✘✘Separation✘✘ [Time Skip: Year 9]
Eight years had led up to this moment. Delilah and Endora had become so close, talking for hours as they literally spent every moment together in her head. At times, Delilah had begged that Endora not be just a figment of her imagination. She wanted Endora to be real so badly. In fact, she had decided somewhere along the way that she would help Endora obtained her own body so they could truly be together. Delilah had discovered notes by Dr. Broken about how Manes and Malices worked, explaining how it was possible for a separation to occur between the spirit and host. Delilah had been determined and they had tried everything to get Endora enough power to create her own body. Nothing was working, she was just too weak. Delilah had spent the last 3 years creating plans for a machine that could effectively extract Endora's soul from her own and place it in a created body that Delilah had made for her. She was careful to make it exactly how Endora remembered herself and made her about the same age as herself so age would not be a problem.
The preparations were just about done now, it had definitely been a labor of love and caused Delilah to spend many sleepless nights in the lab to make sure she could finish it as soon as possible.
Are you sure this will work? I'm scared it will hurt you...
'This is fool-proof. I made sure every calculation was perfect.'
It's based in theory, Lily. This might not even work.
'We won't know until we try.'
Why are you doing this? It's going to hurt you, isn't it?
'I don't care. I need to see you.... I... I need to be with you, Endora.'
There was silence, but Delilah knew that meant she accepted her words on the matter. Of course she did, Endora wanted the same thing. The machine was ready as Delilah flicked switches on the control panel and checked the readings. Everything was looking good, everything according to plan. She looked over the massive thing, a control panel in the middle of two giant cylinders. One of them already housed a female body ready for the procedure. The other one was empty and the door was open, waiting for her.
'Once I start this... I won't be able to stop it.... Are you ready?'
.....yes.
Delilah took a deep breath and stepped inside the empty cylinder. She leaned over and hit a button on the control panel and laid back into the hub as the door closed. Her heart was pounding as the whirr of the machine deafened her thoughts. Then the pain began. Delilah let out a fragile scream as she could feel Endora's soul being ripped right out of her own. She latched her hands onto her arms and thrashed about in the cylinder as the pain was too much to bear, tears filling her eyes quickly. "ENDORA!!" she screamed out as she sobbed loudly from the agony. She was sure she had lost consciousness at some point as the whirring of the machine died down and the both doors opened. Both of them falling to the ground before them. Delilah forced her eyes to open slightly as she weakly pushed herself up from the ground. She had no strength but kept on anyway, practically dragging herself to Endora and sat against the machine, pulling the girl into her arms to hold her. "H-hey... a-are you o-okay?.... d-did it w-work?" It was silent for a bit then Endora began to stir, opening her eyes weakly to look up at Delilah and smiled. "..h-hey there... Lily." Delilah smiled, overjoyed that Endora seemed okay. "H-how do y-you feel?" Endora winced a little, "My chest hurts.. but other than that I'm fine. You know, I never knew you were so pretty." Delilah was tearing up in joy as she chuckled, "S-shutup you.." Delilah leaned down to kiss Endora deeply, as she seemed to only continue it, placing a hand to Delilah's face softly. "I love you, Endora.." Delilah whispered softly, brushing some hair from Endora's face. "I love you too, Lily.. so much." Endora placed her forehead against Delilah's and began to laugh weakly, and Delilah joined in. They laughed, happier than ever that they could finally be together. They had finally done it.

