means he's alive.'

Ashral blinked for a moment, releasing the grip on her arm to grab the phone and look at it. A peculiar device with numbers on it and a blank display. Ahh, she had seen something like this very briefly when they were at Spectrum, the doctors would use them like the comms and they would get in trouble for it. She barely understood it, but his explanation was enough. A communications device. She handed it back and nodded. "Electricity. Maybe you can charge it at a safe house."

'We aren't far from one. It should be a mile south from here. Roughly 15 min walk.'

"Hexxis says if we go south, we'll find one. About 15 minutes." she relayed the information, watching him while taking a deep breath, reaching to grab at her arm once more.

"Safe house?" he looked at her confused, safe house meaning many things and he wasn't grasping which one she was talking about. "One of the renegade houses?" He frowned faintly and shook his head, "What is that is the one they are actually at?" not that he wouldn't love to know where they were at but then what? And if they weren't, there was always the worry.

But Tri came here he must be okay, likely escaped or was never captured in the first place and jumped but was injured? To many assumptions. "This will charge it in about 30 minutes..not full charge but hopefully enough for a call .." He muttered poking the solar powered power pack he threw into the sun. "That specific one changes sunlight into electricity ..and then that sends it to the phone."

Looking back up at her he watched her grab her arm. "Are you okay?" Sounding concern as he put the phone back down.

Ashral looked down at the pack and nodded. "I see. So we wait." she spoke, understanding his intentions. She blinked with a slight bit of confusion as he asked her if she was okay, "Yeah, why?"

Ree nodded while watching her carefully. "I don't know, you seem worried? Not that there isn't a whole bunch to worry about but ...was there something in particular on your mind?" He might have just let it go on anyone else but with Ash...that might turn to something dangerous later on.

She didn't seem to understand where the question was coming from, "I'm fine.." she answered, looking concerned that maybe he knew something she didn't. Letting go of her arm she smiled and sat down, dispelling her sword and sighing. "Everything is okay, isn't it? So I'm not worried. I'm.." she paused and looked out to the ruins in the distance then back at Ree. "At least I'm not alone."

Ree nodded slowly but looked satisfied as he sat down as well. ".....hm. Going from Hexxis memories. Is there somewhere you would like to see? Or something you would like to see? Either of both of you?"

Ashral paused, she didn't need Hexxis' input, she already knew their answer. "We were never outside... Neither of us know of the outside world besides the places we had been confined." she sighed and moved to lay down next to where he was sitting and looked up at the sky. "This is as much as either of us have ever seen... We don't have big dreams or goals.. just to experience anything that's different from what we know. It's what connects us." she explained with a faint smile, as she shifted her eyes to him. "That's all we could ask for." Hexxis had remained silent, agreeing with everything that Ashral had said, though a twinge of a more negative feeling lay below the surface that quickly faded once more. Ashral sighed as her eyes traced the clouds above them, almost a look of fascination and longing in her eyes.

Ree chuckles and looked up as well. "Well..you're getting a lot of experience now. So.... If you want to know something just ask? " he glanced back down at her and resisted the though that passed through his head, she would likely be offended than realize he was playing. Then ...there was also the other questions he had...how she died...did she remember anything between dying and reappearing in Hexxis, what did she do before she died? All of them were questions he was curious about but didn't have a good oppertunity to ask...and before calling Tri was not the best time either...especially when she seemed happy.

"......eh going to try" he leaned forward and grabbed the phone, looking unsure before shrugging and turning it on and holding his breath.

Ashral slid her eyes to him and sat back up, watching him mess with the phone, turning it on. She seemed curious but also a little worried. Remaining silent, as she waited for the result of his communication with, hopefully, Tri.

"It's on!" Glad it wasn't a smart phone that would want a bajillion updates by now, he pressed the only number on speed dial and waited.

Tri poured hot water into a packet of ramen noodles and covered it moving back to the bed to wait and maybe take another nap. Eyes were slowly sliding close when the phone hummed and he pulled himself up reaching out and flipping it open. Glancing at the number he frowned...resting his finger on the answer button but staring very intently at the number before just answering and waiting. Silence.

Ree blinked as it sounded like someone answered but there was nothing there? "Hello? " pulling the phone back to make sure it connected and didn't just die in connection. Nope it was there ..barely. "Hello?" This time he sounded more nervous.

".... Did you do it?"

Ree's eyes widen as he shook his head caught off guard by the question but it sounded like Tri. "No! ....I ..ported and raised my shield that was all. I don't know where the sword came from..." The excuse sounding weak to his ears but he really had no clue, it didn't even pass his mind Tri would ask that the moment he answered the phone.

Ashral narrowed her eyes as Ree began to speak, already piecing together that Tri was asking accusatory questions about parley. She remained silent, however, moving a hand to place on his to reassure him.

"......." He got up and shifted the phone to his other hand, listening carefully to the changes in Ree's voice. "Your fingerprints were found on the sword " he responded coldly, putting on his shoes.

Fear and worry flicker on his face as he tried to think of what to say that would convince him, wings slowly lowered completely until they touched the ground. He glanced down at Ash at the light touch then quickly looked away. Not wanting her to see him confused and frighten. Guilty as well, but not because of (Criel). Taking a breath he shoved it back, Tri would listen to reason so he just had to think without worrying just focus on telling the truth. "I pulled the sword out of his chest to heal him. That was before the fire fight that broke out in the room. They, I assume renegades since Michael shouted coordinates and the shooter stated firing at me as if they knew where I was. I also noted he was taking coordinates the old fashion way and muttering the numbers to a comm before arriving to the room. I did not teleport (Criel) there, I did not kill him "

"...." He went cold, damn it. "Where are you?" Tri muttered, eyes narrowing as he finished tying he shoe.

"Freight station. At the trailer" Ree replied simply, his heart beating faster.

"Is Hexxis with you?"

"Yes"

"Then wait there" he cut the call and closed the phone with a frown. Opening it again as if to text but closed it instead. Mara didn't need to know.

Ree pulled the phone away and looked down as he saw the call had been cut and the power was blinking. "He's coming" his voice dull as he connected the phone back and stood.

Ashral watched his face, trying not to show alarm. Tri was coming. Was that good or bad.

'It's good, Ashral.'

Ash wasn't buying it though, and exhaled heavily. "More waiting." She kept a steady gaze on Ree. "If it's okay, I'd like to stay until we know this isn't a trap." she retorted bluntly then softened her gaze, "I just want to make sure you're safe." Taking one more deep breath, she moved her hand to the ground next to her. "The least we can do is rest in the meantime..." she motioned for him to come sit next to her, though she didn't exactly expect him to with everything that was going on.

He looked flustered almost telling her it wasn't a trap but ... it could be. Would it be? Straight and to the point sounded like Tri and coming here and getting them... he could easily teleport them anywhere else within a mile radius, but he wouldn't do that, would he?

Glancing at her he looked to where she motioned and shook his head, moving to walk to the packs and open one to put the collar he took from Hexxis inside as well as the dart he was carefully carrying in one pocket. On second thought he left that one where it was and just out the collar inside before getting up and pacing.

Tension

A few minutes later Tri lifted up out of the shadow of one of the trees and turned to look at them with a harsh gaze. Eyes flickering between the state of their clothes and the stiffness of the dried blood on it to their faces and finally down toward Hexxis's neck with a flicker of alarm.

Ashral had frowned and just let Ree pace, remaining quiet as she messed with blades of grass, pulling one and trying to make noise with it like her brother had shown her once before, but she didn't remember how to do it anymore. As Tri emerged, it caught her off guard as she tensed and moved her legs back to a low kneeling stance, ready to summon her sword and attack if needed. She narrowed her eyes at Tri, her heart beginning to beat fast again. She looked to Ree with a look of concern, swallowed hard and spoke a very soft and calm tone. "...red.." she waited to meet Ree's gaze before nodding like a signal that she would try, just staying where she was and not moving a muscle as she shifted her gaze to fixate on Tri, like a cat ready to capture prey, watching his every movement with a burning intensity like she was seconds from pouncing.

