Last time, when they'd been on Denebola she'd had flashes of things but nothing of Altais and her mind was a swirl of, why nots. Everyone else had triggered something pertaining to them, but her friend was absent from her other life's memories.
Why?
The senshi didn't understand.
"Of course," she mumbled, looking perplexed at his outstretched hand like she didn't know what to do with it. Slowly, she slid her palm against his and let him help her up. Her breath was shaky and her legs wobbly, so she leaned on him for support. "I think it d-depends on the person." Hers didn't hurt, they just confused her.
"W-we can stay. I'm fine, I just-- I was surprised. Tell me more?"

He waited until she placed her hand in his, and then tugged her up. He didn't mind keeping her supported, so he held her hand a bit longer.
"Surprised..." he hesitated, "I hope...it..." He shook their joined hands together. "Doesn't deter you from being my friend though?" He gave her a crooked hopeful smile.
"Elu had red hair too. And mismatched eyes. You look a lot like her." There was differences. Styles of dress, makeup and markings on her face and body. Elu was not Denebola in this time, but the resemblance was uncanny.
"She was flying to go home." He grimaced, "That's what she told him. Flying to go home, in a spaceship. But they looked like ships?" He breathed in, "This town was once a port, for them to all stop at." Or something like that.
"My planet...it is mostly sand."

"Of course not," she insisted, touching his upper arm reassuringly. "I'm still here and I'm not going anywhere." Easy to promise, but she resolved that it would hold.
"I know," she agreed, voice softening and barely audible. While she lived most of her memories she knew what she looked like. They were nearly identical with subtle differences. Elu was stronger, there were more muscles on her past life frame than her current one. She smiled less, looked more haunted.
Though, Fiona was beginning to look as haunted.
"Yeah she-- I--" her brow furrowed trying to recall what she knew of Elu. It was hardly anything and she didn't like it. Perhaps she needed to spend some time, alone, on her homeworld. There were too many questions and not enough answers.
"There is nothing wrong with sand. When you see her...what does it make you feel?"

"Okay! Okay that's good. I was worried." He admitted, "Because...Because well...I don't know. For some reason, losing you as a friend seems to be much more scarier now that we've come to here." He smiled crookedly again and almost tripped as his attention was solely focused on her.
"Oh! Another building...." He bent down and started to dig some sand out. Bright colors with markings started to appear. "I think you were right, some of the city is really buried underneath here.
"Longing?" He looked at Denebola. "For freedom? Excitement, because I've never been out there. Trust, wholeheartedly." He pursued his lips. "Admiration. Elu was strong, when he couldn't be. She was creative, when he was bland. Altais treasured her...in the moments I saw. Emotion came very easy for him." He laughed a little. "Kind of like myself! He was easy to excite! Easy to smile."
He stared off, "I feel like I am a mirror."

"If I was important to you in your last life then..." she trailed off unsure of how true her words would be. The residual emotions were something she'd experienced in small does, not like Altais was experiencing. She'd never been emotional or attached to the people she'd seen in her visions, outside of Tarren whoever he was, but it never someone she was with. "It's probably residual feeling that you felt for her that you're projecting on to me."
There, if she looked at it scientifically then she didn't have to think about who Altais used to be and what he might've meant to her.
"It's surreal isn't it? It's you but not you." Elu was stronger than Fiona. Elu was more capable, more equipped to handle war.
"She seems so much lovelier than the person I've turned out to me."

"It was. It still kind of is." He shook a bit, "I thought I would find a treasure, or ruins, or a temple like yours or you know. Something so exciting. I mean I am still excited its just...a bit of tinged sadness." He huffed. "Now I understand, why you felt the way you did."
He scoffed again, "No. I do not believe that." It probably WAS, but he liked Denebola before they even came here so....
"It's hard to see him and see me and see them and all the people and know...well...they don't exist anymore." His bright smile returned.
"I like this Denebola better though." So far, "After all, You teach me of Dr. Who, and movies right? I think that's better."Nuxaz ah conflicting Altais feelings XD

"Who's to say you can't still find them Altais. The passage of time has effected each homeworld differently. You have sand, I have wild vegetation and fields of ruin." Frankly, in her opinion, he got the better end of the deal.
Sand eroded, hid things easier.
"They probably still exist, most of them. The ones like you and I at least," she assured him, leaning into him. "We're the same but different, it's so complicated." And it hurt her head sometimes. If the old Remarque hadn't shared the current Remarque's name, she would have never known they were the same person.
"You're just saying that because you don't know what she's capable of," she teased, looking up at him with a small smile. It was a kind statement, even if she didn't believe it. "Speaking of, do you want to come by and watch it after we're done here?"

"I'll come here again!" Maybe by himself, maybe not. He didn't know quite yet.
"I don't want to forget this, so that's good too." he added and then breathed in.
"We should go back! I wish to see this Dr. Who. And Time, it passes by faster here?" He wondered. "I want to come by! Can we have, ah...Hot chocolate?"

"You should, who knows what you'll find," Denebola encouraged. She swung in front of him, gently cradled his face and stood on the tips of her toes so she could place a soft kiss to his forehead. "You won't forget," she assured him.
She never forgot about the things she saw.
"Yeah, of course. I'll make us hot chocolate and I'll let you build a fort out of blankets. How does that sound?" She hoped it sounded good, because a nice evening curled up in blankets watching something sound really, really good to her.

He relaxed and the kiss felt like a mirror version of one that happened so long ago.
"Fort!" He actually laughed, "That would be terribly exciting. Let's do it!" Instead of dwelling though, he wanted to make memories with the current Denebola, and Fiona. Hot chocolate and this Dr. Who and Forts, how could he turn that down?
He took her hand gently. "Home we go then." And pulled out his cellphone, pressing the button without another look over his shoulder.
