"Oh, it's been wonderful so far! Everyone that I've met from there has been really friendly and helpful, which is nice because I have had more questions than probably necessary," she said with a laugh. "The actual process of getting the soul was a bit more, um. Interesting than I expected, though that was probably just me..." Granted, she hadn't really talked to anyone else about how they captured their soul, but she hoped for their sake that it was a bit less exciting for them.

"Hmm, mostly it looked like..." her nose wrinkled as she frowned, trying to think of a good way to phrase it that didn't make it sound lame. "Like there were things following me around, but I could only see them out of the corner of my eye. It started happening even when I didn't have the essence with me after a while, too. I think it was giving me weird dreams, too, but that might've just been me."

"What was involved?" Lorenzo asked, forgetting that she was on the clock and leaning in curiously. "I know bits and pieces of what mine will entail, but I'm still arranging things. It should be fairly straightforward if it all goes according to plan for me." Not that it was his decision to make. But the rusalka had contacted his mother's law office for a solution, and this was the solution they had, so he couldn't see too many problems arising along the way.

His brow furrowed. "Was it revealing real things to you or causing illusions?" he wondered. "Normally it would be the former, but if the hag stone is cursed..." Either way, not a terribly pleasant experience. "The other guardian I've met seemed to have had some difficulty with their essence as well. I suppose I'm lucky in that respect." His essence was unnerving, but it was, after all, just water. Had he been less lucky he supposed he would have preferred something like Nell's to Ian's. As a necromancer, unnerving experiences were all part of the job, but an essence that sapped his energy would be a serious hindrance.

[color-violetred]"The actual capture wasn't that hard, the essence just started being a bit more,ah, active right before it happened," which was mostly the reason why she ended up in the situation that she did, and with the soul that she captured, but still. "I actually didn't realize I had captured a soul until after the fact, so it happened pretty quickly when it did."

She couldn't help but shudder at the thought of what she had seen (and heard) being real. "I really hope it was just illusions, that would be really, um. Creepy if they were real, to say the least." Thought it was a bit of a relief to hear that she wasn't the only one with a problematic essence. Hopefully neither of their raevans turned out to be as difficult as their essence was.

"It kind of sounds like you know what you're going to look for for a soul already?" She asked, glad to change the subject slightly for the moment. Unfortunately for her, not many unnerving things tended to happen as a personal trainer.

"Oh! Well, I actually didn't apply to Lab 305 for myself," he admitted. "I have a client who's trapped in a bad situation and needs to be removed from it somehow. And circumstances mean that rebirthing her on Gaia is probably her best option." He looked uncomfortable for a moment. "Anyway, it's been difficult to get in contact with her to confirm because she's the kind of undead person who is locationally undead, so most of the time, except maybe one week a year, she's trapped in a marsh."

"In Russia."

He didn't feel good about just going to Russia with a briefcase and a bad idea, but at this point, his mother's legal firm had already overextended their budget for charity cases on her and come up with nothing. His solution was a last ditch stab at trying to save the rusalka from her predicament.

"The community that she lives near wants her out at any rate, so they're planning to try to fill in and develop the marsh and push her out over the course of the next year. Of course, it's terrible for wildlife too, but they're more afraid of her than they're worried for the natural environment." He clicked his tongue. "If there was more awareness about undead rights on Earth, it'd be easier for us to deal with them, but you know, outside of Gaia, people can be terribly backwards about this kind of thing."

"Oh," was all she said after Lorenzo had finished explaining his predicament. A concerned frown replaced her professionally cheerful expression, clearly disturbed in some way about what he had said."Poor thing. At least she's getting some kind of help, though." Even if it was a rather unconventional form of help, it was better than what she would imagine the alternative would be.

"But for what it's worth, I think you've found a good solution to the problem, and if you need any help with anything feel free to ask!" Not that she would be much help while he was in Russia, or dealing with the undead for that matter, but the act of offering was still worth something in her eyes. "My contact info should be on the sheet that the Lab gave you so you don't have to call here to get me."

Lorenzo smiled gratefully. "I will, thank you. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions." He hefted his cloak and added, "Even if we can't trick a bunch of necromancers into exercising, this necromancer is at least pleased to have made your acquaintance. Thanks for talking, Ms. Wilson. I'll see you again soon."

Although he was as little looking forward to trying exercise as the people he was planning the activity for were. He pulled a small, private grimace at the thought of aerobics, and considered looking into whether or not there was some sort of athletic cloak he could purchase.

"If nothing else we can get them to run a bit as they try and get away from me," she said with a conspiratorial wink. She walked Lorenzo to the door, waving a goodbye rather than offering to shake his hand again (she was beginning to get a sense of how necromancers were, she thought). Though as she watched him walk away from the building, she was struck with a feeling that she was about to be very much in over her head.

If nothing else this was certainly going to be the most interesting bit of work she had ever done in her life.
