 Tamandani was pleased that the golden eyed freshling wasn't afraid of her, or afraid to tell her what she wanted. It was the Imp that was afraid, but the professor seemed sure that with her help and the help of her friend Maylis could grow to be a confident young woman.
She blinked a little at the thoughts in her own mind. Had it been that easy? She had been expecting to agonize over a decision of who to adopt, but it seemed as though these two had made the decision for her. "Well, I think spider ornaments are an excellent idea," she said with a bright smile. "And my tree at home is without one! Would you two like to help me make one? I'm Tamandani by the way, but you can call me Dani."

 Crux beamed up at her. "Of course! I'm Crux, and I already said but this is Maylis. She's really shy, but she's my best friend!" So far her plan was working, but she wanted to make sure this lady knew that if she was going to adopt one of them, she had to adopt both. "What color spider do you wanna make? Mine is going to be green," she said, ushering Maylis back into the craft room while Tamandani followed. "Maylis always makes her stuff purple or blue." She led the adult to the table the girls had previously been working at and pushed the box of pipe cleaners toward her.

 Maylis was still nervous, but it seemed as though this Nightmare, Tamandani, liked them. She tried not to get her hopes up, but Crux seemed sure of what was going to happen so she put her trust in her friend. "Um... To make the s-spider, you push the p-pipe cleaners into this s-styrofoam b-ball. O-oh but you should p-paint it first!" She blushed hard; she was so bad at giving instructions. She hoped Dani didn't get frustrated with her like most everyone else did. She chewed her lip nervously, waiting for it, but Dani only smiled and was patient with her.

It might not have seemed it, but Crux was nervous. She really wanted this lady to be the one who adopted them. So far everything seemed to go good, and the little hybrid relaxed further when she saw how patient the older Nightmare was with Maylis. Her best friend even started to relax as Dani got her to help make the ornament. It was then that she knew approaching Dani had been a good idea. She let Maylis have the older hybrid's attention while she got the smaller styrofoam balls and the googly eyes. They would need them to finish their projects. Though maybe if this worked out, they'd be hanging their spiders on Dani's tree instead of the one in the main room.

Tamandani didn't need any more time to think about this. She would adopt both girls, and she was already sure they would make a great family together. She had even managed to get Maylis to come out of her shell a little more. The girls seemed to like her, and she certainly liked both of them. There would be bad days, she knew, but she also knew that they would be able to overcome anything life sent their way.
"Would you girls like it if I adopted you? Both of you, of course. I wouldn't want to break up best friends." When both girls beamed and hugged her, she knew she had her answer. She would begin the paperwork tonight before she left.
