Nightmare/Daydream: 3, 5, 4, 6, 2, 1 Name: TBD Entry: (( I'm going to refer to the character as Dream and use gender neutral pronouns for this entry. ))
Dream had hoped to enter the classroom without much fuss, but before they could even find a seat the teacher snagged them, taking their hand and leading them to the front of the class. Dream kept their eyes on the floor, feeling all the curious stares.
"Everyone," Dream heard above their head. "You have a new classmate today." Dream felt the teacher squeeze their hand before letting go. "Would you like to introduce yourself, dear?"
Dream gripped the edges of their sweater. They'd never seen so many new people before, and it was a little overwhelming at the moment. They shyly peeked up from under their bangs. "H-Hi," they said softly. Striving for more volume, they continued. "My name is Dream. Um, I like games and listening to stories." Dream's grip on their sweater tightened a little, and they had to drop their gaze. Thankfully this seemed to be enough for the teacher.
"Thank you Dream. You can pick a seat, and we'll begin class."
Relieved, Dream stumbled to the nearest empty seat they could find. They were determined not to make eye contact still, sure the other freshlings thought they were strange. A gentle tap on their desk caused them to look up in surprise. The freshling sitting next to Dream made eye contact, and smiled. "I like stories too," they confided in a hushed whisper. "We should be friends!" After that the freshling turned their attention back to the teacher, lest they get in trouble for talking, but Dream felt a blush of pleasure cross their face. Suddenly things didn't seem nearly so scary.
Entry #2
Nightmare/Daydream: 6 Name: Clyde
Entry: Quest Style! Characters Name: Clyde Race: Chimera Zodiac Sign: The Spear Academy House: Arkham Gender: Female
Personality: Courageous – Monsters have nothing on this young chimera, Clyde has no fear of trivial things like that. She throws caution is the wind and wings it; it’s more fun like that anyways! She’s a “face your fears” kind of girl and doesn’t take s**t from anyone. Adventure is her game and every day is filled with it!
Confident – Clyde’s “I can do anything I put my heart into” mentality is one of her more redeeming qualities. She is headstrong and persistent which aids her in success and builds up her confidents as well as self-worth. She knows her limitations and is more than confident in her own abilities. Her confidence is her main ingredient to her courageous nature.
Short-tempered – As knightly as Clyde can be, she can also be quite a brat. Behind her sweet loving smile is an easily angered little girl. You look at her weird, she will be in your space asking what your problem is… When her anger is poked, Clyde is hard to calm and has been moved into a quiet corner till she could behave. Sure, she can play nice with others but they better be willing to play her way or they can go play somewhere else.
Selfish – Sharing is caring is bull poop in Clyde’s book. If she has something, it’s hers and good luck telling her otherwise. She has no problem helping other… IF it doesn’t affect her negatively. The more the situation will affect her in a positive way, the more she will actually try to help out the other. In general, she cares more about herself than anyone else… It’s a dragon eat dragon world out there.
Hobbies: *Sword fighting – Nothing like a good wooden sword fight! *Climbing – Climbing to the top of trees makes me feel like I’m the Queen of the world!
History: Clyde was hatched from the cache crystals and couldn’t care less! All the best heroes in the stories she had read are orphaned! Her favorite caretaker used to read to her all the time and it was her absolute favorite part of her day. Sadly, it’s been a while since she has seen her old caretaker but she does like the other too… even if they can’t tell the stories like her favorite lady. Right now, she has a few good friends that she goes on adventures with… climbing trees and playing make believe! So much fun! It is a bit weird at times because only one of her friends are a chimera like her…. But their wings are too small for them too fly so Clyde is the only one that can. Not that it’s a real issue, it gives her a better advantage!
Rp Response: Clyde burst through the door, excited to introduce herself to her peers. “Hello! I’m Clyde and I am a strong Chimera!” She explained after her teacher gave her the cue. “I was hatched from the big ol’ cache and I am glad to be here!” She added, her wings fluttering a bit. “I like adventures and sword fighting! So if any of you are brave enough to take me on!!!! I accept!” She blurted, putting her hands on her hips and puffing out her chest… in her heroic pose. The teacher sighed, patting Clyde on the head before showing her to her seat and readying the class to start for the day. Clyde grinned at her desk, already doodling her next adventure!
Entry #3
Nightmare/Daydream: 6 Name: Mithril Entry:
The young chimera had been swirling with mixed feelings about the arrival to the Academy. He'd been told of the importance to gaining knowledge and furthering his chances of success in life. Knowledge really was the key to power. While he was still too young to fully grasp the concept, and he wasn't filled in on what school life would entail, there was a sprout of excitement that would wiggle in his stomach on his first day getting there. So many others his own age and older would be there... from different parts of the world, who looked different from himself. All he'd known was other chimera, so this would truly be interesting.
A caretaker naturally guided him to his dorm room, his tail swaying lazily behind him as his eyes slid about observing all around him. From the architecture of the building, to the individuals who would pass by them on their way through the branched corridors. Everything was so new... it was a bit of sensory overload, causing him to zone out from time to time, but snap back into place when the kindly older Nightmare would speak up and point things out to him.
