Wynne shot Nevah a look, surprised that she knew so much about parties from far far away. Of course, as curious as she was, it didn't compare to how ridiculously pleased when Callum's arm wound around her waist. Obediently she shuffled closer, smiling like the sermal who got the cream over at Nevah, letting her own arm slip around Callum's waist, fingertips tucking into his belt. It wasn't until this moment, where Callum held on to her as if it was nothing, that Nim got some sort of inkling of just what Nevah was doing here at this table.

They were two ladies here for a double date, only they hadn't gotten the memo that they were paired up incorrectly, and Callum was content to let them believe otherwise. While Callum happily knocked back his drink, Nimueh leaned down somewhat, catching her eye and gesturing between himself and Callum, hastily setting his hand back on the table by the time the blonde finished his drink. At least, this way, she would know his intent and wouldn't sit here, listening to Callum's stories while hoping for something to happen. At least he had the manners to look upset over it, and to offer a hasty, somewhat guilty quirk of his lips.

And so it was that Callum launched into his story. Nimueh finished his glass, and motioned for another - and with the warm drink in his hands, and the warmth of it seeping easily through his system, Nim sat back in his seat and watched his lover tell his story. At first it was interesting enough, even for him - to hear about Callum in this foreign land, to try and picture it. ... And then it took a turn he hadn't expected. Callum... he had never expected to be the sort to 'sow his seeds' so liberally, or to take money to do so. Here, in Zena, such a thing wasn't uncommon but was generally more to do with inns and taverns, relief for those traveling.

Yet in Oba, the wealthy simply approached foreignors for a night of pay ? He'd never heard of someone being propositioned who wasn't already established in the business. How brazen of this person to simply assume, by looking at Callum, and to approach him this way! But... as long as the shifter was receptive, Nimueh felt he could smother the embers of protectiveness before they caught. Taking a breath, he took another drink, wondering despite himself at what a golden room would even look like- only to stop and stare over his tankard when Callum continued.

Slowly, he set the cup down on the table, drawing his fingertips along the top of the glass, eyes narrowing somewhat as the meaning of his words sank in. Thankfully, he didn't have to voice his question, as Wynne did it for him, though she didn't seem nearly as concerned, and instead was simply curious. "'Collector of oddities...'" She echoed, flushing. It was clear enough without saying what Callum was hinting at, and she was too polite to clarify it herself. Instead, she squeezed his hip, wide-eyed, simply trying to imagine what sort of place this was. To her, it all sounded so fancy - and it was more than a little thrilling to hear that this beautiful stranger had been the prize of a rich Oban! "Obans are so strange - what is it like to have such little to do ?

Nevah returned Wynne's look in kind. It had been a lucky enough guess, one that would have prompted a response even if she'd been wrong. Her nose scrunched when the other female wound herself tightly against the lighter stranger, trying not to let her pout show.

Something had changed in the atmosphere around him, though Callum hadn't the slightest inkling of what. He turned to look at the wide eyed Wynne, moving his hand to rest comfortably against her thigh. "Unnerving." His ears picked up a little snort, and when he looked, Callum found that it had come from Nevah. For the most part she was flushing, obviously trying to play the part of the innocent after being caught. "It is! The first day or so was nice, but after that I didn't know what to do with myself. Granted, I don't remember much of my stay." Callum shrugged his shoulders, passing the events off as 'normal' enough for him. "I ate a flower...little red thing and after that the night would just blur until I woke up in the morning." He remembered being told that it would help with the muscular pain, and while he was grateful for the assistance, Callum hadn't liked being drugged. The feeling had stuck with him long into the days following his stay, and when it wore off he had horrible stomach cramps.

Callum reached for his tankard and...found it empty? When did he finish it off? He vaguely remembered having a few more drinks, but the exact timing of it all didn't stick with him. "Anyway I like going places better than staying in one spot. Especially with that guy." Callum look at Nim, and tilted his head in 'how you doin'?' fashion. "Better than being an overstuffed doll on a shelf!...hey, hey," He tugged on Wynne, his eyes never straying from Nimueh. "Does he...does he seem bluer to you?"

Turning back to his lover, Callum leaned over the table, almost slumping against it as he looked at Nimueh. For a few good minutes he did nothing, but stare before bursting out into a snorting laugh.

"Wynne, I think we should go check on their food.
" Nevah was trying hard to choke back a laugh herself.

