He was probably right. The boys likely did get their lack of secret keeping abilities from her. "Mmmmm. Maybe~ He always seemed to know the exact thing to say, and she just... Stumbled about it often enough.
"We could be scrubbing every tree in the jungle clear of bugs and I'd be happy. So long as you're right there with me~" She smiled, leaning into him. The idea of no chores was pretty tempting though. A night where they got to relax and not have to worry about kids? How could they get so lucky?

This was exactly what he wanted in the first phase of their date. The sun was going down, painting the sky with vibrant pinks and oranges to mingle with the blue. They were walking snuggled together in the cool outdoors, just talking. It was so very calming. "Oh really? I think I can get some cleaning supplies if you really want." He spoke playfully before leaning down to kiss the top of her head. "We've raised a fine family, but I love that the only voice I hear is yours."

Star rolled her eyes, "No cleaning supplies, please. After everything around the village and the house, I really am cleaned out." A joke and a statement in the same sentence. She was still smirking though, happy to be spending such a beautiful evening with him.
"A wonderful family it is, but I'll never stop loving nights like tonight, where it's just the two of us~" She placed a kiss on his chest, unable to go much higher without breaking his hold on her.

As she rolled her eyes he laughed, holding her all the tighter. "We'll save that for another date then." She was so beautiful. Guardians he was a lucky demon. "Makes me think waaayy back to before Junior and Shageki even, to when I was an awkward teen trying to woo the most gorgeous girl on the isle. Hopelessly bothering his older brother for help."

"Most gorgeous girl? Oh please. I was the most awkward teen on the isle! I still can't believe you thought I was pretty back then~" She laughed, still finding it hard to believe he found her attractive at all. "Tris has nothing on you for romance. He might be a good looking pae, but he's no shiny banana~" Star teased. He may not like the color of his skin, but she swooned every time he stretched to show off his muscles, or showed how sweet he was. She was a very lucky demoness to have a husband like him.
"If anything, he should be taking lessons from you~"

"Oh no, no. You can't fool my memory. You were the most gorgeous girl then, and the most extraordinary woman now." He grinned with her until that old nickname popped up, where he straight up laughed. "That nickname will stick to me until the day I die. I bet Amara never thought it would be twisted around to be something sweet." How was his sister? It had been...years since he saw her. Way before his mother passed.
But that was a thought he'd shove away for now. Tonight was just him and starry, no twisted older sisters. "I doubt that. He's probably quite content with the dozens of pae that fall for him every day. But that's alright." Dameon looked down at the red head demoness. "Because none of them are you. And I wouldn't trade lives with him for even a second."

Star shook her head. No way he thought she was gorgeous. At least not as a teen. She might be kinda pretty now, and was most certainly good looking in general. But he still won. He was far more handsome than she'd ever thought she'd deserved.
"She thought it would be something to make fun of you for your entire life. I don't think Amara ever considered the idea I might love you in all of your yellow glory~" Star leaned up, kissing his cheek. She hadn't even thought too much of Amara in the past few years. Maybe once around the time they tried to get the entire family together for a reunion or meeting. Since then, she hadn't thought of the fae...
"I wonder if he'll ever find the kind of love we have? He had Sunny for a while, but that went sour didn't it?" She frowned a little, wondering how it was possible that they were the happy family out of their family. She wouldn't trade their life for anything, but that didn't mean she wouldn't still worry. "I love you too Dame~"

It was good that she didn't contest the issue any further, because he'd keep saying that she was gorgeous until his face turned as blue as hers. "I doubt it myself. She was always a pessimist though." Then when Raken found Fre...that was about the time she called it quits on family and struck out on her own.
"Sunny? Oh...yeah...I don't think so." He frowned with her, thinking on what a disaster that turned into. "He'd have to find the right pae first, and then second I don't think he'll ever try again." He didn't know all the facts to his older brothers relationship, but he did know that it really, deeply hurt him. "I love you too Star. We shouldn't be talking about them though, we should be focusing on us! Our lives are so centered around kids and helping other pae, that we don't focus enough on ourselves."

