Nasir stuck his tongue out at Wil for stealing the chicken but smiled afterwards (which meant he was far too used to it and didn't mind in the slightest). "Not really, to be honest. I mean ... you should've heard the stories I grew up hearing. They're not quite like the witch on the beach but they're still really out there."
Leaning back, he wriggled and squirmed himself until he was comfortable on the couch. The rerun they were watching was all most over. "It is but I like it." A smile. "It's why I stayed." It was weird in a good way with all the stories and everything.

Wil watched the TV again with a glazed expression, "I wanna believe it. Even though I think people are generally cheats with that stuff," because he was, "I think it's good to believe something." Like if you walked the streets of Ashdown you'd find another place where it always rained. He hadn't seen it but it made the streets just that more interesting while he was pounding the pavement. He rolled a bit on his side, now legitimately curling his knees up and tucking his toes under Nasir's legs. Even with all his naps he could probably nap more. "We had a call about an interview for the room.." He yawned, "Didn't answer but I texted them. It's a girl. Should be coming by tomorrow." His face rubbed into the couch pillow, "After classes."

"I guess some part of me might want them to be true." Some small whimsical, fantastical part of Nasir that liked all those stories but didn't believe them to be true because somehow that would be disappointing. Belief was a thing he had in people, in himself, but not necessarily the world around him. His attention was back on the television, arm going across Wil's legs whenever toes tucked under his. "Ah, yeah? I've not heard from Zac ..." Legitimately concerned here. "Still going to hold the room for him." Nasir made a face. "Hope this girl isn't like the last one. You know she got all offended that the bathrooms are shared like she didn't already share at the dorms."

"He seemed cool. And he has a cat." Cat's were things he liked, all animals really, but he knew he didn't have the energy to take care of a pet. Having someone else's around was awesomely convenient. "I'm sure he's ok." Wil had squirmed more, this time turning so his head was pressed against Nasir's hip and he was staring at him upside down. "You want me to do a reading?" His brows wiggled and he grinned.

"I liked the cat." Nasir grinned, remembering Mogget and the way the cat had curled around his legs and taken a few pieces of cooked meat from his fingers. "Him too."
He chuckled, hand coming down to poke at Wil's forehead and then tap his nose. "You could. I'm sure it would be interesting." Nasir actually liked the readings Wil did, if only because the way that the other seemed to pick things up was something he had not seen before. Even if it was Wil being so observant. Not that anyone would believe him if he said Wil was observant.

Except Wil's predictions for Nasir were always just different versions of 'your life is awesome and you rock'. Drawn out, detailed, and possibly not accurate, but with Nasir being the nicest guy around, it probably was. "Pick your poison. Tarot reading? Palm reading? Runes??" The truth was that most of those things Wil legitimately knew how to do, but when it came to relaying the result, he sometimes skewed things in his clients favor.

Nasir grinned, fingers tugging at a strand of his own hair as he thought about it. He actually liked watching Wil do all of those things. The other man had nice hands, talented even. Never mind he actually knew the things he was talking about.
For all that people called bullshit.
"Start with a palm reading?" As those were usually the silliest but Nasir liked those. His fortune was always something to the tune of your life is full of amazingess or you'll be making someone a pie later if Wil was being truly silly. Also if he wanted a pie but that was besides the point.
His palm was held out towards the other, dark eyes watching with amusement and interest.

"I don't know why I even offer that.." It wasn't like one's palm changed every day. Usually those ended up with Wil saying stupid things like 'Bet some money on the basketball game tomorrow'. "Your palm looks the same as last week." He did grab his friend's hands and give them a light massage though, that should appease him. "How about tarot? It's a bit more immediate."

" Maaaaaybe because I keep waiting for something different." Nasir chuckled. "I work with my hands a lot. They do change." Still, his hands being grabbed and massaged did appease him even if it wasn't what he was after. In fact he pulled one of Wil's numbers and seemed to go loose-limbed, slipping down on the couch and sliding sideways towards the other. Also not even different than usual. "Tarot is fine," he said after a moment, blinking because he always forgot how much tension he held in his hands and how good massages were. "Haven't seen you throw bones in a while either," he added.

"Well maybe we can do both." Wil continued to rub Nasir's hands just a moment longer before he stopped and worm rolled half off of the couch and reached for a drawer in the furniture serving as a coffee table. A small tie-dye print bag was pulled out as Wil's hips slowly slid from the couch to the floor. The young man's legs eventually joined the rest of him and he pulled together into a sitting position like human shaped slinky. "Ok.." Wil pushed things aside and relit his joint which was held between his lips. Food was moved and drinks, so he could have space. This was when Wil would get quiet and serious. Even if the predictions may not be real, he always treated them like they were. He patted the floor next to him for Nasir to join him and began to shuffle.

"What? Cards and bones? At the same time?" Nasir slid to the floor once Wil settled, nudging him only slightly with his hip when he did. "Probably save that for some old lady or something. They'd like it."
Probably should not be encouraging Wil in possibly nefarious activities. Not that he would stop. Nasir was sometimes a terrible, terrible enabler. He waited, watching as the blonde started to shuffle (sometimes Wil got a little elaborate with shuffling; not always, just sometimes).

Wil chuckled, smoke drifting from his lips and one eye squeezed shut against it. He shuffled only a little elaborately before the deck was set down for Nasir to cut. After he had, Wil began to deal the cards out. "Let's see what sort of glowing future you have."

"Hopefully all good things," Nasir chuckled. It was a simple five card draw: the far past, past, present, future, far future. The far past was the Seven of Cups (temptation and choices, possible deception). The Fool was the past (someone who walked without looking and did not consider their path) and the present was the Eight of Swords (a woman bound and blind, surrounded by swords ...).
Nasir frowned at the cards, at what was laid out. When it went from that to the Six of Pentacles reversed (offers of help may not lead where you wanted them) and then The Tower (there was never anything good about the tower) ...
"Wil ..." he said quietly, touching the last card and looking at him. Usually readings from Wil were funny, humorous, reassuring. Nothing like this. "Not like usual." At all.

Wil's smile seemed to fade with each card dealt. Thankfully Nasir was familiar with tarot and he hardly had to explain. The young man pulled the joint from his mouth, a roach at this point, and sat down in the ash tray. "Weird..." Really bad reads were seldom and this was... especially bad. "Gotta be a fluke right? Let's uh.. try another thing." Wil pulled open the drawer again, though he didn't clean up the cards yet. Another small bag was pulled out. This time with runes. Wil wasn't as well versed but they weren't all that different than tarot. He did a standard three rune draw, finding the results more comparable to tarot with past, present and future. Again he was quiet the bag shifted in his hand and eyes closed. The runes were then arranged appropriately and while his eyes stayed closed he moved his fingertips over them until he was blindly selecting the three that drew him most. Opening his eyes, Wil discovered the results here were equally terrible. "Um."

Nasir wasn't familiar with runes at all, only having a very loose understanding of what they were. So when Wil managed similar bad results, the young man was leaning over and biting at his bottom lip with nervousness.
This was not like any of his readings in the past. This was something else all together. Something dark and negative and the very thing Wil did not usually have in his fortunes.
"This ..." Nasir let himself fall and rest against Wil some. "Never seen bad fortunes in a row."
