Today, the curiously shaped rock - cleaved almost in two by some unknown force, with one of Westfen's familiar whiteflowers placed in between by none other than Westward Bound himself - was placed in the center of the well without fanfare. "Rift in Stone," he said, closing his eyes. "This rock is an allusion to your naming dream - of course - and the bloom..." Well, clearly it was representative of his continued allegiance to Westfen, although Westward Bound didn't want to seem overly sentimental. "You are efficient and clever. You always complete your work, and yet you're careful not to over-hunt, preserving the integrity of Westfen's lands. Clearly, we all admire you. I just hope that you remember to be tender sometimes. I know it's silly - coming from me. I'm probably among the most tenderhearted." This last sentence was said with a deprecating laugh. "The flower is for mercy, which I know you possess in great quantities. Please share in Westfen's warmth with us, in the coming spring. Find someone to be sweet to: I know that you'll never cease to be a good hunter, no matter what."

He nodded slightly, and then stepped away.

Dear Dances Through Dawnbreak,
Entry: Westward Bound was surprised to find that there were objects in the well that hadn't been put there by, well, by him. But it wasn't like that'd deter him, or anything: he still had this flower. For his mother, theoretically, although he hadn't seen her since he was a very young foal himself.


"Mama," he said. "I hope that you learn how to form bonds with people. I know you need to live your own life, and I respect that. But - but I truly think that a group is stronger than the sum of its parts. At Westfen, where we're each able to pursue our own strengths, we've been flourishing. I wish I could find you to tell that to you in person. Instead - well, instead, here's this flower. I hope it reminds you of me. Not that you can see it."

He laughed, a bit hollow. It was clear that he was thinking of Oathkeeper, who was not interested in Westfen in the slightest. "You know, I always thought I'd follow in your footsteps. Just...skimming the surface. Going from person to person. Not getting hurt. But...but sometimes it's nice to get hurt, you know? It means that you - that they care. That's important. So...so please, wander, if you'd like. But I hope you find someone to form attachments to. Don't be too aloof."

He was nervous for sure, he had never been great at speaking his mind or even talk about his emotions but here he was in front of a kimeti doe who was smiling at him -- probably looking at him too, he wasn't sure cause he couldn't see her eyes. She moved her hoof at him to encourage him to go ahead.

"Okay... ah, I don't know if you remember me, or if you will ever see or know me again-- I really hope so." He sighed softly. "I think about you countless times, and it's hard for me to focus because I end up thinking about you and hoping you're alright and happy. You were kind to me even for that one day and-- night." Rush paused, "I just wish I could see you again even for one more day."
