Fidi had herself right and ready to fight Zulf, she poised herself ready hissing slightly when instead of accepting her challenge he turned and told their parents he was pulling a stunt like her betraying sister and brother. "You have got to be kidding me..." She slid quickly out of the pit "You backstabbing no good ingrate!" She sprung at the male as he tried to make his getaway from the family. One way or another she wanted that fight and if he was going to some other clan he'd be going with some bruises if she had any say in the matter.

Zulfiqar had barely returned from his second meeting with Twilight when their coming of age, fight for hierarchy was announced. He'd understood it was happening soon, but so soon? Not particularly. The naga had hoped to made his intentions to leave clearly understood before any such thing, to leave before he was made to suffer an unneeded challenge. He'd have no such luck it seems.

He had scarcely made his presence known, his declarations of leaving nearly gone from his lips, when he was directly challenged by his sister. He thought any of them threatening their higher position in the hierarchy was foolish, though perhaps they were too stupid to realize it was a gamble not worth their scales.

They had everything to lose, nothing to gain.

Hissing at Fidi, he glared at her before turning his glaze to his parents, to the clan leaders. Raising himself tall and proudly, he spoke loudly for all to hear.

"I've been asked to join another clan, and I've accepted. I am leaving now." Looking to his sister, he almost rolled his eyes before silently dismissing her challenge. Their affairs were no longer his concern, her words no longer of any strength. Call him a coward if you wished, but this was a matter that now excluded him.

At that, he took his leave from the Angwi and headed towards the Dragnid's edge to rendezvous with Twilight.

Sorry, he's peacing out. Feel free to verbally abuse him all you want though. ^^;

Zulfiqar is now a shameful, weak disgrace to his clan. His family can attack whenever they see him in their territory. He is no longer under protection of a clan so he is vulnerable to other threats as well.

And a friendly reminded, he is Tainted.

And so Priya was left standing there, baffled at her brothers cowardice. Hiding behind her gender to not fight, what a little worm! It made her bristle in anger. And then Zulfiqar...announced he was leaving. The female blinked in surprise at the neon green naga. If anything he seemed the type to challenge their father, but he was leaving instead. And for another clan? "You betrayer!" Priya screeched after him. He was worse than that cowardly low life Takshaka!

Feeling gypped out of a proper victory, Priya slithered out of the pit. At least she had maintained a higher level than Takshaka by winning, and proven to her parents that she was a willing and able fighter. "Ssstupid boyssss." She muttered under her breath. The girls were the only ones who made any sense. And Negendra. When he stepped into the ring she took noticed. She hoped he remembered their little pack to leave. For the moment, she was staying in the clan. Perhaps bring in a new mate. But should the clan grow too large, or her status be knocked down, she would still leave later.

When the challenge had been initially put forth, the Naga Empress had been lounging in the low branches of a tree, overseeing the pit through narrowed eyes. She had a good vantage point and her gaze had passed over each of her children in turn, lingering on some more than others.

From the original brood, they had lost two already...today would show how many more made the cut. Cowardice and weakness had no place in Angwi; all must be purged for the good of the clan. Eagerness could present itself as potential, but was equally as likely to be foolishness.

When the first two challenges were posed by two of her daughters to sons, Nadira restlessly shifted her coils. Though such a move could be valuable later, for now, leading the challenge, it made little sense. The girls had nothing to gain by challenging untried boys, but they could certainly lose ranking if they failed. Why take the risk? Were they so aggressive they failed to see sense? Blind aggression was the foolishness of males; females should know better. If they felt like proving themselves, they should have challenged one another. This challenge was as much strategic as it was physical. She had hoped her daughters would know better.

Clearly this was why she had had so many. To allow for the failures to weed themselves out and hopefully leave only the best to strengthen the clan.

