Elias nodded his head. He knew she was kind of bummed about losing her pack, but the only way to really get back to them was to get on the same path he usually took. The only way to he knew to get to that path was to find that special clearing or to start over at the beginning. "I'm sorry Siofra, maybe it'll still be there the next time we go that way." The food definitely wouldn't be there, but at least the bag might. What did animals need a bag for?

Elias began walking in the direction of the tree, it was easy enough to go in a straight line towards it. "So, apart from being chased by... What was it again? How have you been lately?" He asked Siofra. This was going to be a long walk without any of their things. He hoped that by some miracle they found the clearing or their stuff again by heading towards the tree.

"It'll be okay. Mom will only yell at me and ground me for a little while about the pack. I'm mostly going to be in trouble for running away without telling her." She winced at the thought of it. She was probably in a lot more trouble than she wanted to think about. Mom really was going to ream her. She followed him, wondering if it would even be possible to find their way back to the clearing. "I have no idea what that thing was." Siofra grinned a little, having a bit of a hard time believing that they'd managed to outrun that scary beastie.

"It's been.. Kind of lonely. Lelly has been growing up and I've been kind of... stuck like this." She frowned, trying not to let that get to her too much. "How about you? It's gotta be interesting living in a giant tree~"

Elias was confused, Daring Do knew that he was going out, it never really bothered her very much, especially when he explained it in a way that she could relate to. "Why did you run away?" He asked her as he continued along.

He side glanced catching her smile when talking about the beastie she had run into, he hadn't really caught a good glimpse of it before he had been pulled into a run and into the sky. He had been too busy trying to orientate himself. "It was probably just a squirrel, a really big squirrel." He teased her.

Elias could relate to what she was saying, Daring Do's once little daughter, he wouldn't dare call her his sister, was now bigger than him in size. "You think this is as big as we get?" He asked her, he really had nothing to compare to and it seemed like it was possible to him.

"It wasn't really running away so much as leaving to explore..." Siofra blushed, not wanting to admit the real reason she'd left home was in hopes of seeing him again. He was the only other pae that looked like she did! It made sense they had a connection, or something. Guardians only knew what it was.

"Yeah... A squirrel with a buncha legs and hissy bits" She made a face, joking about it now. Sure, it was a terrifying thing to see in person, but describing it sounded so funny. She'd have laughed at herself if she hadn't been there! Siofra laughed, happily making fun of the scary thing.

His next question hit her hard though. Was this as big as they got? Would Lelly forever be a giant compared to herself? At least Elias was taller than she was, he had that going for him. Even if she was almost as tall. "I hope not. I hate being tiny." She huffed, hand on her hip in a sassy fashion. "One day, we'll be so big that everyone we meet on the island will have to look up to us." Siofra pledged, pretty sure it would never happen. But hey, a girl could dream, couldn't she?

Elias nodded his head in understanding. At least, he sort of understood, he understood th exploring part, but he didn't really understand why she couldn't tell her mom that. The boy left it at that though. "Hissy bits, huh? It probably had some sort of disease, it was probably a good thing we got out of there." He smiled.

The smile wiped away, he didn't like being so small either. He almost felt weak or sickly next to the other faun sometimes. Not that he felt sickly, he felt great, but they just had so much more mass than him. "It's crazy that I can eat as much as I do and not grow an inch." He pushed out his belly, trying to make it look like he had some more chub on him.

He laughed at her suggestion, he didn't think it was possible that anyone would ever look up at them, except maybe babies, but they needed the silliness, it helped pass the time on their walk.

"I don't really like the tree." Elias admitted, going back to a question she had asked earlier. "I just don't belong there, you know?" Though he was sure she didn't know. He was sure that life in the tree was quite different from life outside of it.

Siofra giggled, in total agreement. "The sooner, the better~" She nodded, deciding there was no other reason for them to have been so scared at something so silly. It had to be diseased or something! Guardians knew the poor beastie didn't look right.

"It is crazy. I mean, I eat just as much as my older brother and sister, and I'm still a short and skinny little brat." She stuck out her lip. Pouting. That was sure to make them grow big and tall. At least she didn't mind being able to eat anything she wanted and still be skinny. That was pretty awesome no matter how it was spun.

It was when he mentioned not liking his home that her ears perked up. "I don't, but I can try." Siofra offered. Her entire family accepted her and made sure she felt like she was a huge part of it. Even if she wasn't related to any of them by bloody. "Why don't you come live with me?" She offered, smiling wide again. "My family makes everyone feel like they belong, even when they don't look the same~" It was a brilliant idea. What could possibly be awkward about that?

Elias smirked at some of Siofra's comments, "That's not true," he told her. At least, part of it wasnt true. She was short and skinny by the standards of what he had seen. Siofra was definitely not a brat though.

"I, uh..." Elias would have stopped walking, but they had plenty of distance to go so he kept going despite feeling frozen. He would love to live near Siofra, to not have to keep going out, mostly looking for her. He wouldn't have to live in that tree anymore, constantly feeling like he didn't fit in. Of course, he knew nothing about where Siofra lived, so it was entirely possible that he wouldn't fit in there either. Siofra would be there though, and just her presence would make him fit in, make him feel like whatever part of him was missing was filled. "I think I would like that." He glanced at Siofra, a hopeful expression on his face.

She laughed, shaking her head. No way she wasn't some short, skinny, brat. Even if she was, like, some super sweet girl she'd still be a short and skinny. Maybe one day they'd both get taller, but Siofra held no hopes of gaining weight. Not even where she -wanted- to gain weight. "If you say so Elias~" She agreed, smiling at him. She wasn't going to argue it.