//Red ...// he turned sharply to look at Ash, his heart pounding as he tried to figure out what set her of- shoot. Moving toward Tri he stopped and look back at Ash, not wanting to send her away but not going to give her the okay to attack. She looked....to be holding herself for the moment but that wouldn't matter if she still wanted to kill him by just seeing him. "Do you want the collar now?" He said calmly moving to the packs and crouching down slowly looking between them

Tri on the other hand held very still, his gaze traveling between Ree and Hex- no Ashral and back. Slowly his shadow lifted up near his feet in the shape of a cougar, a predator, one that hunted woodland areas like these ...one who didn't have to fear the lone wolf. The shadow laid down in front of him and flicked its tail..a distraction but not a provocation. Tri kept his eyes on Ashral as he listened to Ree look through the packs. He was disappointed...he thought Ree would me smarter than to loosen the only thing helping to keep control of Hexxis and the Malice. He wasn't to sure that this wasn't a trap still, no matter how they looked.mSo far the only thing that prevented him from shadowing at that moment was that Ash didn't attack and Ree sounded worried.

Ashral just stared at Tri intently, tensing a bit as a shadow lifted from the ground. She instinctively summoned her sword, and stayed still. Taking one deep and steady breath, she tried to calm her heart. Her hands were shaking, one hand on the hilt but not drawn as she watched the cougar laid down. Ashral could hear Ree rustle through the bag and ask if she wanted the collar. She wanted to prove herself, but that may prove a more difficult task. Her breath was heavy as she closed her eyes for a moment then forced herself to lay her sword down next to her, opening her eyes to continue staring at him. "If I put on the collar... I won't have as much power to stop him. Do you trust this isn't a trap enough for me to put it back on? Because I can't guarantee anything at this point. If he makes a move.. I won't... I can't hold back with him.... I'm sorry, Ree." she spoke calm, like she was desperately trying to fight back her own urges, doing good when Tri didn't move. She stared at Tri, almost not blinking as she focused on only him, and not the cougar at his feet.

Tri continued to hold still even as the cougar stopped moving when she lowered the sword. There was a faint look of confusion on his face as he listened to their interaction and watched the intense look on Ashral's face but said nothing. Getting the feeling everything was barely held together by a string as Ree pulled the collar out of one of the packs.

Ree pulled the collar out and held it against him as he looked between them, gave Ashral's words some thought. Yet the look he gave Tri was one of pain instead of suspicion as he turned away and moved to Ash, wanting to move between them but not sure that won't set her off either. "At some point trust is just that blind leap of faith where you are not sure if what you are throwing yourself at will hold or will fail. Yet you still believe with all your heart that it will hold, sometimes even against all logic." There was a pause as he swallowed "Tri won't do anything without proof... " he didn't look back at Tri, but looked at Ash. "I believe that, I have seen that " his wings lowered to the ground in emotional pain. "I can at least trust that. " he heads up the collar as if waiting for permission. "Thank you for offering me your blade in protection...."

Ashral had been holding focus until Ree began to talk, as he spoke, she blinked and her face seemed to soften as she then looked to Ree, listening to his words. As he finished she nodded, a smile surfacing for a moment as she came to a stand and the sword dispelled. She turned to him as she closed her eyes. "Then I trust it too..." she took a steady breath and stayed still as she waited for him to put it back on her, she assumed by phasing, as she braced for pain if he wasn't exactly accurate about it, but she trust him completely. "...no.. thank you ... for trusting me..." she whispered with a faint smile.

Ashral missed the look of surprise then sadness as he watched her that faded into a smile as he moved the collar against her neck then phased it angling himself so he could see all the way around. Using the tip of his fingers on the outside edge he adjusted it until he got it as close as he could before solidifying with it, eyes wide.

Tri still didn't move watching the whole thing in confusion, wondering how the world went crazy in the past few days. Ashral.... acting so unlike herself. Ree trusting her...and she him.

Ashral held her breath and stayed perfectly still as he phased the collar back onto her, wincing only slightly as it solidified, but it seemed to have worked. She kept her eyes closed.

After a few moments, she opened her eyes and they were red and blue again, her hand reaching up to touch the collar, a sigh of relief escaping her lips as she then slid her eyes to Tri and they widened very slightly. "...Tri..." she whispered, taking in a stifled breath as she slid her foot forward but hesitated seeing the cougar and then realizing that he was probably still on guard from Ashral being there that she didn't want to startle him. Still, in her mind, she wanted to just run to him, hug him even, just know that he was real and affirm that he was alive and okay. She suddenly noticed the bruises on his face and the burn mark on his cheek as a hint of pain in her blank eyes, already questioning what happened to him in her mind.

Ree relaxed when there was no indication of pain. "Good?" He asked watching her touch the collar then look up at Tri...Hexxis.

Looking up at the shadow arc then back he took a step away and let out a breath.

Tri watched them emotionlessly, both the shadow and he tensed when Hexxis took a step toward them. Grateful when Hexxis stopped he didn't have to deal with the confusion of either pulling away from Hexxis or hugging her.

"You let Ashral go....and she let you collar her again .." There was a flicker of confusion on his face, was almost certain Ashral had some control on Ree when he saw her without the collar. "Hexxis? The whole situation ...can you explain it to me. What has happened..what you are feeling? " he glanced up at Ree who looked confused, his black and blue wings lifting then lowering again. A good sign.

Looking back at Hexxis he watched her as the cougar disappeared into the shadows, but made no move to approach them. It hurt deeply having to second guess their words even their intentions but he couldn't assume that it wasn't a plot or plan from either Ashral or Ree..so he asked the only person he knew who was more or less always truthful.

Hexxis watched Tri's confusion on his face, hearing him question Ashral and Ree, knowing exactly what he was thinking. As he asked here to explain, she nodded. "Ree came to SIU to retrieve supplies and did not plan to break us out but decided last minute that he should do so anyway. I did encourage him, however, so I am partly to blame for his reckless behavior on that front. He had explained that parley did not go as planned in the worst scenarios and you all were separated and that he explained he was being framed for the murder of a city leader. I helped break out the other two kids at first. My argument with Ashral led to being shot. She took over and killed to soldiers and maimed another. She also fought against Kae in a sword battle in front of Lieutenant Colonel Asriel." she kept her emotionless gaze on Tri as she spoke, explaining everything she knew up until this point, "Ashral was able to escape with the help of Kae and Zira, although she chose to leave Leukos and Melody behind. Zira had saved Ree from almost dying and being captured himself. We were taken to a safe house which we discovered was a renegade base and found a map with many more like it that I have memorized. During our stay to rest, Ashral and Ree talked a lot. About their pasts and family and the song that Ashral and I sing at times.. mudane things, really. Ree asked Ashral to be his sister, saying that if you could bring me into the family without asking him, that he could too bring in her into the family." she paused for a moment, thinking about other things that had been said.

'Don't you ******** dare, Hexxis. You were supposed to be asleep! You weren't supposed to hear any of that stuff!!'

Hexxis sighed, moving away from the topic of what they talked about after that. "We rested after that and I had... nightmares. In our panicked state, Ree phased the collar off of me. They decided to keep it off for the time being. Ree was cautious enough to keep a tranquilizer on him. In my opinion, it was too much of a risk, but it worked out in their.. our favor. We were attacked by armored units and Ashral maimed yet another soldier. That's how we arrived here, and now they don't know whether you are here as a trap or out of genuine concern for their well being. Trust is... fragile."

"As for how I feel... I am fatigued, but able to continue moving. Mentally, I am apprehensive about their relationship as I feel it is not on equal ground. The metaphor being that one could easily slip on uneven terrain. Though, I am sure they are both aware of that and still continue on regardless."

Ree twitched wings lifting and flaring slightly then lowering at the mention of the two death and the maiming. "Hexxis! ...." He hissed softly but sharply, staring at the other meta in both disbelief and exasperation. She wasn't supposed to blurt -all- of that out, he assumed he had Ashral to thank when she moved away from the topic before touching on the other thing but...raawwrrr!! Really? Tri did not need to know even half of that ..nope.

Tri looked even more confused as Hexxis went on. Confused and exasperated while watching Ree's body language, especially his wings which he had yet to learn to control from showing his emotion. Satisfied he looked back at Hexxis and starting to shake his head in amazement as it lined up with what bit Mara had been able to scrounge up. An truly utter mess and they were both alive only because of Kae and Zira ... That he had to keep in mind. And ..........oh goodness....no.

"You adopted...a malice?!" He blurted and stared at Ree intently, trying to see any hint of pink in that white hair because he was almost certain they were somehow related in stupid situations like this.

Ree turned to him and frowned, wings lifting a bit defensively. "Yes" narrowing his eyes as if daring him to say anything.

"...." Narrows his eyes back. "Later" he warned blinking in confusion at the sudden relief instead of anger...oh.

