{ You are going to have to do something quite extraordinary to win this one, boil.} Ezekiel agreed, and that was why he reached for that reserve of Fear. Lagertha gave it up easily, eagerly, and with a wild cry of delight the pale blue runes that ran the lengths of the blades on the intermediate's axe flared to life. The mist grinned then, as he felt that raw power tingling up through his hand and as he took a step towards Matt, the man swung the axe like a club. Unleashing the cyclone wind of the Fear charge directly at the other intermediate. Or rather...almost directly at him. The swing went a little wild, the wind not as controlled as it should have been, and the attack wound up spiraling out and away, instead of on a direct path as it should have been. { Oh, well ******** offThe grin was gone. In it's place something closer to a snarl. HP: 9 DMG: 8| ******** you, Zeke. ******** you. CHG: 0/3

He watched, cautiously as the rune’s on Zeke’s axe began to glow meaning that he had charged up his weapon for his next attack. Not that Matt was entirely surprised, his own had done at least some significant damage to his shield, not enough to take him out completely but enough to put at least a little more of a dent than his own. {Brace yourself.}The fairy didn’t have to warn him as Matt tensed up watching as Zeke moved forward to attack and let go of the charge. It was unexpected, it being a cyclone of sorts, but the more baffled look on his face was when it missed him. Completely. {DON’T STAND THERE IDIOT.}He swung, it was half assed, and unaimed, and wildly wrong but it was as if Matt’s mind was still comprehending what was going on and his body was merely moving to the voice in his head. This was one of the more frustrating spars Zeke had been in. Not because he was losing--no, he could accept that--but because neither man was having much luck at all against the other. It was down right maddening. { You can do better than this, boil. Prove it.} I'm working on it, Laggy. He didn't need the valkyrie nagging in his head to motivate him. He was plenty pissed on his own. Dodging Matt's swing, the Mist countered with a quick step forward and a hard, downward slash of the axe's bigger blade. Aiming for the other man's torso. It hit, sapping away a little more of Matt's shield, and the irritation started to trickle away from Zeke's expression as Lagertha gave a delighted hoot in his head. That was more like it. {You missed you really ******** missed HE WAS STANDING THERE OPEN THIS IS HIS FAULT ALL HIM. Dump him. Do it.}The Veela screeched into his head as gave he a rather winced expression before letting his arms drop to his side giving the expression of being at a loss to why he had completely missed. It wasn't as if he was purposely trying to do a poor job but Matt's mind wasn't entirely there, and it showed as the battle continued to drag out. He was going to have to fix this, something had to change but how could he break something he made? {WATCH IT}Kasi’s voice rang in his head just in time to see Zeke bring the axe across his chest, he stumbled back a step his lungs trying to gasp again at the forced removal of air. Blindly he lunged forward his spear aiming low at first before swinging upward towards the other hunter’s shoulder. HP: 12/50 Charge: 2/3 DMG: 3

Zeke's shield was getting weaker, he could feel it. The blow from the other man's weapon stealing his breath away when it collided with his stomach. It had him staggering back a step, coughing to pull air into his lungs, axe drawn up in the defensive. They were getting to the end of it now. { If you are going down, boil. Go down swinging.} He'd already been planning on it, and gave only the barest grunt of a response to the weapon as he shifted his grip on the weapon, moved to close the gap between them again. When he got close he brought the axe up, not for a downward strike, but in a diagonal swing aimed to cut across Matt's torso from hip to shoulder. HP: 6 DMG: 6 CHG: 2/3

If the battle continued on any longer Matt was sure he was going to lose easily, his shield was already reaching a point that gave him an uncomfortable feeling and every hit Zeke landed seemed to hurt more than the last. A few more and he wasn’t going to be able to go back with a few more bruises that he didn’t want the other to worry about. {He’s coming.}The other hunter was charged forward as she spoke, giving Matt just long enough to at least brace himself for the hit in the gut and chest. It hurt, hell it hurt as he gritted his teeth, ignoring the grunt he gave from the force of the blow and annoyance of feeling his shield slip away even more. One more hit he was sure to lose. {He has to leave if you lose.}Swinging the spear he aimed high near the shoulder before putting all of his weight into dragging it down across Zeke’s torso as if returning the favor. They had to be close at this point. Tit for tat, the exchange of blows seemed to even out, and by the feel of it, one more good hit and Zeke, at least, was done. So it'd be a race to see just who crossed that finish line first. Matt, apparently. The Moon charged him, spear coming up up for a sharp stab at his shoulder that continued on in a painful slash across his chest. It hurt, and the Mist didn't need the sensation of his shield breaking under the attack to know it was gone. He felt the pain, the beginning of what was bound to be a very interesting bruise later that night. The force of it knocked him back in a staggering step, and he didn't even try to straighten right away, he knew he was finished. There was no point in pretending he wasn't. The axe disappeared, rune carved pendant flashing back into place around his neck to swing as he put a hand up. "Good hit." Nice job. That had been damn close.
