Emrys. It warmed Hitch to hear it, his lover's true name, finally. Rolled off the tongue much more beautifully than Cerussite, even if it didn't leave a whole lot of room for nicknames. What new name is he even gonna have? He doesn't know yet, he doesn't - one thing at a time. Somehow, he had to be rational, he had to be calm, he had to he was s**t at this goddamn Fritz just had to keep pushing your damn stupid a** -
"That's your name as you are now - you're a uhm - a knight, like your brother is - only he's like the final form knight, and you're in the middle, a squire - " He knew that much. ******** thank you Quenton for sitting down with him for forever going over all this s**t in such patient detail. "You were with the bad guys, the negaverse, like that freako that kissed you that one night - you had your reasons, but now you're with us where you belong, an' it's a really ********' long a** story - " He took a deep breath, reaching out and grabbing his lover's hand tight enough for it to ache - or it would've been if he hadn't just been Hitch, and his lover wasn't still a squire. " - but that's why your memory's all choppy baby, but we can help you clear all that up, an' it's gonna be okay, we just need to - "
Well. Someone needed to, anyway, and it was kind of only fair that Hitch do his part since his boyfriend - hopefully still fiance - was understandably shaken. So he got up, stretching his arms out once before he made an attempt to gather Fritz as ******** gently as he could into his arms, bridal style. Which would've been ******** hilarious if it was any other time, really, especially since the guy had a good, what, four to five inches on him?

He didn't understand, nor did he feel any reassured by the fact that he now had a name inside of his head. But at the same time, the expression on Hitch's face was the only thing that he was able to cling to; the one bright spot in his haze of blackness and confusion.
That's your name now.
He did not know what a knight was, nor a squire, unless one counted all of the history books he'd read in school. Emrys opened his mouth and then shut it again, swallowing hard against the mass of questions that threatened to burst out of him, letting them wither and die instead.
Hitch's grasp was tight. Emrys let out a little sound halfway between a gasp and a sob, but didn't pull away, feeling the familiar heat and the familiar roughness of his lover's fingers around his own. For a moment, it was all he was able to concentrate on.
You're a Squire.
You were with the bad guys, the Negaverse.
That's why your memory's all choppy.
It was too much. Emrys drew in a staggering breath, then stepped back, somewhat startled, as Hitch gathered Fritz up in his arms. His brother was unconscious still, his body limp, and Emrys made a whimper of fear, reaching out to touch his pale cheek.
"Sh - should we get him to a hospital, then?" he asked, focusing on this fact instead of the thousands of others he needed explained. "Will - will he be...okay?"
