➳ location: somewhere in Iowa ➳ company: two girls and apparently someone with a gun ➳ status: confused and curious

Hudson continued on towards the trees, staying around the backside of the Walkers as they continued to move away from him. Thankfully none seemed to be noticing his presence as they all focused on trying to find the gunshot. As he neared the orchard, he spotted another figure heading the same direction, looking a little concerned and more than a little grimy. He watched as the girl approached the trees, walking right through the horde of zombies to get there. When she arrived she swung at a few that were crowded around a tree and took off their heads. Hudson raised an eyebrow and came up beside her, sparing a glance up into the tree to see what the commotion was. Perched in the branches was a redheaded girl. He wondered whether the two were together, but that thought was quickly put to rest when the dark-haired girl spoke. The distrust was obvious in her voice.

Now that Hudson was closer, he could see that what he had thought to be dirt and grime was actually blood and guts. Another gunshot went off in the distance, and the girl at the base of the tree addressed the girl up in the tree, asking if a friend of hers might be shooting, before turning to accuse Hudson next. The young English man shook his head in response. "I happen to be alone." He assured her, holding up his hands as if to show he meant no harm as she pointed her weapon at him. The redhead in the tree began to lower herself out of the tree, now that the creatures at the base had been taken care of, and the girl that had taken care of them turned to walk off. Hudson rolled his eyes slightly as the redhead hurried off after her, obviously seeming a bit starstruck. He got the feeling that although she was out here in the middle of this, she led a cushier life than the two strangers she was now faced with. Normally, Hudson would have left the two to their own devices, but with a horde like this... well.. You could never have too much backup.

The English man went off after the two as they hurried in the direction of the gunshot, the redhead pulling a knife only to drop it on the ground and retrieve it again. He was almost bewildered that someone could be acting so carefree and.... well... thoughtless at a time like this. Most people would be terrified. This girl was trying to do knife tricks. That quickly ceased, however, when she seemed to come across a friend of hers lying on the ground. Hudson knelt down beside the boy for a moment, reminding himself why he didn't have any friends. So that things like this wouldn't happen. He rose again, as did the redhead. She introduced herself, and Hudson noted that she had taken the gun from the boy. Hopefully she had enough sense not to shoot it.

When she introduced herself, Hudson felt inclined not to partake in the friendly gesture. He meant them no harm, but he tried to avoid making as many connections as possible. On the other hand, if one airy redhead and a girl that appeared just as distrustful as himself knew his last name, it probably wouldn't come back to haunt him. "Call me Hudson." He muttered finally. "Careful with that thing." He added, gesturing to the gun that she was placing in her back pocket.

The process of getting to the boy in the red sweater was shaking her rib cage like her heart was going to pop right out of it. Her only friend on this God forsaken planet could be dead, and that scared the hell out of her. Stetson was a joker and managed to make things easier in this crappy world they were stuck in. She didn't want to lose that. The brunette didn't say it, but there was an ocean of relief when she realized it wasn't him. It may have washed over her face for a moment before it was replaced with grief for the girl. "I'm so sorry." She told the girl, she was clean other than her boots and in all honestly didn't look like the type that came out of some fortress too often.

Casey May looked like the kind of girl who may stay behind and do chores or look after kids. She was really too pure for a world like this. Alyssa had the chance to change over time with her brothers help, making Alyssa into a totally different person. But it made her stronger, colder from time to time, but she was alive after all. "Alyssa." She would have throne in a good to meet you, but under the circumstances, it may have been ill taste.

When the girl mentioned she had a group, a little bit of worry crossed over Alyssa. There were a few things; a lot of people didn't take too well to a gir l covered in blood and carrying a knife, Stetson was no where to be found, and there was a chance if she went with Casey May... She may not see Stetson again. Layssa watched the two exchange words, almost in a light flirty mannor. Surely if the world was as it once was, this would be a lot more awkward but Alyssa had been with men and woman who'd hook up just for the sake of it. You never know when you might die in a world like this.

When the two were done, Alyssa spoke up. "Does your friend have something to take back to the group? Like carry a wallet still, or something?" When Alyssa lost people, she would bury them and hang a keepsake of theirs off of the marker if possible of course. She did keep a picture of her and her family with her still, in the breast pocket of her jacket, held close to her body. When things got bad she always used it as a way to motivate herself. Living was important, to see this thing until it was over.

Casey May tried her best to keep in her sadness creeping to her eyes, and thankfully trying to keep a lightness to the loss of her group member. She was more than grateful when the woman spoke up and gave an apology. Casey turned her head and smiled at her, thanking her with her expression alone. Looking back, her eyes lingered on his face, they should not have separated. But she couldn't dwell on death.

Standing next to the man, Casey adjusted her pack.As Hudson introduced himself first, she noticed an accent within his words. "Hudson." She said it in a sweet way, grinning almost like she was taken for a spell. There was something about new people that well - was rare these days. Living in Conrad, she had to put up with the same people with the same jokes for awhile. Casey hoped this would be a meaningful introduction, and hopefully she could help them out.