"I agree with you, Hexxis. I am apprehensive as well... But they seem to have at least have gain some god-only-knows understanding in each other that is making what shouldn't work...work. " and he saw it, he couldn't deny there was a change in Ashral and a confirmation in her hatred for him. "So for the time being, to avoid even more ...misunderstands and deaths " he looked at them both. "You should come with me... It's not a trap. SIU is after all of us since Parley ..." He looked at Hexxis. "And you for stolen property " a grimace since that was the same on his warrant to. "You managed to find the renegade safe houses...I would like a map of that later...am I good in assuming you were hunting for me with them?"

Ree looked flustered then alarmed and finally worried, wings lowering again as he looked at Hexxis. If he left her there they wouldn't be looking ...but it would only have been a small time before Ashral just considered the contract broken and or they did something to them without Mara there. "Looking for you and Mara. I found lightning strikes and glass near the trailer and ozone. I assumed you were captured" his said curiously, eyes moving to the bruise on his face and the burns, but no other indications of damage from the way he carried himself....and the collar was missing...

Tri frown raising his hand up as if to either touch his face or neck but stopped. "They let me go. Mara is back at the base but she is not in charge. She will deal with helping Melody and Leukos escape. Kae is also missing." He took a step toward them now and waited to see their reactions. Their words the exhausted look on their faces combined with the blood on their clothes...He was incline to believe them. Their story was a mess...an utter mess which made him more in line to believe them. Either ways he wanted them with him....he didn't want to have to second guess his family.....he might have even done it even if Ree had purposely killed (Criel) if there was a good enough reason. His family wasn't big but that was what he was most loyal too... Including putting them in the right path if needed.

Hexxis slid her eyes to Ree as he hissed at her, her expression never changing as she blinked, then shifted her gaze back to Tri. He was suggesting they go with him. She didn't even seem phased at the insinuation of her being property, as she was. She nodded as he asked her for a map later of the bases. "I can draw it, or mark it on a map." she commented bluntly. She listened to their exchange, moving her gaze back and forth as she then landed on Ree. "We should go with him, brother. It is advantageous for us to stick together." Without much further explanation, she began to move toward Tri.

Tri watched her and relaxed, holding his hands out slightly if she wanted a hug. It was automatic, because he wanted to hug them, take them both away. Be relieved that they still cared even if that trust had been almost broken moments before.

Ree stared after her, wings shifting uncomfortably agains the ground before he finally moved after her and stuck his young out at her back.

"They let you go and Kae is missing?' He looked up again following Hexxis, "do I have to ask why? " he didn't smirk as he might have any other day, he jus watched him tiredly.

"... I don't know why they did. Zaku is odd...and Mara mentioned Kae's disapperences when she woke up. No one seems to be looking... So we will where we can. She saved you two..the is the least we can do"

Hexxis resisted every urge to start running as he offered a hug, only walking straight into his arms like she wasn't going to stop, wrapping her arms as far as they would go. She closed her eyes, just happy that the physical touch of his jacket seemed to be the only thing that soldified how real he was and that he was okay. She took a few moments before releasing again, her face still expressionless as she turned to look at Ree, her hand reflexively grabbing onto Tri's jacket. "Zaku healed me when I was deceased, and let me go as well. Even suggested he stay with me until SIU arrived to retrieve me. The other members convinced him otherwise.... However, I do feel he is very out of the ordinary." she mentioned to Tri. She nodded as he suggested they still look for Kae or at least keep an eye out for her.

Tri smiled cry faintly and bent over to returned her hug, mantling his wings over her protectively for as long as the hug lasted and pulled them back. Feeling more comfortable as she pulled on his jacket, as it it was right. "Zaku? How do you know that?" He glanced at them both, and the odd look Ree was giving him. He extended his middle wings out to the other meta and waited silently.

Ree took a step forward and brushed wings with him, not jealous of the hug he gave Hexxis. Hugs were just awkward between them. "Ash sent Hexxis the memories she had of that moments. " he said quietly.

Tri frowned faintly "She was dead?..." Something none of them had been able to explain up to then.

Hexxis nodded. "Yes, Ashral was able to pull my soul back with the help of Leukos. Ashral was still able to hear everything that happened during that time. She let me listen to it all in her memories." She explained. "Ree took notes of important key points."

Tri looked down at Hexxis seriously, looking at her duel colored eyes for ..something and not finding it. "... You three go into the metaphysical and lose me there " he shook his head, just glad it worked even if the implications were staggering as well the the shared memory. He wondered if it worked in the opposite way as well....was Ree actually right? Or was Ashral just doing this because of her self bounded contract? She was working along with Hexxis...

Looking at Ree he nodded faintly, brushing wings back "I would also like to see those encase there was anything we missed." before he motioned to the packs and waited. "Ready to port?" He glanced at them both while Ree's packs hovered up to him.

Hexxis gripped his jacket tighter, stepping closer as she looked to Ree then looked to Tri and nodded with a faint smile.

"Yes yes." but there was still a faint smile of relief and worry as he stepped closer. It didn't mean things were finished but at least they had a better ground on which to stand. It was sad to see how fast they could doubt each other....that was something to keep in mind from now on and see what can change it. Moving closer he pulled the packs to them.

Tri smiled faintly and shadow jumps them twice before reaching the hotel room he had rented.

An Error Has Occurred

"Hexxy.....Hexxy?" Ree muttered going glancing at the bathroom door then aclove with the sink.

Hexxis was laying on the bathroom floor, staring up at the ceiling. "The door is unlocked." she spoke in a robotic mutter. Her eye open red eye slid to the door within her view as she exhaled slowly, her face expressionless and unreadable.

Ree blinks and walked to the door only to stands outside uncomfortably. ".....Um That's okay. I can wait to tell you once your done. No hurry "

Ree moved back to the bed and spread out his wings to the fullest before crashing face first.

Hexxis stared at the door and blinked slowly. She closed her eyes for a few moments, reluctant to get up from the floor.

'What are you doing?'

"...It feels nice."

'You're weird.'

"And you are dead." There was silence, then Hexxis opened her red eye and came to a slow stand. Looking in the mirror, she looked like a mess. She took down her hair and wiped her face then exited the bathroom. Standing in the hallway with a blank expression, she stared at Ree laying on the bed. "I am... done."

Ree lifted his top and middle wings to observe her from under the arc.".......you need a new change of clothes ...and sleep " he muttered before his brain kick started. "Sorry, Uh Tri called" he pushed himself up to a sitting position. "He wants you and Ash to know that Haven is after both of you. There are orders for a transfer if you are caught. Experiments that deal with golden alters, soul separation and item removal. Also to be wary of a mercenary called Zephyr Kardos? " he blinked and leaned over to grab the tablet he was doing research on before he fell asleep. "Says he has a website. Wants us to memorize what he looks like so we can avoid him "

Hexxis had a flicker of emotion, relief and anticipation as Ree mentioned Tri but it quickly faded. She listened intently to his words, "Who is Haven?" she asked quietly but further information pointed to the answer. "..another facility.." she muttered.

'..item removal?..'

"...soul separation.."

Hexxis moved closer to the bed and sat on the edge, watching him. "Zephyr Kardos." she repeated, memorizing the name. As he grabbed a laptop, she held out a hand to take the tablet so she could see the picture. "What level is appropriate if I am forced to engage him?" she asked in a monotone voice, as she stared at the tablet in his hands.

"Haven? Ya another research center, if anything it is what most people consider to be the main center devoted to studying metas. Of course with them studying and butchering can be interchanged. They don't use metas so much as try to see how they tick until they die. " he frowned watching her repeat the words. "Soul separation might sound like a good thing but if they are researching it..it's not because they found a fool proof way or even have anything other than curiosity" he frowned remembering a lot of the files he read on the true race experimentations.

Handing over the tablet he watched her and shook his head. "Tri said he was a meta and maybe unpredictable....So level 2 all the way up to ash if need be? I think Tri said it more for you to run than fight"

Hexxis seemed completely unphased as he spoke of Haven butchering Metas for experimentation, as she simply nodded lightly at the comment about soul separation. "Very logical that they have not perfected it, find test subjects. Highly likely why my project would be transferred. High sought after since I am confirmed to have a Malice." Her eyes were focused on the tablet, scrolling through the information and taking note of the picture, it only took a single glance for her to memorize every feature of his face. She also took note of the list of places he normally frequented that was proudly displayed on the page. Nightblubs, Taverns, Pubs. "Mm." she acknowledged with a hum as she passed the tablet back. "Run first. If all other options exhausted, use level 2 to 5 as situation escalates. I understand." she confirmed.

