"I know you do, that's why I keep coming back." He said it as if it was matter-of-fact and, to the tall lanky man, it was. He could afford the best of the best and he would pick Regan to work on his vehicles every time.
"Of course," he looked at her a little bewildered by her confusion. "That's not a problem, I have multiple." It hadn't really been a concern to him, the helmet thing, he'd purchased an array of them so that his mother could ride with him if she wanted or if he had other takers.
Once, there'd been a girl whom he'd taken on multiple rides, but she'd disappeared as people tended to in this city.
"I thought I'd try being modest, but you're right. They're no competition. The only one that is - " he stopped thinking of Katrina and how she'd been challenging and took more risks than the others. "Regardless, it's was a poor attempt at being humble."

She made a scoffing sound.
"Of course you do." She added and then ran a hand through her hair. "Well, I guess I can't refuse. Just don't go...like crazy." She added and then sighed,
"I've done the preliminary check up, so if you'd like to look over the estimated cost." She held out her clipboard to him. "Sign off and we should be okay! I'll order decal and paints once the body work is done. I think it'll take just a little longer then 3 months, but thats a good amount of time." She nodded.

"I've been riding a while Regan, of course I have extra helmets." He said it so dry and point blank because, to him, it was an obvious fact.
"Don't worry, I only drive reckless when I'm on my own." Unless told to.
He took the clipboard, skimming the numbers and then scribbling his signature across the line. "Three months is fine, it's still cold enough out that the races are infrequent." Not that he needed an excuse to race, but he didn't want to rush Regan.
The longer the bike took, the longer he got to observe her. He knew what resilience looked like and Regan had it in spades. It didn't stop that thick coil of understanding that bled into worry.
"I'll see you then?" He asked, picking himself up off the floor.

Well, sir, it was the only excuse she could come up with on the fly okay.
"I'll let you know if I can't. Should be okay for the next couple of weeks." She shrugged. "Thats when I get paid next anyways." She rubbed her eyes and then set the board down.
"I look forward to this." She nodded, "Let me help you out."