When they did make it to his dorm room, he eyed the place thoroughly, easily able to spot out his own portion of the room. The bed was so neatly made, crisp as if never even disturbed, and the little box and table next to it were barren. There were other freshlings at their own corners of the room, who instantly perked up when the pair had entered. Three were there, in total, who all seemed quite intrigued by the newbie that was being introduced by the caretaker,
"Everyone, this is Mithril. He'll be your new roommate. I hope you'll make him feel welcome." she sweetly announced, bending at her waist to gently lay her hands upon those tiny shoulders.
Tail flicking lightly behind him, the chimera eyed the other youths one more time, before cracking a confident grin, "Hey." his voice was already a little deeper than most his age. "Hope we'll get along." what more was there to say?
They all seemed to react positively to him, cheeks bunching with smiles, and the trio tottering up to get a better look at him as well as introduce themselves too. Smiling more, himself, Mithril started to feel quite comfortable as he felt out the vibes and tunes of his new companions. A few were even digging his wings, which made him smirk all the more and spread them with a great deal of pride. He was still learning how to fly, but he was getting better and better at it each time... just wait until they saw him soaring around! The thought of it was enough to make his tail wag with excitement.
With the roommate introductions out of the way, he was then guided to his first class. He'd already been assigned what he'd be taking, and luckily art class was first up to bat. More than thrilled to be taking said class, he had a little more pep in his step, even surpassing his caretakers steps to try and urge her to go faster... and maybe find the place himself! but he had to keep stopping and waiting for her, tail swaying about ceaselessly. He loved art! Chuckling, the caring older Nightmare escorted the chimera with a light press to his back into a room that was just around the next corner.
Inside the place was more amazing than he'd anticipated! All over the place, from wall to wall, floor to ceiling, were different mediums of art. Instantly his eyes sparkled and his face lit up gazing at the lovely sight, walking right in without problem. The class gave pause, however, the teacher practically beaming when the two interrupted the lesson. With an apologetic smile, the caretaker for the entranced little chimera quickly hurried over to him as he started to rummage in some of the cubby holes that housed art supplies, taking his hand to show him the way to the front of the room. With a soft whisper of 'go ahead, introduce yoursef.'
Mithril finally paid mind to the class itself. Looking along the sea of other freshlings, that same smug grin of his twitched onto his lips, and he repeated his earlier performance, "Hey, I'm Mithril. Nice to meetcha all." cool, calm, and collected. A few replied back with a 'hi' of their own, the teacher encouraging as such with saying a 'welcome Mithril' of their own!
With bothersome introductions out of the way, and watching the other students colouring with water colours, he turned to the teacher, tail twitching restlessly, "Can I paint now too?" Both caretaker and teacher looked to each other with mild surprise, before smiles spread along their faces, nodding in approval of the child's request. Wasting no time, he trotted off to visit the various sides of the room, and find what everyone else was using, before making himself a place with his peers at a table that had a spare spot. Looks like school was going to be pretty awesome!
Entry #4
Nightmare/Daydream: [#4] Name: Charlotte Entry: Charlotte was nervous beyond belief. It was her first day at Academy, and she had to get up in front of her peers and introduce herself. The petite Geist flickered in anticipation, the little luminous spots on her skin glowing faintly. She could feel the energy in the room spike as one of the other new Freshlings did something silly, a burst of laughter painting yellow splotches in the corners of her vision. She shut her eyes quickly, ridding the color from her sight. Her synesthesia never seemed to work with her in times of stress. What would she say? All of the other kids had something to tell about themselves that made them unique, made them likable. She was very short even of a Geist, and was a bit of a late bloomer. Surely she couldn't tell people that she was a synesthete, that would be really awkward! She was too meek to do anything that made her stand out in particular, too. Sure, when she was alone, she could make up funny little tunes and put words to them, but the more Nightmares she was around, the more overwhelmed she got from all of the colors.
As it got closer and closer to her turn, Charlotte felt herself fading bit by bit. 'Oh dear...' she thought to herself worriedly, squeezing her eyes shut tighter, willing herself not to disappear completely. She grasped on to the soothing words of the attendant that had brought her to the academy that morning, remembering her soft reminder to 'just breathe'. The little Freshling brought in a shaky breath, held it for a moment, and expelled it slowly and steadily. By the time she opened her eyes, the teacher was becoming her to the front of the class. Little Lottie tiptoed cautiously up to the front of the class, aware of the many sets of big eyes trained on her. She turned around to face them, taking in another calming breath before speaking.
"H-hello, my name is Charlotte. Some people call me Lottie." Charlotte let her big sleepy eyes drift over the classroom of Freshlings, bits of purple and orange popping up in her periphery. "Umm..." she said softly, fiddling with the end of her sweater as she tried to come up with something nice to say. She thought that if she told everyone that she liked to sing, they would make her sing in front of everyone, which would surely cause her to disappear. The idea made her flicker again, which set off lime green sparks of curiosity from the group. She blinked hard to wipe the colors away. "I like hot chocolate, and soft things, and. . ." the petite Geist grasped around in her mind for one last thing that she could add to her introduction to give her a chance with these new Nightmares and Daydreams. "... and I want to learn more about spells and magical creatures." The smiles that greeted her and the burst of pinks and yellows instantly soothed her worried posture, earning a small, sweet smile from Lottie as she retook her original seat. Maybe she could handle Academy all on her own.
