"I don't understand it either. Either of those two things." Vari said with a laugh. "But then again, if you think of home here, all the sand and dry-ness. We don't mind it so much because we're used to it. This is our norm as that is theirs. They were born in it so they likely don't mind it. Or maybe they have some kind of biological mechanisms to help them...hmm. It would be worth investigating."

Varinia thought about the being born from trees thing which was, like Reill, something she just could't wrap her head around. "Well that would explain why they look so...odd." She decided to be nice and not say weird or bizarre as they probably looked that way to others. "But I don't get it either." She agreed with him.

"Oooh manlyness." Varinia said with exaggerated sarcasm. She couldn't help to admit to herself how muscular he had gotten though. Wrapping an arm around his waist, she stayed as close to him as it seemed he wanted which she didn't mind at all either. "Well...no one can really tell you what you want. You kinda have to figure that one out on your own."

Her eyes focused on their path and wondered what she could say. His questions were surely meant to sound as a joke but she couldn't help but wonder if there was more to it. "There might just be some people who want you to stay...you know." Vari paused continued looking at her feet for a few minutes before looking to see his reaction with a slight blush over her freckled face. "But, I'm sure we could find you a fortune teller if that's really what you wanted. Though, I have a feeling one of the God's shrines might be a little easier to find." Varinia went to a shrine whenever she was having trouble, which wasn't much lately since she got hired on with her recent position. But before she would go often and pray to Essd and Jonal for her father's return.

Varinia looked away nervously. There was a slight bit of hesitation in her eyes, enough to make her pause and not answer immediately. How did she feel about Reil? Of course she wanted him to stay but was it for something other than just for him to be home? She felt like there was something there so the real question was...did she want them to take that step? Were they better off as friends? Should they take that leap? Should SHE take that leap? Vari chewed on the inside of her cheek in her nervousness, one of her not so great habits of late.

She looked back at him then, the slight hesitation still in her eyes and she could tell he wanted her to say something. Not just anything either. His eyes said he was waiting for an answer, almost in a way that made her wonder if he'd had feelings for someone before and it went wrong. And yet, just like that she knew what her answer would be. It didn't take away the slight fear of making the leap, or the hesitation of what may come after. "I...I would like you to stay..." Her eyes went from hesitant to uncertain but her expression otherwise looked almost hopeful. After all, once you've taken the leap all there is to do is fall.

She smiled slightly up at him as they walked hand in hand in silence for a little longer. They had been walking for quite some time now and had almost looped around back to the market again. Varinia stopped just on the outside of it and looked up at him. "I still have a few things to get and then I have to get these things back to the Lady Naevius before it gets too late. I'll...I'll see you later." Vari stood on her tip toes and kissed him on the cheek gently. A small blush on her face as she turned away and wandered back into the market.
