She'd noticed some movement out towards the glen already, but no one else seemed to have moved south into the meadow yet, so that the route she picked. She took her time with it, enjoying the walk but keeping an eye open for mushrooms nonetheless. It was pretty peaceful out here, and out here in the grass there were even all these pretty flowers to look at. When it came time to decide where she was really going to hunt, she found herself following those flowers instead of venturing into the tall grass or following the wandering path. It occurred to her, suddenly, that maybe she was being a bit too relaxed about this. It was a competition, after all.
With a hum, she reached into the bag to gently retrieve the gerbil she'd been given. She didn't really need another one, not with Faraday already tucked away in her hive, but these were supposed to be good for finding mushrooms, right? She put it on the ground, frowned a little at how easy it would be to lose in the grass, and tried to keep as good an eye on it as she could.

Anguis was a troll of many things and one of them was an incredible amount of curiosity. So when he saw a sign for mushroom hunting, he decided to see what it was all about. After all, it wasn't often one could visit a festival outside of the city and he intended to fully take advantage of that. He had wandered off from Luxara awhile ago anyways, promising to find her later, so it would also be a way to pass his time by quickly too.
The rules of it were simple enough and after carefully picking out supplies that seemed would be helpful he started off, deciding to go towards the woods. Anguis had grown up near meadows, had spent his time in a lot of them and as far as he could remember he hadn't ever seen many mushrooms. He hadn't been looking for them either to be fair, but he figured if there was a large amount that would net him a win, he would've remembered it. The only problem was, where in the forest?
He chewed on his lip for a minute before deciding to spend his time on the edges, seeing what he could find. If possible and he saw something good he'd go in deeper but for now he crept on the edges, seeing what he could find. He let down one of the gerbils as well, figuring he'd try and see the little guy in action and maybe if he could find something. The gerbils were cute and he regarded them fondly, remembering his old bowling team.