Entry #5
Nightmare/Daydream: #6 Name: Thian Entry: Few would have ever guessed by looking at him now, but there had been a time when no one had thought Thian would live to attend his first Academy class. Born early in the year from an intact and apparently healthy soul stone, there had been no reason for the chimera to have had any trouble, no mutations or stigma to impair him. Still, the child had struggled, developing a cough right out of the crystal that had lasted for months. He hadn't grown at all during that time, at least not physically, but between painful stretches during which he could barely move, he had watched. He had listened.
By the time his lungs cleared and Thian was approved for transfer to Asphodel, he was both fiercely intelligent for his age and monumentally self-absorbed. His caretakers were confident he would shed his tendency toward isolation in time. Friends would help, they said. Thian listened as he always did. He didn't need help. He didn't want any friends.
On the day he was scheduled to leave the nursery, the Nightmare hid deep in the back of a supply closet, delaying his departure until the adults could coax him out. In the end, it was hunger that cut his rebellion short, discomfort gripping his stomach so tightly that he was forced to relent. He felt as though he had been betrayed. He shouldn't have been surprised to find he wasn't even friends with himself.
They took him straight to school after that, his face impassive for the entirety of the journey. Even now, standing in front of a classroom full of unfamiliar children, Thian's emotions were closed off, his heart hollow.
"Go on, then. Tell us your name! Mine's Miss Keetra!" He could only hope that the teacher was faking enthusiasm for his benefit. If the litch really was this perky, school was going to be unbearable.
"Thian," he replied, arms folded and wings tucked close. He might not have been scared or anxious, but that didn't mean he was enjoying his time on display. Normally being singled out made him feel powerful, but not when it wasn't on his own terms. This whole spectacle cast him in a desperate light, giving him attention he hadn't earned. Worse still, it put him at a disadvantage, allowing these other Nightmares to learn his name and stare him down when he still knew nothing about them.
In the idle seconds before Miss Keetra asked him to take a seat, the boy cast a narrow-eyed glare out over the attentive faces of his new... friends, imagining the introductions that were to come. He would be expected to smile and shake hands and share toys, to find idiocy amusing or be bullied as punishment. Thian shook his head softly in response to his thoughts, copper tresses tickling his cheeks as he held back a sneer. He would rather hide under the bed forever than talk to any of them. Except... maybe her.
The other chimera was as old as he was, on the tail end of what was acceptable for a freshling, and she was already staring at him as his gaze found hers, magenta eyes just as narrowed as his. Once she was sure he was looking her way, she smirked, flashing a rather unladylike gesture at him before directing her attention toward the tome resting on the desk in front of her as if she hadn't done anything at all. Thian wavered, curiosity tickling the back of his mind.
He was sure he could find things to say to that one.

Aaaand part two!
Entry #6
Nightmare/Daydream: #2 Name: Opal Entry:
Opal was not only new to the Academy, but she was new to Below as well. Her entire family had made the move, her father had plans to open his own restaurant. She knew that in many ways this sort of made him a strange Goblin, he seriously wanted to be famous for his unique brand of hot sauce in Below. She didn't really understand what possessed her father to do this. Probably some sort of desire to brake the mold of his race. The end result was that they now lived in this strange world of constantly twilight.
It was hard to adjust to at first, when was she supposed to be awake? When was she supposed to be asleep? She came to notice the subtle difference between night and day however. It took her eyes some time to adjust, but now she was able to see like any other (well, some probably say better than others naturally) Nightmare. Her parents were in the process of working on her father's shop, they wanted it open as soon as possible. But there were other things to consider when moving shop to such a radically different place. So it would take some time.
At least they got their daughter enrolled in school! And so, today was to be her first attending the Academy. She had already decided on a House, Arkham, and was prepared for what might be happening as she walked into a class (mostly) filled with Nightmares. A caretaker lead her down the halls, classes were just about to start for the day! And, as she entered the class room she was first introduced to the teacher. She couldn't help but be a little shy at first, but she at least managed a little wave as the caretaker told them her name. She stayed up front with them until it was time for class to begin.
"Students, we have a new student joining us today! Her name is Opal, please help me welcome her to the class." There was a chorus of hello's and cheers and lots of clapping. Their enthusiasm did help her to perk up a bit. Her waved to them quickly and then folded her hands in front of her again. "No Opal, why don't you tell us a little about yourself?" Oh no, she hadn't been expecting that!
She cleared her throat and tried to stand up as tall as she could, which wasn't very impressive she'll admit. "My name is Opal!" Oh wait, hadn't that been said already? A little bit of panic set in and her tail twitched nervously behind her. Her thoughts returned to her father and how boldly he had moved to Below and she calmed down enough to at least get some more out. "I came to Below because my father wants to open a restaurant! And it is my dream to one day create even better hot sauce than his!" She had stars in her eyes talking about her father and, while some students looked a little confused, others cheered. She took a little bow and then was told she could choose from any of the empty seats. She nodded and shyly made her way past her new classmates to find a seat. Well, that was a good start at least.
