Lawr was startled by the fact that the defence didn't break at all this time around and it was almost enough to make him hopeful that perhaps if his defence was doing so well that his attacks would be also.
Perhaps Butch had finally begun to catch up with the sheer divinity of his master. Perhaps that was what was happening here.
Still, he was reluctant to use his fear with a relative stranger, it was one thing to use it on America or Horace, people that he wanted to taste the fear of and to know just for that split second what their strange and alien emotions felt like. Harrison was an unknown quantity and he felt it would be dangerous to try.
Still, his curiosity had been piqued and he had to know.
Throwing his (admittedly slight) weight behind his claws he shoved and twisted them, the runes along Butch's surface blazing a bright white as his fear turned insidious and creeping, twisting up in a strange and creeping sensation of cold and void which sought out the very heart of B0nez and Harrison's fear.
It wasn't an explosive fear or anything with any kick, but it lingered, tying Butch and Lawrence to the other man, reaching out for emotions and sharing the absolute numbness of their own.

Harrison felt the cold, animal twist of fear that seemed to snake right through his chest, but in the crisp air it wasn't bad. Like blood-matted fur and the chill of an old cellar. What was weirder was the vague sucking feeling, which was half like a kiss and half like he and B0nez were being...drunk from.
But not by anything big. Maybe like a small fish sucking on his toes in a wading pool. What Lawrence would get was mostly confidence and sharp, not all well-meaning cheer mixed up with B0nez's own high volume enthusiasm, and the lighting crackle of their shared fear.
Under it was more subtle, like minor notes. Worry and concern. The dark bite of a bitter victory. Satisfaction.
Harrison pulled B0nez's trigger, and the electricity bubbled around him.
"Keep it up. Let's see what you got."

Harrison's emotions through the Bite were nothing like anything he'd tasted from Horace or America. He couldn't interpret any of it with any clarity, but it was addictive, something sharp and direct present in it all that he could make out. Butch liked it, considering it somehow familiar in his own way and wanting more of the energy he could feel in it.
When Lawrence swiped at Harrison with his free claw, it was with a sharp lance of fear that was hungry, a wild starved animal that wanted the fear for warmth, sustenance and survival.
"Is the bubble a fear?" he asked, still curious and oddly detached from the violence of his actions.

"There's different types. That's mine. Seems like a kind of shield-type. B0nez calls it a Firewall."
This time Harrison was the one doing the blocking, and he chatted even with the Fear streaming between them.
"Other thing is, you don't always have to aim for the weapon. If someone's swinging, they got to swing with their arm, right? So if they got a real short weapon, like a dagger, you can block the arm,"
Harrison brought his arm against Lawrence's demonstratively. The fear still crackled. "Hell, you can do that without summoning. And you can do it from whatever way they come. Overhand, underhand, side. With knives, underhand's going to be more natural. They do a big dramatic Psycho swing, they've got to leave their torso exposed."
He patiently blocked Lawr's other arm too.

"I see." he said, without a hint of sarcasm, much of what Harrison had to say was things which he simply had not considered at all, fighting rarely if ever and when he did opting for the element of surprise or stacked odds to survive.
"Swings like that seem to be asking to be disembowelled." he said. "Not that it would be possible to disembowel a hunter, but I suppose that we do fight things which are not."
He reached out with both claws attempting to circumvent the impassable defence the other man seemed capable of sustaining but did not frankly rate his chances.
In his head Butch whined.

"Yep. Lot of sword fighters, that's why they turn to the side when they fight. Making themselves into a smaller target, guarding the torso. Great. I got one more for you." Harrison said, giving them both a bit more breathing room.
"I want you to hold the chain out straight, and block with that. Now, if you can, I think you can use it same as the sword breaker, and wrap up the other guy after you block. And this time, I'm not telling you what direction I'm coming from. So, have the chain out, and try to move it to where I'm swinging. You can try to move it first, some. Up, down, left, right."

It was slightly scandalous using the chain in front of someone else, normally reserved for times when he was very determined to use it and very set on the ends he intended with it. Holding it between the long talons preparing for an attack felt like standing on a line up holding an identifying number.
He tried not to fixate on it too firmly, intent that the sooner he did as he was asked and took it on board, the sooner he would be able to desummon and no one would be any the wiser.
Ducking into the stance he had been advised, he tensed up, ready to try and block the sword but already feeling rather drained and dizzy, even with the stolen fear from his attack propping him up.

Harrison came from the side this time, and like before Lawrence would feel the force of the blow about halved.
"Always serves to defend," Harrison said. "And here you've took about four hits from me with barely a scratch on you. Here's the other thing. You can hold out a while, defending. But if you got a partner who's doing the attacking, you can go forever. Like a ******** perpetual motion machine. See if you can twist B0nez out of my hands."

Lawrence was downright heartened by the fact that he was still standing after several hits by B0nez, but was slightly concerned that perhaps the other man was just going easy on him, that it was all a false sense of security.
Butch got very upset yet again as the side swing crackled against his shield and the surge of fear in defensive response left Lawr even colder than he had been before.
"I d..don't think I have any partners capable of that." he said, still shivering and for the moment wishing that his weapon was a fire one rather than the creeping cold that Butch represented. "I just need to learn to care for myself." And it was obvious from the tone he did not consider that anyone else would.
Clenching his talons, he sought to seize the blade and twist it, using the versatility of the claws to try and get a hold.

B0nez's larger blade spun away, plunging into the earth. Harrison still had the shorter dagger, but he didn't seem like he was in much of a hurry.
"Great," he said going over to scoop the blade back up.
"Can't do much about the friends situation. Just saying it's a good feeling, is all."
Lawrence hadn't stopped shivering and looking miserable since they got out here.
"You still cold?" Harrison asked.

"I imagine it would be a good feeling to be essentially invincible in battle. I just have to choose my battles carefully for the most part." He hugged himself even with the lethal talons summoned, careful not to damage his clothing with the razor edges.
"It is ridiculous how cold it is." he said irritably.
"Isn't this supposed to be a tropical island?"

Harrison looked skeptical. He wasn't exactly bundled up all over, and the weather wasn't bad.
"The bond's supposed to regulate temperature. You and your weapon doing okay?"

Lawrence seemed to cross his arms that little more tightly. He rather obviously tried to resist the effect of the shivering to speak clearly.
"Yes. We are both fine."

Lawrence did not move. "The infirmary?" he said. "I am not due on shift over there right now, I am stationed elsewhere. There is no reason to bother them. I will only get roped into something or other."
It was apparent he was irritated at the idea, his tone turning more direct and sharp, the way it often did when someone tried to make him do something he didn't want to.
