Chase laughed, a loud manic laugh that echoed off of their surrounding and filled the otherwise quiet night. "Fine," he agreed before his entire appearance rippled and changed. Gone was the leather jacket and helmet and instead, a black cloak swamped his tall, lanky frame and the rest of the black was replaced with blue, pink, and white.
Chase no longer stood before her, instead, she was greeted by General Labyrinthite, who reached up and pushed his hood back so that his face was exposed. Entirely the same, but different, from the person she'd so desperately wanted to see. "You can't cheat when there are no rules," he told her, grin still stretched across his face as he invaded her space. "I asked for a race, you didn't ask for rules. Where did I cheat?" He asked, head cocking and whiskey eyes drifting across her features before they dropped to the space above her heart.
"I won and now I'm going to collect my winnings," he stated, hand jerking and sliding into the subspace where her starseed rested. "This is going to hurt Katrina, but not for long." Then, he opened the channel and let chaos pour from him to her.

The thundering in her chest stopped. Everything stopped. The entire street seemed to go still and all she could hear were the words that followed his laughter. It wasn't often that Katrina Halloran experienced fear; at least not in the same sense that others did. The sort of things that terrified other people (heights, speed, daredevil antics) were nothing more than a game to her. This? This was real. This was real and it was happening to her. He was right. Everything that he said was right and real. She hadn't asked. She should have asked. Her mind was racing, trying to find an out, but his hand was in her chest. His... Hand... "Please..." She glanced up at him frantically, hand coming up to claw at his arm as her expression turned from fear and panic to one of excruciating pain. Katrina screamed as the chaos began to fill her; waking her up and changing her.

In truth, Labyrinthite enjoyed inflicting fear into people whether it were passerby's, enemies, or even his fellows in the Negaverse. While he was not one who wished to rule through fear, he did understand that with fear came with a kind of respect that would hold until actual respect was founded. Fear he could build into awe and wonder, if it was within the right person.
And oh, he found Katrina to be that person.
"Begging isn't attractive," he scolded, feigning disappointment as he pushed the chaos into her starseed, feeling it change her-- watching as her clothing shifted from her riding outfit to a uniform. When the change wasn't just a flickering shift, but something solid-- when her aura flared beside his --he released her, looking terribly pleased with himself.
Katrina had such potential, just like Wolfetite had, and under his tutelage, she would flourish.
"Welcome to the Negaverse my dear Lieutenant," he paused, gaze drifting across her uniform before he'd picked a name. "Tourmaline." He stepped back, energy seeping from him as he closed the channel and took a moment to appreciate his handy work.
"You're very special and that's why I picked you."

Katrina swayed on her feet as the General drew back, fighting against the pain that had ravaged through her in order to stay on her feet. She made it for a moment, wobbling again before her legs gave out beneath her and she dropped to her knees. Bits of gravel and road dust clung to her tights, tiny pieces of asphalt digging in. She'd worn leathers that night for the race. How...? She wasn't afraid anymore. The pain had taken that from her, leaving her with a power that she could feel coursing through her. She couldn't explain it, wouldn't be able to explain anything about the race that night or the events that had followed. The only thing that she knew, the only thing that seemed to make sense was the sing song rhyme in the back of her head. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. Her general did sound so satisfied with himself she thought as she pushed herself up with a soft groan. One boot against the asphalt, one hand against a knee. Push. She stood wearily, aching but determined to prove to him that she was still strong. "Tourmaline. I like the sound of that," her voice was low, scratchy from her scream. "What should I call you?"

Labyrinthite liked her uniform, liked the, despite different shades, pink that adorned it because it loosely matched his. After a long time of going without a solid team, he was building one, and the man couldn't have been prouder of that fact. Especially since, with these last two, he picked carefully and for specific reasons.
Katrina and Archer had raw potential and Labyrinthite couldn't wait to exploit and shape it. They were his and they would make him proud.
"It's fitting," he commented, reaching out to smooth the planes of her coat. "I am General Labyrinthite. From now on, you report to me. You'll have to listen to the orders of other generals and to a degree captains, but unless it is one of our General-Queens, you listen to me first and foremost. Understand?"
If she swore loyalty to him, he'd take care of her. He took care of his own. "I'll be your guide Torumaline, with my help I do not doubt that you will flourish."

The part of her that was still seething about the race wanted to smack his hand away and challenge his authority. Considering what he had just done to her, she thought better of it and resisted. If she smarted off now he might regret everything he'd just given her and if giving hurt that much she didn't want to think of how much it might hurt to have that power stripped away. "Understood," she responded without hesitation and somehow managed not to sound surprised at her eagerness. Her body still felt like she had been in a wreck, but that didn't keep her from smirking softly after a moment. "... Does that mean you're going to show me how you pulled that disappearing act? Sir?"

"Excellent," he chirped, sounding like a proud parent.
"Why not," he replied, considering the places where he could take her. He could take her to the rift, like he had Wolfetite but while he could sense a hunger within her, he wanted to save it for another time.
Instead, he had a different place in mind when he grabbed Tourmaline by her upper arm. "I'll demonstrate first hand," he told her, a gleam in his eye before he blinked and the parking lot was abandoned save for their bikes.