The badass woman than introduced herself as well, making Casey smile at her as well a sigh of relief in her that they both at least gave their names. "And Alyssa. Thank you again for helping me out." Perhaps she could return the favor. The idea of someone being alone out here, it made her heart quench. If she was alone, she would be a goner for sure. Casey was sure that Hudson did not take that with pride, there were surely some reasons why he was alone, and why he had survived so long. She was going to comment on that, but that most likely wold be really rude, so she patted her pocket in reassurance that she could handle the weapon and wasn't going to pop a cap in her own a**. "Oh - Don't worry. Safe to say I am better with a gun than a knife." That was the truth, but using a gun was more dangerous than anything, so it partly didn't matter unless used as a final resource.

Hearing Alyssa's question, Casey jumped to attention. That was probably a very good idea. Swishing her palms together, Casey stared down at his mangled chest, there was a smell starting to rot, but taking a knee, the girl fished through the man's pockets and took his wallet. "If we can't come back for him, this will be enough for his parents." Standing back up, Casey opened it up and there it was, a picture of his family. "He was the preacher's kid." She said it in a manner of pride, though she worried what news this would do to the already unbalanced preacher. Closing the wallet, she put it in her backpack and froze for a moment. Should she tell them? They were probably well due for a shower and some good food. That was the least she could do to thank Alyssa, the boy she just probably wanted to come along for other reasons. She worried that most likely they had seen some terrible things, and of course there was the leader to worry about. Casey could sneak them in, keep them on the farm, and no one would have to worry or know. Well except her overly protective dad. He already lost her mom, and Casey's sister, he didn't need to lose another loved one.

"Do you... I mean, you don't have to, but I'm sure you guys would like to at least catch your breath a little, eat a good meal, a place to rest up." She looked at both at them with begging blue orbs. Before both of them could answer, there were footsteps hurrying towards them, and Casey jumped when she heard her name being shot out in a too familiar way. Three people suddenly showed up surrounding Casey and her new friends. Alarmed at the sight of strangers, Casey's group all had guns up and aimed. One was a dirty blonde, eyes hateful and wearing a camouflaged jacket. That stupid Dennis jumping to assuming things. The boy next to him was his brother, similar hair, but eyes so round and innocent, he probably wasn't going to fire anyhow. The last was an Asian girl, her jet black hair held back in a high ponytail, she looked focused and worried. Casey threw up her hands running up to Dennis' gun with a growl in her voice. "Put that down, stupid head, they helped me!"

Dennis, pissed, rose his gun back again back at the two. "Come on, Casey! You can't trust anyone out here!" He wasn't wrong, but he wasn't right either, the two had done nothing to make her feel not to trust them.

She was going to respond, but the woman dropped her weapon and ran over to Mason's mangled body, her mouth held tight closing in the woman's anguishing sobs. "Mason - - !" The tiny woman scooped up the boy's hand and held it tightly to her chest rocking back and forth. Casey looked away, towards Alyssa and Hudson.

Dennis only now seeming to notice stumbled back a bit, a loose canon, he rose his run up and walked in a small circle his hand tangling up in his hair. Perhaps thinking it was his fault for splitting up. "F ***." Emotional and jumping to conclusions, he hurried towards the two with his gun ready to fire. "So you couldn't save him though, right!" Before he could get any closer, Casey jumped in between the shotgun's barrel and Hudson's face.

"Enough, Dennis!" Casey rose her eyebrows so high daring him, as if he would shoot her. Angry and bitter, Dennis eyes went to Hudson primarily not seeing the dirty girl as a threat and pulled the shotgun's strap back over his shoulder. Casey pushed at the once dependable football player's broad shoulder before continuing. "We'll let the mayor decide if they can stay." Dennis rolled his eyes and woke his brother up from the sight of someone he knew dead. Dennis pulled out a sheet from his backpack as the two brothers started to wrap up Mason, already blood staining the pale green color. The sight of green and red made the Asian girl Julie turn her head hurrying forward.

As they started forward, Casey turned to Alyssa and Hudson with her hands on her hips, how rude her friends had been - she was thankful that they didn't retaliate back. "Sorry ... about that, they are pretty nervous, but I'm sure you guys are welcomed if the Mayor listens to me. But all in all, it is up to you two if you want to come." Casey didn't need to know their pasts or what they had done, as long as they meant no harm to her family in Conrad, they were free to come with. Folding her fingers together in front of her, with hopeful glances between both of them, she smiled gently. "You are of course free to go or stay when you wish, so what will it be?"