"Yep....that's likely the reason" he said undisturbed by her lack of reaction, just as long as she knew and understood. She was very similiar to Tri in these cases or himself sometimes. Watching the back of the tablet and the soft glow on her face from the light he stuffled a yawn. "We should fine somewhere safer to sleep" wondering if she had slept at all since arriving and doubting it after the reaction last time...both their reactions. Taking it back when she handed it to him he glanced down at the page she was looking at. "...huh, well darn can't take you club hopping. " he smirked faintly before she confirmed the order. "Oh...use 5 directly if you really need to. It really depends on the situation and if a quick offense will allow you to survive " he frowned. "Also he found Kae " purposely leaving that for last even if he didn't think it would affect her to strongly as it did him. "She is at the Renegade house. Injured by haven...Maybe broken mentally as well" the tiredness faded as a hint of anger seeped into his voice.

She merely stared at him, possibly unamused or maybe confused as he mentioned finding somewhere safer to sleep. She was silent for a bit until he made a joke about club hopping. "I was hoping you would take me to a bar so that I can experience what is like to slowly poison myself with liquid meant to make me happy but in truth is a depressant. I find the topic interesting." she responded in a monotone voice with no indication of emotion behind it as she seemed completely serious about her statement. She moved on from the subject after blinking at him blankly for a moment., "Access level commands adjusted. Direct to 5 if needed." she spoke robotically, turning to face him completely. He spoke of Kae and she remained silent, possibly thinking or just waiting. Then she spoke, "Hostage?" she shook her head. "Unlikely........... But by who?"

Ree stared at her and started to laugh. "Oh goodness.." He snickered and pat her with a wing. " So cute! Out of all of us...Mara is likely the best bet to take you out drinking. Depressant or not. If you wait a while she likely won't even get angry by the scientific facts because she will drink until you don't make sense " he grinned. "Except you might have to wait until you can at least pass for an adult and not a kid" not sure if she was kidding or not, so he took it the playful way...and it was cute. At least until she pulled the topic back to Kae, but this time he just looked worried. "Haven. They had her even so they shouldn't have. She's a True Race ....they are protected now...unless they really didn't care for the consequences as long as th were able to question the mother of metas" putting the tablet down he shook his head. "Tri will contact us if he thinks she needs saving. Other wise he will likely come back home when he is done and fill us in himself" a faint frown as he reached up to play with the crystal that hung around his neck absently. "How...are you feeling?"

Hexxis listened to his comment about Mara taking her drinking and that she'd have to pass an adult, a very faint smile of amusement on her face before that too faded. As the topic was on Kae she nodded in understanding. "...mother?.." she whispered softly almost thoughtfully then shook the thought. She exhaled heavily as her expression stayed dull as he asked how she was feeling. "At the moment, I feel regulated. I do have one concern. Earlier, I felt anger. My throat hurt and I had an urge to punch something very hard." she explained plainly. "It was for only a moment, but I have never felt that way before... then again, I have been feeling a lot of new mental states. I don't know if that is something you can help me understand or whether you comprehend what I am trying to convey."

'You are so freaking weird... You do know, you're not a machine, right?'

Hexxis frowned only slightly then sighed, turning away. "Nevermind, I have the feeling maybe this is all too personal."

Ree watched her and let his smile drop even if it was hard as he leaned to look at her. "Anger? Do not compute. Unit has calculated 98% chance of error in Hexxis-Unit self-diagnosis. Emotion chip not available with Hexxis-units... Warning warning 78% chance Hexxis-unit is a fake. Warning. Desist all communications, do not wish to be infected with abnormality. Anger and all subsequent emotions will not be tolerated by the Hive " he said trying to keep a straight face but was already smiling by the end it out with a mischievous look in his eyes before holding his hands up, "Sorry sorry ..." Still looking amused and not at all sorry. "So you were angry. Normal emotion for you to have. What were you angry about?" Ignoring her try to avoid the subject now.

Hexxis stared at him blankly as he spoke, seemingly mocking her though jokingly. She didn't seem bothered or phased. "I am not a unit or a hive. I am an experiment... a project for Meta weaponization." she shook her head a bit, "It cannot be computed as an abnormality when there is no standard for processing. Although, I was conditioned to not feel such excess of emotions. So it is something that would understandably cause alarm or at least intrigue." she listened to him apologize, and she nodded in agreement. "I do not know what I would have to be angry about. It was when you are Ashral were talking about where we would like to go. The feeling was sudden and faded as quickly as it had surfaced."

"......." Ree sigh softly "You were conditioned because long ago you actually felt emotions strongly just like any of us." he motioned to himself then waved at the rest of the room. "Now, that conditioning is starting to crack a little here a little there. That is a good thing. I won't say it will change who you are at your base but it has started. Like your sudden interest in cooking, your application to taking on Tri's last name and your sudden feeling of anger. It shows you are growing and healing, because a weapon is just a thing with none of that. Its function is to be used when needed then stored for another time, it has no will, no desires, or goals. You were hatched a person, not a weapon. You are supposed to experience all of those emotions good and bad...you are the Handler of the weapon not a weapon for someone else." he rested his arms on his knees as he leaned forward. "So... I think you felt anger maybe even jealousy. Am I sure? Nope because I am not Hexxis, that is what makes you you. Your ability to decide or even not to, to feel,to remember, to strive. It is your soul and weapons don't have that. So...think about it. Were you angry because you wanted to go somewhere? Or be with someone or wanted something else all together? Hopefully it wasn't just to punch me ..." He smiled and lifted his hands slightly in playful surrender.

Hexxis paused, listening to him talk, explaining how it was normal for her to feel emotions, trying to break down the conditioning of her thought process of how she viewed those emotions. In the end, she didn't fully understand what the feelings were, but hung on to the idea that she was supposed to experience all of those emotions, good and bad. She blinked at him, dull-faced as she absorbed the information, nodding in understanding. "I do not fully comprehend but I understand the concept." She tilted her head slightly as he suggested anger or jealousy. He began to ask her why she was angry. Shifting her gaze away, she thought for a moment. "I was angry because you and Ashral are very close. It is a possibility that I desire closeness to others, while conflicted by my desire for isolation that I had grown so accustomed to. Perhaps, a strange concept, I want to feel more emotions, experience anything new that I can just like Ashral said, but I have apprehension for what might come of those emotions. Could that hinder my ability to think clearly as it had for you? Will I make mistakes and cost others their lives? I had a lot of time to think on those questions and yet I still find the answer is unknown." she looked at him, a slight frown on her face. "Part of me complies to the weapon I was raised to be, the other wants to know what it's like to run until my lungs give out and not out of fear for what is giving chase, but simply because I had wanted to."

Ree watched her silently wincing at the mention of his own mistakes and thinking clearly. That he couldn't answer for her at all "Maybe in 30 years yes..you will be changed from what you are now. I can't tell you to be the weapon or be the person. Other than to learn to put on a mask.one will be the person the other the weapon..either they will mix or they will stay separate. You are trying to b the person..I am trying to learn to be a weapon. " he said quietly, pain in his eyes. "Someone else would say to strive for living without fear for doing what you want...but at the same time. We're not human. We don't have the luxury to choose. We are hunted or hunting ...or we die "

Hexxis expression softened a bit as she smiled faintly. "I understand now." she took a deep breath and looked to the floor. "I want to find the line between both. Experience all that I can, learn all that I can. However, I know what I am at my base, and unfortunately, that is a weapon. Yet, I know that not all weapons are bad. It's how they are used that decides their purpose." she smiled a little more then scooted over and laid down with her head in his lap. "I just want to live."

Ree blinked in surprise before it faded to worry as he ran his fingers through her hair in a comforting way. "Then just live....and forge your own path" blinking at the odd wording that came to mind but it fit. Slowly he relaxed and let a faint smile reach his face, Hexxis worried him...but at least she seemed to have a tentative goal now.

Family

Tri pulled up out of the shadows, headset still on as he reformed and looked around. Blinking in faint surprise as he saw Hex-ash? Resting her head on Ree's lap as Ree would sometimes do with him. "Ree. Hexxis?" He frowned, rethinking this but catching their attention anyways.

Hexxis darted her eyes to Tri who had formed in the room, a small smile on her face as she sat up, "Tri." she came to a stand and move to him, hugging him.

Tri showed a flicker of worry as he leaned down and hugged her. Ree stood up slowly alert as he looked toward the headset. "We're going after her? ...what did they do?" Blue eyes narrowed then soften as Hexxis moved to Tri.

