Stepping out, slightly less prepared than Noah (absolutely no back pack, at least he remembered his wallet) Al immediately began gawking up at the tall buildings. "Good choice," his attention slid back down to Noah with a curious smile. "Do you have something specific in mind?"

Noah peeked sideways at Al with a little smile. "Um, I'd say museums, but if we do museums we're not gonna get anything else done, right," he said. "We should, um, we should find a store and do our shopping stuff first. And maybe a bookstore?" he finished hopefully. "Is that good? How about you, is there anything you ever super-wanted to do here?"

"Central Park Zoo? I want to see some ******** animals, it's been forever." He looked even more excited now, "and maybe a show and dinner later?" There were so many possibilities. Bookstore. Al curled his head downward while looking at Noah. "Maybe there's a place that sells like... restaurant quality equipment... or something." He glanced away and rubbed his forehead anxiously. "Recipe books at a bookstore might be nice."

"Yeah, let's go find out where we are, we can go ask someone in like, a corner store or something." Noah grinned. "We're obviously tourists so it won't be weird for us to be lost, right? Oh, I bet we can get a map so we can get around. Do you know how to use a subway? I want to try that, I never did that where I grew up."

Al looked concerned for a moment before suddenly relaxing and smiling at Noah, "Sure, as long as you don't mind looking clueless. Subways, aye, they're easy. Just keep close and try not to get groped."
He started walking and curiously looked for anything that might be helpful. Spotting a news stand he walked over, "Well, they got other paper with s**t written on it. Don't think a map is asking too much." Thankfully, the assumption was correct. Both the news stand and the neighboring souvenir stand attempted to sell them a map. Al took one from the souvenir shop just because it was laminated and offered it to Noah. "Any specific shops you want to look in?"

"We are kinda clueless," Noah pointed out, "and there's nobody we know around to see it, so I don't mind." He followed Al. "Wait, what, groped?" He leaned over the map with Al, glancing up briefly to find the nearest street signs so he could figure out where they were. "Here," he said after a moment, and poked his finger at the map. "Here we are. Hey, we're pretty close to the park already. Um ... besides a bookstore and maybe a kitchen store I just wanted like a grocery or something, I'm out of soap and I hate the stuff the quartermaster has. It makes me itch."

"Don't worry, I'll guard your butt from Space Invaders™." Al teased and then brushed his cheek fondly against the edge of Noah's shoulder. "Maybe you can help me too, I was thinking a manly smelling body wash might make things easier but it's like I don't have a nose sometimes. They all smell the same to me man." They certainly had a long busy day planned, he honestly would have been fine lazing and cuddling all day. But honestly, these were things that needed doing, things that were a million times easier with Noah at his side.
Especially when he...
"Lead the way!" Al merrily shuffled the map into Noah's capable care.

Noah turned a little to bump his head against Al's like an affectionate cat, not really caring if anyone saw or looked at them funny. There was a weird kind of freedom in being in a strange city full of people who didn't know them; they could be weird without getting comments from anyone who mattered, and while Noah might once have been worried about people getting nasty about the being-visibly-kind-of-gay thing, he really wasn't worried about people getting nasty anymore, not normal humans, anyway. "Okay," he grinned, "I know my butt's safe then." He accepted custody of the map and looked around again, orienting himself, and traced out a path on the map with a finger. "Okay," he decided, "down this way, then here, and we turn here and then here, and that'll take us to the park, and if we find the right kind of places on the way to the zoo we can stop then, and if not we can figure out where we gotta go after, how does that sound?"

"Sounds good to me," Al encouraged. He placed a hand gently on Noah's shoulder. "First thing I want to see is their reptile house. They do have one, right?" He gave the other man a deep sad stare, as if he had any control over that.

"Yeah, they do. Want to look at some snakes?" Noah giggled. "It should be nice and warm inside. Um, they'd keep it warm for the reptiles anyway, right?" He poked Al's nose and led the way down the street, checking the map once more to make sure they were going the right way and looking around as they walked like the shameless tourist he was being. There were so many people, and so many different types of people.

Al would have followed Noah all over the city, to the ends of the earth even. Snakes or no snakes. They were simply just a bonus, as were the poison dart frogs. Al took the lead for a short period to zoom all over the park and finally to the gift shop where he might have purchased a couple suitably reptilian posters. He conceded all control back to Noah immediately after he was satisfied and was nice and quiet and not at all whiny at the boring stores.