"Yeah, you walk away, but...but I'm watching yoooou, shifty."

Well, at least that was handled. Even as he continued though, Nim felt chilled as Callum continued, eyeing the shifter hybrid, lips pressed tightly together. How long had Callum been down in Oba, unable to remember all of what happened- a rare, exotic 'creature' for Obans to...

The thought horrified him and he felt the urge to yank Callum over the table and hold him tightly forever. Thankfully, once Callum finished his story, and looked at him from across the table, Nimueh was able to release his pent up breath, forcing a laugh at the ridiculous behavior of his obviously inebriated partner.

Wynne, for her part, was surprised at just how quickly Callum had gone from tipsy to full on drunk. Though she tried to hide her laugh, it released as a giggle as he jostled her, pressing her hand over her mouth and retracting her arm from where it had wound around Callum. Her interest remained, but it was clear that he was far too overwhelmed with the sap to be proper company, and Nevah had apparently given up on her conquest for some reason. Still, she pouted and reluctantly extricated herself from Callum. Taking the two empty glasses, she bustled around the table, only to burst into muffled laughter at Callum's farewell words.

Once the ladies had left, Nimueh clicked his tongue watching, unimpressed, as his lover half-collapsed over the table. "I've never seen you so drunk before, Callum. Should I be worried?" He asked, raising his eyebrows, this time unable to help the toothy smile that spilled over his face.

He watched the ladies go from underneath some locks of hair that had fallen over his eyes. It made him feel calmer knowing that Nevah was walking further and further away, hopefully to disappear from his mind entirely.

"I'm fine." Callum grumbled. The shifter pushed himself back up into a proper seating position only to end up leaned against the table. "..'m not that bad, just wanted her to go 'way." While he wasn't entirely gone, Callum had allowed himself the freedom to act as obnoxiously loose as possible to get her away. And it always came back to that, didn't it? The drinks had helped him forget it for a while, but when they came back the feelings had kick.

"I am not drunk."
He wagged his finger at Nimueh, attempting to give him a very straight forward stare. Unfortunately, it was half assed at best and broken by his smile. "I am almost drunk." If he'd known there had been alcohol in that drink he might have tried eating something earlier and drinking more water to balance it all out. As it stood Callum's body was metabolizing the liquor at a steady pace, unperturbed by his attempts to seem sober.

"This place is great, Nim. We should stay in Zena fo-!"

In a fit of fancy Callum had leaned back, thinking himself to be in a proper chair with a back, arms in the air and spread akimbo. Without anything to catch him the hybrid fell back onto the floor with a resounding 'thud!'. He cried out in surprise, but felt nothing in the way of pain. Callum's legs remained hooked on the bench, barely pulled away from their original position, but his torso was draped down onto the floor like a noble's cape.

The angle, plus his inebriated state, gave him the mother of all head rushes.

Say what now? Nimueh furrowed his eyebrows, mouth dropping partly open in surprise, leaning closer over the table. Wait - her? Wynne? But then why encourage it if he wanted her to leave? And why pretend to be drunk? Unamused, Nimueh grunted softly and shook his head, sighing. "A simple 'no' would have been enough - why the need to act so ridiculous?" He scolded, leaning back away from the wagging finger. His own head felt foggy, and his face felt flushed, pulse loud in his ears, but at least he hid it well. Now that the topic had been changed, he felt hungry, and more than a little sleepy.

One moment he was being corrected on how 'drunk' Cal was - the next the shifter had disappeared from view with a loud crash, taking the bench with him. Nim's eyes shot wide and he shot to his feet - only for his head to swim, unsteadily, at the sudden motion. Shaking himself, Nim shuffled out from his own bench and rounded the table, unable to catch the loud snort of laughter that broke from his throat. "Mmhmmm. 'Cause 'almost drunk' people fall off their benches ALL the time." He drawled, dryly, kneeling down and hooking one arm behind Callum's neck, grunting softly as he tugged him upright once more with a heave of his arms. Once there, however, he gripped Callum's arm and tugged it behind his head, his hand hooking under Callum's arm as he tugged him up to stand.

"Can you bring th'food to our room when it's ready? Thanks." Nimueh called, voice slightly slurring, to where Wynne was watching from the bar, barely able to restrain her laughter. Then, with as much steadiness as a tipsy Alkidike could handle when his limbs felt uncooperative, Nim tugged Callum towards the narrow stairwell that circled to the second floor, where the rooms were, pausing to hear from Wynne which room they could stay in.

