"I am particularly glad that you and I share the same mindset of such things," said Aurelius, patting Amelia's arm reassuringly. "However would I manage to get through such things if I was not so delightfully reminded that you are just as capable as I in such matters?"

He grinned, and then laughed, Aurelius bumping his shoulder against hers. "I cannot, in good conscious, send you back to Midgard with instructions to be good when I can hardly claim them myself. I am quite glad that we are friends as well; it does tend to make life a bit more interesting, at the very least."

He winked at her and swept a handful of curls from his forehead.

"Are you sure it is to the east? We will not get lost on another grand adventure?"

"What is mischief without a partner?" Amelia asked.

It was refreshing to know that there were others who felt the way she did about things. Some days, when she was cooped up with her aides for too long, she forgot that she wasn't alone in her way of thinking. Aurelius was great at encouraging her to do extraordinary things, without him, Amelia knew her discoveries would be lack-luster and her motivation slim.

"Please, Aurelius," the young woman scoffed, "as if you could stop me." She pushed her hair back, off her shoulders when he questioned her. "Must you question me? I venture around the surrounding more than you do, but," she paused, biting down on her lip. "say I was wrong, at the very least we'd find something new."

Amelia was certain they were going in the right direction, but it'd been a while since she'd been to Leo.

She very well could've been going the wrong way.

"Just a lot of sadly disappointing efforts that go under appreciated by the masses," said Aurelius sagely, but it was hard to fight the smile that kept threatening to break through his attempts at acting older and wiser. Amelia, with her clever, mischievous nature, was easy enough to get along with as it was.

He held up both hands in a gesture of submission.

"You are quite right, my dear," said Aurelius. "I shall not question the intelligence of those who clearly know better than I. Lead the way, and we shall hopefully wind up where we are meant to be."

Five minutes later, however, they were still on the road.

"Perhaps...left."

"Think how dreadfully under appreciated our cleverness would be without each other," Amelia told him, pressing a hand against her chest like idea was something she could not fathom. It was, to an extent, because the page couldn't imagine a world without Aurelius in her life.

There were a lot of things that she looked up to in the knight.

"You know, if Celsus didn't twist me around so much, this probably wouldn't be s confusing." She pouted slightly when she squinted at their surroundings. "You're right, I think we're heading toward Virgo not Leo." She shook her head, long hair cascading over her shoulder. "This is why I like my river, it's hard to get lost alongside a river."

She whirled in a circle, making Aurelius do the same before they head off in the other direction.

"How very true, and very sad," said Aurelius, clutching his own heart in mock distress. "Our cleverness would be wasted, and such a shame too. We are quite easily able to balance each other out with this delightful appreciation of each other's talents."

Amelia was, after all, so very easy to get along with and one of the young knights of Chronos that made his job all the more better. They were not different in ranks or status; both were supporting the handmaidens and the guard of Chronos, as well as the princess herself. But it meant, also, that they were able to commiserate about the amount of work they were given, as well as the type of work.

Celsus peered to his left, then to his right again.

"The Surrounding is not hard to get around," he informed Amelia delicately. "We will make it to where we are meant to be, all right my dear knight of Midgard? Have no fear, we shall discover the place we are looking for on this grand adventure!"

This confidence lasted approximately ten more minutes while they wandered.

"This," said Aurelius, hands on his hips. "is Saggitarius. How did we get here?"

Amelia was an eager young woman, always eager to explore and learn and to have someone like Aurelius who helped guide her, well she was perpetually grateful. She'd been awoken late in life, despite all of her cleverness and had been away at the academy longer than most.

Yet, the knight of Celsus had never looked down upon her and it meant more to her than words could express.

"s**t," she cursed, gasping at her own vulgarness and clasping her hand over her mouth. "I bet I subconsciously brought us back here, it's so close to Midgard and Sagittarius is the sphere of exploration. Perhaps this is simply where we are meant to be." She looked up at her companion, lips pursed together before she rolled her shoulders in a shrug.

"I'm sure there is plenty to explore here, I mean, what do you know of Sagittarius?"

Aurelius cast a sideways glance at Midgard's foul language, amusement in his eyes.

"Rest assured any potential slips in decorum are most welcome at this particular venture," he said blithely. "I, of course, will most likely suffer from said slips many times before the day is done, and most of them, sadly enough, will probably be said in the company of a lady, for which I offer my humblest apologies."

There was a smile twitching at the corners of his lips. Aurelius laughed aloud, shaking his head.

"Our feet have taken us almost to your own Wonder, I am quite entertained," he said with a grin. "But you are quite right, exploration is an ironically well fitting trait for us both at present. Shall we take a look around, see if we can't get our bearings?"

He brushed a curl from his eyes and said cheerfully, "Not much in the slightest."

