Eira nodded her head in agreement, feeling that she was lucky to have the various lovely outfits that she had. It was something that had her glancing at the girl before her, giving her a once over. She'd offer to let the girl borrow some but she felt that the two of them were different sizes in a few different areas so the clothing probably wouldn't fit her. Best not to offer then since she didn't want to see as though she were insulting the other girl. Giving a smile Eira merely said, "My job does allow me to be lucky in that aspect."

As Sy said that she'd stay for a bit Eira smiled, "Alright, stay as long as you like." She said before adding, "Though if you end up staying longer then a week I'd ask that you either pay for the room or take up a job to cover the room and board. Your choice of course which you would prefer. I am sure that we could find you a job here if you need one." It would actually be fairly easy given the amount of work a place like this required to keep things flowing smoothly. Hiring on Sy, if she stayed around long enough, would be well worth being down one of the small rooms in Eira's eyes.

Looking around for a moment, but not spotting her brother right away, Eira said, "It would be unusual if he were purely of the Ice Tribe but he isn't. Makani's mother was from the Wind Tribe and he ended up with a few of her features."

The mention of her paying for the room made her nod. Sy had been thinking of that. But there was something that Eira offered that she hadn't thought of. Working. "Uhm, I'm not sure what kind of work I can do." After all, being around too many people made her more than a little nervous which could trigger her stutter.

Learning that Eira's brother was only half Ice had her blushing. "Oh, I should have thought of that." The golden hair was a trait of the Sauti people. She'd seen it when she had been present for the most recent battle. "I'm sorry, I just don't seem to know what to say that doesn't sound insulting or make me seem like a fool." A rather awkward laugh came from her as she rubbed at her one exposed arm. So far she'd admitted to getting extremely lost and now she just showed some ignorance about common place traits throughout the other tribes.

"I'd have to think about where workers are needed, but I am sure that we could think of something... though only if you decide to stay on for a while." She felt that allowing the girl a week at most of free room and board was her acting the part of a saint since this was a business. She just sort of felt bad for her with the way that she'd gotten herself so lost. Was her being pregnant starting to effect her already? Making her want to take care of people, even those who could probably take care of themselves save for having a bad sense direction? An interesting thought indeed.

Giving a little laugh Eira lifted a hand, giving it a little wave, "I can assure you that he wouldn't care. Makani... he has a strange sense of humor so I am sure that you comment on his hair wouldn't be something that would bother him. Given that there was no malice in your question I see no reason to be upset either." She said, hoping to reassure the girl that she'd done no harm in her confusion. Were she mean about the situation after she learned that Makani was of mixed blood things might different, instead she just seemed to be apologizing. As such Eira saw no reason to be upset over the little mistake.

She nodded her head at the woman. "Thank you, I guess my mind has been a bit out of it these past few days." That was the only way she could explain getting so off course and her lack of intelligence now. Of course she had been distracted thinking about things. "I haven't been home in about a year and I'm not quite sure how to explain things to my family and.. erm.. friend." There was really only one friend that she needed to tell since she'd seen all the others on the road already.

When she stared down at her feet she thought of something and seemed to perk up a little. "I can clean. I used to clean my house all the time." And then she'd picked up after herself, her mother and her twin. "It might take longer than a week to teach me anything, so I'd like to repay you."

"Oh? Something on your mind?" Eira found herself asking, curious about what it might be. She tended to listen to a lot of stories told to her by those passing through, which made her always eager for more. At the mention of Sy not having been home for a year, as well as not being sure how to explain things to family and a 'friend', she found herself wondering if she'd subconsciously gotten herself lost to buy herself more time? Curious Eira asked, "What are you unable to explain to them? Just why you were away for so long or is it something deeper then that?" She also wanted to ask about the 'friend' in due time, but felt she should ask about the more important part first.

As teh girl mentioned cleaning as her job Eira gave a thoughtful sound, "Hmmm, yes. Someone to help clean would be more then welcome." She said, feeling that one could never have too much help in the cleaning department, especially when it came to people constantly tracking in dirt on the bottoms of their boots, "Extra help with clean up sounds like a good trade off for the room. As for how long lessons in magic might take... that would be something to ask Makani." Eira had no idea how long it would take, so best to let her brother field that question.

