Aaricia chewed her lip nervously. Would Lixue truly not mind the glares that might get thrown her way? Oh! She had a different mother? Wait.. got different? What did that mean? She almost asked, but held her tongue as she stepped back from the warm hug. It surely would not be polite to inquire into such a subject.
The continuation of their visit made her smile. Exploring with another girl! She nodded and followed Lixue excitedly. "I hope we can find something nice for you!"

She smiled at the girl and looked at the curious look that flashed over her face. "Its ok. Shes different cause she thinks praying to the Gods will bring my father back. He passed away a while ago. She lives out of town and keeps to her self. I see her once a year maybe. So its not like they think im great or my mother is great right now. But I'm ok. I would be with her if i thought it would work but i know that it wont bring him back." she said softly, a sad smile on her face. Looking around as they neared the rock cluster that she was headed towards she smiled. "Lets hope so! It looks like a good set of rocks! Here use this." she said taking out an extra small size hammer. "This will help you check the rocks. Pick up the rocks and knock on them with the hammer." she said as she picked one up and showed her. It made a dull thud noise. "That means its solid and doesn't have a hollow center. If we find a hollow one then we'll try to open it and see whats in side. It might be pretty crystals." she said happily.

After a moment, Aaricia gave a small nod of understanding. She hadn't discussed death with her mother much, but she knew that it wasn't anything that could be cured.
She looked at the offered hammer curiously, turning it in her hands to inspect each angle. Smiling hopefully, she began picking up and knocking on the rocks. Most made the sound of solid stone. After a few tries, she perked up as one knock sounded a little different. "Try this one, Lixue!" she offered hopefully, holding out the stone she'd just knocked.

She smiled as she inspected her own rocks too, glad to be out with a friend. Her little sprite fluttered around and picked up the rocks she could carry too, not many of them but she tried and zoomed about poking at this that or the other and sitting to eat snow sometimes.
When Aaricia said one made a different noise she gasped and hurried over. "Oh the fun begins! Lets set it here on this large stone." she said taking the rock and resting it on the large flatish stone near by. She took out a chisel and looked the rock over and settled the chisel in the very middle of the rock and took out a bigger hammer from her back. Giving a few small taps she had a nook in the rock and then whacked it good and hard. Once. Twice and then bam, it split in the middle and she now had two halves of a rock. "Look! Inside here Aaricia!" she said holding the rock open to show her a blue and purple inside with white pointed crystals pointed towards the center. "See how pretty!" she said with a smile.

Aaricia followed eagerly, squatting and wrapping her arms around her legs to watch. Flinching back at the hammer swung, she couldn't help giggling. This was certainly different activity than she was used to.
When the center was revealed, she gasped with delight. "Oooooh! It's so lovely!" Small fingers reached out to gently touch the crystals that had been hidden moments ago. To think that the dull rocks were hiding such treasures! "This will help your shop, right?" she asked, looking up hopefully at the older girl.

She smiled and let the girl hold one half of the rock. "Yes it will. Im going to clean up the out side and polish it and it will be even more valuable. Its going to help me keep my home and feed my self. Thank you for helping me!" she said with a bright smiled as she settled the rock in her back. "Keep looking there might be more stuff! If you dig through some of the snow and find anything weird let me know!" she said with a smile. A few minuets later she found another rock, smaller then the one that Aaricia had found. When she opened it it was solid white inside with blue speckles inside the white crystals. "Oh how pretty! Would you like to keep half of this one? I'll keep te other half ok?" she said offering the other girl half of the rock.

Delighted to hear she had helped, she hurried off to continue her search. Unfortunately, this round was only filled with solid rocks and ice. When Lixue stuck a prize, she hurried over to see for herself.
When half was offered to her, she looked up with surprise. "Truly?" Carefully, as though taking something as delicate as thin ice, she accepted the half and took a closer look. "Thank you, Lixue," she murmured in awe. She looked up at the sky briefly, and chewed on her lip. "I.. should be returning home now. I hope I can see you again?"

She smiled and nodded as she put the half of her rock in a different pocket. "Yes its getting a bit late. I'll walk you home i don't think that i'll find much more in this area. The fact that we got two from here is pretty good. I don't find two in an area much but now we each have a special rock to remember our first trip out together!" she said with a smile as she put all her stuff in her bag and looked at Aaricia. "Lets go! I don't want you to get hurt on the way home." she said as the little sprite zoomed about and threw a snow ball at the girls and then zoomed ahead to go play with more snow.

Aaricia couldn't help looking up at Lixue in awe. This woman was willing to let her hang around, explore with her, and now wanted to walk her home for her safety? She was amazing! "Thank you." Bashfully, she reached out to take Lixue's hand for the walk. Laughing at the sprite, she found herself walking with a little skip in her step. She couldn't wait to tell her mother about the day she'd had!
