Labyrinithite went because, well, he didn't have much choice otherwise though the temptation to reach his hand into Scholomance's back and pull his starseed free was sorely tempting. Not knowing the drawbacks or what effectively killing the shorter man would do, if the wonder would collapse and he would perish beneath it or if he'd be ejected, were the only things keeping him from doing it.

That and the ability to gather information. If he was stuck as an unwilling guest then he might as well make use of it. Combat wasn't the only thing he was capable of, if he wanted he could be rather charming but -

The general didn't know how charming he felt falling into step behind Blaine and Scholomance. Blaine was spouting some useful information that Labyrinthite tucked away in the back of his mind. Continued presence on a wonder, perhaps even homeworld, brings about restoration. Seemingly, he thought to himself, eyes narrowing as Scholomance spoke instead of his ghostly ancestor.

"Do not give me reason to and I won't," he replied, monotone. He had been directly behind the dark haired man when he started to cross, frowning as he splayed his arms out for balance and Labyrinthite took a step back, head cocked as he watched, eyes drifting over to Blaine and the solid space behind him. Teleporting back to Earth was unlikely, if they were off planet it would exhaust too much energy but he could theoretically teleport to where he could see.

He reached for Scholomance's long coat, grasping more gently than perhaps thought possible of such a volatile man. "Teleporting would be simpler than crossing something that might crumble beneath your feet."

Scholomance startled, more overtly than he intended, when he felt the grasp on his coat. Instinct warned him that he would soon feel the shooting, lethal pain within his chest and he braced himself for it, yet Labyrinthite's speech confirmed other intentions. As he slowly let a breath out, he stared at Blaine in an attempt to convey his frustrations. The confused expression he received from his ancestor confirmed that Blaine had no idea why he would feel so flustered.

Jealousy crept back into the recesses of his mind as he glanced back to his unwilling companion, who held the ability to traverse from one point to another instantaneously. The Negaverse was graced with significant abilities, from lethal weapons to teleportation to the ability to reach through someone's chest and kill them instantly - all abilities that he himself wanted to have. The total loss of his life as he knew it, however, and the potential loss of important memories urged him from simply pledging allegiance to the Negaverse and signing himself over. Rebuilding his life from scratch did not appeal, as much as teleportation did.

Plus, he had to wonder if he'd end up being assigned under Labyrinthite just to spite him. Their interactions were not terribly savory to the squire.

"If you're offering," he started as he seized hold of Labyrinthite's forearm, "lead the way." He wondered, then, if they could teleport anywhere they saw fit. Was it anywhere within reason? Could he simply place them inside the building, wherever Blaine wanted to go? The questions fell short of finding voice; now seemed a terrible time to ask them.

"Are you coming, Scholomance? I'd prefer to show you the device before I explain it to you." Blaine looked to them impatiently from the precipice. Finally he realized that the bridge may not be safe for passage. "... I think there may be another way here, from the ground floor."

How helpful of you, Scholomance thought bitterly.

Labyrinthite waited, attention shifting between the man he had a grip on and the other one across the way. He wasn't certain how he felt about the man that seemed to be a solid projection created by the wonder but he didn't assess what he might think further. There were other things to focus upon, like getting through this field trip quickly so that Scholomance would return them to Earth.

In the time that it took for any of them to blink, the general and knight had shifted from one side of the crumbling pathway to the other.

With Blaine only inches from them, Labyrinthite released the back of Scholomance's shirt and gestured for the ghost to continue forward. "It is of little consequence," he voiced low and rough in response because he'd taken care of the issue. He did not feel the need to explain his abilities, trusting that either the knight who plagued him with letters would explain, or the other one would chalk it up to magic.

He did seem oddly out of touch with anything that existed outside of the wonder. He didn't feel the need to state that it was possible that they could have jumped across the bridge with their enhanced abilities. Labyrinthite himself could take the length of a two, three-story building with minimal effort but as he looked at the man dressed in purples, he remembered the injury that he had inflicted himself.

Mobility such as his was clearly a gift.

"Come, lest I grow impatient." A quiet warning.