Entry #7
Nightmare/Daydream: 5 Name: Kelvin
Entry: Quest Style! Characters Name: Kelvin Race: Demon Zodiac Sign: The Staff – The scholar Academy House: Eldritch Gender: Male
Personality: Studious – Kelvin is one of the few nightmares that actually really enjoys school. He finds the fun in learning about any subject no matter how difficult it may be for him. This does not mean that he won’t get a little frustrated that he isn’t quite grasping the material because he will. However, his frustration and stubbornness to not give up will drive him to study till he has the material down perfectly. Homework to him isn’t tedious or boring, it is just another way to help him get the material down. In addition to his enjoyment of studying, Kelvin also is pretty good at paying attention to the fine details. In his mind, a well-rounded understanding of knowledge makes you a better nightmare… Knowledge is power.
Curious – There is nothing more interesting to Kelvin then figuring out how things tick. His curiosity on how the world works drives him to learn more. Especially if his curiosity is peaked by another nightmare; how they think, react and behave. His interest is also peaked when witnessing how each nightmare fits into society and how it is run. Other than his usual interest, Kelvin has a nature drive to want to learn more about the world around him. There are so many beautiful things in the world and he wants to know all about it.
Perfectionist – If it’s not perfect, it won’t do! Kelvin enjoys perfection almost as much as he loves to learn. When he has a vision of what something looks like, he won’t accept anything else until it has achieved the vision. This could be as simple as him not liking his handwriting in a letter so he writes the entire letter or something as drastic as redoing an entire project because he wasn’t quite satisfied with the outcome of it.
Isolated – Kelvin isn’t really one to enjoy large groups of people; it’s uncomfortable for him. This doesn’t mean he can’t handle it but it does make him feel on edge and a bit nervous. Perhaps Kelvin Is a bit self-conscious but he truly believes that no one shares their joy in the same interests. His preference is to be alone, especially if he is studying or reading but even with his preference, part of him wishes to have more friends who understand him.
Likes: *Books *Libraries *School *Tea *Cookies
Dislikes: *Sports *Spicy food *Bullies *Chocolate
Hobbies: *Reading *Creative Writing
History: When Kelvin hatched from his stone, he lived with a triad of demons. He doesn’t remember any of this because not short after becoming more child-like, his triad parents broke up and he was sent to the academy. He doesn’t really mind the academy, in fact, he loves living there. He loves his caretakers and he absolutely loves that he gets to go to school every day! He loves the house he is a part of and it’d because of them that he discovered how much he loves psychology and sociology. His goal is to graduate university with majors in psychology and sociology.
Rp Response:
Kelvin stood in front of his class, rubbing his neck nervously as he looked to all the nightmares in his class. He took a deep breath before standing as tall as he could, "Hello... M-my name is Kelvin.." He started, his voice a little shaky. He took another breath, "I'm a demon.. a uh.. boy demon. For as long as I remember, I've lived here at the academy and I love it here." He said with a small smile. "It's nice to meet you all.. " He added before moving to take his seat, trying to shake off his nervousness.
Entry #8
Nightmare/Daydream: 6 Name: D'trio Blóid Entry:(I am going to write him into a clan because I think the personality would fit better. I'll leave it unnamed until I see if that's okay. This is my first attempt at this so I hope I didn't break the Meta. )
D'trio was born the first male in a long line of females. His mothers were quite surprised when they received their bundle of "joy". Of course D'trio was no joy, in fact his earliest years he was a complete nightmare. This was only fueled and strengthened by him being completely spoiled. In the eyes of his mother and many of his clansmen Rio, as he would be called, could do no wrong. He was a stubborn and pig headed child who would often pick fights for pure joy. He was always quite a bully, he just thought that it would get him the attention that he so rightfully deserved. Rio had no friends really, and he liked it that way.
Rio had no real exposure to life outside of the mountains and for that reason is really closed minded. He tends to dislike males, and most other races, really he tends to dislike most anyone. Inside this thick and super coarse exterior is a true softy. He was always soft on the girls, even if they did happen to be another race. In his mind women were a thing to be protected, not that he'd ever admit it. He is loyal to a fault and quick to fight someone if his clan is talked about in a negative way. He determines anyone who is part of his clan or is related to his clan in anyway as family and therefore holds a special place in his heart.
Entry #9
Nightmare/Daydream: #1 Name: Nissa Entry:
First day. First class. First teacher. First student. Second student. Third student. Forth student...
The teacher was going down the list of names on her paper, pausing after each to give the students a moment to introduce themselves. Some simply murmured quiet greetings while others said nothing at all. For the most part, the majority of the students in the class seemed rather content to keep to themselves--a surprising trait for a group of children so young.
Like a bird suddenly being released from its cage, the named Fey practically flew from her seat, her small wings giving a flutter as she hopped up to stand atop her chair, a grin breaking out over her lips. The child was quite the sight, what with her somewhat dirt-caked chartreuse skin and her noticeably unruly pink mop of hair, mixed with her equally bright and peculiar ensemble.
"Hi everyone!"
She began with an almost overexcited wave, her wings giving another flutter as she spun around, making sure to meet every last person with a wide smile and a wave. "I'm Nissa, but you all can call me... uh... Nissa!" A soft fit of giggles followed her words as she hopped down from her chair--much to her teacher's relief--turning around to grab the small knitted bag from beside her chair. From inside the satchel she pulled a smaller--but still somewhat sizable pouch, which she opened as she began to talk, slowly making her way to the front of the room, where the first of four tables--and by extension, the first group of children sat.
