But that list might change once Rogue One is out.

Darth Vader was confirmed for being in Rogue One. They also said Darth Vader is going to be really "dark" in this movie, dismembering someone with his lightsaber. SO HYPE!

My favorites list goes:
ESB, ANH, TFA, ROTJ, ROTS, AOTC, TPM.
Empire is my favorite because it's got some of the best humor, the love story between Han and Leia, and the Empire actually wins.
I find it curious that Attack of the Clones is usually ranked last. I figured the overwhelming amount of Jar Jar in The Phantom Menace would make it less popular.

Can we include Rogue One in this list? If so, I think mine goes something like...
Empire Strikes Back > Return of the Jedi > Force Awakens > Rogue One > A New Hope > Revenge of the Sith > Attack of the Clones > Phantom Menace
Empire was the character development (and Han/Leia romance, I've got such a hopeless crush on Han) and unexpectedly tragic ending. Return of the Jedi, I mean, who doesn't love plot twists and happy-ish endings? Force Awakens, I went into this movie with low expectations and had my mind blown (and Han has a cute son okay!!!). Rogue One was also a low-expectation-very-impressed movie (THE FEELS THOUGH. I didn't have nearly enough tissues.). A New Hope, classic. Revenge of the Sith is another one that makes me cry every. damn. time. Hayden Christensen was not a good pick, and all the countless plotholes, but the gosh dang emotions win this one for me. Attack of the Clones, cringey romance, but the battle at Geonosis was pretty cool. Aaaand Phantom Menace, Qui-Gon, Darth Maul, and the Podrace were the only redeeming parts of the movie.
