As she continued, Remy became certain that she was doing this on purpose. Typical girl, his sister would probably tease him like this too. His brow furrowed. He really, really wanted a taste though. "I suppose smells could be deceiving..." He mentioned. "It's probably better to have a stranger try it first. That way, if it's not good you never have to see me again. If your friends tried it and it wasn't good you'd have to face them every time." Remy nodded his head firmly, but he was certain this treat was good.

It didn't matter if he knew exactly her intentions, only if it worked. Which...it looked like it did. "Exactly. I'm so glad you understand. Hopefully though it's not bad, and then I don't have to hide from shame from you." With that, she handed the male the strawberry treat. When it came down to it, really she just wanted to repay him for nicely sitting with her. He could've been a jerk and blown her off.
But no, he chose to be a gentleman and stayed. Other guys could learn a thing or two from him. She thought to herself, knowing how aloof her nephew Leif could be.

Remy took the strawberry, hesitating for a moment, waiting for Soliel to say something else. He took in a deep breath of that sweet smell he had been smelling for a while now. Then, very slowly, he took a bite. He tried to keep a straight face, to hide the look of pleasure. Who are we kidding though, Remy wore his emotions on his tail. "I don't think your friends would like this. I think it'd be best if you gave me the basket and then tell them that you had something for them, but it was stolen. Then they'll never know how bad they are." His lie was not a very convincing one, considering that he was taking bites the whole time he was talking.

She watched him take a bite of a dessert she had enjoyed many times before. The look of concentration on his face, all given away by his thumping tail. Which made the outright lie all the funnier.
"Really? I'm sorry to put you through that. I'll just...dump the whole basket into the lake so no one else has to suffer." She spoke with a bit of a smirk. She was calling out his bluff.

Awesome, she was buying it. "Yes, yes you should be...Wait... What?!" Remy called out. This wasn't the plan. "That would contaminate the whole lake though, then your friends would be gone-ers for sure." Yes, that's right she needed to give him the basket so that the lake wouldn't get contaminated. He was such a clever pup. Then he noticed the smirk on her face. Ohh... The boy sighed, flopping dramatically into the sand.

When the jig was up, she doubled over laughing, a hand over her mouth though it did little to stifle her. "I'm glad you liked it. I didn't mean to lead you on, but you obviously wanted to try some." She managed to talk when her laughter was reigned into giggles.
With a content sigh she flopped back onto the sand with him, still grinning from ear to ear. "You still haven't told me your name yet, you know."

Didn't mean to lead him on... mmmmm hmmm. He could hear how hard she would be laughing if she hadn't covered her mouth. "Laugh all you want." His feelings weren't hurt, he could handle something like this easily. He actually was feeling so satisfied with the strawberry he could care less that he had acted so foolishly. "I was going to tell you my name, but then you started teasing me." Remy responded dramatically. "But if you must know, it's Remy." He turned his face to the side so that Soliel could see that he was grinning and not all that sore.

She grinned all the broader as he teased in return, glad that he had a sense of humor. Some pae were so uptight! "That's much better! So Remy, when you're not sniffing picnic baskets, what do you like to do for fun?" She wanted to still wait at the beach, but he was such a ball of energy staying still was simply not an option. She wouldn't mind a little game to pass the time.

Remy laughed, when he wasn't sniffing out picnic baskets... That was cute. "Mostly, terrorize my siblings. But I do a lot of running, just getting out of the house and catching a breath of fresh air. Not very often my fresh air gets contaminated with picnic baskets." He glanced at the surface of the water, rippling from the wind, but no naiad to be seen. "What do you do when you're not bringing goodies to pae you can't get to."

Soliel laughed with him, looking slightly impish at being the cause of 'contaminating his air'. "I follow around my siblings myself, or go exploring. Chasing monkeys is a lot of fun...in fact..." The demoness glanced at the water herself, just to see if any naiads were popping out. But then she reached out and lightly tapped his shoulder. "Tag!" Soliel suddenly jumped to her feet before taking off, picnic basket in hand. "Winner gets another strawberry!"

After Soliel tagged him, Remy was still for a moment, stunned. Was she calling him a monkey? He thumped his tail against the stand, he was no monkey. Although.... If it was for a strawberry he'd be whatever she wanted him to be. In one swift movement the boy jumped up, she was a goner for sure. "You're going to have to run faster than that!" He shouted as he darted after her. That strawberry was as good as his.

He was right, what a fast guy! She scooped low to drop off the basket before revving up her pace. It was slowing her down, so she'd trust him to win the treats fair and square and leave the basket be. With that out of the way, she focused on running. Pulling her wings in tight to lessen air resistance, trying to zig zag to throw him off.
He was so fast though!

Even though he could see Soliel, Remy had mostly been chasing the smell of the basket. He hadn't realized she had dropped the basket until he had stopped, standing next to the basket, and watching her run away. He frowned as he finally made the connection and resumed his chase. Clever girl. True, that hadn't been Soliel's intention, but it had distracted Remy enough to put a gap between them again.

She wouldn't win in a dead run, she could see that with how the gap was closing after her basket distraction. She needed to think of something else. Suddenly the female veered sharply left, shooting through the tree line. She jumped over rocks, tree trunks, anything to slow the male down behind her as she tried to formulate a plan. Monkey's were fast, but Remy would be clever. It added a rather fun element to her usual game of chase.

Into the trees, perfect, he was much better at running in the jungle than on the beach. It seemed like she was trying to throw him off by running over rocks and dodging trees, but wouldn't that wear her out too? Unless agility was her thing. The thrill of the chase was exciting for Remy. "You can't slow me down!" He called out after her.