"OKay okay, you're right. Just us, no one else. I'm sorry I brought them up." She smiled, admitting defeat. They had so rarely spent time that was just the two of them, almost felt as if the kids and the family was their life.
"What should we talk about Dame?" She asked, looking up to him. She didn't want the night to be spent on things only she'd done recently. He was just as important as she was.

"It's okay. We've been so wrapped up with everyone else I wonder sometimes if we can focus on ourselves." He spoke with a chuckle as a joke, but there was some truth to it.
But he only had to distract for a little longer, as they were almost to his second surprise. "Well...as our kids are almost all grown up, we should talk about the future. Where do you see us in a few years? I'd like to think us much the same. Together, raising great grandchildren."

Starry tried not to sigh. He was right, she was afraid they wouldn't ever be able to focus on just themselves. "It's nice not to have any problems of our own to worry about, even if we do forget how to focus on just us after this." She leaned into him, looking up to her shiny yellow man. Handsome shiny yellow man.
"Mmmm... The future? I think you're right Dame. We'd be almost the same as we are now, but we'd be raising great great great grandchildren. How many greats are we up to?" she wondered, thinking about how many of their grandchildren had grandchildren of their own. "Maybe we'll have adopted a few more of our own, a little older than Siofra was next time..." She pondered that, pretty certain she'd be willing to take in children of any age, but would her knight in shining armor do the same?

He was very thankful about that. Between the two of them and with how long they had been together, there was no issues in their relationship. Not anymore. He could never thank the guardians enough for a second chance with that.
"Uhh...two? Or three?" Math wasn't his strong suit. Where was Raken when he needed him? Come to think about it, he hadn't seen his sibling in months...which was very peculiar.
He just couldn't help but think of other pae! His attention was pulled away for him however at mention of adopting. Adopting... "Actually, I was thinking on that...I know last time was...awful." Beyond awful. The screaming and blood and him rushing off to Raken. It was horrific to think about. "Is that the last time we'll have kids?"
They were getting older, and Soliel had taken a huge toll. But him being a dad just felt like who he was. A huge chunk of him. "Either way, our home is always open for any pae who needs help. Of any age."

"Two or three? Good Guardians, I'm sure we've got more than that." She laughed. Starry wasn't giving him a hard time for not knowing how many times they'd been made grandparents. She didn't even know herself.
His next question had her frowning though. A hand dropped hesitantly to her stomach, remembering what a terrible condition she'd been in after Soliel. "I... I think so Dameon." Tears started to well up in her eyes. "Children are wonderful and I love having them with you Dameon... But I'm afraid next time I won't make it through birth..." She shook her head, the entire thought depressing. She couldn't leave Dameon here alone. It would be so selfish. "We can adopt, we can always adopt and help..." the hand on her stomach moved to wipe the tears that had started to fall.
Being a parent was the second best thing that had ever happened to her. She would always be a mom, even if she couldn't have anymore of her own. "I'm so sorry Dame

He knew the answer before she even said it, her face carrying more than a hundred words. It wasn't like he could hide his disappointment. Guardians knew, he'd have to hide what he hid in that picnic basket coming up. It was something he'd suspected and thought ready to accept but...no more kids. A heavy thing to swallow.
But the one thing he cared more about than that feeling of raising kids, was Starry. He brought them to a halt as he lifted his free arm to wrap around her in a hug. "Oh no Star, there's nothing to be sorry about. It...it was selfish of me to even ask." Won't make it through birth. No. He would never, ever risk losing Starry. Nothing was worth that.

And she felt terrible for saying it. It was so selfish to say no to more children. What if the next time child birth was easy? What if next time it was as simple as it had been with Shageki and Junior? Or Cressida? She hadn't almost died with any of their first three. Just on their fourth... Maybe it was because she was getting older, but was she being selfish for not wanting to try?
"I'm sorry Dameon.. It's selfish of me to say no. Being a dad is a huge part of your life, and being a mom is a huge part of mine..." Star burrowed into his chest, arms wrapping around him. "Maybe.. If we're careful we could try... If Millie gives us another potion.. She wouldn't if... We'd both be here for them. Right?" Surely, Millie wouldn't let them have another chance at being parents if Star wouldn't make it through the process.
