"Cody, please." He signaled to the barkeep, ordering another round for them both. "I don't woo." He smiled. "But one night and you'll be the last thing on her mind, and then you'll be happy, hm?" Another glass of bourbon was put in front of both of them, and Hurst made a motion to indicate that it was going on his tab.

Sergei downed the next shot and laughed a bit.
In a sort of small chuckling scoff combination.
"I highly doubt." He looked up at Cooper, "But you are free to try, my friend."
kind of weird to push Olga off on some other dude though, and he just sipped his alcohol again. If she would even take cooper at all....

Hurst made a mocking sound of surprise, downing his own drink, and then ordering another round. "Do you doubt me, Cody?" He inquired as if he couldn't believe it, but of course, found this entire thing entertaining. And though he offered, he wasn't really going to act on it. It was just to see if he could get a rise out of his Russian friend. That was always the aim of the game.

"Yes." He added, "I do. You do not know this...Olga." He shrugged.
"Have you done anything....since leaving the ship?"

Hurst arched a brow at him. "I'm shocked." Also, Olga, hm? He downed his next shot, and placed the glass on the counter. "Indeed. I've taken an considerable amount of breathes, eaten, slept---" He paused, and then smiled after being a smart a**. "I visited my dear mum. It was due after a stint in the Navy, hm? You know how that goes. Now that I've eased her mind that I'm now doing some good with my life, I'm off the hook for a time." He ordered another round, but didn't take this shot yet. "And how's that road to becoming an officer going?"

"Mothers." Sergei rose his glass, "Will always be wondering about their boys."
Sergei shrugged and took a sip now. "It is going. I have been attending school and they say I show a good amount of promise." He leaned back.
"Have you heard, of the terrorist attacks of late?"

Hurst raised his glass as well in a toast to that sentiment. Oh how he agreed. It was amazing how Mrs. Vetrov didn't have an entirely gray head from having nine of them to worry about. He chuckled at the response to the academy question though. "Of course they did." Sergei was the ideal solider after all---that'd more than easily translate into officer as well. The next topic though had him quirking his brow. "I have." Even experienced something of the sort too. "Nasty things, that. It leaves one to wonder though what exactly in Desitny City is worth terrorizing."

"You'd be surprised." Sergei sat back and played with one of the glasses.
"There is endless energy here, it seems. People with so much going on." he shook his head.
"Some days, I miss ship, and crew. Small duties. Some days, I think, Why did I even come back? One threat, two threats, it has not changed." He threw back another shot.
"Is busy here, Dylan. Too busy."

Outwardly Hurst didn't immediately react, but inwardly he was struck with sudden curiosity. Had his friend encountered the same odd things he had that one evening? Irony would simply suggest he would, because he was Sergei, who wanted his simple life with his linear goals. "Are you implying there's a war here, too, Cody?"

"There is a war here." Sergei immediately responded and leaned forward, like Noel did as she rested her head on Cooper's leg. The russian took a deep breath, hoping his friend wasn't a lieutenant in disguise and decided to trust his gut more then his logic. "These terrorist, they are magical. Out of this world. And I've awakened as one of them." He sighed, "A knight, is what they call me. A knight of Polaris. To battle the things that go bump in the night."

Well. There went his plan to get Sergei smashed. How could he, in good conscience, after this now? Hurst sighed softly, a hand sliding down to smooth over the top of Noel's head, before he settled into a gentle rhythm of petting the husky. "This wouldn't happen to include strange creatures as well that shatter to dust too, would it?" He asked with a smile. "And the most inconvenient uniform that's pastel colored?"

Sergei NEVER got smashed.
But he did smack his hand down.
"Are you one?" Because oh my god, wouldn't that just be Sergei's luck. His best friend, HIS SISTER, HIS STALKER(Olga).

Hurst didn't answer right away, casually glancing about to make sure no one appeared interested in their conversation. Luckily, there wasn't, so he focused back on his friend, smiling. "Well, that depends on what your definition of 'one' is." He replied casually. "What does being a knight of Polaris entail? A pastel military-like uniform with compass rose symbols?"

Hurst raised his hands in a simple and disarming gesture. For once, the smart a** know it all didn't have the answers. "And what does being one mean exactly, hm?"
