Noah's eyes narrowed further, and he got up, pulling Al up with him. "Come on," he said, "we're going home so we can shower and get something to eat and get some real sleep, I bet you didn't sleep so good on the ground and I didn't really get any sleep."

Al yelped as he was hauled back up to his feet. Yup, Noah's estimations of the situation were pretty accurate. Al culdn't argue with them. He couldn't really even try to argue with them. "Are... are there any Poptarts left?" He sounded surprisingly hopeful.

"Uh huh, there's three packets of the s'mores ones left." Noah started back toward the path, keeping hold of Al's hand. "Three each," he clarified, just in case Al had been under the impression that one of them was getting more than a fair share.

Al, in that split second, had been hoping the one with extra Poptarts was him. Oh well, maybe next time. He gave Noah's hand a squeeze as they began their long trek back home. He tried to talk again several times along the way but mostly all he managed were strange squeak-like noises. It wasn't until they reached actual buildings that he finally managed to form words from the thoughts swimming in his head. "I... I'm not embarrassing am I?"

Noah looked back to Al with each squeak, but didn't ask about it, making the trek back quietly. He was tired and sort of achy, and he figured he'd hear about whatever it was whenever Al got up enough energy to get it out, and trying to pry it out of him would probably make both of them cranky.
When Al finally did come out with it, Noah stopped and looked at his boyfriend blankly. "Embarrassing?" he said. "I'm the nerd here ok? Don't be dumb."

Al smiled rather dopily at the answer he'd received. It simultaneously diffused some of his anxieties while making "nerd" look good. He walked into Noah and side-bumped him affectionately. "You calling me dumb now?"

Noah elbowed Al, though not hard. "Uh huh, I did call you dumb because you were being dumb." He stuck his tongue out and started walking again, towing Al along toward the dorms. "I'm not, I'm not embarrassed by you ok? I might have been if we'd, like. Before everything? But I'm not, because I know I want to be with you, ok? I like you and what you do. Even if you're dumb sometimes."

Al couldn't argue with anything Noah had to say but he still felt terrible. "I'm sorry for being dumb." He looked down at his feet, watching every step he took on their journey back home. "And.... thank you for not letting me stay dumb." He peered up at Noah even as his head still remained tilted downwards, chin to his chest.

"I'm dumb sometimes too," Noah said, embarrassed, his eyes dropping. "I just, I didn't want you to stay out there all alone. I'm glad you're okay. I don't, I, I stopped being stupid about that so I'm gonna try not to start again." He slipped through the dorm doors, dodging a small group headed for breakfast, and headed for the showers.

Al leaned his head against Noah's and sighed. Closing his eyes a moment and just allowing himself to be lead. That was until they passed the group and he realized they were in the dorm area and almost home - then passing home. Where were - s**t. He realized all too late that Noah had let him straight into a trap.