"One of their strongest members hit her somehow....they believed she was dead but wasn't? I want to make sure it stays that way. I don't think they want to kill her ... But Zaku wasn 't in charge of much of what I heard . The others are what I expect of a normal hostage situation. "

Hexxis' smile faded into a deadpan and calculating expression. "Hostage situation. Zaku possible bystander. Rescue mission?" she spoke out to Tri, taking a few steps back and then looking to Ree.

"Yes. A rescue mission. I know where she is held but I didn't fare well the last time I went against the meta that is with her. Michael nor their shadow user Cordellia " he glanced up at Ree. " Added that there is the mercenary ...plus all the other Renegades. Hit and run distractions would suit us best . Enough for me to shadow in grab her and move out "

Hexxis nodded. "Draw them out, play a game of cat and mouse to cause a distraction."

Tri looked back down at Hexxis."I think you should stay here...Ree and I can teleport and we only need a few seconds. If they know your commands you will also be a liability "

Ree frowned faintly "Unless I take off her collar and you stay out of sight. Without it Ash won't be hindered "

Tri glared at him. "...that is a lot more dangerous "

Hexxis remained silent, staring at Tri then Ree. No emotions on her face as she just stared silently, then stared at the floor.

'Let me help.'

Hexxis seemed to narrow her eyes and took a deep breath. Focusing her eyes on Tri, "Let me go. If not to help, but to stay together. If you think it's too dangerous, I can keep my distance and aid if things get too bad." she insisted a determined glimmer in her eye.

Tri looked thoughtful then nodded "That can work, if you stay where I was hiding you can give backup to Ree if he needs it " he looked at Ree carefully and sigh mentally, they still needed more rest but Kae suddenly appearing and being attacked was not something any of them expected. He would have waited until nightfall...maybe even talked to Zaku but he feared that it might be to later. "With the collar on "

Ree shook his head and looked at Hexxis "If she does back me up. It is a big liability and I can't teleport her with me "

Hexxis looked back and forth between them, it seemed Ree was intent on letting Ashral be uncollared, while Tri felt that was too big of a risk, an opinion she shared with him. She tried to think of some compromise but there was hardly one. "I can still run." she retorted. "I am also capable of jumping high. I'm small and dexterous. If I can escape SIU on my own, then I can do this."

Ree turned to her and shook his head. "I am not questioning your abilities...just the commands. Kae had a reason for not shouting out your commands back at the base..but if she had you would have gone to sleep in the middle of a battle..."

"If it was just the Renegades...there would be no problem " he sigh, yea...-just- the Renegades hah.

Hexxis tensed just slightly but relaxed, her cold dead stare at Ree. "Ashral is no different. They have commands for her too." She turned her gaze to Tri, she opened her mouth to speak then hesitated. Shifting her eyes slightly, she then looked at Tri once again. "Do you want me to stay here?"

'What are you doing?!'

Hexxis hummed very lightly, trying to drown on Ashral's voice in her mind, waiting for Tri to answer.

Ree returned it with a hot one of his own "The one for you has been spilled around all over the place " he hissed softly, narrowing his gaze when she looked away.

Tri looked at the interaction between them, his wings and gaze steady. "... I would like you to help him. But to keep the collar on "

Hexxis turned to look at Ree, narrowing her eyes, glints of anger in them.

Tri shook his head "It is a risk but if the mercenary joins in back away with or without Kae. "

"If we are still there when they attack, it has already been to long. Just in and out. Poke the hive and back off Ree. Hexxis..you back him up encase someone jumps out fast and he can't get away. But move them back away from the house. "

Hexxis shifted her gaze to Tri and nodded. "Understood." She glanced over to Ree, a twinge still in her eyes before they softened slightly and she faintly frowned then looked away.

The anger didn't leave Ree's eyes as he looked away and to Tri. "Backing away isn't exactly the easiest thing to do with the cream of the renegades after you pissed off or what ever. Teleporting saved me multiple times at Parley, Hexxis can only run and hide ..and if Blaise I don't know decides to burn half an acre of forest in a flash? Do we go oops then? "

"Yes...Teleporting is also why you are now hunted by every city on Teraterra. Stay or come. Decide. She saved both your lives so I will repay that for you whether you help me or not. What you are suggesting is a massacre by allowing Ash out uncollared. Maybe not of you or them but at least of those she can get close to " he stared at Ree wings lifting slightly in anger.

Hexxis narrowed her eyes while staring at the ground, instead of anger, there was pain. Visible and unguarded. She sighed and walked off to the bathroom and shut the door, locking it and she slid down against it, sitting down as she pulled her legs up to her chest and rested her head on her knees as she wrapped her arms around her legs.

Ree blinked and his wings lowered slightly before lifting again. "I also ....." he turned to watch her head into the bathroom and close it as the lock snapped into place. "....."

Tri narrowed his eyes at Ree angrily. "Seems she decided for you. " he shook his head. "Let's go "

Tri reached for the comms that were charging and tossed one at Ree who caught it silently.

Hexxis just stayed quiet in the bathroom, just trying to think, waiting for them to just leave. She just wanted it to be quiet again.

After a minute or two there was silence.

Placing the Blame

Hexxis waited until there was silence in the room before coming to a stand.

'Why did you do this?! We should have gone!'

"We are a liability. We are only going to keep getting in the way."

'You're crazy! What are you doing?!'

Hexxis unlocked the door and moved to the front door, opening it.

'Hexxis! Stop!'

She frowned and looked back the room. Sighing, she moved over to the desk and began to write a note, before then leaving the room and walking off down the street, sticking to alleyways to stay hidden, just trying to get anywhere. She knew of a few safehouses in the city that she could stay in until coasts were clear enough to keep moving, just trying to get out of the city for now. Less eyes, less chances of being caught, less of a liability she was to those she considered family. She headed south, just continuing to move, never once looking back.

Out on Your Own: Week 1

Night 1:
Made arrangements for a place to stay. You'd be surprised how unlucky someone can be. People drop their wallets all the time, it's not so uncommon. Ashral has been telling about how stupid I am being. I am protecting them from me... From her. I just don't want them to fight over me anymore. Maybe if we separated... No, I have to keep her here so I can protect them. She can't be allowed to leave.

Day 2: I woke up to a phone call from the front desk asking if I was okay. I was screaming in my sleep. I think Ashral is making me have more nightmares to get stronger. Its possible. She won't be silent today. I took the day to rest.

Day 3: I woke up in the middle of nowhere just outside the city. It seems Ashral can take control while I am in sleep mode. I will just have to elliminate that process. I returned to the city and found a library. I've begun research on emotions, as well as spirits, combat, weapons, relationships, and cooking. I think I will continue to come here and learn all I can during the day. Tonight, I will look for someone.

Day 4:
I woke up again in the middle of nowhere, further away this time. I suppose I will have to cease sleeping all together. I can't let her get back to them. As expected, that person was not at the designated location. No matter, they will contact that person. Just need to wait. In the meantime, I have found a coffee shop that sells hot chocolate. I ordered some but couldn't bring myself to drink it. My eyes watered at the smell of it. It hurts my chest to think about it. Though, I have the desire to order it again tomorrow, even if I don't drink it.

Day 5:
I have asked around town about the person I'm looking for as it seems they are very interested in [the words are scratched out]. I do not understand, so I will research that today in the library. I also found a job posting board for very similar jobs that the mercenary has listed on his website. I have decided to take on a few of them. It will be a better source of income than stealing finding wallets.

Day 6: I will be going back to the designated location tonight. I assume that person will be there by now. In the meantime, I have sewn myself some new clothes since I have outgrown my old ones by now. Ashral is still angry that I am keeping us away from Ree. She called me jealous. I agreed with her and it only seemed to make her more angry. She will not speak to me directly now. That is fine. She is not my friend.

Day 7:
I found him. Ashral is very unhappy with me. She is talking to me again, and will not stop. No matter, her voice only bothers me when I read. I rode a motorcycle today. So many new experiences and I don't want them to stop.
Note to self: Apply for mercenary card.

Out on Your Own: Week 2

Day 8:
It was prematurely revealed to my contact that I am not the person I said was. He knew. I took the mercenary test. I was disappointed to not get a perfect score, but it was very close. He was impressed.

Day 9:
I saw him having an intimate conversation with someone else. I do not care what he does. He does as he pleases. However, it doesn't mean I don't have urges to hurt him. He doesn't care. Interesting.

Day 10:
Ashral has been oddly quiet today. I asked her what was wrong and she said she heard voices. She wants to leave because she thinks we are being watched. She says that we are in danger. I am unsure whether this is just a ruse to get me to go back or not. I will keep my guard up just in case. I want to dismiss her claims, but something about her panicked voice is unsettling.

