He did not like to chase after people, but he would play her game. It would benefit him in the end, after all, and Wolfeite was nothing if not aware of what did and did not have merit to following through on. Dia was a frivolous sort, but Labyrinthite had picked her for a reason, and he intended to use that to his advantage.

He ran after her, leaping nimbly from building to building, the wind whipping at his face. She was so bright in her ridiculous hair that it was easy to keep track of her, and by the time they slowed down, nearing the shopping center, Wolfeite was hardly breathless.

It was a good choice. Taking someone from the middle of a crowd was much better than taking someone on their own; it was easy to lose themselves in a crowd, much easier, and much more productive to their own needs, which Wolfeite found pleasing.

He stopped above a throng of people and bent on one knee, a look of bright, burning hunger in his eyes.

"Which one?" he asked, and he'd pulled the mask back up over the lower half of his face, his voice slightly muffled.

Scanning the sidewalks, she studied the shoppers as they passed. There were a gaggle of schoolgirls, clearly eager to spend their allowance now that class had let out. An elderly woman holding on to a child's hand, perhaps a grandmother running errands with her grandchild? Bored housewives, impatient people, joggers...

Some of the options looked almost too easy, while others appeared to be too difficult of a challenge for her to bother with. She was almost settled on a couple of stragglers from the schoolgirl gathering when she spotted a young couple walking hand in hand, the girl texting on her phone with her free hand while the boy spoke to whomever with his own device.

A finger shot out, moving along with the couple as they walked. "Those two. One for me, one for you. I'll even let you pick."

Straightening herself up, her hand returned to her side and tugged out a wrinkle on her skirt. Either member of the couple should be easy enough to manage, though it would be interesting to see which one the dark haired man would choose.

"Or would snatching a child be easier for you, Lieutenant?" She asked coyly, the smug grin still plastered across her face, "I'm sure there's a park around here somewhere..."

He watched as she did, his expression half hidden, wind cool against his skin. Wolfeite felt the thrum of the starseed in his veins, the hiss of power that would soon be extinguished once the crash hit - but for now, he had it under control and that was all that mattered.

Dia's choice was a good one. Wolfeite's lips curled up into a smirk.

"The man," he said easily. "You can take the other."

Her comment made him let out a derisive snort. Wolfeite shook his head and made his way over to the end of the parapet, stepping onto it and looking down to follow the couple as they wound their way through the crowds and towards the outskirts of the area.

"Time to go," said Wolfeite easily, and leapt.

Following suit, she hopped down after the Lieutenant, determined to keep him from taking the lead of the situation. She tended to distract the male gender better than the female, but with this young man in question already having a female companion, her feminine wiles and charm would fail regardless. May as well let Wolfy handle the bigger of the two - it would just end up being icing on the figurative cake if the creep bit off more than he could chew by laying claim on the larger of the two victims.

It didn't take long for the couple to weave their way out of the busy shopping center, their intentions soon becoming clear that the duo was attempting to return home from an afternoon excursion. They made it as far as the empty bus stop before the Negaverse agents caught up to them, Dia quick to make the first move.

There wasn't time, in her mind, for any coy pretending. Half of the fun behind stealing starseeds was the game of catching the person off guard or letting them lower their defenses before striking. The senshi had a feeling that Wolfeite never wasted time with games - he seems more straightforward and boring in his power hungry methods. Keeping that thought in the back of her mind, she whisked out a gumdrop and took advantage of the girl's back being turned towards them.

Reaching out, she took hold of both of the woman's hands before smashing the gumdrop down onto her wrists. The candy exploded upon impact, effectively clasping together both of the stranger's arms and keeping them cuffed behind her back. By this point, the startled woman had begun to shriek in surprise, Dia's free hand moving up to muffle the screams while keeping the woman in between her and her boyfriend...who was looking rather angry and confused at this point, himself.

Glancing towards the Lieutenant, the candy scout's eyes said everything: your turn.

Wolfeite liked the darkness and the shadows of the evening; it made it easier to slink through them, to encroach upon the two figures that were making their way across the streets, looking as innocently calm and relaxed as the next person.

A shame it wouldn't last very long.