Still smiling, she kept moving. The offer to come live in her village was something she was confident in. They wouldn't ever feel like they were the only ones ever again. And he could feel loved and fit in! Even if she couldn't figure out exactly how he couldn't possibly feel loved if he had a family of his own. She hadn't expected him to accept it so quickly though! If she wasn't positive they had a really really long walk ahead of them, Siofra would have frozen in place. "You mean it?!" She squeaked, excited. The hope on his face was more than confirmation for her. She let out a squeal of delight, hugging him tight. She just knew it was a good idea!

Elias nodded his head, this time actually freezing in place when she hugged him. "Yeah, I mean it. I mean... If you mean it, then I mean it." He had jumped to the decision rather quickly, but for him everything pointed to it. It wasn't as if he wasn't loved in the home he had now, but it was a different sort of love. Elias could see it, especially after Golden Fleece had arrived.

It was especially different from the way he felt about Siofra. He wouldn't be so bold as to call it love, but it was a different feeling than anything he knew. He wondered if it would really be as different as he hoped, living near Siofra. Maybe it would be the same, maybe he'd still feel like he didn't belong, but maybe it would be worth it to be able to see Siofra more. "You think it would be ok?" He asked.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 08, 2016 6:16 am

"Eeee! You're gonna love it there! I just know it~" She squeaked, unable to believe he'd actually agreed to it! Of course she was positive her parents wouldn't let him stay in the same house as her, but he'd still be in the village, and they'd get to see each other a whole lot more often! And Lelly wouldn't get mad at her for taking off. Okay, Lelly was still gonna be really really mad, and Siofra couldn't bring herself to blame her for it.

Siofra's smile stretched from ear to ear, "I think it'll be awesome Elias! Lets go! The sooner we get to moving, the sooner you can come to the village~" She urged, all but ready to run to his home to help him pack. The thought of how trying the trip home would be would hit her later. Much later. During the trip kind of later. But none of that mattered. No, what mattered was they were going to get a chance to be super happy!

Elias' face lit up with Siofra's excitement "Yeah, this is going to be great!" Elias agreed. He began moving again, at a much quicker pace than before. The burst of energy might only last a small portion of their trip, but be was feeling excited now too,

Elias had no idea what he was going to tell Daring Do. He was practically a grown male now, at least that was how he felt, especially in this moment of making a rather grown up decision. However, what teenager didn't want to live with their parents and wanted to live near a pretty girl instead. He could make decisions for his self, he could justify it as the biggest adventure of his life. Elias was quiet as he tried to think of the best way to present this to Daring Do. Golden Fleece was likely to cheer at him leaving, she'd probably be the one to shut the door behind him.

"It'll all work out." He said, more to himself than to Siofra.

Siofra couldn't help but grin, this was a terribly amazing idea! Even if they had a super long walk ahead of them, at least they could all be secure in the knowledge it wouldn't be too much longer.

It was that energy that helped her push through the rather long trek to the Great Tree. By the end of it, at least one of them was left exhausted and ready to collapse for a few days.

Siofra was in awe at the sight of a tree so huge. She'd never seen anything like it! And she lived in a jungle for crying out loud!

They had made it to the tree, Elias looked over at Siofra to see her reaction, and smiled. It was a pretty impressive landmark, he never really thought to think about it until he saw Siofra's awe. "Uhm... You should probably wait out here." Elias said, the hesitation clear in his voice. Elias already felt nervous coming and going from this place due to the tight security, and he lived here. He wasn't sure how well Siofra would be received considering that she wasn't from here. "Like I've said, I don't really feel like I fit in here... And it'll probably be quicker if I just run in and get us some stuff." Elias hoped that she would understand.

He slowly and cautiously entered the tree and it would be a while before he came back. When he did come back he was carrying two sacks, one over his shoulder and the other in his arms. He held out the second pack for Siofra. "Ok...ready." He sounded a little distraught. It had been a difficult conversation to have when he came home and spoke to Daring Do about leaving. Elias hadn't exactly left on the best of notes. It was one thing to leave for a few days on an adventure, but he wasn't really planning on returning at all. His points hadn't helped his case at all, but in the end there was nothing she could do to stop him, his mind was set.

Siofra was a little confused at first, but she nodded her head in agreement. "I'll be out here.. Somewhere." She admitted, wondering if she could wander around a little. She was tired and a little sore, but this was something he needed to do himself. While she wanted to go inside and see it up close, Siofra wouldn't intrude on it.

She contented herself with wandering around the outskirts of where he'd left her, occasionally stealing glances at the large tree beside her. When Elias came back out she squeaked, rushing towards him. He held out a pack for her, but that was the least of her concerns. He looked like that had been a really hard conversation. She wrapped her arms around him, "I'm sorry Elias" the teen apologized, worried about him. What could possibly have gone on in there that made him look so sad? "Are you okay? You don't have to come live with us right now if your family really does want you to stay" She offered, assuming he'd want to come with her eventually. She'd be heartless if she didn't at least make sure he was okay after that!

Elias slowly and stubbornly nodded his head. This was what he wanted. "Everything will be okay," he reassured Siofra, "great, even." He smiled at her, it was a genuine smile even if it had been difficult to do it. "It was never something that was going to be easy, I should have known that, but really it wouldn't get any easier if I waited until I had wrinkles."

Elias pulled an apple out of his pack and began eating it right away, he was starving, "there's some food in your bag too." He said, certain that she would be hungry as well. He had eaten pretty lightly on the journey back to the tree since he mostly ate what they saw on the way. "I can take us back to where you ran into me, and then we can find our way to your home from there, unless you know how to get there from here." Elias mentioned between bites.