Actually getting up stairs was the tricky part, as it was narrow, and Nim was big, especially with Callum to lug around with him.

"Just 'elp me up." Callum's voice, already slurred with drink, was consecutively broken by his own chuckling. Everything felt mostly fine from his spot on the floor, but when Nimueh put him to rights a bout of nausea hit him hard. Once up his body clenched, fighting against a reaction that no one wanted. Thankfully with a few deep breaths the feeling subsided; the sensation of spinning when standing still, however, did not. It was because of this that he didn't fight against Nimueh's assistance.

As they passed Wynne again, Callum grinned and tried to wave, which looked quite odd considering he'd been looping his lovers dreads through his fingers only a short moment ago. What resulted was such a hot mess that quite a few surrounding patrons got a laugh out of.

Mentally Callum was being very cooperative.

In reality his feet seemed to be trying to walk in a straight line, causing him to sway this way and that. He stumbled quite a few times, each one resulting in putting more of his weight on Nim than before. What was likely the biggest problem with an intoxicated Callum was his propensity for spewing whatever came to mind from his very loose lips. In not so subtle tones he went on (in a very slurred and broken dialect) about various things; cracks in the walls, how nice Nimueh smelt, how he wanted to bite his ear if it wasn't so far away...

"...an' I didn't tell 'er to go 'cause Wynne brough't'er over. S'at's rude."

Callum looked up at the narrow staircase as one might a particularly nasty sermal. He clucked his tongue, laid his head over and nodded. "...we're gonna haft ta go through the window."

"Or," a voice supplied from behind them. Nevah stood with her hip cocked, arms crossed under her bust with a little smirk. Beside her was a very large bear of a man who, while not as tall as Nimueh, could have easily fought off any predator with his bare hands. "Tomis can carry you up the stairs so you two don't break your necks trying."

Callum made a half turn, glaring with open distaste at Nevah. Lacking his usual grace and tact, he flashed her a very unsavory finger before breaking away from Nimueh to tackle the stairs on his own. Sheer determination got him up a few steps on his own before he dropped down to climb on all fours.

XDDNim is so awkward. I didn't know if you wanted me to play Tomas or not >3>

Nim couldn't help the frustration that continued to mount, wondering how on earth Callum could be so willfully ignorant of his confusing behavior. Even if he could trust that Callum meant nothing by it, it still enflamed a jealousy in Nimueh to see others trailing after him as Wynne was, still so oblivious as to their connection. At first, the fingers twining in his dreads were pleasing, even if Callum's drunken digits were more rough than usual - but soon as he gestured in a wave, Nim's head was yanked down sharply, and he nearly dropped Callum on his face in reaction to grapping at his scalp to lessen the soreness. Admittedly, it was more than satisfying to see her face shift with dawning realization, then amusement as Callum declared to the tavern at large any passing thought that flit through his head, not limited to his intent to nibble on Nim's ears. The declaration left the Alkidike flushing, but somehow pleased nonetheless that an unfiltered Callum had such sweet thoughts towards him.

For the most part, Nim fought his way to the stairs, merely hemming and hawing in agreement so his lover wouldn't pout about being ignored, only along with the slurred words came some manner of realization as to what had caused Cal's odd behavior. How ridiculous! Nim's features softened, and he snickered to himself in his amusement, only to hum when they were spoken to, turning to squint down at Nevah. He was feeling the drink himself, obviously, and the more he tried to move around the more it sank like a cloak onto his system - so as much as his pride wanted to lift his lover himself, he smartly looked at the large man that was Tomis, unable to deny the allure of some help. He released Callum so he could try and crawl his way up the steps. Admittedly, the crawling gave him a nice view of Callum's arse, which Nim admired shamelessly for a few moments, head tilted in appreciation, before he snapped out of it, and remembered himself. And the fact Callum was being quite rude to Nevah.

... Now that they were here though... Nimueh did want to punish Cal for his hypocritical jealousy, and too tipsy to realize what an awful idea it was, Nimueh smiled brightly down at Nevah (an odd sensation, as he rarely expressed himself so openly, instantly disliking the feel of it on his lips.) "I never would have thought of that! Thank you, Nevah - you're... you're SO clever and kind!" ... Then again, Nimueh didn't have quite the level of finesse his love did when it came to compliments, nor the delivery, as his voice was more stilted and somewhat theatrical to the point of ridiculousness. Grimacing at himself, and giving a bit of a shake to clear his foggy mind, Nim stepped back and cleared his throat, gesturing to Callum, who was struggling on the fifth step. "... Yes, please."