When asked about what was on her mind she avoided eye contact with the woman and twirled her finger in her hair. "Well, I kinda left without really letting anyone know where I was going." Sy had told her mother that she was taking a short trip into Jauhar but her journey had gone far beyond that. "My friend is training to be a healer so I wanted to collect some herbs for him, he even gave me a book so I could identify them." There she paused long enough to reach into her bag and pull out the book that belonged to Chandra. Of course if Eira paid attention she'd see all the herbs that were in there with it. "But.. something happened and I got delayed then the fight with the Alkidikes broke out.." Her shoulders lifted up slightly.

Her fingers ran across the book that she'd taken good care of. "I don't want my friend to be upset that I've had his book for so long." Syqvara had only meant to borrow it or a short time.

Eira couldn't help but to laugh, "Ah, I see! That's definitely something I can relate to, when my troupe first started out we were only five people, and over half the group slipped off under false pretense or without really letting anyone know where they were going." She admitted, knowing that the lot of them had been a bit reckless when they were younger, "We did whatever was needed, including sort of... lying about one of our members, to make sure he could come along with us. We said that he was training with Gyuri to be a warrior when in all actuality he just wanted to be a musician."

"Hmm... training to be a healer...?" Eira murmured, then said, "Do keep an eye on your friend if he means to take that path, I know that it can be a really rough one. Makani... he worked as a combat medic during the war against the Obans, had to deal with a lot injuries, with death, it was hard on him. If your friend is important to you then you should help him where you can even if it's just being there for him."

Giving a soft smile she said, "I am sure that your friend probably misses you more then the book. If you do plan to stay a while maybe you can send him a letter and invite him to visit?"

There was a thankful smile as she looked at Eira. Knowing she wasn't the only irresponsible one meant a lot to her. Of course she hadn't meant to be such. The warning about the healer's path made her nod. Sy had already planned to be as supportive as possible. Of course Chandra had his uncle to help out too. "I'll help him as much as he'll let me." It wasn't like she could be forceful about it.

The mention of sending him a letter to invite him here had her giving a sad smile. Something told her that he wouldn't come. So Syqvara shook her head. "No, but I could send his book to him. Or.. well maybe to his uncle, Takoda, since I know where he lives." She wasn't sure if Chandra would be at his mothers or his fathers so she thought sending it to his uncle would ensure that he got it back. "Maybe a letter home to tell them I'll be home soon." After she was done with learning some pointers on magic she would head home.

"That's good to hear. Men can be very, very stubborn, certain that they know everything, but I am sure you will figure out how to deal with your 'friend' in time." She said, giving the girl a smile before leaning back against the counter once more, relaxing there as she looked out over the open area of the inn. She could tell by the light coming through the windows that it was growing a little darker meaning people would be showing up soon. That meant that soon enough she'd be greeting customers, taking weapons, and other side jobs that would keep her busy for a while.

Turning to look over at Sy she gave a knowing smile and said, "I'd suggest keeping it. If you have the book that gives you the perfect excuse to go and visit him when you get home. As for the letter, you write it up and one of the messenger birds in Dernd can deliver it for you I'm sure. We can send it with the man who brings the supplies down to us next time he visits."

As she finished the bell over the door sounded, drawing Eira's attention, "Ah! Seems as though our customers are starting to show up. You can stay if you want, and help me check in weapons, if you'd like. That or head for your room. I will leave it up to you, Sy." She sid to the girl before waving at the pair that had come inside, "Welcome back, gentlemen, if we could ask you to check in your weapons?" They were regulars, so at least they knew the drill.

She thought about Eira's words. But she settled on sending the book back to Chandra. After all, she still had the herbs that she could use as an excuse to see him. As people started to come in she looked over her shoulder at them then at the woman as she greeted them. "I'll go to my room for now and come down later to help clean." One baby step at a time. Sy smiled at Eira then gave a greeting to the visitors before she disappeared up the steps.
