"Oh! The Zena is the blue people right? Gold eyes but blue else where? Met one of em a while ago.. he was a beast tamer comign down to see our animals. Home's where you make it. If you make it with a traveling wagon, then the wagon's your home." She shrugged. "I'm just not a traveler yet.... will be soon once I get better at taming then I'll go visit Zena."
Her eyes widened and she grabbed the boys hand as the xaraan darted forward. "Whoa! This one isn't tamed yet!" The sharp beak flashed where the hand had been and grabbed the apple. "She'll take your hand as well as the treat." Sanele sighed and shook her head.
"Gotta watch out for Xaraan: they're beaks can break bone and shred skin easily. You alright?"
She eyed the beast as it happily munched away on the apple and eyed the basket for more. "Nuh uh.. you don't eat their supplies, goof!" She said and planted a boot on the beak and shoved the hungry head away.
"The racings big in Sulburi and a few of the larger towns. its dangerous. Some of the riders keep their beasts half feral to make them more competitive and willing to attack any of the tamed xaraan that get too close or try to pass. Its all about speed and a bit of blood. Crowds love it when the Xaran start fighting.. I hate that part though."