"I'm not from here like most'a you guys," the girl began to explain as she reached her chubby little hand into the bag, pulling out a small, flower-shaped candy from inside, placing it down in front of one of her classmates, before moving on to repeat the gesture to the next person, and the next after that. "I'mma Fey! I'm from Above! It's kinda dark down here compared to where I'm from, but that's okay. I had to leave a lot of my friends at my old school, but that's okay too, because now, I can be friends with all of you!" Another giggle slipped from the girl's lips as she made it to the second table, passing out the small candies to each student.
"I wasn't sure if there was going to be any candy in Below, so before I left home, I decided to hide a whole lotta it in my bags so I wouldn't run out. Then I found out that there is candy down here, and it's really good! But these are my favorite candies, and since you guys will all be my new friends, I wanted to share it with you!"
By the time she made it to the last student, there was a wide grin on her somewhat messy face. Her gaze turned quickly towards her teacher, who she quickly fluttered over towards, offering the Nightmare the small bag with the remaining candies, which the teacher accepted with a confused smile before watching as the young Fey quickly darted back to her seat, hopping right back up on the chair to resume her 'introduction'.
"I'm really really really really looking forward to getting to know all of you!" Nissa said with a giggle, before seeming to quickly relax a moment later as her hands clasped together in front of her lap. She gave a quick, cute bow moments later, before lowering herself back down into her seat.
"Thank you!" She added, not seeming to mind some of the confused looks she got from some of the Nightmares--as well as some of her fellow Daydreams--in the room.
Entry #10
Nightmare/Daydream: #5 Name: Eli Entry: The small demon sat at his desk, his arms crossed and wrapped around a small feline-like plush and his head faced downwards, cuddling the soft toy. He could hear noise and rustling about; the sounds of his other classmates talking and giggling. He dug his clawed fingers into his elbows nervously. Eli felt awkward and out of place - he always saw himself as gawky and strange. Upon arrival, he became aware how everyone seemed to find at least one to latch onto but... well here he was, by himself, as always. It was causing him to become more and more upset - he could feel small tears well up in his eyes and he sniffled loudily, drawing the attention of some classmates.
"How about you, Eli?"
He slowly raised his head so that his pink eyes were just visible. Standing next to him were two classmates, both with a look of concern on their faces. While they were trying their best to extend a hand of friendship, the small demon perceived it as being pitied - that he was so inept at making friends that they pushed a pitable attempt at being friendly. They're probably thinking 'just give it a minute and we can leave him alone.' Might as well give them some sort of response to satisfy them, he thought. Clearing his throat, he mumbled a 'huh? what'd you say...' to his classmates.
"Aren't you excited to be here, Eli?" the classmate squeaked. Not even waiting for a response, they turned to the other classmate and jabbered on, "I can't wait to see what house I'll be in! What do you think..."
He lowered his head once more. There was no excitement for the young demon. No, rather, he was dreading it. He didn't want to be sent to this boarding school. He missed his mother and father. Especially his mother. His father had always been busy so he did not have many memories, but his mother... He closed his eyes, picturing her fondily. In the past couple years, she had fallen terribly ill and was forced to remain in bed. While young Eli could not understand the source of her sickness, he enjoyed being able to sit at her side and hold her hand, or play small games with her. His mother was unfortunately the only being he ever felt connected to - the only one he was able to talk to.
And when she told him it was time for his schooling and that he would be sent away to the very school she had gone to years prior, he had bickered about it until the day he left. He didn't want to leave her side - who would watch over her? The only thing that had helped ease him was his small plush-friend. Right before he left his poor mother, holding onto her vigorously, she scruffed his hair and smiled faintly, telling him she had a gift for him. She pulled out the small plush and placed it in his hands. It was a rusty red with cream blotches, just like his mother.
"I understand you don't wanna go and you have a hard time making friends Eli, but try to for me, okay?" she said softly. She slowly lifted her hand and lightly placed a claw against where his heart was. "Because I'll be with you. Right here." The imp felt tears well up in his eyes once more, growing more and more upset as he thought about his mother. Maybe he could find a way to cure her. Maybe if he studied enough...

Entry #11
Nightmare/Daydream: #3 Name: Asrahs Entry: Everything was all set. She had her bag that had all her supplies and even extra slave that momma had sent with her when she came to academy. Ashras was ready for the school year to start and wondered what she was going to be learning about. Nodding her head in a little bow that almost unbalanced her because of her bag Ashras introduced herself. “Good morn.. ah..” Righting herself she tried again. “Good morning everyone. I’m Ashras.”
Entry #12
Nightmare/Daydream: 2 Name: Florian Entry:
“Would you come up and introduce yourself Florian?” Florian’s head shot up in a panic as the teacher spoke his name, followed by him slinking back further into his seat. He wanted to simply ignore the teacher’s request, but as he wasn’t the type to disrespect authority though, he obediently walked to the front of the classroom. He could feel all of the other student’s eyes on him, giving him an itching sensation from how nervous he was. During his short life up in the world Above, he was rarely granted such attention, making this whole introduction in this school of Below hard to stomach.