✘✘Grief of the Heartbroken✘✘ [Time Skip: Year 11]
It took a lot of time for Endora to get used to her new body. It was a slow process, and it didn't help that Endora's soul was already very weak. If she wasn't careful, her soul would become to fragile and begin to reject her body, something that happened if Delilah accidentally touched her for too long or if she accidentally used her powers on her in a fit of strong emotions. Delilah couldn't get too sad or too excited, either would start to affect Endora. Over the first year, Endora helped her control her emotions and Delilah showed her what it was like to live again. Endora even helped Delilah with her speech and you could barely notice that she had an impediment in the first place. They talked a lot and knew everything about each other. Endora tended to the outer grounds, being fairly good at gardening as Delilah would tend to inner buildings. Things were perfect for them. Endora never minded to stay alone with Delilah. They preferred the company of each other.
It wasn't until after one year that Endora's health began to decline. She seemed to harbor guilt like she was responsible causing Delilah emotional pain over her condition. It wasn't long before Endora was completely bed ridden. Delilah had found a wheelchair to help Endora get around at times when she needed to get sun. Her health was on and off. Some days, she had enough energy to even walk for a bit and do quite a bit, other days she couldn't even lift her head from the bed at all. It was hard for Delilah because when she was weak, Endora needed her but her powers were only making it worse, and on the good days, she could spend time with her but only so long before yet again her powers would get in the way.
Delilah had begun reworking the machine that extracted the soul, to now take away her powers so that she could no longer hurt Endora. It was almost complete by adjusting things here and there. She waited until Endora was asleep to sneak away to the lab. She begun the process just as she had before, except it was only her this time. As the machine started in, the pain felt worse than she had remembered. She screamed out, shutting her eyes tightly. An alarm began to sound within the cylinder. Delilah opened her eyes in panic, and began to bang on the door. 's**t s**t s**t! No!' Something must not have gone wrong, but no her calculations were right, they had to be. Her heart was pounding out of her chest and the pain was so much she struggled to stay conscious. She closed her eyes, accepting her fate. 'Well, this is how I die...' she assumed. Then an unfamiliar sound rung out, banging. Delilah opened her eyes to see Endora through the window of the door. "Endora! No! Get back!!!" she screamed out, unsure of what would happen. For all she knew, the machine was about the explode with her in it. Endora was saying something through the door, but she couldn't hear her as Endora began to flip switches on the control panel. "Endora!! Don't! STOP!!!" The machine was beginning to smoke now, this wasn't good. "RUN!!" Endora began to pull cords in the back of the machine until it finally began to power down. Endora sighed and put a hand on the window of the door, smiling at Delilah. Delilah smiled back with a sigh of relief, placing a hand in the same place on the glass. Endora unlatched the door and opened it but gasped in horror as the floor quickly began to grow black and was spreading fast across the entire floor. "D-delilah! What are you doing?! Stop!!!" she cried out, stumbling backwards onto the floor in panic. Delilah was horrified at what was happening, her chest was tight and her stomach hurt bad. "I-i... I can't stop it! Endora!!" she shrieked frantically. "Y-you have to run!!!" Endora couldn't move, she was already too weak to attempt running and the black was already beginning to cover her. Delilah didn't know what to do, was it even possible to run far enough away to stop affecting Endora. Delilah had to do something, anything, as she ran upstairs and out the door, but as she laid eyes on the grounds, the entire academy was covered in black, possibly much farther than the gates, the plants were dying fast. At this rate, Endora would be dead way before she could possibly reach even the gates and who knows how much farther she'd have to run.
Delilah knew there was nothing she could do, tears filling her eyes as she reluctantly forced herself back down into the lab as fast as she could, throwing herself to the ground and scooped up Endora into her arms. "imsorryimsorryimsorryimsorry oh god i-i'm so sorry." she whimpered, holding her as tightly as possible. Endora was crying, she was obviously in pain but she smiled. "No, I'm sorry... I was only being a burden to you, my love. It's okay... I'm ready for this." Delilah was sobbing loudly as she heard her speak. "No, don't say that! I've loved every moment I s-spent with you. Don't you dare apologize for that! T-this is..... all my f-fault." Endora placed a hand on her face, just like she had the first time they met face-to-face. "My darling Lily. I'm glad you enjoyed our time together. It was a surprise that it even lasted this long. If it weren't for you, I'd have died a long time ago. So thank you... for saving my miserable soul... and giving me something to live for. I love you, Lily........... Please..." Delilah gripped even tighter, "I... I l-love y-you..E-endora.." she whispered as she pulled back and kissed her deeply one last time. Endora smiled at her through immense pain and closed her eyes tightly. Delilah took a deep shaky breath as she let go of Endora slowly, moving on top of her and gripping both hands around her throat. Her chest hurt more than she could bear as she squeezed as tight as she could, tears completely overwhelming her face. Delilah's stomach churned hard as Endora's body finally went limp. Delilah could already feel she wasn't breathing through her laced fingers. She was gone.
Delilah came to a slow stand and faced the machine. Anger filling her eyes as the black began to whip around her. She took up pipe and began to bash into the machine. Letting out all her anger on it. Not even thinking for a second that what was happening might be permanent and that the machine would be the only way to save herself. She didn't care. After the machine had been destroyed enough that even she probably wouldn't be able to repair it, she dropped the pipe on the ground. A metal clang ringing out throughout the complete silence of the laboratory. Delilah picked up Endora into her arms and walked her to the back of the lab where she placed her in one of the large cylinders that they held bodies for future creation or experiments. Delilah slumped down against the tank and closed her eyes weakly, ready to pass out. "I-i'm.. going to f-find a w-way... to b-bring you b-back. I will f-find you a-again.. m-my love..."