Day 11:
Ashral has been silent, despite my attempts to talk to her. No matter. I am being taken someplace today. New experiences. I'm curious. I strangely don't feel scared. Like everything is perfectly fine.

Day 12:
He has a very nice singing voice. He told me he really likes it when I sing as well and suggested I do it more often.

Day 13:
He showed me a movie. Called it a musical. Where they play out scenes of a story like in a book and on the occasion they sing to portray their inner or outer dialogue. It enhances their emotions to the viewer. I liked it. I especially like the one song he sang to me. It plays on repeat in my mind and I don't care that it does.

Day 14:
It has come to my attention that I very much enjoy his company. He's nice to me and knows when to use force. I want to stay here. Experience everything. Learn from him. I think... I will drink the hot chocolate. I should stop wasting the money, even if I have plenty of it now.

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place
Suddenly it moves with such a perfect grace
Suddenly my life doesn't seem such a waste
It all revolves around you...

Out on Your Own: Week 3

Day 15:
Sometimes I wonder what Tri and Ree are up to. I tend to stray away from those thoughts as it makes my chest hurt and my eyes tear up. Just as well, Ashral gets angry about it. She pushes as hard as she can to surface. She keeps threatening to separate from me, but I will not let her.

Day 16:
I have sewn a nice dress for a mission tonight. I feel it's construction is fairly sturdy and it is comfortable to move in. I want to show him the dress. I'm proud of it.

Day 17:
-left blank-

Day 18:
I messed up. Ashral is gone. It almost cost me my life. I've been told I should team up, maybe that will be safer than taking on solo missions. I had to tell him about Ashral. He was not okay after that.

Broken

A grin formed across her lips as she gripped the throttle and turned it harder. Faster, much faster. She desperately wanted to let down her hair and feel the breeze rush faster across her unconfined face. This was the best she could do, whipping in and out of the street as need. Her hair was in a very nice updo, something she had help with. The long red dress she wore, sewn by hand, but you would never know it from it's expert craftsmanship. She still felt a little awkward not wearing her eye patch, actually having to give some effort to not reflexively closing her left eye out of her own unease. No matter, she just needed to complete the mission and get back home. He would be waiting for her.

'I'm tired of your games, Hexxis! I want to go home!!'

"Enough, Ashral, I grow weary of your constant nagging."

'Then let me go!'

"You know I cannot do that."

'Yes you can! Let me get back to Ree!!'

Hexxis narrowed her eyes in annoyance as she sped off out of the town.

About 30 minutes later, she arrived at a very nice, massive event center, lit up with colorful lights. Loud music blared on inside as people gathered around outside and there were hundreds of more people inside. She pulled up and parked the motorcycle, stepping off it and scanning the area before putting on a mascarade mask and making her way inside. She made her way through the crowds effortlessly as people danced or stood around and chatted. She analyzed the faces of the people she passed for some time before growing confused that she could not find the person she was looking for. So many faces, it was hard to pinpoint just one. Ah! There he is.

She forced a fairly believable grin and moved in for the kill. She approached him slowly, his attention already set on her, a grin of his own meeting hers.
"Well aren't you a beauty to behold? What's your name, doll?"

"Ashral."

'What are you doing?!'

'I don't know, it just happened. I want to go home.. I'm scared.'

"That's a pretty name, how about we talk somewhere where it's not so loud?"

Hexxis smiled with a glimmer of amorous intent as she nodded and was led by the hand carefully through the crowd and upstairs to a secluded penthouse room. "What will you have to drink?" She hesitated slightly but smiled, "Whatever you have." she responded quickly. He made her a drink and handed it to her, carrying a drink of his own as he came to sit next to her on a lush red couch. She sipped at the drink slowly, trying not to get drunk from it. She needed her senses to complete this mission. After the man had consumed a few drinks, he was talking a lot and laughing, trying to impress her with his personal successes. She smiled and nodded. "And what do you do for a living, doll?"

"I don't live."

Hexxis tried to hide her concern why Ashral kept having the power to interject her words into the conversation. 'Stop.'

'I'm not-... I don't why that keeps happening... Please, let's just go, Hexxis. I don't want to be here anymore.'

"I'd rather you call me by my name..." she commented with a soft face, trying to keep a handle on things, having a slight idea why it kept happening, she focused on keep Ashral's personality at bay, her heart rate increasing from her nervousness about it.

"Oh, come on, I thought maybe someone like you would be all over pet names, what with a collar and all. How about we stop talking and get to a little more intimate conversation... What do you say, doll?" he leaned closer into her as he kissed her, wrapping a hand up around the back of her head. Hexxis was getting nervous, not because of his advances, however. No, she had anticipated such actions, it was part of the mission. She had planned on all this happening, but Ashral was shoving forward in her mind hard now, trying to take over, her breath quickened and her heart was pounding in fear. 'Ashral, stop!'

There was silence in her mind, just pushing as hard as she could to surface and Hexxis was concentrating hard on pushing back. The struggle setting a panic in her mind as she tried to keep it together.

Pain.

Lots of pain.

Her heartbeat was so fast it was causing distress as it beat out of control. Swallowing hard, she tried to focus on it all. Focus on pushing Ashral, focus on calming her heart, focus on pleasing him, focus on completing the mission. No, too many things at once, her mind was racing and her heart wouldn't not stop. She was shaking slightly as he pushed her down across the couch, laying on top of her.

"How about you take off the mask, doll.." he whispered. One final shove, as she was there, there with her. Her eye was turning dark as she shut it as tightly as possible. '..no. No, Ashral, stop!' Her hands were moving and she wasn't doing it. 'Ashral!! Stop!!' The mask was coming off, her face exposed as she struggled to keep control. The man hadn't noticed from her stoic and unmoving face, the turmoil that lay beneath in her mind as he kissed her again, biting her lip as Hexxis just kept with it. Maybe it would pass, then she could kill him. She just need to keep him from talking just a bit longer, to stop using that name.

"You're still so stiff,... how about you just let go.. hmm? Have a little fun, won't you, my little doll..."

Hexxis winced as she clutched at her chest, the pain only increasing as her heart rate continued to climb against the force of Ashral's power. "Ashral, stop!!" she exclaimed out loud as she pushed even further, opening her eye to show the black scelera that represented her inner self. Silent, staring, complying.

"s**t! You're a Meta?! GUARDS!!" the man screamed, jumping back off of her in an angered panic. Hexxis double over in pain, trying to get up but only falling to the ground, grimacing and coughing. A whimper escaped her lips as she felt a sharp pain in her stomach as the man kicked her hard.

There was a ruckus outside the room as she could hear banging on the door and men calling out to the one in front of her. The man she had been with called out back to them as a group of suited men swarmed the room. The pain filled her body as she screamed out, "ASHRAL!!" she shrieked angrily, as she felt like someone was ripping her apart from the inside. Screaming louder, as a figure faded into view standing beside her, looking down at her. A white haired girl with red and black eyes. "...a-ashral... why..." There were gunshots as Ashral turned to look at the men, getting shot in the arm and in the side as she shrieked and dropped to the ground, and phased through the floor and disappeared.

Hexxis' eyes burned with tears at the pain as she struggled to push herself to a stand. Have to get out, forget the mission, just get out. She heard more gunshots as a few of them hit her body, two hitting into her back, and one into the back of her thigh as she screamed and staggered forward, hitting the floor on her hands and knees. She cried out softly as she tried to move but collapsed, just laying there, her heart in so much pain. The man grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up, a noise of pain as Hexxis tried to comply but the pain was overwhelming. He punched her hard in the face, knocking her back down to the floor hard, as he kicked her again, aiming for her face.
"Stupid, b***h, Mercenary!" he yelled out, kicking her again, hitting her in the chest as she choked out a sharp exhale and coughed.

He pulled her up by the collar, growling in anger, only taking out his frustration of being duped out on her.
"I'd kill you right here, but you're too pretty for such a quick death." he motioned to the bodyguards as they approached, guns pointed at her as the man grinned, keeping eyes contact with her as he spoke to them. "Take her out to the middle of nowhere, and bury her alive." he took out a knife and cut some of her hair, handing it to one of the guards, "Send that to the mercenaries, let her be an example not to ******** with me." he shoved her face to the ground and kicked her one last time to knock her unconscious.