Of course, it seemed one of those challenges would be an easy win. Takshaka...the boy had clearly been dropped on his head too many times as a snakelet...refused to even fight his sister, giving her an automatic win. The Empress could not understand the boy's ignorant refusal to even defend himself properly when faced with a female. Where he ever got the idea, she'd never know. Must be something wrong with him. Well, that would easily sort itself out today, it seemed. He'd definitely remain below his sisters in rank, if he refused to even give them a proper answer to a challenge. Shameful.

Though, at least he'd answered the challenge initially. The second challenge went unanswered as another of her brood proved himself to be a traitor in their midst. Ignoring the pair of boys facing off properly in the pit, Nadira's vision locked on Zulfiqar during his little announcement. To be beaten and cast out of the clan showed that one had tried...but to simply make the decision to leave with no trial or reason...

Cowardice, the same as the two who had deserted the clan in their time of need. They were all dead, as far as she was concerned.

Unable to remain still in her post any longer, the restless energy and irritation building, the Empress stirred, her massive coils shifting and sliding to lower herself from the tree. She moved like lightning upon reaching the ground, darting around the pit to circle around and intercept Zulfiqar's exit. Her tail cracked like a whip in his direction and she would have taken further action if she had not seen Fidi also pursuing with violence in her eyes. Only right she get a taste as retribution for this disrespect.

To Zulfiqar, she hissed viciously, "You disgrace your sister by dismissing her challenge, and you disgrace yourself as a coward, deserting your clan. Be gone with you. We have no room for the weak. You are dead to us from hence forth, like the ones gone before; nothing more than a pest to be driven away on sight."

Though her claws itched to draw blood, she restrained herself...for now. This would be the chance for the traitor's former siblings to take advantage and show initiative. With a sneer, she turned back to the fights, attempting to focus on the challenges within the pit, though the growing aggression and irritation made her ache for an outlet...

Tembikai felt a sense of aggressive pride as his punch connected to his brother's jaw and sent him backward. He couldn't let such an emotion blind him for long; he knew Nagendra would retaliate quickly. And he wasn't disappointed. He saw his brother's fist coming for his face and started to move, but the approach of their mother to the pit distracted him and he ended up moving into the punch instead of away from it. The strike caused his teeth to cut across the inside of his cheek. Scowling at his brother, Tembikai spat blood at Nagendra's coils.

He took a moment to take in what was happening around him. Pah. It seemed like he and Nagendra were the only true males of this clan. Takshaka wouldn't even fight one of their sisters. Idiot. And Zulfiqar was leaving? Good riddance. The clan would be better off without them. Turning his attention back to Nagendra, he let his eyes 'betray' his intent, pulling his fast back to strike with another punch while his tail whipped out to grab his brother's wrist and yank him off-balance.

Seema sighed and flicked her tail to the other side of her perch, finding a higher seat above the ground to be far more comfortable. She watched idly at the show unfolding before her.

There was only a mild interest in the battles below, but seeing as there was really only one male worthy of attacking to better her own standing in the clan, she felt no need or urge to challenge her father. Instead, she continued to watch her family carelessly attacking one another to... "better their standing" as it were...

Nagendra grinned as he landed his punch, the tip of his tail lashed from side to side in aggressive excitement. His focus was pulled off the fight as Nadira entered the pit. Zulfiqar was abandoning them now? After everything that had happened at the temple for another clan? His eyes narrowed in anger, was the coward fleeing to one of the clans that had abandoned them during the battle?

He would have tried to attack Zulf as the other was fleeing if he was not all ready engaged in battle. He returned his focus to the fight at hand just in time to see his brother prepare to throw another punch. Nagendra attempted to doge the punch only to find his brother's tail wrapped around his wrist, it had been a faint and he fell for it. He snarled in rage as the tail pulled him off balance and sent him to the ground.

Throwing all the strength he could muster into it he whipped his tail at Tembikai hoping to slam it into his brother's side.

"Get lucky?!" Anali laughed, flicking the tip of her tail idly as she watched Tutu actually refuse to fight a sister. Not that Priya had anything to gain by challenging an un raked brother but still. "If the remaining males in our clan are anything like that, then we have nothing to worry about sister." she smirked, licking her fangs in a deadly manner.

