Zephyr nodded. The book sounded interesting enough, and if he didn't manage to lose it like he usually did, he'd probably return it to Decran when he was done with it. He'd need to know where Decran's dorm was, though. Maybe next time they'd meet up there? The Fallen pursed his lips at the thought, before arching a brow.
"Oh, uh, it's upstairs." He said, pointing toward the stairs and waving Decran along. "Just follow me, my roommate will probably be there to let us in."
He meandered up the stairs and down the hall, turning his head every once and a while to make sure Decran was following, and pointed toward a door that had loud music playing behind it. Was Beta still dancing? Seriously? Zephyr huffed.
"I could knock, but he probably wouldn't hear me." He muttered, rolling his eyes.

Decran raised an eyebrow at the sound of the music coming from Zephyr’s bedroom. The beat was catchy but the volume was something Decran definitely did not appreciate. It made him extremely glad that he didn’t have to deal with sharing a dorm with a roommate. It was something that he often took for granted and it was moments like this that reminded him of how lucky he was to have his own private space (and here had just been complaining to himself about his familiars). Decran shook his head and glanced from the door to Zeph. “Does he always play it that loudly?”

Did he always play his music this loudly? Zephyr couldn't keep himself from making a face. The short answer would be yes, of course he did, but the long answer was something he really didn't have the energy to get into. Beta loved his music and played it until the neighbors came to the door with battering rams, it was like he couldn't recognize when something was too loud or annoying. The Fallen shoved his hands into his pockets and huffed.
"Yeah, but believe it or not, he's lowered it down from last time." He said, his gaze glazing over as he reached for the handle. "Let's just go in and see if he'll notice us. If he's too wrapped up in his dance moves he'll be oblivious, though."
He nudged the door open slowly, as if the music were creating some sort of substantial force against his pushing, and took a breath in.
"YO, BETA! I'm back, and I've got company!" He shouted, pounding his hand against the side wall. "AND TURN THAT DOWN, WE'RE GOING TO GET IN TROUBLE AGAIN!"
To no surprise, the music continued and Beta's room stayed closed. UGH.

Decran raised an eyebrow, watching as Zephyr banged against the wall and yelled at his roommate. He couldn’t help but let a little chuckle escape as he shook his head and closed the main door behind him. “I don’t think he heard you.” As those words left Decran’s mouth, a rather shrill note sounded from the next room over, causing the imp to wince slightly and shake his head again, this time in discomfort. “How on earth do you deal with that all the time?”

“I don’t think he heard you.” No, really? Zephyr had to restrain himself from rolling his eyes. Beta only heard two things. The call of the wild and his favorite song being played hours away in some distant house. It was almost a wonder just how that baphomet kept his hearing at all. Defeated, Zephyr allowed himself to lean against the wall.
"I leave, mostly, or put on my noise cancelling headphones." He said, rolling his shoulders. "But, today I couldn't find them and I was hungry, so I decided to leave. He couldn't hear me yelling at him anyway."
The Fallen gave a stretch and yawned, before looking to Decran again.
"Sooo... You want to hang out here and have your eardrums blown out or go find somewhere else to hang? I doubt Beta's going to be done with his little party of one for the next hour or so." He sighed, glancing to his roommate's door.

Decran eyed the door to Zephyr’s roommate’s room once more and then glanced back towards his friend. “I’d rather find somewhere else to hang.” He chewed on his lip for a moment, a small frown on his face. “I really do need to head back to my dorm, though. My familiars are probably hungry.” He raised an eyebrow and eyed Zeph. “We could hang out there for a little bit. I have more books there that you might like. See if you wanna borrow any of them before this one,” Decran said as he held up the book Zephyr had caught him reading earlier. “What do ya say?”

Zephyr's gaze lingered on Beta's door a moment longer before he finally seemed to come back to the current conversation with Decran. Oh, he had familiars to get back home to? Had he mentioned them before? He couldn't remember, but if he had, it was probably forgotten because he was tired. He shuffled against the wall a bit and sighed again, before mustering a smile.
"Yeah, that sounds good, if you don't mind me coming over." He replied, nodding as he nudged himself off of the wall again. "Getting more books sounds good, too. I need more distractions in my life."
He slipped past Decran and tugged the door open again, before motioning to the hallway.
"Lead the way." He said.

Decran grinned as he watched Zephyr move to open the door. He wasn’t sure what it was about the fallen, but Decran had grown to really like Zephyr in the short time they’d known each other. His tail swished as he moved past Zeph, hitting up against the other absently. “It’s not far. Just a couple of floors up and a not too far into the hallway.” He moved towards where the stairs were and turned to wait for Zeph to follow him. “I do have to warn you, though. Ceri, my fennekit is friendly. Loves others. But my spectrefox, Tepin...is touchy. It takes a bit for him to warm up to others but after he gets to know you, he’s fine. Just no sudden moves towards him, yeah?”