✘✘Echoes✘✘ [Time Skip: Year 12]
It had been a year since the incident, her powers had subsided after about a week after it all happened. Since that time, Delilah had relearned how to keep control of her emotions and powers. She vowed to never let it happen again. As well as never experiment so heavily with things out of her control again. She went back to her usual routine of things by cleaning around about the buildings but left the outside as is, she could do nothing about that without Endora. At night, she slept in the laboratory and read the same old science journal's to Endora's body. She couldn't bare to give up on Endora. Maybe she'd come back on her own. Maybe Delilah could come up with another way to draw her soul back, if it was even possible, if her soul was still even alive.
She would often dream about Endora, asleep leaned against the tank that held her. About their time together, the many times they were intimate despite the risks, about how they could have lived if she was still here.
Delilah...
Delilah was startled awake as she craned her neck to look at the tank. Endora was still dead. Delilah frowned. 'No no no, please don't.'
Delilah..
Delilah held her head in her hands. "I g-guess... I d-deserve this... the e-echoes of her v-voice..." Delilah forced a small laugh. She had read about this, that the echoes of the spirits could linger if the host and spirit were closely attached. It was only a matter of time before her voice would start to echo within her mind. She just had to remind herself, that it wasn't the real Endora. It was just a memory of who she was. "...h-hey there... e-endora.." she choked out.
Delilah..
Delilah was fighting back tears as she was shaking and a lump formed in her throat. "...w-what is i-it?.."
...i'm sorry...
Delilah's stomach churned hard as she hugged herself tightly and curled up on the floor. Her heart felt like it had literally shattered into a thousand pieces as she tried really hard not to cry. Delilah then took a deep breath shoved her emotions down as hard as she could, her face becoming completely deadpan. "Y-yeah.... I k-know."

✘✘Loneliness is a Disease✘✘
When Xeizii gets too sick, I choose to leave for a night or two. I've been trying not to stay at the laboratory as much, as to not draw too much suspicion. And I know I could very well just stay in an unoccupied dorm room if I needed to, but somehow I always end up at the wall near the gate. I stay far enough in that no one can see me if they pass by through the gates. I like to sit against the wall and watch the clouds roll by the sky. Lately, it's been unusually silent in my mind. Endora hasn't said much, and I suppose that worries me. I feel so lonely, even with people around me and only Endora understood that. But now she's gone.
Last night, I heard someone on the other side of the wall. They knew I was there. I wanted to leave, but something beckoned me to stay. The wall is far too high for me to see who's there, I can barely see over it standing on my toes anyway. It was a girl's voice. She talked like she knew me. I wanted to hope it was Endora. Maybe she had come back to me. I'm hesitant but curious. We ended up just talking about nothing in particular. Something just seems so familiar, but for once, I can't put my finger on it. That fact alone drives me crazy.
The girl said she can't come in because of a barrier against people like her. I'm angry that I can't understand what she means. Even so, Rhun never mentioned any kind of barrier over the school to me. I can't believe I'm even humoring him with calling him by that name now. I ended up falling asleep against the wall, and when I woke up, she was gone.
Maybe if I go back again tonight, I can ask more questions. Maybe... I can try to see her this time. I'm scared I'll hurt her with these powers of mine. But part of me just has to know. Who is she?

