Hvergelmir winced, even as she watched the process. To outside eyes -- her eyes -- it all seemed to happen so quickly, and then it was over.

"That's a very serious oath," she said, her voice sounding a little weary. "Never forget what you've sworn -- because your Wonder won't. Be careful what flies you swat at, my friend."

She felt worried. As usual, she'd failed to discourage Hyperborea from rushing into a decision. And now the younger knight had tied her very life to the oath she'd sworn, broad and powerful in its scope.

All that was left was to hope she could live up to her promise.

"Ah -- I hope your head feels better. Goodbye, my friend," Hvergelmir said, watching Hyperborea turn to go. Her voice dropped to a whisper, worry already heavy on her heart. "And good luck."