A few floors up and down the hall, he'd make a note of that. Zephyr smiled at the thought and quickly questioned himself. Why was he so oddly happy about knowing how close Decran was to his dorm? Had he really grown that close to this imp? He grasped his wrist nervously and moved to follow Decran up the stairs.
"Ceri and Tepin? Those are interesting names. Any reason you picked those?" He asked, arching a brow. "I've got a Pumpka called Vale and a Fluffbug named Fuzz. They're probably nestled together in my room somewhere, trying to avoid Beta's music. If Beta had turned his music off, I'm sure Vale would've loved to bop into you, it seems to be his way of meeting people."

Decran shrugged and shook his head at Zephyr’s question. “No reason in particular. Just thought of them and liked them.” When they reached Decran’s door, he turned to Zeph and raised an eyebrow. “A fluffbug, hm? I’ve heard they can...stink...if startled.” He wrinkled his nose up slightly and shook his head. “I’ve never actually seen one in person, though. As long as he wouldn’t spray me, I’d love to meet him.” When Decran opened the door to his dorm, he was immediately ‘attacked’ by his fennekit as she jumped up and he caught her. “Hello Ceri,” Decran said as he scritched behind her behind her ears and was rewarded with a rather loud purr.

Zephyr scoffed. Fuzz would never do such a thing, he was a well behaved, adorable ball of fluff and cute. He turned his nose in the air for a moment and shook his head as thought he couldn't believe such a thing before laughing as Ceri seemed to assail Decran with affection. Aw, fennekits were as cute and affectionate as he'd heard, now he absolutely had to go out and get one! He allowed Ceri and Decran a few seconds of petting before leaning over Decran's shoulder.
"Hello, Ceri! You're pretty cute, aren't you?" He said, reaching out to pet her. "Does she mind being pet by strangers, or are all pets equal to her?"

Decran glanced over his shoulder and opened his mouth, about ready to answer Zephyr’s question. He didn’t have time to even get one word out, though, before Ceri was stretching and butting her head up against Zephyr’s hand and climbing up onto Decran’s shoulder. He couldn’t help but let a small laugh escape him as he turned and held Ceri out to Zephyr. “All pets are equal. C’mon, you can settle down with her and I’ll grab us something to drink, yeah?”

Zephyr's eyes drew open wide as Ceri nudged his hand and he couldn't help but dissolve into a flurry of coos and baby talk. Ceri was just a little precious thing, wasn't she? Yes she was, yes she was! He eventually caught himself before he looked like a complete idiot when he was suddenly entrusted with the Fennekit and quickly caught up with Decran.
He... Couldn't remember if he'd ever been to someone else's dorm before. It was kind of new to him, this visiting thing. Beta was always hopping in and out to meet friends over in Arkham, but Zephyr never felt the need to join in and hang out like that. It made him wonder what you did when you visited someone's dorm. There had to be more to it than petting one another's familiars and getting drinks. He pursed his lips.
"Alright, we'll wait..." He paused, slowly turning to look around the dorm to find a place to sit down. "... Uh, where should we sit? Do you have a couch? Maybe chairs?"

Decran nodded to the far corner of his dorm room. “There’s a small couch over there. And a tv, on the wall, right across from it. You’re welcome to flip it on and find something to watch. Or check out the books on the book shelf under the tv.” Decran turned back to his small kitchenette and grabbed a couple of sodas from his small fridge. Decran’s room wasn’t much different, in layout, than Zephyr’s. Except that he only had two rooms. His bedroom was small but large enough for a bed and a dresser. And really, with the living space out here, he didn’t really need much room to crash in. He moved away from the small kitchen area and plopped down on his couch, holding out one of the sodas for Zephyr.

Zephyr turned his head about a few times before his eyes finally met with the couch. Ah, yes, good! Couches were the best, unless they were hard as a rock from too much stuffing. In which case, then they were terrible and not cushy at all. He wandered over to it, holding Ceri like you would a football for a moment, and plopped himself into a comfortable position. Yes, nice and soft, like a couch should be! He was pleased.
"Meh, I'm not really into TV, but if you wanted to watch something I wouldn't mind." He called, turning his attention to the bookshelf underneath the TV. Hm, he really didn't feel like getting onto his hands and knees to check them out, he'd much rather sit here and pet Ceri. Fluffiness always trumps reading!
He only paused in his petting to take the soda he was offered, which he cracked open with a smile. He leaned back to take a sip, took a breath, and took another look around.
"I see you don't have a roommate to fuss with, huh?" He chuckled, glancing to Ceri and then to the TV before turning to Decran. "Everything's so nice and tidy here, not like my dorm. It looks like a tornado in mine sometimes. All of my stuff seems to really like being mixed up with Beta's stuff, too. We can never find anything we want right when we need it."