➳ location: somewhere in Iowa ➳ company: Gore-Girl, Redhead and some "friends" ➳ status: confused and irritated

Hudson waited patiently as the gore-covered girl gave her condolences over Casey's lost friend, before introducing herself as Alyssa and suggested taking something of the boy's. He didn't say anything out loud, but he could have sworn that he saw relief etched into Alyssa's face at the identity of the body on the ground. Likely relief that it wasn't whoever she had been searching for when she came upon these strangers. Hudson turned to glance back at the redhead -- Casey -- who was smiling sweetly at him as she addressed himself and gore-girl. He raised an eyebrow at her obvious staring and shot a glance at the brunette as though he might be wondering whether he was just imagining it or not. "I didn't exactly do anything." He mumbled at the thanks Casey had directed towards the both of them. He had only walked up on a situation that seemed mostly under control already. He supposed that having the extra bodies in the middle of a horde might make everyone feel a little bit better, though, at the very least.

Hudson shook his head almost in exasperation as the redhead stated that she was better with a gun than a knife. He couldn't help but wonder what on earth this girl was doing out here, especially when the Walker count was so high. "That makes me feel so much better." He replied sarcastically, the mild irritation clear in his tone. In every situation he had been faced with since the death of his family, the Londoner never went to any lengths to be overly polite to anyone, or to sugarcoat anything. The goal initially had been to avoid making any connections with anyone that could haunt him in the event of a death, but as he had put on the act more and more, it had become as natural to him as his personality before the infection was. He wasn't even sure he could recall that Jeremy if he tried. Even if this nightmare suddenly ended and everything was safe again, he was sure that that person was gone for good.

Hudson snapped out of his thoughts as Casey went to pull something out of the man's pocket. It was a wallet. The redhead announced that he had been the preacher's kid, and it just made him feel that much more detached from the situation. He never made friends, he never bothered to learn anyone's profession or who their family was. He never even stayed with anyone for more than a few days tops, and even that was only in dire situations. Hudson said nothing as the girl was quiet for a moment. Then she spoke again, offering the last thing that he expected to hear. Food and rest. Out here, food had been a sort of "fend for yourself" game, and here was someone offering them an entire meal? Unable to help it, a light scoff escaped from Hudson's lips, as though it were too good to be true. However, before he could say anything more, a small group of people appeared, calling after the redhead.

The group approached them with guns raised, and Hudson did nothing but hold up his hands to show that he meant no harm, just as he had when Alyssa had pointed her machete at him. An axe and a spear weren't exactly weapons to bring to a gun fight anyways, so he didn't even bother reaching for them at his back. Hudson gave another glance at Alyssa, concern over the escalating situation on his face as Casey tried to calm the guy that seemed to be in charge. Suddenly, the guy was in his face, shouting about their friend with the gun at his head. The surprise was clear, but he still made no move to speak just yet. The innocent-seeming redhead jumped between him and the barrel of the gun, then, trying to stop the chaos that had ensued. Finally the man -- Dennis -- backed down, slinging the gun back over his shoulder with a huff before going to take care of the task at hand.

"In my defense, I didn't exactly save her either..." Hudson mumbled finally, rolling his eyes and turning his back to the group that was now taking care of their dead friend's body. Then, still sounding rather hopeful that the two of them would accept her offer, Casey started moving again, putting her previous question back on the table and apologizing for her friends. Hudson gave another glance towards gore-girl, as if waiting for her to take the lead on responding. The offer of food and one night of rest without having to keep one eye open sounded fantastic, but he wasn't willing to trust it completely unless someone else like himself was. It was rather obvious that Casey lived in a far more optimistic world than Hudson and Alyssa did, and the "welcome" they had just received had him on edge.

For a time, Alyssa was amazed by the red headed girl, she had kindness that Alyssa was sure had died out a long time ago with this world. She could laugh and smile more freely it seemed. She joked with the two survivors as if they were old friends. It was something Alyssa longed for. Things to be normal again, but in the end so much had happened, could she really go back to a normal life? She had seen so many die that she was close to being numbed to it.

The brunette could only smile sullenly at the blue eyed girl, she would have to deliver the news to some parents. That would be hard on it's own, losing a member of your team and then having to take the news back to the remaining family. Out of the kindness of her heart, Casey May made a very tempting offer. Alyssa's stomach did feel like it was touching her backbone. It was sparse around here, now it made sense, Casey Mays group probably scavenged the radius of their camp clean. Speaking of said group, they weren't very friendly, also a bit paranoid. Alyssa probably would too.

Alyssa played it safe and put her weapon in it's sheath, keeping her hands in view afterwords. A look of total annoyance crossed the short woman's face. Guess this is what happens when you help others. She glanced at Hudson as Casey was making her argument. He looked like he had done plenty of traveling. The short woman looked at Casey as she turned to them, her face relaxed a little. It had to be hard in that situation. Especially when you had a lose cannon pointing a gun at you. Alyssa's hands went up as he approached, if she had to, she'd rick knocking the gun out of their faces. It happened to be unnecessary.