“Uhh..”, was all Florian could muster at first. With one of his clawed hands playing with his long hair, he partially covered a side of his face, like a makeshift barrier between him and his classmates. “Hi...I’m Florian”, he finally spoke, hesitating a moment as he thought ’Duh, they already know that, teacher already mentioned my name’
He struggled to consider what to say next. Was anyone really interested in what he had to say? As he took a quick glance out to the other students, he could see some gazes that seemed to have a sincere sense of curiosity to what he would say. Suddenly, He remembered that just as Below was so new and unknown to him, So too was he unknown to these fellow young peers of Below. He could very well be the first of his kind they’ve seen… And suddenly the pressure of representing all of goblin-kind made him feel even more nervous, until he remembered the most important goblin that he knew.
“Daddy wanted to start a new life, so we came here”, Florian finally said. He flashed to the thought of his dad when Florian was brought to work with him, how withdrawn and soft-spoken he was while working among other daydreams. He supposed that it helped prevent friction between his father and the more uppity daydreams that wandered into the tailor shop. When Florian asked his father why he was so different at work from his more jovial lively self at home, he simply replied,“It’s better this way”. Florian supposed this demeanor was rubbing off on him, being surrounded by such a varied group of people, but was that really the first impression he wanted to give everyone here?
“I’m still just getting used to the dark, but it’s nice here.” he continued, putting his hands down to his sides as he felt relaxed enough to stop playing with his hair.
“I’m not really used to going to school. My dad usually teaches me stuff. My dad’s taught me how to sew a bit, so I kinda like doing that”, Florian smiled, thinking about all of the things that he’d made with the scraps of fabric that his father’s employer let him use. And thanks to his father’s patience and willingness to teach him.
“I guess I like making things in general. I hope I can make friends with you all!”, Florian shyly waved to the class as he concluded his introduction. He quickly walked back to his seat, too impatient to get the teacher’s okay to sit down. He could feel his legs shaking beneath his desk, which thankfully wasn’t as audible. He hoped he made an okay first impression.
The teacher, initially surprised by his rushed exit, looked to Florian and smiled“Well it’s nice to meet you Florian!” Then she proceeded to clap, followed by the rest of the class. Florian couldn’t help but shyly sink into his chair again, though he did seem relieved by the positive response. Maybe he’ll find some way to fit in after all.

Nightmare/Daydream: 6 Name: Kit Entry: "Aww Man" Kit Uttered at the ground, scuffing at the floor in the doorway with his toe, the dust flowed upwards in a little cloud making his nose twitch and trying to supress a sneeze he jerked forward into the classroom.
He got his footing quickly and straightening up he propelled himself fowards into a seat, he twirled his claw around a lock of his hair, a bad habit he was trying to get himself out of, and was called to the front of the class;
"My Name is Kit, I think the best way to describe me is probably..." He fought for the right way to put it "Loyal" He listed the first point off on his index claw "If you're an important part of my life, and You're here to stay, then I'll never stray" He smiled inwardly at his little rhyme, "Strong" Listed on his second claw "Both in Mind and Body, I have a thrist for seeking out challenges, whether it be competition or getting the confidence to tell you about myself in front of the class!" this earned him a few titters, and a reassuring nod from his teacher, "And Last... Hmm...Passionate?" He counted the third claw then let his hand fall to his side "I really enjoy board games, and I'm allways looking for others willing to play them with me! Ram-bo is getting pretty sick of them" He gestured towards the sheep plushie perched on his desk, this once again made the class titter and the teacher smile "But I mean that's possibly one of the only times I like to sit still, I really like to be outside, I'm really great at Orienteering, hiking, foraging and Kite flying!" He gets a little louder and more excited with each new thing he lists, then glancing at the teacher stands still again "Umm... People in the past have said I can be a little... Boastful, I don't really think it's boasting, I'm just really good at things! I have a sort of... need, to get recognition, and reassurance, I like to be told when I'm doing something right. And again I don't think I am, but Overbearing is a word I've heard used about me, Full on? Ecessive? Bossy? cocky? Assertive..." Fully prepared to carry on listing he looked towards his teacher once more, trying to read the expression on her face, "Uh...yeah... that's me."
With that he sat at his desk once more and continued to twirl the lock of hair around his finger.

Nightmare/Daydream: 4 Name: Zima Entry: Zima fidgeted as he waited to get called to the head of the class. What was he going to say? What if people laughed at him? He jumped as the teacher called him to the front of the class. Trembling, the Geist headed to the front of the class, cursing this introduction tradition the entire way. “H-hi, my name i-is Zima.” He stopped, looked at the teacher to see if he was done and got a continue motion. Drat. “Mmm... I'm a Geist, and I was born on the West Continent, not from the cache. My family moved here to expand their businesses, so they sent me here to learn.” Zima's tendrils flared briefly from nerves. There were lots of rumors told on the Continent, rumors on how much the people here hated Geists for their natural tendencies to steal. Zima waited for the whispers or maybe even and all out assault of spitballs.