It was some time later before Hexxis began to come to. It was dark, even with her eyes barely open, it was pitch black as she strained to move any part of her aching body. Alarm set in on her face as her movement, though capable, was limited, her hands hitting wood as she slid her hands against it. No... no no no no... She exhaled shakily as the realization she was stuck in a box set in. She suddenly screamed out, hitting the walls of the wooden casket as she desperately tried to open it. "ZEPHYR!!" she screamed out, tears filling her eyes quickly, as she whimpered, inhaling deeply as she forced out another scream, thrashing hard against the walls of the casket as nothing would budge. Slowly, her movements died down and the pain set back in with the decrease of adrenaline. A quiet whimper as she slid her hands over her mouth, choking back a sob. "..zephyr.... " Closing her eyes, she just cried softly in the darkness, buried deep beneath the surface of dirt in the middle of nowhere.

A Voice of Reason
[[Some time after "Shakey Recovery"]]

Hexxis stared up at the ceiling quietly, not moving, just staring, resisting the urge to start humming a familiar tune that had always seemed to pop into her head when it was quiet for too long. She had her eye-patch off and both her eyes open, though her left bruised eye still hurt a bit as it was still healing from her failed mission. She reached up a hand to her right eye covering it and tried to see from her blind eye to know avail. Wait, was that light... no, just more darkness. She sighed and closed both her eyes and pulls her hand back down as she laid there silently.

Zephyr was dozing, face first, on the bed, still shirtless as he didn't feel like putting a shirt back on after the entire ordeal. Why bother if something was going to happen to a perfectly good shirt, anyways? Opening one eye, he watched Hexxis, wondering how he was faring, but at the same time not wanting to pry. 'I don't know how we'll ever be the same after what just happened...when you grow up with someone inside of your head, you just sort of get used to it..' he thought to himself, soon closing his eye before slowly rolling onto his back and yawning softly. They had a strange, yet mutual, agreement to rest and heal up after everything, considering it was one hell of an escapade.

It had been so quiet since Ashral left, a vacant feeling that was more than a little unsettling, a feeling she'd never thought she'd never feel about her Malice, but here she was. She sighed as she just remained still, until she heard Zephyr's voice, assuming he was just talking to her, she opened her eyes and focused on the ceiling again with slender eyes. "It will be difficult, but we must grow accustomed to it. As I told you before, I understand the feeling... in that we have some common ground." She turned her head to look at Zephyr. "As the saying goes... at least lightning does not strike the same place twice. That is a lie, but it is to mean that the same thing will not happen twice."

Freezing, Zephyr opened his eyes and turned to look at her again, a little shocked that she had responded to something that he just thought about. "Wait - how...did you know what I was thinking?" He asked hesitantly, now a little worried, and even a bit scared about what just happened. Sure, here were the usual 'oh I was just thinking about it too' things, but that...was a little too scary.

Hexxis stared at him, blinking slowly through an expressionless face. "I heard you speaking to me so I responded to you... I don't understand your alarm." she seemed confused. Was he not talking out loud? Maybe it was a foresight that he did not realize he had been speaking out loud. She wouldn't know, her eyes had been closed.

Slowly moving to sit up, he just stared at her, soon squinting, as he decided to try something, just to test a theory that was gnawing at the pit of his stomach. 'You should maybe look at me more, your face is beautiful.' as he thought the words, he put a hand over his mouth, deciding to see if the theory was right or wrong.

Hexxis watched him carefully, unsure of what game this was being played until she heard his voice but not seeing his lips utter the words she heard. Her eyes widening slightly as she too sat up, before realizing what he even said as she shift her eyes away for a moment and turning a slight shade of red. She then stared at him, her face softening a bit. She opened her mouth to speak but paused and closed her mouth. 'Your face is beautiful as well..' she thought, see if he too could hear her. This phenomenon intrigued her but also gave her an odd feeling in her stomach like something moving within as her breath quickened just slightly. Was this... anxiousness? or excitement?.... fear?... or possibly a combination of the three. She watched his face carefully for a reaction, almost waiting on the edge of her seat in anticipation.

Zephyr couldn't help but grin as she turned to look at him, though her response got him to chuckle a little - though it instantly dropped when he realized what was going on. They could sense eachothers thoughts, something that he himself was resistant to, "How...is this even working?" he said aloud, now very concerned about it all. Was it because of their sudden lack of malices, or something else? It was definately something that the needed to figure out.

Hexxis shook her head, a smile growing on her lips. "I do not understand how this has come to be, but I don't dislike it. I'd rather hear your voice in my head than hers.." she commented aloud as she moved a hand to rest on his. "What changed between us besides both of us losing our Malices in relatively close proximity of time?..." she pondered as she analyzed the data but couldn't come up with much past her initial statement for a reason why it was happening.

"There's always a chance that during the entire ordeal I might have, on accident without knowing, used a power that I shared with him, causing this to happen? I know that if i really focus on a soulgem, I can sort of talk to the person inside of it." As he spoke, he gently squeezed her hand, happy that he wasn't alone in his head for the time being. It was empty and, honestly, scary.

She nodded slowly, grasping a vague understanding of the power he spoke of. "I see, so it is possible that may have created some form of telekinetic link between our minds..." she analyzed verbally, trying to commit the information to memory. She nodded once more then smiled at Zephyr. "At the least, it is with you. I would not have chosen any other person to share my mind with willingly." she leaned forward and kissed his cheek lightly then withdrew to stare at his face. "Maybe it is what they call a 'happy accident' ." she looked like she might have laughed about it but merely continued to smile as she exhaled and thought for a moment. 'This might work to our advantage, to be frank. If we must focus on being in sync for a team test, then this occurrence has come at a very opportune time.'

Compromised

I waited as long as I possibly could to write about my experiences beyond the daily workings of my life. I have to write, even if it puts me in danger to do so. I will never know.

I haven't the faintest idea where to start in my thought process. I suppose the moment in which I noticed something was wrong. My realization for odd occurrences in my mind began the warning signs that would ultimately lead to my own panic. I had spoke to my brother of an unexplained want to punch him when he spoke to Ashral even if I still don't have the slightest notion why. He called it jealousy. I didn't think too much on it then, but perhaps I should have, I could have possibly been able to stop what would come next.

I watched my father and brother argue over me, and over Ashral. I suggested we stay together as a family, but they both found me too much of a liability to accompany them. Ree seemed extremely insistent that I go with them uncollared and thus allowing Ashral to take over if she saw the need. If it had been just Ree and myself, I would not have found this a problem. However, Tri would be there, and I simply could not chance such the high probability that she would turn on him and attempt to kill him just as she had multiple times before. It felt reckless of him to trust her so unconditionally. Something that I still do not understand. He has only known her for a few weeks and already he is infatuated with her it seems.

There is the urge again. This desire to scribble out this entry and simply throw this journal against the wall with as much force as I am capable of. Am I still jealous? It simply does not make sense. I do not feel it is the emotion known as jealousy.

I digress.

In that moment, I began to feel things I could not explain. My chest hurt and my eyes burned. The sensation was overwhelming and my thoughts became out of my control as I did not understand why I could not go with them, despite the fact that I had previous understood completely only seconds prior. I locked myself in the bathroom and fought with Ashral about my intentions. I felt as though if they truly wanted to leave, they simply could. The heated conversation was unnecessary and my involvement was only increasing the building animosity between those I call family.

It became silent. Not just in the room, but in my mind. My actions from that point forward were a complete blur as though someone had deleted the memory of my processes. An odd feeling. Before I realized what it was that I had done, I was back in the city in which I was born. In the place that housed the research facility known as Spectrum. It was at that point, I had wanted to turn back, but even then, I simply had no idea how long I had been walking and even so, why I had walked so far. Did I have the intention of leaving so suddenly? And for what reason? Why here of all places?

I was concerned about why I would act as such without thinking about it. These urges that I had, they were becoming increasingly uncontrolled.

It was at this time that I pieced together the dreaded notion that I was acting off of some programming that Spectrum had implanted in my mind. No.. I knew the truth in that, something I was forced to forget. The reason why Haven possibly wanted me. I... no We were controlled entities. We were their weapon. Something they would eventually want back. But how could they guarantee we would come back of our own volition one day. Yes, this would be it, wouldn't it?

Now I begin to question everything I've done up until this point. How much of it was my own thoughts, and how much of it just a program that I subconsciously followed. There was a possible way to find it out. Seek out someone from Haven. A contractor. Convenient that I would know of exactly one and where that person would frequent. It would only be a matter of time. Tri will have to forgive me for disobeying his orders... It is necessary. I must know.

In the meantime, I wonder what other commands there could be. What commands were there that Ashral had mentioned existed. It is disconcerting the amount of things I do not know. What was our purpose? Was it to hurt others like Ashral does? Why was she so focused on Tri?..... Would I do the same eventually?

