xxxSolo - The night life became more complicated.

It had started out as a fairly normal day. Classes at DCU were coming to an end, which did mean there was a lot of studying happening these days. Soon though, it'd be time for summer. He'd be able to get more hours at work, could spend more time out on the river, and there'd be time to spend with friends as well. Things had honestly been starting to look up. Aside from the fact that it looked about to rain all day, it wasn't all that bad.

Things took a turn for the, what should he call it....weird? On his way home that night he was making his way through the park, a rather normal route for him. Who hadn't heard rumors about the crazy cosplaying gangs in town? People held them responsible for all the disappearances in Destiny City. Most large cities at problems with gangs, but DC was the only place where the gangs had weird dress codes. He was half way through the park when he felt a chill and was suddenly fatigued. He didn't normally tire so quickly from his walk home, maybe he should have taken his car today?

He jumped when he heard a voice call out to him and turned around to see...it was hard to explain. He was very weary at first, especially so after a talking cat entered the equation as well. He discovered he had had a past life, but that he needed to awaken a join a war being waged on three fronts. He was told at the time he was joining a neutral faction, that he was making the best choice for his own safety and freedom. Really, he knew if he didn't go with them by choice now, he'd probably be forced one way or another later on. Crocus, Dark Mirror Senshi of Saffron. He didn't care for it too much at first, could he really pull off the flowers in his hair? Acubens was the Senshi of Raptors, how cool was that?

He even had dinner with her that night, not Acubens, but the actual person behind the senshi. It wasn't at all bad, in fact it was fun. She seemed like a well-grounded person (even if she kept repeating "Don't trust no nega-b***h" and awful lot). They were the same age as well, wasn't 19 a little young to be getting dragged into a war? Then again, you could join the army at 18 and even earlier than that you could be a member of the Junior Recruits Officer Training Corps in high school.

There were still many things he didn't like about that night or his stance in this magical war. Acubens herself was new to the Dark Mirror, so she wasn't able to answer a lot of his questions about their court. This didn't make him dislike her, but it did mean he'd have to search for some answers himself. He could go about this different ways. He could look for people in his own court and hope they had more answers. Or, he could do the more dangerous route and ask people outside of his own court these questions. He wondered who he would get more serious answers from. He was worried people in his own court might sugar-coat things, but those outside of it could probably be more harsh. There was also the risk of them attacking him. Well, he'd just have to go out and take those risks.

xxxSolo - Mirrorspace Broke...!

It had all seemed like something Crocus could handle at first. He had heard about a strange crack appearing in Mirrorspace and he actually had Tantalus help him go to investigate when he had heard many of the Court members were meeting up to investigate the cause of the crack. He knew so little about Mirrorspace himself, but this was his chance to learn some things about his court and what many of them called 'home'. It had all been so exciting and for the most part people weren't all 'doom and gloom' about it. Things changed quickly however, when the first mirror they encountered splintered and sent flying pieces of glass at them.

Crocus was by no means an athlete and even in his enhanced powered form he was unable to avoid an injury. A rather large piece of glass flew into his shoulder cutting into him, thankfully it wasn't too deep. But it still hurt and it made the rest of the journey more tedious than it had to be. Kiuchi had been hurt as well and with his friend also on his mind it helped him to block out some of his own pain as they made their way through the rest of the grueling Mirrorspace. At some point he wasn't even sure they were still in Mirrorspace. It was definitely similar, but still felt different. It felt like something was calling to them, pulling them along through a series of trials and mishaps. Nothing seemed to go right for them, until the stepped through another mirror, thankfully this one didn't break, and came into a room with odd stones along the floor. There was one that seemed to call to him and he picked up the blue stone, which felt damp in his hands. It reminded him of the ocean in a way.

It seemed like they journey had come to an end, leaving them all with more questions than they had had going in. Crocus stepped through the mirror and back into the real world with Acubens, Kiuchi, and Chione behind him. As he powered down the pain in his shoulder flamed up anew. "Well...I'm ready for bed. Anyone else?" Rhona wasn't going to let him get away with treating this himself though, not that he really had the skills. He just didn't want to go to the hospital. His father had connections to all of them in some way, he didn't want to have someone telling his father something strange had happened to his son. He was the good kid, Ebony was the one that caused trouble. Plus, he was always terrible at lies. At least when it came to his father anyway.

Rhona assured him that she would do all the talking though and Jason was forced to tag along with them as they made their way to the closest hospital. He pulled out his phone and started to text Kailey. This wasn't something he could hide from her. They often spent time together out on his boat, they saw each other in their swim suits too often. It would look shady if he didn't tell her something had happened before she saw it for herself. 'Be careful on your way to work. We just got jumped by some thugs. I'm going to the hospital for now. It's not too bad, I promise.' He decided to go with the story Rhona had made up for them and tried to hide a laugh as she went off on the ER clerk at the counter, telling them how they had all been jumped while they had been hanging out together that night.

