Vladlena evolved from a very old character concept that did not solidify into an actual character for a very long time. The vague concept was for her to be this incredibly tall thin blond Russian woman. I pictured her wearing a long tan trench coat with a very serous personality, a bit of a military woman. I believe I once joined role play with her being a world war two era pilot but it did not last long.

Then I got Rockband 2 with my wife. Naturally, we made an all girl band with our original characters. Kira was our drummer (she went from her Gothic Lolita outfit to looking like a zombie warlock) and our vocalist was Vladlena. I had never really used this character much before so this experience really helped solidify her image. She evolved into a very different girl then I had intended. She was still an incredibly tall Russian. (6ft 5in!) But she very much came to have this wild rock star personality. Some of you might notice that her haircut and much of her current outfit was inspired by costume pieces from that game. Rockband invariably defined this character in my mind for all time.

Because her design lent itself so well to the setting, I played Vladlena as a barbarian in Dungeon and Dragons. It was a blast! She would kick down doors, crack sculls and drink strange potions without a second thought. She was wild. It was fun to play a character that would stride out there into danger and throw caution to the wind. She killed a drake in a single blow during an arena fight to impress a tribe of orcs. She singlehandedly scaled a wall while being shot at with crossbows to lower a drawbridge to let her comrades into a castle. Vladlena lived a life as large as she was tall.

Thankfully she transfers quite well into Fire Emblem, both personality and class wise. I would play her as a Mercenary/Fighter/Barbarian to eventually become a Hero. She would have a lot of HP and the Vengeance skill to punish anyone who would dare to fight her. I think she would as fun to play both in the role play and in the board game as she was to play in D&D.

My wife drew me a new picture for Kira drawn in the FE Awakening/Fates art style! I think it looks pretty nifty! Eventually she is going to draw different expressions for her as well as draw FE portraits for Kit and Lilith.

...and this is when one of Kira's attacks are super effective against her target, not something you want to be on the receiving end of.

Thanks for the kind complements! She based the portraits off of Awakening and Fates designs. There tended to be three different kinds of faces. there was the face for when they would come out on top after an attack, which is Kira's smiley face. Then there was the face for when they would come out at a disadvantage which is Kira's worried looking face. The last portrait was originally her expression for when she crits with an attack, but since that is not a normal feature of this boardgame I think I'll just use it when she is attacking something weak to her elemental tomes.

And here is the updated photo for Kit. I'm looking foward to finally getting to use her in the game. Now that I have her classed as a Wyvern rider hat should make her a little more balanced.