He got nothing, just patient stares from the other students. Did...did they not care that he had roots with the original Geists? The one's who's culture wasn't diluted by being around other races twenty-four seven? Didn't they think he'd rob them blind? Zima blinked in surprise at the non-reaction he'd gotten. Looks like the rumors were just that. Rumors. A small cough from the teacher caught his attention, and he squeaked when he realized he had been silent too long and hadn't finished his introduction. “Ah, ah...I like maps. I mean, I like studying maps, I want to be an explorer one day, maybe expand places where people can live and rediscover lost history.” Zima smiled, finally loosening up a little bit. “I really want to go to ancient ruins and find out what made them ruins, why they were lost, if, maybe, we can get them back. It'll be so cool.”
“As for my dislikes, that's easy. I really, really dislike talking in front of groups!” He said, smirking at his cleverness. Before the teacher could make him say anything else, the Geist skittered back to his desk and plopped his butt down. There was no way he was going back up there any time soon, so he'd let the other two kids do their introductions. Poor suckers. Zima was bored now that his turn was over, though. All the talk about maps and history made him want to get out of class and grab his atlas at home. Unfortunately, that didn't seem very likely and, since he couldn't get his hands on a map currently, he decided to make one. Zima pulled out a piece of paper and drew a squiggly shape, putting a big X in one spot. The sound of the other kids introducing themselves continued, but Zima had lost himself in his own little world.

Nightmare/Daydream: 5 Name: Davinea Entry:
Davinea is excited to meet her new classmates and find others like her who share her passion for the same in academics as she. Most whom know her find her to be slightly aloof or odd but she just brushes it off and is who she is. She does not hide her true nature, nor does she take any negative comments about her zest for certain things to heart. She knows who she is and to her that is all that matters.
Although excited she is also nervous, she knows what it feels like to have to explain her life and her passions to new people as she has done it before and it did not turn out so well. She is determined to make new friends, do excellent in her studies and fulfill her dreams.
Good Morning
I am Davinea, I am new to this academy and hope my time here will be filled with learning, making memories and friends. I can be shy, come across as for the lack of a better word nerdy but I am very friendly, I do not judge a book by it's cover. So please do not do the same to me. If you want to know me, ask me questions I will answer unless it is to personal then I will politely decline unless I feel very comfortable with you.
I look forward to my classes, especially the electives. I will admit I have a fascianation with the Magical Creatures Lore and this I hope will become my main area of study. To some this is just something you can learn about in a elective class but to me it is my passion. I devour any information on this subject and clamour for more. I hope one day to become a expert on this subject but I have much to learn before that time will come to pass. With my time here I am hoping to become a member of the Eldritch House, for this house is known for their knowledge and areas of study.
I hope many of you will come to call me a friend.

Entry #16
Nightmare/Daydream: 5 Name: Corelle Entry:
Corelle was very excited to meet their new classmates, but wasn't quite sure what to say when the time came. Sure, they could start at the very beginning and work forward, but that might bore people. It had to be a concise speech, something with just the right amount of information and held everyone's interest. They kicked their feet about as they thought, before hopping up from their bed and to their desk to grab some paper. Maybe writing down something down would help them decide?
"Hello, my name's Corelle, and I'm seven years old. It's really nice to meet you!"
Well, the was a good start, but what else could they say besides that? Their lips twisted as the continued.
"I have a big family and most of my siblings have gone to the Academy before. My parents send us here because we live close by and it's affordable, or that's what they say. Some of my siblings are really smart. Like, my eldest sister graduated and became a doctor and her twin studies plants for medicine! ...But I don't want to be like that when I grow up. I want to play sports when I'm older, espescially soccer! It's my favorite sport in all of Below!"
Again, they paused, their eyes giving the paper a once over. It felt like it needed more. Maybe they should talk about other hobbies? Their favorite colors? All of those sounded so boring, though! This was harder than they thought!
"I like the colors red, orange, and yellow, and my favorite food is spicy chicken nuggets, but not with ketchup! Ketchup is too sweet, so I use mustard! It's really good once you try it!"
They laughed as they ended the sentence. Yeah, this was good! Their classmates would know their favorite game, colors, and foods, and even knew a little bit about their family! They hopped up from their chair and stuffed it in their bag for tomorrow morning. Hopefully their class liked them as much as they hoped they would!
Entry #17
Nightmare/Daydream: 3 Name: Viveka Entry:
Viveka was sure that his new roommate wasn't going to like him, and he hadn't even met them yet. The caretakers had assured him that everything would be fine and that their new roommate was very nice, even friendly, but nothing could change his mind. They wouldn't like him. He wasn't liked by the kids back at home, why would things be different here? He was sure that they would tease him, ignore him, even play nasty pranks on him, it's just what other people did! There was no way in Below that his new roommate would like him, and that was that.
"This is your dorm, Viveka." The caretakers said. "Your roommate is already waiting inside! Why not introduce yourself?"
Viveka gaze froze hopelessly upon the door. He could think of plenty of reasons why he shouldn't introduce himself. Laughing, ridicule, pointing, he could feel his chest tightening just thinking about it! But, despite his fears, the door was opened and he was nudged inside. Great, the adults left him with no chance of escape and nowhere to hide! He shivered away from the door and looked to the window, silently praying that someone would look in and take pity upon him. Then, a tap on his shoulder sent him flailing toward the wall.