They had gone to the hospital his father worked at that day and Jason was instantly recognized. They got in pretty quickly since they had some various, obvious wounds. Jason was now bleeding through his shirt. He didn't think about how strange it would be to have a stab wound with no hole in his shirt until it was too late. At least no one asked him any questions about it, they were too concerned with the actual injury to be suspicious. He didn't have a chance to look at his phone as they worked on stitching up his shoulder. So, as he layed on the recovery bed, praying they'd release him soon, he was surprised when Kailey came in, escorted by his father. Oh great.

"Hey! Don't you have work soon? I told you I'd be okay." His injury didn't stop her from hugging him, although more carefully than normal. "How could she stay away? You were jumped by thugs! You're lucky you weren't hurt worse." His Dad checked over his injury again as Jason and Kailey talked casually. She did have work soon, but she couldn't not visit her friend in the hospital. He would have done the same for her, but it was weird having to tell a fake story to them both. They couldn't even believe him if he told the truth, not that he could. This was the first time his 'night job' had actually gotten in the way of his everyday life. He hated having to lie to them, especially with such vague details. It was also odd to admit that people had jumped him in the first place, especially since he had been with a group as well. What thugs jumped four people at once? Crazy one he assured them, but at least they were all mostly okay.

His dad wanted him to stay at the main house that night and of course Kailey agreed. "I'll be fine! If anything happens I'll be sure to call you both right away." Honestly, he wouldn't mind spending a night at his parents house, but he had told xi Wang that he could stay at his place that night. It seemed like Rhona could use some alone time with her new lady friend. "Seriously, you two worry too much. Now, can I leave now?" He gave Kailey one last hug and warned her to be careful on her way to work again, then his father checked him out and he was relieved to be on his way home. He just had to wait for the others to be dismissed as well. Rhona would probably hate Jason if he just disappeared with Xi Wang in tow. He was looking forward to a nice drink and his bed so badly.

xxxSolo - My own happy, little Island.

Crocus did what he could to forget about the week his court spent trapped inside Queen Altea's realm. While it wasn't all together an awful experience, it had caused some complicated in his personal life and permanently scared his face. He was tired of having to make up excuses for what was happening to those around him. However, one big change had come from their encounter with the crystal Queen.

Mirrorscape. When they had destroyed the Queen, they had gained access (in a way) to her power source and in turn that had created this moldable space for his Court. He had only seen it briefly seen it after their epic battle with the corrupted Queen, he was too injured to even leave on his own. Avior had had to carry him off to safety. Since then, he had yet to return. Now though, he was a Super in his court. He could come and go on his own, whereas before he had to be accompanied by someone else. He also felt like he was more prepared for anything crazy Mirrorspace could throw his way. It was certainly more stable now, he didn't think he'd have to worry about shards of glass splintering off and jabbing at him with sharp edges.

As he passed through the newish golden mirror in their common room, he walked into the space with the citadel again. It reminded him of Altea, but it was their own now. From there, he found a mirror that allowed him to pass through it and into his own space. He hadn't been there yet, despite having been super for over a year at this point. There was nothing on the land yet, it was just coated in a white dust, waiting for him to introduce something new.

For now, he had just wanted to see it. He didn't have an definite plans in place for his unique space. He sat with his legs folded in the middle of it all, just taking it in. It was like he own his own private island. An island that he could bend to his whims, do with what he please, but it would take work. It would take adventuring out into Mirrorspace and gathering materials. He would like a lake, maybe a dock. Some sand, and it would definitely need some grass instead of this...white dust.

He sat the for a while, trying to envision what it could be, then set out again. He might as well begin his hunt today. So he set off into Mirrorspace, following it's twisted paths and ever changing hallways. The great thing about Mirrorspace, was that if you ever wanted to leave it was as simple as walking through a mirrored wall and returning to the common area. So, while it was easy to get lost, it was a simple matter of will to find your way back home.

It took some adventuring, but eventually he did find a crystal. He had one already, a pale blue that felt damp and cool to the touch. This was one a little more difficult to spot against the dingy colors of Mirrorspace. It blended so well, and had a rocky texture as he reached down to pick it up. For something so small, it was quite heavy. He dismissed it to his space for now, rather than lugging it all the way back.

