Sascha, though thoroughly displeased with Dahlia's form of apologizing, let the subject go when Valerian seemed to accept it for now. He prayed to Nine that this would be the last time he'd have to go through something like this, but wouldn't count on his luck just yet. After all, he'd been through a break-up and this in such a short time, the world was probably just waiting to toss another barrage of punches at him. At least he knew that he could get through this without cracking...
"Alright, let's go." He sighed, nodding and moving to pick Valerian up. He wanted nothing more than to be home, too, preferably snuggled up on the couch with a cup of tea. However, as Valerian clung to his chest and let out a sigh, he knew that alone time would have to wait for a while. He lead both of them out to the street and rushed to get back onto the next horseless carriage, before finally allowing himself to relax as they pulled up to their street.
"I'm going to make us a snack..." He said, once they were finally back in the house. "Dahlia, I want you to come help me while Valerian rests, and Valerian, I want you to lay on the couch until we come back. Don't do anything like running around, okay?"

Dahlia nodded along as Sascha spoke and followed him into the kitchen after he'd finished tucking Valerian in. She supposed she understood why Valerian couldn't come help in the kitchen, what, with the broken horn and all. He probably wasn't thinking straight or something. If anything, Daddy wanted her help and that's all the mattered to her right now.
"I can carry the popcorn for you!" She exclaimed, taking the bowl from Sascha carefully. "Oooh, we're having soda, too? Are we gonna watch a movie?"
She beamed when Sascha nodded and proudly walked back into the living room with him. Her first instinct was to flop on the couch with the bowl of popcorn in tow, but paused just in time for Sascha to move it to the table so she could sit down. Then, she watched eagerly as Sascha combed through the movies.
"I want to watch Locating Miko!" She exclaimed, pointing to the movie directly under Sascha's hand. "It's my favorite!"

Valerian, now more or less a breathing blanket burrito, peered out as Dahlia and Sascha returned. They were watching a movie, huh? That actually sounded like fun. He inched further out from his bundle and waved his hand toward another movie on the lower shelf.
"Can we watch Outside In, instead?" He asked, wiggling up into a semi-seated position. "I like the character with the green hair, they're funny!"
As he spoke, the smell of the fresh popcorn caught his attention, and he quickly grabbed a handful. Mmm, hot and covered with butter, just the way he liked it! He was so glad that Dahlia hadn't ruined that for him at least!

Sascha's hand hovered between the two movies for a moment and eventually moved toward a completely different movie on the opposite side. It wasn't a decision he made easily, honestly, but it was one that he felt he had to honor. After all, he knew the kids would probably tolerate whatever he picked and, well, he wanted a little nostalgia to go along with it. He sighed, smiled, and put the disk into the player.
"We're going to watch Figurine Tale because it's daddy's favorite, okay?" He replied, a subtle smirk rising to his features as both of his children groaned in response. "What? You both liked it when I played it for you last time. We can watch Locating Miko and Outside In tomorrow with your brothers if you really want to. For now, just... Deal with it, okay?"
To his relief, Dahlia and Valerian didn't make a peep of protest and snuggled against him. They seemed as tired as he was now, which was disheartening, but it left him feeling hopeful for their future. One of these days, Dahlia would learn how to deal with her emotions and sort them out without hurting her brothers... Just like he learned how to handle his panic attacks and anxiety.