Dia went first, and Wolfeite watched her with some amusement as she leapt. He followed along, letting her do her thing, dark eyes following each movement that she made until she'd trapped the girl in her arms. It was surprisingly well done for such a pampered princess of a senshi; he'd have to reevaluate his opinion of her.

(Though he still thought her weaker than the Negaverse; that much was a given.)

He stepped forward, calm and collected, and within seconds Wolfeite had slammed a fist into the man's face, the glint of his ring cracking across the bridge of his nose. The civilian gave a howl of anger and pain and confusion, but Wolfeite had already grabbed him by the throat, pinning him to the wall of a nearby building.

Gloved fingers stroked smoothly across the front of his shirt.

"Shall we?" Wolfeite asked airily, without looking at Dia, his fingers dipping into the cavity of the man's chest, where his starseed lay.

It took every last ounce of strength within her not to reveal how disgusted she was at the resounding crack of the man's nose as it echoed through the darkness upon the impact of Wolfeite's rings. The Lieutenant was vicious in his manhandling, shoving the boyfriend against the wall as though he were nothing more than a ragdoll ready to be discarded.

The girlfriend, on the other hand, began thrashing even more violently at the sight of her significant other being tossed and abused in front of her. Dia had no choice but to grit her teeth and use her free hand to burrow within the woman's chest, grabbing at the life essence that continued to give her the power to flail and shriek. Normally, she resisted having to dig within anyone's chest cavity (seriously? Gross.) but the stakes were too high to complain and whine about it this time.

As the starseed was withdrawn, the woman's body slumped unceremoniously to the ground. Dia made sure to take a step back to avoid coming into contact with the tumbling body, mindful to keep her stilettos out of the woman's way. The lamplight above caused a glistening sparkle to reveal itself, the senshi stooping down and taking a brief moment to yank the gold pendant from around the woman's neck.

May as well take another souvenir home, after all.

The idea briefly crossed her mind to toss the crystal at the Lieutenant as a pitying gesture, but she had to dig out the starseed this time and like heck was she going to sacrifice that kind of effort. She also had half a mind to try to swipe his victim's prize, but that seemed akin to trying to take a bone away from a dog. Besides, the creep would probably end up eating it anyways, hmph.

So instead, both the starseed and necklace were pocketed away, finding their temporary home next to the drunkard's wedding ring that she'd picked up earlier. Eyebrows rose as she watched the young man's violent handling of his victim, but she did her best to appear dismissive.

"Not bad, Wolfey."

She adjusted her dress before taking her leave and hopping atop the roof of the building next to them, glancing down to give him a final smirk. "You may just make it to Captain, after all. Maybe your rings will be a bit more sparkly then."

Letting off a short giggle, heels took off and aided in allowing the senshi to disappear into the night - she had no intention of lingering around someone who gave her the heebie-jeebies anyways.

Wolfeite's hand was almost a caress as it slid down the front of the man's shirt, dipping into the hollow of his chest to find the starseed inside. He enjoyed very much this sensation of taking; the civilians were just civilians, after all. They would never amount to much in the end, and their starseeds would help to fuel his own plans.

It was, he thought, rather perfect even if it was not exactly graceful. But Wolfeite had never cared about being graceful before, and he cared little about it now.

Behind him, he heard the thud of something - or rather, someone - hitting the ground, though he didn't turn. His eyes were fixed on the face of the man in front of him, at the way his gaze widened with a mixture of terror and horror as he struggled hard to free himself.

It was a fruitless endeavor. Wolfeite did not give him time to mourn, but instead just reached and yanked the starseed free with as little bravado as picking a fruit. The light in the man's eyes dulled instantly, and he collapsed into a crumpled heap onto the ground as Wolfeite's grasp slackened, no longer caring.

"Perfect," he said airily, holding up the starseed and looking at it hungrily. He glanced sideways at Dia, a smirk on his face as she leapt up and away from him, her pink hair cascading in rivulets down her back. From this angle. she looked like a twisted princess of sorts.

"Oh believe me, darling," said Wolfeite softly, long after Dia had gone and he stepped into the darkness of a shadowed alleyway. "I'll make it to General, and then I will crush this world beneath my feet."

There was a crunch as the starseed snapped between his teeth.