Casey was surely a little spitfire, the thought made Alyssa smile. The was short lived though, the two brothers wrapping up Mason to be buried. Alyssa listened to Casey once again, the offer so nice it was almost too good to be true. Casey May had proved to a point that she was pretty trust worthy. That or her naive expression made Alyssa too comfortable. "Your offer is kind." She rubbed her rough hands together, trying to think if it was going to be okay if she went. "It's just I'm not alone, and I can't find my partner." She pressed her lips together, before sliding her hands into her pockets. Stetson was a resourceful man, he may have just gone there himself. "If I could speak with your mayor, see if he was spotted by there or even went there I'd appreciate it." Alyssa felt guilty that her stomach was pushing her farther to do this than being held back for her concern for Stetson. She was worried, but she was starving and the sound of a good nights rest made her eyelids feel heavy.

Switching her eyes from the two before her and the trotting off party of hers, she wanted them all to come to Conrad, no one should be out here alone. Thankfully she found that Alyssa had not been alone, and that comforted the smiling redhead who tilted her head in a trusting way and spoke with her hands. "I'm sure that whoever you are waiting for will be just as welcomed, but yeah, talking to the mayor is the best bet if you want to find your friend." Flashing a smile at both of them, she started to walk in their direction, her finger pointing to them.

"Let's keep close, there's still a lot of deadheads around." Alert suddenly, her cascade blues shot to Hudson who looked hesitant and very quiet not counting how he was honest about not having anything to do with saving her. Shrugging her shoulders, Casey dipped one hip and hinted sarcasm at the proper speaking boy with her lazy southern mouth. "Did or didn't, ain't leaving a fellow survivor out." True, it was impossible for the dancing red head to hide her rather temperament attraction to Hudson's wild and distant way. Sue her, she was quick to like.

Alyssa was number one, however. Jumping to her side, she seemed enamored wondering how on earth she had figured out the guts and blood trick. Gushing over the woman that was under her chin in height, Casey waved her hands about in excitement and gave her something else to look forward too. "I seriously thought you were one of them, but you'll be able to get a shower for sure." Fixing her pack on her shoulder, they followed the deceased Mason covered, though there was blood leaking from his sheet. Dennis turned an evil eye over his shoulder glowering at the intimidating and strange woman, this Alyssa wasn't going to fall out of his sight.

Eventually, the party with two new members came to the shadowing wall of Conrad. Dennis hollered out over the wall to the gatekeeper, "Hey, Ben, let us in." There was the sound of metal being pinged slowly in an asceneding fashion. "What's the password?" The hoarse voice, humor filled, almost like a loving grandpa chuffled from behind the wall. When he looked over the wall, the man had specs and a graying beard, he really looked like a redneck Santa Claus including his cowboy hat, but when the aging man looked to what was in their hands, his eyes turned his heart on his sleeve. "Oh, no...," rushing for the pedals, the gate started to move opening up to a huge amount of space before the visitor's eyes. It was a very old looking downtown regular, one that you would probably see on a postcard. As they entered, the people that were out in the street seemed to all retreat to the town establishments.

The sight of a father finding his son dead, a man in a suit, clean and in tears came to the bundle of blood that was his son. Holding his clothed head, a grown man lost to his grief, the Asian lady from before running to his side and grabbing his hand. The brothers walked away, Dennis being the one to pull his brother away from the sight, a bit speechless and silent as he walked with him and Dennis seemed to whisper some stuff in his ear. As he was about to leave the newcomers out of his sight, he gave them a warning glance. Coming down the town street was a man surrounded by armed men coming up straight to new faces. Casey stood solid, she knew what was right. One of the men, she knew well. Raising her head a bit, preparing herself, her father was one of Conrad's council, the man in front was indeed who they most likely guessed - this man was the mayor. Yet the man behind him with a scheming persona was the leader behind the friendly face.

➳ location: Conrad? ➳ company: Gore-Girl, Redhead and some "friends" ➳ status: hesitant to trust

Hudson listened as Alyssa stated her terms for going with the redhead to her home -- speaking with the mayor to find out about her traveling companion. The Englishman couldn't help but think that her friend was probably dead, just like Casey's, but he bit his tongue and kept himself from saying it out loud. He got the feeling that a comment like that would cause the gore-covered girl to take his head off with her machete, and he wasn't too keen on losing it to another survivor after how far he had already made it on his own. Instead, he took her willingness to give it a chance as a sign that perhaps he was being a bit too paranoid by hesitating to agree. Alyssa surely had been living a lot like him, and if she thought that the redhead was trustworthy, there was no reason that Hudson shouldn't give this place a chance for a shot at one decent night of rest and a filling meal.