Nah, I've got Tomis. x3 You stick with Nim and his awkwardness lol.

Nevah stood apart from the pair, casting sidelong glances to Tomis and sharing a secret sense of amusement with the larger man. This may not have been what the young barmaid had planned for her evening, though she was far from arguing against it.

Tomis stepped forward only to come to a sort of awkward halt that rendered his lumbering footfalls quiet. As Callum attempted to ascend the staircase Tomis looked to Nevah for direction, then to Nim, and back to Nevah once more. He motioned to the slurring shifter with a quick nod of his head before shrugging his shoulders. What was he supposed to do? Intervene or...?

Tilting his head back with a frustrated sigh, Callum sat up, turning over onto his side to lean casually against the steps as if they were a chaise lounge. What ensued after such a feat was far from expected. Some part of his subconscious had assumed they would retreat to their room, have a chat, and maybe try to ride this out until sobriety claimed them.

Nimueh's smile, however, halted that. A possessive sort of envy consumed the intoxicated hybrid, and colored his already flushed skin an impressive scarlet. Why was he smiling that like to her? His lover never expressed himself that openly so the simple gesture was enough to raise a monsoon of warning flags for Callum.

Naturally, Nevah laughed and reached out to place a charmingly flirtatious hand upon Nimueh's arm. From her vantage point she could see the emotions running wild upon the paler man's face, which made her actions all the sweeter. Whatever game this tall drink of alkidike was playing she wanted in on it, however ill bred it may have been. "That's too kind of you, Nimmy." Callum's jaw clenched, and if she'd heard correctly the man seemed to be growling. Had he still been armed she might have rethought her strategy, though Nevah was on too much of a high to stop now.

She traced her index finger along his forearm, drawing herself in close enough that her chest brushed against his. "Tomis will see you both to your room. Tomorrow, when you're feeling better, I would love to be able to speak with you more."

All at once a great rush of activity was halted by the ever stalwart Tomis.

Empowered by drink and a bitter jealousy, Callum had attempted to pounce on Nevah. Unbeknownst to his focused gaze the thicker man had been watching him, eyeing the hybrid carefully so when he made his move he could intercept. And intercept he did. Callum leapt up from the stairs, which was quite a feet in his inebriated state, only slam against Tomis' outstretched forearm. The blow caught him in the gut, which immediately shifted his attention from Nevah to trying to keep the contents of said gut where they belonged.

Nevah stepped back and for a moment she seemed genuinely fearful. Though, the moment quickly passed and her smug smirk returned. "Careful now; you'll hurt yourself."

Callum very nearly would have spat on her if he wasn't focused on calming his stomach. He groaned when he was hoisted up into a pair of cerulean arms, and didn't bother trying to look behind them as Tomis ascended the staircase.

The man's pace was slower for his benefit as well as Callum's. It gave the hybrid a chance to settle himself. Somewhat. His emotions were still running wild, as Tomis no doubt was aware of, since Callum quite openly grumbled horrible things about the young barmaid on their way to the room. His head ached, his stomach ached, and Callum was royally, drunkenly pissed.

So, it came as little surprise that after fumbling with the key, Tomis deposited Callum into the room as quickly as possible. He made sure the younger man was settled in a chair nearest the window, per his request, before hastily shuffling his massive frame out of the room.

As much as Nim wanted to give Callum a taste of his medicine, he still felt a swell of guilt as soon as the words left his lips, and the urge to pull his arm away at her touch was strong. Her behavior reminded him so much of his sister, Buru, that he had to give her a quick, measuring stare, just to confirm that the she-beast hadn't somehow disguised herself as this barmaid. Before he could dwell on it TOO much, of course, Callum had leapt. The flurry of movement, in Nimueh's tipsy state, startled him, and he swung around to face him, face showing the sort of sullen guiltiness a child would at being caught playing a dangerous game.

Without pause, he pulled from Nevah and followed Tomis upstairs, gripping the edge of the stairwell for stability, somewhat ducking where his head brushed too close to the ceiling. He stood to the side by their room, mumbling a quiet thankyou to the large ice earthling as he ambled back downstairs, then slinked into the room, closing it quietly behind him, leaning his back against the door as he took in the room, and the form of Callum sitting grumpily in his chair by the window.