"It is of no matter Aurelius, while I am a lady I am also a scholar and I fear, we can only be so proper when our discovers go awry." Her poor aides had heard her curse countless times when a rune casting had gone wrong or a chemical compound had exploded on her. "Besides, you are one of my closest friends, if you can't allow yourself such slips in my company then what kind of friend am I?"

There were many parts of the pale haired page that looked up to her fellow knight and there were many parts of her that were very fond of him. She trusted that he could be himself around her, in all forms, just as she trusted that he would accept all sides of her.

"Absolutely, there is a tower just up ahead, I'm sure we could slip into it easily."

He laughed good-naturedly; it was so very easy to laugh around Amelia, whose teasing, mischievous countenance was akin to his own and made for a great deal of fun and lightheartedness. All of that was a thankful - and most welcome - relief from the monotony of paperwork and political goings-on that Aurelius worked with on a day-to-day basis.

"You are a delightful creature that I am most pleased to know," said Aurelius grandly. "As for slips in my decorum, well, I am glad that you are willing to forgive any oversights that might occur."

He peered up at the tower with curiosity, Aurelius casting a sideways glance at Amelia, amusement glinting in his eyes.

"How much trouble do you think we'd be in if we just...snuck in..?"

"Absolutely none," she declared, pulling free of Aurelius's arm so that she could dart forward nimbly. She disappeared around the size of the tower before popping back into view with a mischievous glint in her eye. "There will only be trouble if we are caught and I have no intention of getting lectured today."

It was the worst part about having a curious mind that couldn't resist keep out signs.

"Come on, unless someone's just behind that door," she gestured to it with her thumb as she walked backwards towards it, "then no one is around, I checked." She spun on her heel, bounded forward excitedly with her hand twisting the knob. It rattled in her hand but didn't budge, sighing she glanced back at her companion. "Locked, as expected. Do you have anything thin and needle like?"

She was a master at lock picking, she just needed something to use.

He followed without question and without needing the encouragement. Aurelius grinned down at Midgard and said, "Neither do I, so we shall have to keep our endeavors as careful as possible. Lectures are dreadfully boring, after all, especially when they are directed at myself. I should like to avoid them as much as possible."

She was much more suited to picking the lock than he was. Aurelius hummed thoughtfully and then said brightly, "Not a needle, but I do have this!"

He reached into a deep pocket of his robes, rummaged around for a moment, and finally came up with a very thin hairpin, which he extended towards Midgard. There was a twinkle of mischief in his eyes as he stepped back again, a grin on his lips.

"Always carry a hairpin with you in case one needs to break in somewhere," Aurelius said sagely.

"You would think, with how often I sneak into places, that I'd be more prepared but--" she stopped, shrugging when she plucked the hairpin from Aurelius' fingers. She slunk back towards the door, fingers pulling the pin apart before sliding it into the lock.

She played with it for a minute, pushing at the pins until they locked into place and the knob turned beneath her hand. Gleefully she let out a squeal, beaming at her companion before she pulled it open and bowed before him.

"After you my good sir, but do hurry. We mustn't get caught," she winked at him when she straightened.

"Hence the hairpin," said Aurelius grandly, leaning forward and inclining his head towards Midgard with the brightest of smiles on his face. "One day you shall learn to be as talented as I, my dear Midgard."

It was clear from the cheeky grin and the glint in his eyes that he was teasing her. Aurelius clapped his hands as the door was finally opened, and he swept into a deep bow in front of her.

"Why thank you, my dear," he said lightly, and stepped inside.

"Oh of course, though I think that day will come sooner than you expect Aurelius," Amelia teased, unable to keep the wry grin from her face when she slipped in behind him, door easing shut quietly. To their left was a spiral staircase, undoubtedly leading up to the point of the tower they'd been observing moments ago and to their left was a staircase that spiraled downward.

Curious and curiouser, the page thought.

"My instinct is to climb higher, but I have seen very few towers that descend." She wanted to explore both, but felt like they'd only have time to do one or the other. Huffing a sigh and blowing her hair out of her face, she placed both hands on her hips.

"I'm thinking we go down, maybe there's like a room of maps with all of the secret layouts or something."

He eyed the spiral staircase with a mixture of amusement and curiosity, Aurelius having to duck down in order to step properly inside. He peered over Amelia's shoulder, placing a hand on one of them so that he could lean over her properly and see what she was talking about.

"Down it is then!" Aurelius said grandly, giving a decisive nod of his head as he let go of her shoulder and tucked his hands once more into his draping sleeves. "I suppose we should say something now about exercising caution and whatnot, so on and so forth."

He gestured with his head for Amelia to go before him, grinning.

"Or we could just go exploring and forget all of that nonsense."