Her eyes however drifted towards their mother as she made her presence known quite beautifully, her gaze locked on another son. Anali shifted forward, listening closely to her mother's words, eyes narrowing once she realized what was going on. A hiss left her own throat and her hands tightened into fists itching to have a go at Zulfiqar.... but it looked like Mother was going to allow Fidi the honors.

Again not that Anali thought it would do any good challenging an unranked brother but since this brother.....no, lowly piece of scum had just announced his intentions of leaving the clan she could only wish the twit had managed to find himself in a puddle of water if Fidi was the one perusing him...

"If its not half wits its traitors. I stand by my previous statement." she huffed, crossing her arms while lying in wait. If any brother actually did manage to rank she was going to ''ever so kindly'' remind them of their place.

Tembikai smirked as Nagendra went down. What a pretty sight to see. "That's where you belong, brother. In the dirt." He laughed and moved around him, debating his next move when he felt Nagendra's tail slamming into his side. Crying out, he bent over the blow and grabbed his brother's tail to yank it. He wasn't sure it would do much, but hey. It was worth a try.

"Perhaps, but if I'm in the dirt then surely you are the dirt beneath me." Nagendra hissed back. He would make his brother pay for knocking him over. Refusing to stay on the ground for long he picked himself up only to feel the other tying to yank his tail out from under him. Instead of trying to pull his tail out of Tembikai's grip he threw another punch at his brother. He'd make is brother let go by force if he had to.

Call him names all they wanted, but little of it mattered to Zulfiqar at this point. He was soon to be driven out anyways by his father; he'd felt those eyes lingering on him for longer than some of the more submissive of his brothers. All he had done was take initiative and ownership for what was going to happen anyways. He was proud like that.

At least he didn't consider himself to be as cowardly as Sedna and Nahusha, the two who had left the clan for safety in the aftermath of the fight. He was far superior to those traitors.

His eyes narrowed at his mother as she likened him to them.

But he knew better than to verbalize anything or do better in his gestures. She was not the clan head, but she was still far stronger than he. At the sound of his sister's voice, he turned and barely had time to catch her grip in his own, the sheer force of it sending the both of them rolling a few times until he eventually landed on his backside, effectively pinned. Hissing and baring his fangs, he lashed out with his tail to try to get her off of him. To think he'd let her catch him in the moment when normally he'd end victoriously... What a sham of a fight.

Really, what had she to gain in continuing this anyways? According to their mother, he was just a cowardly, traitorous being; fighting with him would only tire her out for the other brothers. In a spiteful sort of sense, he had to laugh at the prospect that this quarreling could help put her in her place later.

Eve sat in one of the trees watching others go about and battling one another for status. Looking around to see if anyone else was just watching and not fighting she noticed a another female sitting a little higher up in the tree. Climbing up she came to the female.
"Hello, have you seen anything interesting yet?" she asked as sat near the other female. She moved the tip of her tail so that it garbed a few leaves and then passed it over to hands so that she could tear them apart.

The green naga teen gnashed his teeth at his brother's hissed response. Ridiculous! Tembikai would emerge the victor from this fight, and then they'd see who was the dirt beneath who. Except just then Nagendra's fist came at him and all Tembikai saw for a few moments was stars. He was beginning to panic now; the dizzy feeling washing over him made him weak and left him open for another attack from his brother.

Nagenda smirked as he hit Tembikai, it seemed that his words had gotten to his brother. Not wanting to give the other time to collect himself and retaliate. The orange naga quickly followed up his punch with a swing of his tail.

And since Nagendra wasn't a stupid naga, he was taking full advantage of Tembikai's weakness. He had to hand it to his brother; at least he wasn't fighting dirty. Tembikai tried to lash his tail out to strike at his brother, but his vision was still dizzy and he couldn't be sure he would land the hit. Nagendra did, though. The other naga's tail swung out and struck across Tembikai's middle, and the teen bent forward in pain.