The room itself was small and somewhat cramped, but still utterly comfortable. The bed was covered in thick blankets, and although it didn't sport a fireplace of its own, the orange glow of candlelight from a lantern by the door made him feel warm nonetheless if only by association. The window was shuttered against the heavy snow outside, but cold seeped through the thick wood regardless. Perhaps sitting by the windows, in his overheated and drunken state felt good, but Nim still worried for Callum's health. Stepping slowly from the door, Nim hesitated by the bed then drew one of the thicker blankets off it of, crossing to Callum's chair and draping it over his shoulders and arms. It was ridiculous that he should feel ashamed at his comment earlier, when Callum's flirting had been just as blatant - but the reaction had surprised him. Callum was passionate, yes, but it didn't seem like him to leap at someone with the intent to injure - what if Tomis hadn't caught him? Maybe Nevah would have stepped back, and Callum would have crumpled to the floor in a heap, but he might have landed on her and -- and what? Obviously, Nimueh's jab at worked, but he hadn't expected such a fierce reaction from it!

Biting his lip, Nimueh decided against bringing it up just yet.

Quite while we're ahead? Oh no, never!
Muhahahaha

Unable to keep his stiff posture for long, Callum sank down into the thick wooden seat only to lean forward with his head down, arms laid casually over his thighs. The chair itself was well worn with most of the edges rounded off into gentle slopes. Had he been in a state to appreciate the lack of sharpened edges Callum might have enough the seat; as it was he was fighting a losing battle to keep the room from spinning. When he moved to hold his hand in his left palm, the hand closest to the window itself, his thumb caught in the hoop of his earring. He tugged on it a bit, trying to will his hand up while avoiding the odd pain in his ear before giving the act up all together.

It came with no small amount of shock to find himself suddenly enveloped in fur, but the warmth it brought elicited a contented murmur from the shifter. He turned his head to look up at his lover, really look at him, as best he could. Reaching up for Nimueh's hands he gently tugged the younger male forward in an attempt to con his alkidike into sitting on his lap.

A smarter man may have saved this conversation for another day, or perhaps, even until the next day when minds were cleared. Callum, however, was no such man. As his inebriated state edged away from it's prime he began to think on that evening more and more. "Do you like 'er? ...s'okay if ya do...I guess."

I am queen of long overdue tags =_=

Guilty though he was, Nimueh still released a soft, surprised laugh at the gentle tug, and though he wanted to soothe Callum, he didn't think they could both fit in the chair, at least without crushing Callum. Instead, he allowed himself to be tugged, then carefully sank to kneel on the ground infront of him, letting the shifter hold his hand while the other continued to primp and tuck the blanket into a firm position.

Once he was settled, Nim rose his head and looked back at his shifter, ducking his head to press a kiss to Callum's cold knuckles. The question was a surprise, considering the nature of the entire evening, and though he felt that guilt still swirling within him, his initial reaction was to raise his eyebrows and shoot him a measuring look. "I don't know - how much do you like Wynne?" The question was meant to be airy, a sort of innocent question - but it came out more petulant and pouty than he had intended. Once he realized the tone, Nimueh flinched and ducked his head, instead hiding it by laying it in Callum's lap, squeezing his hand and bringing it to his lips.

Nah man, it's chill. xD

Callum made a murmur of dissatisfaction when his lover didn't comply, though he was mollified by Nimueh's chosen position. Instead of falling against his lover Callum sank further into the chair, now reveling in the warmth of the blank with the back of his head propped up by the back of the chair itself. He raised his left leg, drawing his calf against Nimueh's thigh before turning his ankle in, not so subtly encouraging the alkidike closer.

The question that was shot back at him, however, still the sultry aura that had picked up over Callum. He was stunned into a sort of drunken pause that forced him to blink multiple times, brow furrowing as if the question were beyond his comprehension. What did Wynne have to do with this? "She's alright. Niiiccce girl, 'melled good." He groaned and leaned his head back, rolling his eyes up to the ceiling. "We're not gonna get the discount now are we? Af'r I-" Callum exhaled. He rolled his head just enough to peep at Nimueh, noting the almost petulant way his lover was...behaving...

Oh.

OH.

