Claire's phone dinged as the email arrived, but all she did was glance down at her pocket before returning her attention to Lorenzo. She pinkened at his praise; while not completed assuaged of her doubts in this meeting, it was nice (according to him at least) that she had managed to be helpful. The most important thing, perhaps, was providing moral support for other guardians, and eventually for the Raevans themselves by way of these connections. His rusalka now had a potential acquaintance in her leshy, if they were both willing, and a warmth spread in Claire's chest as she thought about it.

She really hoped they could become friends.

"I'm glad, then, that I can help there." She smiled, fingers tapping against her empty soup bowl, and she glanced down. "How are you for scones, then? I make some pretty good cranberry ones, if I do say so myself. And thankfully powdered sugar-free." As she was trying to remember how to make Devonshire cream, he offered up his own talent for pamphlets and she giggled. "I don't have anything worth putting into a pamphlet. I could pass it on to my husband though - they could always use the help at his family's company, thank you. I'll put in the good word." She hummed in content as she extended his offer for a good recommendation right back to him.

"Scones would be great," Lorenzo said warmly. "Really though, It's been a pleasure to meet you. A-and it's been very reassuring. When the rusalka comes, I'll be sure to let you know. And your raevan! Let me know when they come."

It was strange, though he had a vague idea of the rusalka and the leshy, he supposed that neither of them really knew what the rusalka and the leshy would be like as raevans. He had been imagining the rusalka to look just like she had in Russia, but Claire talking like she was getting a baby, and carefully avoiding gendered terms reminded him that the process was far more random than resurrecting someone traditionally- he didn't even know if the rusalka would still be a girl.

It made him nervous to think about. He liked to know what to expect. He liked to prepare.

"I hope they can be friends," he repeated. "I'm sure they will be."

He got up, and said, "If anything else comes up, you can text me too, of course! I'm usually fairly busy with work, but I make my own schedule." That was the nice thing about being self-employed, even if his career was demanding. "And if you need to know anything more about Slavic folklore- I mostly deal with death gods and such, but you never know. At the very least I can connect you to some academic libraries."

He extended a hand and flashed a professional smile. "Until next time?"

"I feel the same." Claire felt some of her anxieties about her impending Raevan put to rest in her conversation with Lorenzo. Like company helped in getting through a situation, as as much as she considered herself fairly independent, a good bit of reassurance never went amiss. In this case especially, where their soon-to-be Raevans had a few key similarities. "But please, keep me posted on when your Raevan arrives too! I'm eager to meet her."

Their meeting was drawing to a close, and Claire took in a fluttery breath and rose as he did. While their food had been paid for at the counter, she fished some extra money out of her purse and tucked it beneath her empty coffee mug. It was the least she could do for such good food. She mused on Lorenzo's repeated words with a smile as she drew her coat around herself. If anything, they were well matched in their pre-preemptive worrying, but was that not the job of a parent - to worry? Perhaps it was something that their two Raevans could groan about together someday, as young ones were apt to do. Worrying parents were terribly uncool.

"Thank you," she replied with a bright smile. "Let me know if there's anything else I can help with aside from plying you with baked goods. And if you need an escape from the city, you're always welcome to stop by." She chuckled, pausing to shrug. "Who knows? Maybe when that time rolls around, there might be a few tag-alongs on either end." Her hand reached for Lorenzo's, already extended as he smiled back, and her own expression was filled with warmth.

"Until next time, Lorenzo," she replied with a firm shake.