As they began to move, following a short distance behind the others from Casey's camp, the redhead shot a glance at the male, stating in a lazy southern drawl that she wasn't leaving a fellow survivor out, whether he had actually done anything to help or not. "That kind of attitude is what gets you killed." Hudson muttered coldly under his breath, trailing at the back of the group. It wasn't so much the girls, as that he was keeping as much distance between himself and the loose cannon at the front as possible. According to Dennis, the death of their friend was his fault, and he doubted the other male would be happy that he had decided to join them. As they continued on, the redhead bounced beside Alyssa, gushing over her gore technique. Hudson would be lying if he said he wasn't impressed by it as well, but he didn't tend to show things like that, whereas Casey was treating the other girl as though she were some kind of celebrity. He kept his eyes forward instead of joining in the conversation, and so he caught it when Dennis shot a glare over his shoulder at Alyssa.

Hudson kept his eyes trained on the intimidating man until they reached the gate, to make sure he wasn't going to try and pull anything. He felt a sort of loyalty towards somebody that was like him over these people with obviously higher standards of living. He raised his eyes slightly to look at the man that peered over the edge of the large wall. This man seemed far less cranky than the group of younger people that they had encountered -- more like Casey than Dennis. However, all trace of humor fled from his face when he saw what the young folks were carrying. With a loud, metallic sound, the space before them cleared to reveal a cookie-cutter town on the inside. No wonder this girl seems so optimistic. Hudson thought as they passed through the gate, into the emptying streets. This town was like something out of a movie, and seemed so distanced from the world that lay outside. As they stood, a well-dressed man came forward to take his place beside the blood-stained sheet. Presumably the man's father. The Asian girl joined him, but Dennis and the other man began to walk away, muttering to one another as they went. Hudson met Dennis' warning glance, but was quickly distracted by the group of gun-bearers marching towards them.

He looked up as the man that he assumed was in charge approached, but said nothing, leaving anything that needed to be said up to the girls. He had been offered food and rest, not asked for it, so if this mayor decided that they were not welcome, Hudson would be quick to give the man his way. He had learned not to beg for things and not to get his hopes up, and he had no intention of causing problems for these people. If the mayor decided that they could not stay, then it would simply be just as Hudson had anticipated: to good to be true.

Alyssa didn’t think that Casey May realized how incredibly kind she was. If Alyssa wasn’t so dehydrated, she may just cry. The brunette nodded, a light smile on her lips with her eyebrows pulled in a mousy expression. She was delighted that she would get a good meal and be able to try and contact Stetson. Alyssa followed behind Casey May, her little legs making her take fast paced strides to keep up from time to time. Casey was too good for this sick, sick world. It was funny to see the short gore girl next to this tall beauty. Alyssa raised a brow at Hudson, that was dark. She had a time like that, many times in the two years traveling. She wasn’t judging him, Alyssa just understood that mindset.

In the time of the s**t hitting the fan, Alyssa and her brothers made plenty of mistakes and she had probably a hundred regrets. They had all lost people after all.

The red head surely had a lot of energy, enough to keep pulling smiles from Alyssa, her hands waving about in hyper speed. “I’m looking forward to it, prior to what you guys might think, this isn’t as glamorous as it seems.” She joked light heartedly, Casey easily pulled her more relaxed side out, and perhaps it was because it was the first living girl her age she had seen in over a year. Feeling the look of a glare, Alyssa looked at the man with a slight frown just enough that pulled the corner of her mouth. She would love to smack him silly. Dennis was just upset surely, Alyssa could understand the distrust. She didn’t appreciate it nonetheless. The brunette did catch a glimpse of Hudson Keeping an eye out, but it could be her mind playing tricks on her. He was most likely looking out for himself.

Alyssa realized what he was looking at shortly, the man’s family and guns. That was a lot of guns. It made the hair on the brunette’s neck rise. She stood just under chin height to Casey, but did her best to look formidable. The blood tended to help. They walked side by side, the cookie cutter people retreating to their pristine looking homes. An ache of jealousy crept up into Alyssa, to sleep in a bed of her own was a perverse idea. The female looked to the taller red head, hopefully she knew what she was doing, "Should I?" She inquired. Would it be a good move to address the Council as it would be come to known.

Feeling: Panicked, scared.
Place: God knows where
Thoughts: Oscar I swear to god!!
Companions: A town?