✘✘Invitation✘✘ Delilah knocked on the door of the Head Master’s office and entered without waiting for a response. ”We n-need to t-talk.” Rasiel hesitated as he reached for the mask reflexively then stopped as Delilah entered, still contemplating putting it on anyway to hide the scar on his face. Frowning he decided against it and settled into a cold but concerned look. ”I thought you wanted nothing to do with me.”Delilah paused with a slight bit of alarm on her face than faded into a glare as she narrowed her eyes at him, taking in the view of his scar. She sighed and shook her head. ”Important…”Rasiel kept his eyes focused on her as he waited for her to explain. She sighed in frustration at herself then began into sign language, not giving pause to make sure Rasiel even still knew how to read it. /Sanctuary has been invited to sit in on a parley between the renegade and a military research facility./ she paused. ”SIU..”Rasiel was trying to keep up with her hand motions, having been a while since he’d have had to sign with someone. His eyes widened and quickly narrowed as he exhaled shakily. A meeting between his once husband, Zaku, likely.. and the facility that took his daughter. Surely he knew that. Was he trying to get her back? He interlaced his fingers and leaned forward at the desk./We should decline. It’s too risky./”You should accept.”/Are you insane? I’m not going to be any good at talking to people like this!/”Then I’ll accept.”/Now I know you’ve gone crazy. That’s even worse./”We have to accept.”/No we don’t./”I’m still accepting.”/WHY?/ she sighed with an audible noise of frustration. ”No!””Melody’s father…. My ex-husband…””NO.””..please..”Delilah clenched her teeth in anger and glared at him. She make another, much louder noise of frustration. Then took a deep breath closing her eyes. /Fine. Then I’m sitting with you. There is no way I’m going to let you accept and make a fool of yourself in front of them./ She opened her eyes to stare with sternness at him. ”..s-someone has to k-keep you in c-check…” She then sighed once more in defeat.Rasiel forced a slight smile, ”Thank you…”/Thank me later when we don’t end up in the ensuing crossfire of the starting war that we were invited to watch. Nothing about this is good, Rasiel. But I won’t let you do this alone./Rasiel nodded then closed his eyes to think. Nothing good ever came of things like this, but it was worth a shot to go. Maybe he could help. Or make it worse. He was nervous, this could be the breakthrough the renegade had hoped for. Or it could be the kindling to the inevitable wildfire this could become. He sighed then looked to Delilah. ”Thank you for the information, we shall start preparing for it immediately. I expect more details on my desk about this parley before the end of the day so I can further discuss with you what we can do."Delilah nodded then turned to leave. She dreaded everything about this situation, about the parley and everything that entailed within. But she couldn’t let him accept it alone to be found out and ordered to be killed. At least that much she owed him.✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖ ✖

✘✘Broken Machine✘✘
I found him. Oh god, I found him again.
I could never forget him. He always understood. It had been ages, but it felt so worth it to see him face to face again.
He wants me to stay and then the regret sets in. Not because I regret finding him, no. Regret that I never looked back on trying to stop this cursed power of mine that drives away the people close to my heart. It isn't fair.
And then the anger comes.
I feel so hopeless and desperate for an answer. Maybe there's still a way. It's possible. The notes are still in the lab, I could try again. The machine is fixable.
Too risky. There are people there now. I lost my chance. This is my fate.
Part of me wishes I'd died out there by that man who attacked me.
Maybe I'd be less of a burden on everyone.
No one would miss me.
They didn't before. This is no different.

✘✘Pacifist at Heart✘✘
I had to use my powers, and I regret it.
I was never meant for fighting like this. Michael may be more suited to it with the renegades, but I am not. My powers are strong, but my stature is weak. I never really wanted to leave Sanctuary, but I had to make sure he was okay. Even as a protector, I still worry that I will fail them, like I failed to protect Alice. I could have helped, but I froze up, I couldn't move. I dream about it often, how I just watched her fly off, only to come back as a corpse.
That should have been me.
There is the possibility that I could stronger, but would it be worth it. Is it worth all the death that occurs from fighting. I have nothing to fight for. So what's the point. I can't stop them if they came for Michael. If anything, I'd only drag him down and he'd get killed trying to protect me since I can't protect myself.
I couldn't even stop that man from attacking me. All the knowledge in the world, and in the heat of battle, it is utterly useless. How do I face these foes armed with only words and a sense of misplaced superiority? This is futile.
I should have just stayed.
I've been a horrible friend to Xeizii... I should go back.

✘✘She Matters✘✘
Her name is Paige.
The name of a servant child.
No more.
It was honestly a phenomenon to have her merely appear within Michael's bedroom. So small and frail. Her eyes held the stars to my whole universe and I instantly fell in love with such a fragile flame of swirling color and delicate stature. She reminds me of a time too far in the past to care. She was alone, though she'd come from an unpleasant place. Iron inhibitors fused to flesh and a brittle personality that would eventually blossom into someone who could steal my very breath with awe and wonder with just one look.
Michael and I talked for a long while on what to do with her. In the end, we mutually decided to adopt her. Michael dotes on her often, and we both look forward to her future studies.
There was a time I honestly hated children. Who knew such a petite smile could brighten my entire life. Give me a reason to fight, a reason to keep going no matter the obstacle. I was lost in darkness, and she is my shining beacon of hope in this cruel world.
Michael and I also discussed her safety. We decided it best she and I go back to Sanctuary until she's old enough to come back. Hopefully, by then we won't have to fight anymore and we can just be a family. In the meantime, I have to get back to Xeizii. I'm sure Paige will be delighted to meet him. I have no doubts she can help me make his possible last moments in this life the most memorable. Michael says that his father will take us there. I should prepare our things.
I don't want to leave Michael, but it won't be long.
I will be back.
