A chuckle left her as she considered Incanthis' words. He had a point. Though.. "It's hard to become friends with anyone if you are like me." Dem understood the why of it. Her tribe was known for it's fierce warriors. Plus, the extremists. "Thank you for agreeing to help me though. It will be nice to get back to my daughters." The poor Alk was starting to worry needlessly about the two girls. Mainly she worried that they were causing too much trouble for her elderly mother. Then there was her little sister who was about the same age. "Ah.. I left them with their father and my elderly mother, so they are likely causing problems."

Incanthis glanced over at the woman before giving a slow nod, "I... c-could see how you might be intimdiating to others, Shifters especially who grew up on stories of how... scary the Alkidike can be." He murmured, stroking a hand against Junior's soft scales before he then said, "You aren't what the stories said though, so I'm sure you have a better chance then most when it comes to making friends." She was a lot different then what he'd thought the Alkidike were... but then again the fact that she was still around meant that she wasn't among the more zealous, warfaring Alkidike, so maybe that was it? One group that was easier to deal with, one that was as terrifying as the stories said? Blinking a couple times Incanthis turned to look over at V'demhe once more, head cocked to one side, a look of curiosity on his face as he asked, "Their... father? I thought the Alkidike were an all female race?" Could the rumors about that have been wrong too? He couldn't say that he'd really ever chatted with one of the before today so it was hard to say.

She smiled at him as he gave her a small compliment. V'demhe liked shifters. The adorable things always seemed to be so sweet. Thank you. Content with that she was happy to follow him to wherever it was that he was leading her. Until he stopped and turned to look at her with blatant curiosity. Dem looked from side to side trying to see why he stopped, then she brought her attention back to him as he asked about what she'd said. Giving a small chuckle she reached up and rubbed her neck as she nodded. "Yes, Alkidike are only females. I mated with a male earthling." It was the second time she was telling this for the day. V'demhe didn't blame them for being so curious. After all, she was the one being an odd ball. Most Alks didn't mate with non-alks. "His name is Virain, a water earthling. I met him when he was a youngling. Of course I wasn't much older than he was but.. he was in the forests of Jauhar all alone and I made sure he got home alright." This part she hadn't relayed to Lennart, but for some reason telling Incanthis didn't seem that bad. "It wasn't until he grew that I realized how.. attractive.. he was." Dem shrugged her shoulders slightly.

"Ohhh, I see." Incanthis said, finding it a touch surprising that her mate was an earthling, if only due to the stories he'd heard about the Alkidike. At the same time it was a rather nice thing to hear, that there were actually those who were willing to make friendly with the earthlings. It was the sort of thing that he felt would allow for peace one day, the mixing of blood... though at the same time he knew there were some upset by mixed blood. Giving a smile Incanthis said, "The Water Tribe is a very kind one, Junior here, along with the rest of his clutch, belongs to a member of that tribe named Abie. Abie is a sweet heart so I ca understand why you'd like him." Though the idea of looking at Abie as being 'attractive' was a thought that actually made his cheeks color a bit. He shook his head quickly to shake it off before he said, "We are almost there now." Incanthis lifted his free hand up to motion at the building that was a short distance ahead of them, "That is the one you are looking for."

A grin quickly formed on her face. "Virain is a sweetheart. He went to Chibale with me to ask Aisha for our daughters. I couldn't ask for better than that." Dem was proud to call Rainy hers. The warrior reached out a hand to pet Junior, the name of the snaptrotter that had run into her legs earlier, then looked to where the boy pointed. She'd memorized the way to where they were and now she knew the building she was after. "Perfect. Do you need me to walk you home?" V'demhe had seen how nervous he had been before and while she thought it was because of her she wanted to make sure it wasn't something else. "I remember the way here so I should be alright if you want me to."

Incanthis seemed to think on it for a moment before he finally decided, "It's alright, I should be alright heading home on my own." So long as he was quick about it. Best that he got home before anyone noticed that he and Junior had gone missing. He didn't want to worry anyone after all. He gave the Alkidike woman a bright smile, "It was really nice to meet you." Even if he'd been a bit startled at first by his run in with her it had turned out that she was a kindly woman. Not to mention that there was something... well, exciting, about meeting with an Alkidike. "I hope that the couriers are able to serve you well and get your message to your family." He said, giving a nod. He hoped that all went well for well for the woman during her journey back to where her family was located.

Her eyes went toward the building she needed then she turned her head to look behind her at where they had come from. Dem, too, was thinking about it. Did she really want to leave the boy on his own? He lived here, though, and she didn't. Finally she nodded her head. "Alright. If you need anything then I'll be in Matori with my family." V'demhe surprised herself as she said this. Something about becoming a mother was changing her and how she looked at everyone. "And be careful on your way back. I'd feel horrible if something happened to you just because I was lost in the city."

"Thank you, V'demhe." It was a kind offer, telling him that if he needed anything that she'd be in Matori. It was a surprise, but a good one, something that made him smile. While he wasn't sure if he'd be going to Matori any time soon it was still nice to have someone that might welcome him were he to ever visit the place. He might have to ask Abie about it, ready to visit the Water Tribe homeland if Abie wanted to go there.
Nodding his head and giving the woman a smile Incanthis said, "I will be careful, thank you." He said, nodding his head before he turned on his heel starting back toward home. He patted Junior on the head as he went, "While you shouldn't have wandered off I am... kind of glad that you did." He'd gotten to meet with someone rather interesting after all which made him having to chase him down worth it.