"Uhhh... Hi?" Said the pink haired boy behind him, their head tilted to the side. "Sorry to bug you, but are you Viveka?"
Stricken with fear, Viveka could only nod in return to the question, and became confused when boy smiled at him. W-why were they so happy? This wasn't right! He pinned himself further against the wall when the boy extended his hand to shake, but couldn't find it within themselves to refuse. Why did meeting people have to be so weird?
"I'm Marian, your roommate!" The boy continued, laughing. "... You can come in, you know. This is just the front door, it's pretty boring over here!"
Viveka glanced around and nodded half-heartedly. Yes, it was probably boring, but he was fine there! ... Okay, maybe not totally fine, but he was nervous! He didn't know Marian, he didn't know anything about this Academy, he didn't even know why he was sent here in the first place! He turned his eyes away from Marian, hoping the other would mimic him and walk away, only to squeak as he was tugged away from the door and lead into a sitting area. W-what did he think he was doing? He couldn't just grab people like that! The Nixie pouted, but refrained from protesting as Marian released his hand and waved his arms about.
"This is where we sit and talk and stuff!" Marian exclaimed, pointing to all the couches and things in the room. "My daddy helped move most of the stuff around so you could put your things somewhere... Where are your boxes?"
"B-boxes?" Viveka asked, startled by the odd question. "... I don't have any of those because... My mother sent me here without my stuff."
"Why would she send you here without your stuff?" Marian asked, his eyes growing wide.
Viveka paused, his gaze immediately darting to the ground. He didn't know, actually, but then again, he didn't know a lot of things about his mother. Why she was always away so much. Why she ignored him when she was home. Why she forgot to make him food or buy him clothes. He just didn't know...
And it really hurt.
"I-I-I don't know why!" He exclaimed, his eyes wet with tears. "S-sometimes she forgets to do stuff and then I have to ask people for help and they make fun of me! That's just how she's always been!"
He wiped at his eyes, but couldn't keep himself from flopping to the ground and crying. Marian probably thought he was such a baby! They were going to say something mean and yell at him, he just knew it! He curled further and further into a ball, until something soft was draped around him. He opened his eyes, reached up for the pink striped blanket, and looked to Marian as they sat beside him. What were they doing? This wasn't how it was supposed to work! They were supposed to be mad! They were supposed to scream, tell him off, kick dirt in his face! Why were they being so nice?
"I'm sorry your mommy forgot to send your stuff, Viveka." Marian consoled, patting Viveka's shoulder. "If you want, you can borrow some of my stuff and I can ask my daddy to bring more for you when he visits? We don't live far away so I'm sure he won't mind."
Viveka stared, still taken aback by Marian's kindness, but eventually nodded.
"I-if you're sure he wouldn't mind..." He replied, sniffling. "Then I guess it's okay."
"It'll be fine, you'll see!" Marian agreed, patting Viveka's side. "Wanna see my room? We could play games until it's time for lunch."
Viveka nodded and allowed himself to be tugged into Marian's room. He wasn't entirely sure if he liked playing the same games that Marian did, or if he liked how glaringly pink his room was, but he did know one thing for certain -
He wasn't going to be lonely anymore.
Entry #18
Nightmare/Daydream: 2 Name: Hua Entry: Hua stood in front of everyone and tugged at the bottom of their sweater. It was a nervous habit they had yet to break but they never did well in front of crowds. In fact they hated public speaking with a passion, what if they slipped up and got in trouble. Hua doubted that they were all here to hear her sob story, not that she would tell it to them in the first place. She didn’t want anyone to give her any of those strange pity looks. She hated those. She just wanted to restart life again and help her family back home.
Around the time that she had been born her family had been rather well off, and managing a small company. She had recalled she was so proud of her dad, but then considering she was only ten her younger memories could have just been seen through the rosy colored eyes of a very small child. Then one day everything changed. Apparently one of the Elven families had gotten jealous and sabotaged her dad’s company. In a few short months Hua’s family had been forced to declare bankruptcy. Most of Hua’s plushies and clothes and toys had been sold just to keep a meal on the table. With no other choice Hua’s father had been forced to swallow his pride and work for the Elf that had caused their current state of life as a live in servant. Considering the elven family had a young girl around Hua’s age, Hua was pushed forward to be their personal play thing.
Hua hated that girl with a passion. She was stuck up, cruel and always got Hua in trouble. She constantly raided food she wasn’t supposed to and broke her family’s possessions and then blamed it all on Hua. Hua had wanted to lash out so many times but Mimi’s stupid parents always threatened her dad.
Then things changed. Above finalized travel with below and people were sent down to check out the schools and life in below. Hua saw her opportunity to get away and maybe one day make a name for herself to help her parents. She “agreed” to go down and enroll to check it out. Make sure that it was safe for Mimi. By then hopefully she would have friends and people to protect her from that stuck up brat. However she could tell already the people in below wouldn’t understand if she just told them everything at the moment and her father always said first impressions where important. Playing with the bottom of her sweater again Hua took a deep breath and looked at class. “Hello my name is Hua, I’m here to see how life is in below, and maybe report back to convince more people to come down to your school.” Oh… boy… could she have a redo?