It wasn't long before he was back at the citadel and making his way to his Mirror. The space was empty still, just the way he left it. He walked toward one of his edges and then pulled his two crystals from thin air. He tried to picture what he was going for in his head, then she crushed the two crystals together, with some effort, and stood back. It was....well. Magical, for lack of a better word, how the world transformed under him. It wasn't the largest ting ever, but he had a mini-mountainous waterfall on his hands. The pool of water at the bottom was small, but still the sound was soothing. It was the start of something at least. He could come here, listen to the found of the falling water, and be at peace. For now, it was enough. He'd be sure to visit more often and care for this space. It would require him drawing more energy from the citizens of Destiny City, but that was a small price to pay for something so beautiful.

xxxSolo - The Islands' Rewards

It had been a while since Crocus had found the time to venture into Mirrorspace again. Now that classes were over though and he had finally successfully proposed to his boyfriend, he found he had time again. At least for a few months anyway he could focus more of his attention on his own little, happy Island of space. And so he made his way carefully through the ever changing vastness of Mirrorspace. Sometimes he wondered if it really went on infinitely, or if the every changing rooms had him going around in circles.

It still amazed him that you could pretty much make whatever you wanted, albeit temporarily while in Mirrorspace. Sometimes he'd wander into an area that looked like a bedroom. Sometimes he was stuck going up staircases. Giant mirrors were common. And no matter what, he could always make it back to the common area, whenever he wanted.

This time he found another wet, blue crystal. He had almost missed it, but the gleam of something not silver-grey caught his attention and he found it. He was glad it was another blue crystal. Exactly what he needed to expand his little lake. Cryrstal in hand, he made his way back to the common area and from there into the Mirrorscape. Then, back to his own, personal Island. It hadn't changed at all from how he left it. A good part was still only plain white sand. Though, upon entry one could hear the waterfall in the distance.

It was a very calming sound and he made his way to the edge of the water, where a small pool had formed. Then, he laid down the new blue crystal and crushed it under his feet. Stepping away he let his thoughts focus on what he wanted it to become. Then, he got out of the way before he got soaked as the small pool started to grow in size.

He got a little wet still, maybe he should have removed his boots beforehand. Oh well, it was still nice and exactly what he wanted. It was definitely a more appropriate sized pond now. Sometime he'd have to explore just how deep it was.

He decided to take a little stroll around the waters edge, and that was when something shiny caught his eye. Just under the water at the edge of his pond was another crystal. It wasn't like one he had seen in Mirrorspace before. This one was a pale lilac in color. He fished it out and held it in his hand. It was smooth, and probably only wet because of where it had been found.

"I wonder what it is you do." He thought out loud and took a few steps from the water's edge. Then, gently set it down and crushed it as well. Little sports formed first, but quickly bloomed into a small bed of Crocus flowers. Not you average flower though. They sparkled and shined. When he reached down to touch on he realized they were made of a soft crystal. They also gave off a very sweet smell, different from the more bitter smell of saffron, produced by the Earth flower.

He had heard from Kiuchi that eventually his island would develope a crystal unique to him. It didn't really come as much of a surprise when it produced a flower. At least it was pretty. He'd definitely have to save one for Kiuchi and Avior, so a little piece of his world could be on their's as well.

xxxSolo - And Life Goes On

Life never really goes how anyone expects it to. Least of all in a city such as this. He had found himself taking a back seat to all things Mirrorscape for a while. While he didn't hate being a Senshi, it was just a little too much to handle on top of everything going on in his every day life. He needed a break from it all. Well, really they both needed a break from it all. And a lot of things changed during that break.

He got married. Nischal was the love of his life and he still couldn't believe he'd actually managed to lock that down. They had a few ups and downs getting settle into married life. Most of it just had to do with Jason settling into work. He ended up going full time with the paper he was working for during school after he graduated from DCU. He also opened up a small stupid space for photography. Mostly working on family portraits, senior pictures, engagement photos, and the likes. It wasn't anything too fancy, but it would enough to keep him satisfied with his contribution to their household.

They were living in quite relative peace. Just taking the days one at a night. They enjoyed small vacations. Sailing was always fun and Jason was in coming around to the idea of idling fishing as well. He didn't normally have the patience to sit still for so long, but he was coming to find that he'd be willing to do anything with Nischal. He had grown so used to waking up next to him in the mornings and crawling into bed with him in the evenings. It was almost like nothing else in the world really mattered much. Just as long as it was Nischal and himself he didn't mind what they were up to.

Their spent their Holiday's with Jason's more than welcoming family. The food was always great and the gifts were always fun. As time continued to go on a nice rhythm settled into their lives. Whatever crazy thing that happened in the city they managed to avoid. He had barely done much for his role in the Dark Mirror group. Maybe he felt a little guilty about that, but how could he waste his time collecting energy when he'd much rather be at home cooking with his husband?

He had even been thinking about taking a step back at the paper, or even quitting all together to spend more time at home and at his studio. He had a better reason than just spending time with his husband too. Recently, he might have been receiving some hints from his mother that she was ready to be a Grandmother and well, known of her other children were married.

That meant it was up to him and Nischal to step up. They current routine was so peaceful thought. He wasn't sure he was ready for the disruption that a child would bring into their home. He also wasn't exactly sure how to bring it up with Nischal. He might just drop a few hints here and there to see if he couldn't get his husband to bring it up first.