There are far too many questions as I begin to wonder what words could cause a very undesirable outcome. The last thing that I desire is to lose control of myself while in the presence of someone I care about... such as Tri or Ree.

I wanted to tell them. I still do, but there is no way that I can safely convey this dangerous circumstance without possibly triggering something that could cause such events to happen. So now I feel compelled to force myself as far away from them as possible to protect them, despite my growing conflicted feelings about the issue.

I just wanted them to take me. I just wanted to be a family. And now I'm not even sure if I'd kill that same family in a subconscious mission to pursue someone else's goals. I hope to figure this out as fast as possible. Maybe then... we can be a family again.

In the mean time, Zephyr volunteered to help me experience more things in my life. I allow certain things while slowing down others. Maybe there is a way to break this programming just as Ree said. I am careful, but the thought of meeting Tri causes increased heart rate and an odd desire to reach my goal faster than what is feasibly safe. I want to see him.

I want to apologize.

Can I even do that?

I feel... scared.

Warning Signs

Hexxis walked down the street and paused for a moment, putting her book away and making way to a payphone. She looked around to make sure she wasn't being followed as she pulled some change from her pocket and slipped the coins into the machine, pulling forth the receiver and dial a number from her memory. She decided to call Tri first, Mara would likely yell and she wasn't exactly used to talking with Mara in a way that was effective. Maybe Tri could talk to her or at least tell her how she should go about discussing the text message she sent earlier in better way to her. She sighed as it rang, keeping a sharp look out just in case as she waited.

The phone was answered but there was silence on the other side other than the very faint sound of someone walking and stopping then nothing more.

Hexxis waited a moment, listening for a voice but heard none. "I was able to leave without being followed. I am unsure now whether I was his target or not. Though, I have reason to believe he has changed targets to my partner for the time being." she relay quietly, her voice calm and emotionless. She waited again, waiting for any confirmation from the other person on the phone.

"Was Andy anywhere in sight" Tri responded quietly back and the slight shift of feathers over feathers could be heard as he pulled them away from his head, phone against his ear as he watched Ree give him a questioning look.

Hexxis exhaled in a bit of relief as she heard his voice. Taking another quick look around, "Negative. He appears to be alone. He brought me the item I was to retrieve in the mission I failed, which has led the notion I was his original target. My partner and I split up to further test his intent, yet it seems he stayed behind to talk to my partner instead of pursuing me." she kept her voice low, as she focused on speaking directly into the receiver. It was odd, and she simply didn't understand Kage's motives, but what she could not find out, Zephyr definitely could.

"......He's stalking you or is he looking for Zero? Last we heard of him he disappeared with Andy and the renegades." There was a pause. "They might be looking to hire you"

Hexxis nodded despite knowing that he could not see it. "It is very possible. As much as I had tried to remain low key , it seems people have taken notice of my ranking and it is very likely news has traveled about it. If Kage was looking to hire someone, it would be very favorable to obtain a top ranking mercenary to do the job." she thought for a moment and was silent, almost hoping there were more thoughts to follow her own but it was silent in her mind as she sighed slightly. "He did not ask me about doing any jobs, though he did recognize me, called me by my name. I did not confirm it with him, but I doubt that would be enough to dispel his assumptions of who I really am. He asked to speak with us both: my partner and I. Also mentioned having lost something recently... I almost certain he was referring to her early departure from my being. It seems that he is able to see spirits. A very dangerous power paired with other abilities that he has displayed." she paused, as she tried not to get too carried away about the issue. Sometimes, she felt she spoke a bit too much but then again, this information was important. Surely, Tri would have wanted to know all this.

"I never talked to him and Mara never mentioned him being the least bit interested in you or Ashral. If he is able to see spirits" he frowned, that was a useful power to know if there was a mane or malice in someone....with Kage's power, locking or unlocking. "I don't understand why he would be interested at all in either of you now that you split. She is now a true race and you are a malice-free meta. Unless he was looking for your partner in terms of information and notice the sudden lack of a malice in passing..."

"I am... unsure. Though, I will be meeting back up with my partner shortly and I will see what further information was able to have been obtained about him. It is peculiar and out of the ordinary. He did not ask about Ashral directly. Only mentioned that he noticed I was missing something of that nature. Possible means of starting a conversation or some form of flexing of his abilities to either show off or taunt me." She took another look around briefly, before returning her attention back to the phone. "I worry that he may be in search of Mara, it is possible that he may have found out about SIU's transfer. Possible revenge? Or maybe he is after Ree. It is very uncertain, and I merely warn so that you may keep yourself aware of it." she hesitated. "Should I contact Mara as well about this?" she debated just going to find Mara in person but maybe that was not such a good idea at this moment.

Tri shook his head at Ree and looked toward Anadii quietly. "No, I can warn her he has been spotted near by. As for SIU, Mara or Ree.. You were the one who ended up with the worst amount of damage that day, their view of SIU, Ree and Mara would be unfavorable but they do not exactly have much reason for revenge. Unless it was Andy, even then it was Kage who made her as she is now ...and could likely unmake her. If she remembers, then she might have a reason to be after us. One specific reason but sending Kage to do her information gathering does not seem like her style, going from her habits "

"I do not know much about Andy, so I could not say myself on the matter." she took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. "Whatever his motives are, we will need to keep a close eye out until his intentions are revealed." she opened her eyes to narrow them slightly, a glint of pain in them. "Are you still okay?" she asked suddenly, her voice a bit more hush, softer, less robotic.

"Or hope that information was the only thing he wanted but doubtful " there was a soft sigh as he looked away from Anadii and closed his eyes instead of meeting Ree's intent stare. "I am fine " he said quietly, it was close to the truth? He was fine as in her was alive. "And you?"

"I am func-.." she paused and shook her head. "I am fine." she responded as well. She frowned, as she didn't like her answer the moment it left her lips, as she sighed. "I redact that statement as I have come to realize that is somewhat of an unintentional falsification and I don't intend to mislead you... I am alive and surviving. Minimal injuries. Any other status cannot be reported at this time." she answered bluntly, her voice falling back towards a more monotone one. She continued to frown, she didn't particular like that answer either, but is was more favorable as it was the truth. She did not want to get into the habit of being dishonest with him. "I am greatly anticipating seeing you later this evening. It is something I have not been able to quell from my thoughts since speaking to you last." she remained quiet for a bit. That was unnecessary information, and didn't understand why she felt compelled to say it anyway. It was a mystery to her at the moment.

Tri frowned with a pain look on his face instead of the normal faint twitches of emotion. "It's been a while since we talked last outside of ..everything " he agreed trying not to bring up the situation that made her leave in the first place. Faint,y confused at the sudden switch between robotic like speaking and normal every day speak. She was learning, that was obvious. Was it because of her partner? Or had she picked up more than he thought when she left. "We've missed you as well" there was a pause as his chest hurt, having to do nothing with the injuries he received. "Hopefully we can talk finally later this evening, we received your directions and I'll be there" he said quietly, already planning on being there earlier to check it out for a trap, but then they can talk and he can see this partner of hers. See if he or she was taking advantage of her...if not, see what he could offer in help to prevent Hexxis from gaining injuries like the ones Mara described.

As Tri mentioned missing her, she reflexively slid a hand to her chest, clutching the fabric that sit just above her heart. It hurt, but not like it did when her heart rate increased too much. This pain felt deeper, more aching than the sharp pain of the injuries. She took a shakily breath and tried to compose herself. She swallowed hard before speaking again. "I look forward to it." she commented simply, her voice hushed as she closed her eyes and exhaled.

Tri nodded faintly and opened his eyes "Then I'll see you then" he said quietly, not sure what else to say that they couldn't say face to face. "Thank you for the warning as well, I will pass it on to Mara just encase"

"..Mm.." she made a noise of agreement. She hesitated, not wanting to hang up the phone as she opened her mouth to say something then narrowed her eyes in pain and frowned. Closing her eyes she sighed. "You're welcome. See you then." she stated bluntly then reluctantly hung up the phone. She slumped slight to one side as she leaned against the phone, taking a moment to collect her thoughts before pushing herself from it and moving back into the sidewalk to make her way to the place they would be meeting up at to start preparations for their arrival later.

Tri hanged up the phone and put it back on the desk with a tired sigh.....thinking before looking up at Ree quietly. "Meeting place is still good. She also said Kage was looking for them ..we don't know why but sending that over to Mara" he said reaching out for the phone and sending her a smilingly innocent text.