Xenia rubbed her arms, the thing about being forgetful was that she could never remember to bring warm clothing until the last minute. She was pretty peeved really, she was sitting with her sniper rifle on top of a building waiting for her dumb a** of a brother to get some supplies. They had gotten low since Alyssa had gotten into a fight with Stet and decided to run off and all the chores were left for the twins. In all honesty, Xenia would have gone with her, but she didn't have a choice but to stay because of her brother. When Stet ran off to go find her two days ago and didn't come back, it caused a ripple of panic through the twins. Was he eaten? Was there other survivors? What if she had left and Oscar was all alone? Xenia felt a pang of guilt despite her not leaving him. Xenia was also pretty sure she had sniped the last clan that had tried to cause trouble downtown, although they were uptown. "We aren't gonna find anything jack a**, let's just go." She leaned over the edge of the roof dangerously, she had always loved heights. She attracted a small group of zombies hanging around the other side of the street, they banged at the closed door after which she heard a barely audible cuss from Oscar. She held back a chuckle and readied her sniper, hands moving skillfully along the cold metal as they danced into position. She always loved snipers rifles, she could aim from one end of the street to the other like she was aiming at a red sign only a few feet from her. She aimed it downwards, towards the back of the pack so the undead annoyances would fall back slightly from the noise. Breathe in, breathe out, fire. The recoil jolted through her body like a zap of electricity. Fire. Her shoulder was basically numb from the feeling of the gun hitting her collar bone. She could hear footsteps behind her, Oscar coming up with hopefully some stash. Fire. One more stood quietly, it was almost chilling how it wasn't banging on the door. It slowly turned it's face up, she stared at it through the view finder, the face belonged to one of her crew. Fire. Well it used to. She sighed as more slowly crawled themselves out of the shops, her muffler wasn't that quiet.

"I found a packet of chips and some pickled onions, I guess that's breakfast." Oscar had banned them from eating any resources at the camp, they needed as much as they could when Stet and Alyssa came back. Oscar was the most panicked, his fingers shook as he opened the packet of chips. It was cold , but it wasn't that cold. He knew Xenia couldn't handle low temperatures very well. He shrugged off his hoodie and threw it at her, she cussed at him but put it on anyway. There was silence as they ate, it was a nice day despite the slight cold. The chips tasted good in his mouth, he loved salted chips and it was a lucky find to find pickled onions, Xenia seemed to like weird food. He greedily ate the whole packet, it was a very big packet anyway. "Looks like it might rain tonight, better not be out long." Xenia looked up at the distant clouds, his foster mother was obsessed with the weather and she looked to indulge Xenia in her weird hobbies. He nodded as he looked up too, wiping his hands on his jeans as he stood up slowly. "We had best find lunch then. " Xenia let out a small snort, and got up. There was an empty jar beside her and it scared him how fast she ate, she had always been a fast eater. They jumped onto the next roof, luckily around the upper section of town everything was more crowded. Oscar was about to jump on the next roof when Xenia stopped him.

"What's wrong?" Oscar asked, nervousness evident in his voice. Xenia always knew what Oscar was feeling, she read him like an open book. She had caught a glimmer of a reflective light, that meant people. "Follow quickly." Xenia's heart fluttered at the thought of people, she loved to bring up a challenge. She easily weaved herself through the rooftops, jumping across the small gaps and dodging chimneys and broken pieces of planking. She was surprised how close they were, Xenia and Oscar had never been this far before. She stopped at the last building, there was a fire escape on the side but she preferred to climb down the windows for excitement. Whilst she was panting softly, Oscar was having a hard time breathing. She patted his back softly and walked towards the empty road, maybe Stet had gotten taken by these strangers?

Xenia and Oscar hid in the bushes, people seemed to come and go from the settlement. Xenia scouted the area for any holes, it seemed pretty tight and hard to get in. She had a feeling Stet was in here, this seemed like the type of place he'd get himself kidnapped in. Whilst walking here, she had caught up with a bunch of scavengers, the reflective light seemed to be an Ipod. She hadn't seen one in ages, she wondered if she could steal it and get Oscar to turn in on. He was good at technology, he was such a nerd in high school. She pulled Oscar into the group and walked in, it seems the guards were too busy looking at something else to notice the two new group members. Xenia almost gasped when she looked at the place and she was sure Oscar was equally as gobsmacked, there was a lot people here. And it wasn't far from their town either, that clan she had killed with Stet was probably from here. She remember Alyssa getting really mad at her for coming back home bloody, she must have looked like a horror story. She pulled Oscar behind a building, it was a small house and it looked quaint. She wished that the group could have a house as attractive as this.

"We need to steal some food, look around and see if we can find Stet.--" Oscar stared at her, she looked back at him. That sounded like Alyssa. They peered out from wall, Oscar's heart thrummed in his chest wildly. It was her. And she was surrounded. "You don't think--??" Xenia nodded slowly, Oscar was sure too. But he was sure they were friendly, they didn't look like they were harming Alyssa. Actually he couldn't see from this this angle because of Xenia's luxurious damn waves. He decided to risk it, he could save the day. He ran from his cover, Xenia looking at him as if he were the dumbest creature left in this world, perhaps he was. "Alyss--" He was stopped halfway by a sudden pain in his knee caps, his step forward was blocked by a toned leg covered in bloody jean. He fell to the ground with a large thump, he was seeing stars before Xenia shook him out of reality as she tried to pull him up. "You f****ing idiot!" Xenia hissed at him, giving him a small butterfly knife before nodding towards the group. He nodded, they were way too panicked to figure anything out right now. Oscar ran towards the closest target he could find, that turned out to be a redhead woman who looked very clean despite them being in an Apocalypse. He lunged at her blindly as he ran, his steps slightly wobbly from fear. Xenia climbed on a barrel that was placed conveniently behind the house , and lunged herself onto the roof. She threw the hoodie off and righted her sniper, hand easily finding itself onto the trigger as she aimed it towards the strange man in front of Alyssa who looked of importance. They both knew they were screwed, but with hostages they might come out with a few limbs. "Give us the man and the brunette woman and we won't hurt Miss. Cheetos Hair." Xenia didn't even know if Oscar had even caught the woman or not, which she hoping he did. Or she would have to snipe and that would be hard when the town had all of her damn group.