"Nim, it's not...it's not like that." Callum sat up a little straighter, bring his free hand up to rest on Nimueh's shoulder while he placed his own head against the other's. He nuzzled his face among dark dreadlocks, reveling in their scent, and the sensation of them against his cheek. His leg fell away from around his lover's hip so that Callum could envelope the younger man in an all encompassing embrace. "She was nice, and I jus' thought we could get a lil' coin shaved off." For Callum it had been second nature. A drifter's lifestyle had left him no other choice than to use his naturally flirtatious attitude to his advantage. Knowing that this was the reason Nimueh was upset with him caused Callum's blood to clot.

"Never 'gain."
He murmured. "I'll be better, so don't be sad, okay? Wynne's blue like you, but she isn't you. She's too short, she's a she, she doesn't have marking, either. You know, Wynne's pretty dull compared to you, but I'm not going to compare because I don't like her like that, just you."

Just having this simple intimacy was more reassuring than Nim could ever have expected. Even with as upset as Callum was, their contact was easy and open and so sweet that Nim almost melted then and there, convinced that his previous cattiness had been horribly paranoid and out of turn.

Which made the long, awkward pause after his accusation all the more painful, even if it was following the gentle reprimand Callum had given for his own 'flirting'. Then again... at first, his partner's response was to talk about her smell, of all things. Jealousy burned brightly in his belly, and if Nim wasn't already hiding his face he would have out of pure emotion. Callum said it so simply, as if... wait, discount? Flushing purple with horrified realization, Nim continued to hide his face against the blanket at Callum's knees, not caring that his cowering was pretty childish as far as reactions went.

On the one hand, flirting to get a discount seemed so... underhanded! But... on the OTHER other hand... should Nimueh have known? After the jealousy that Callum had shown, way back when they met up again? Or... the rabid behavior when Nim had flirted back? Of course, for the alkidike, who normally kept his emotions more reigned in, of course his shifter would have been startled by the change... how foolish! And didn't that show how much faith Nim had in him?

As upset as he was, though, Callum's hurried assurances, once he realized just what had happened, did soothe his jealousy, just as the touch to his shoulder, and gentle nuzzle to his hair sent happy, satisfied shivers down his arms. This was what Nimueh adored most, when his smaller lover still held onto him so protectively. And the words? Would have been much sweeter, but Callum's normal grace was fractured by his tipsiness, and the words he chose to soothe Nimueh with... well. 'Blue like you?' Before he could stop it, Nim choked on an abrupt laugh, turning to nuzzle his face into the crook of the shifter's arm, smiling crookedly.

"Mmm...no... Should've trusted you." He finally admitted, guiltily, although his words came out muffled against his lover's arm.

"Are you laughing?" Callum tried to form a pout, but all that came out was a childlike chortle. He turned his head against Nim's, nuzzling his nose in close to the scalp so he could blow a raspberry in his lover's dreads. "I'm bein' serious and you're laughing. You're such a butt."

He moved his hand down Nim's bicep, and back up in a calming, affectionate rub. "How 'bout you just trust me now and..." Callum shrugged his shoulders. To him so long as his lover wasn't upset with him anymore then it was a good night.

"Come on; it's time for bed. I'm older so I know these things." There wasn't any desire in that tone, just a genuine want to cuddle up in a warm, secure space and fall asleep beside the man he loved. "Unless you want to sleep like that."

A guilty quirk of his lips was all that Nim offered in answer to his lover's question at first, though eventually he released a soft hum in agreement. The evening had been tiring, even before the emotional lurch that was check-in, so now that the thumping of his heart had begun to settle, he felt the weariness of the road hanging off him like a shroud.

"Oh, yes. So old and wise." Nim retorted dryly, eyes squeezing slightly in the impression of a smile, before he obeyed and rose, creakily, from his knees, releasing an exaggerated groan of effort. Then, with the ease his long limbs afforded him, Nim tugged Callum upwards from his chair and towards the bed, remembering only distantly to release him long enough to wrestle himself out of the snow-heavy boots and coat. Once comfortably dressed down, the alkidike flopped down onto the bed on his belly, nuzzling his face greedily into the pillows, and spreading his limbs to deny Callum his space.

Only after a few moments of happily shuffling into place did Nim crack open a lid and tilt his head to peek out of an amber eye at his partner, smirking against the blankets. He was tired too, and ready to give up his playing, but after the last hour he wanted to reaffirm the easy-going rapport he and Callum usually had - and there was no better way to drift off than after a playful scuffle.