Casey May was kinda a little star dazed continuously looking over her shoulder to make sure that Hudson was still some ways behind them. Good, she was happy and sure he wouldn't regret trusting her. What could go wrong? People were suppose to help people after all.

Well, a few things went wrong. One, the whole council came upon the three of them, her father looking at her with that already scowl set in place, she already knew he didn't trust her brash decisions, but he had to know her heart was always in the right place. Her smile kinda left her as they had guns and looked intimidating. The girl seemed to shy up and close her shell, but luckily Alyssa offered to say a few words. "Nah, it's okay. Let me start it off." Casey smiled with relief and gratitude, but that was all she needed to at least start the tone with everyone.

Offering her hand, she introduced what she brought back with her. "I know this hasn't ever happened before, but they helped me in a really tight spot, and they have been out there for a long time." She said it in a way that was as dark as it was, scary, living each day to live, no rest or solace, Casey couldn't imagine the fear. Looking to the mayor who was listening to her with hopefully unclouded opinion from the others, she asked formally to them as if she was asking if they could stay for a sleep over. "So... Can they stay? Please?" The red head laced her fingers together, nervously and weakened her eyes as if she was asking her father alone. Jeb, Casey's father, shook his head at his girl and then looked over to the mayor with a hearty southern voice. "What do you think?"

The mayor seemed to stall, but the man behind him stepped up and whispered in his ear. "Ho, that's true. That is indeed true." The mayor than decided to smile and offer his hand as if for them to speak. "I don't see why not, except, you have to understand that we have to be cautious... Please, introduce yourselves." A kind man who wore his heart on his sleeve, Casey already was satisfied that he was going to at least let them stay a day to recover. A sparkle in her blue orbs, she looked to both Alyssa and Hudson with a cherry bomb grin. Gesturing at Hudson to come closer this all seemed like Alyssa and Hudson were going to perform a choir duet before the town. Taking a few steps away from them, she stood rather proud of herself for bringing them with her. If anything, she really latched onto Alyssa. She reminded her a lot of her devote sister, reckless, but so strong willed. As they seemed to speak out to the mayor and the rest, something unexpectedly took full control of this going well first impression.

Casey May felt her body being tugged against a solid back. Casey May screamed.

➳ location: Conrad? ➳ company: Gore-Girl, Redhead and some "friends" .. attackers ➳ status: hesitant to trust .. annoyed

Hudson stood awkwardly to the rear of the group as Alyssa inquired as to whether she should speak first. Casey kept shooting the male looks, as though she were trying to be sure that he was still with them. He raised an eyebrow questioningly each time, but finally the redhead stepped forward, taking control of the situation. The girl began to speak, and Hudson kept his eyes focused on the gunmen. He didn't like guns, and he didn't trust most people that held them. Due to this distrust, however, he failed to notice the two people that were sneaking quietly in through the gate behind them. He listened carefully as the official looking men mumbled between themselves for a few moments. He was skeptical that they would agree -- one of the men in particular looked a bit frustrated. He had a feeling that they may not be as welcome as Casey had suggested.

After a moment, however, the man that was presumably the mayor spoke again with a smile, stating that he would like them to introduce themselves and that it may just be alright for them to spend at least a night. Hudson raised an eyebrow again, wondering what the man behind him had muttered to make the mayor agree to the redhead's request. Casey gestured for the male to come forward a bit, and he hesitated, furrowing his brows at her slightly and glancing at Alyssa once more as if she were only there to reinforce the idea that it was alright to take these people's offer. Finally the Londoner sighed and moved forward -- though not by much -- so that he was now beside Alyssa instead of behind her, and opened his mouth to speak.

"I'm-" He began, but was interrupted by an ear piercing scream.

Hudson snapped his head up just in time to see a male pulling Casey into his grasp. In an instant, Hudson's ax was swung around from his back, and held in a defensive position before him. "What is this?" The English male snapped, facing the suspicious man and his hostage. He eyed Alyssa, trying to make sure that she was on her guard as well. If she had been living like him, hopefully she would be just as distrustful of this attacker as he was. Which would mean he would have backup if things were to come to a fight. Hopefully they would be able to talk things through in a civil manner, but Hudson didn't have that much confidence in people these days, so he figured he'd better at least be prepared.

This seemed to turn into a big headache, Alyssa was letting Casey may take charge, explaining to her people that Alyssa and Hundson were welcome, when a certain little clumsy member of her group took a dive into the scene. The brunette face-palmed, unbothered by the whole situation, Alyssa knew well that Oscar was incapable of hurting a fly. Especially a certain, equally incapable of harm, Casey May. Alyssa’s uneasiness was met with guns, the guards didn’t take to kindly, but luckily they were the type to ask questions first rather than to shoot. The small girl put her hands up, a light smile on her face. Hudson was eager to attack Oscar, he was lucky that Alyssa was his friend; he would have lost his head.

“What’n the hell are you doing Oscar?” Her accent was a little more apparent when she was under pressure. Maybe it seemed that she was in danger, and Alyssa was grateful he was willing to put his life on the line and all, but this was not the best move. “Let the girl go, she’s on our side here.” She whispered to the male, a small smile on her face. She gave a look of sympathy to Casey May. Putting her hands down the female looked to Hudson, surely he was confused as any, the English man was ready to take a life if it meant his own.

Alyssa dropped her arms, extending one out to the frightened Casey. “I’m sorry, he’s usually got better manners.” The blue eyed girl smiled in hopes to comfort her. When Casey was seemingly safe Alyssa looked to the siblings, motioning them over.

“We’re a group, these two, I and another man.” She started off, sorry Hudson. “Now they had no idea I was here, we’d been split for a few days.” Alyssa was doing her best to be polite but unwavering. “I was hoping to stop here for the night so I could recuperate, and find my people.” She glanced at them, a softened look sweeping over her face. It took a second, but even with the mistake Oscar made, Alyssa was blessed to know they were okay after days apart. “I understand if you’re concerned, I would be, but we’ll prove our worth.”

Alyssa knew just about no one could out shoot Xenia, and Oscar was a great mechanic. Stetson, if they found Stetson that would just be a relief. “And what if she has more ‘people’?!” A man shouted, of course it wasn’t one she recognized because it was behind the wall. That helped cause a stir for sure. The noise behind the wall was gradually climbing. “We don’t have the resources for that many!” Which wasn’t a complete lie, winter had left them on scraps and the summers harvest was just making way. They would need people to can, grow, and make food.

Feeling: Aggressive, Worried.
Place: God knows where
Thoughts: FIght me everyone. What's good?, Chill!1!!!!
Companions: A town?, Alyssa

Xenia didn't realise there were more guards, she could probably face them with the right cover but today was not her day. Oscar looked at the screaming woman with fright, he felt kind of like an a*****e. So when he had the chance to let her go, he stepped away faster than when Alyssa had finished her sentence. "Alyssa we were worried about you! Well i was, Xenia just got mad because she didn't get any sleep. Also it was Xenia's idea to take the girl hostage not me!" He went in for a hug, he was glad that he had found one of the older members. Xenia jumped from the roof, swinging down from the edge and landing on her feet more graceful than a feline. "Snitch!" She was more hesitant than her brother, so she kept her eyes on Alyssa and just ignored everyone else, leaning in close to Alyssa when she came in for a hug as well. "Stet hasn't come home in a few days, you know he's not like that. I've got the feeling he's here or I fear the worst." Her whisper was barely audible, there was too many people close for comfort. Looking at the age range, they looked the youngest by a few years, not that she didn't mind faking her age. She looked at the little posse Alyssa had seemed to form, there was a guy who looked like he wasn't from around here and a red head who looked like she hadn't really been in danger. She was guessing that because she screamed like a pig and most people learnt not to scream unless they were getting mauled by zombies.

Xenia and Oscar shifted themselves towards Alyssa, finding comfort in what they knew. "Prove our worth? " Oscar gave Xenia a look, Xenia gave Oscar the finger. She held her sniper in her right hand, keeping it close to seem threatening. She didn't know where the hell Oscar had put her knife and she slightly offended he would loose it in the confusion. It was a pretty knife. Xenia and Oscar glared at each other for a few moments before they heard the man. "If we did we would have kicked your a**!" Xenia screamed at the random man, who the hell did these people think they were? "Shut up Xenia."
"No you!"
"No you-- I am not having this conversation with you.
He covered her mouth rough with one palm, due to years of sibling hood he didn't care if she got minor bruise. He looked apologetic to everyone as Xenia just glared at everyone, she didn't want to get in a fight right now with her brother. Though she could outrun him, he could easily pick her up due to the lack of body mass. She would probably shoot him if he won their fight, yeah that seemed like a thing she would do. Oscar slowly took his hand off Xenia's mouth, a hand on the shoulder told Xenia to calm down. Of course Oscar was the gentle and peace making one, that's why all the neighborhood mothers wanted him to baby sit when they were younger, and probably because he looked than he was and she found the middle aged woman digged that. It made her 15 year old self puke when she saw their eyes leeching onto Oscar, she nearly kicked them out of their foster home for accusing one of the women as a *****, that had slowed down the babysitting business and Oscar had been really upset.
