Bushi gave a half shrug, "It seems to be what drives many people, simple desires, but the sort that people tend to be unable to live without... that or they just don't want to live without." Either way he profited from the desires of others who were chasing after such things. Turning to look over at Ouen as he commented about the 'fine heroes they made' he gave the Shifter a glance, "I suppose we are set apart from those who might get a title like that, but it's not so bad. Not everyone can be heroes. World needs guys like us just like it needs the hero types." Giving pause the big Oban turned to look at Ouen as he commented on his lot in life. He gave him a smile, "You seem to have a rather good heart for one in your line of work." It was kind of cute in a way, wasn't it? That a bandit could be so naive about the way that the world went round. It seemed as though he was starting to understand though. "Hm?" Bushi blinked a couple times, then looked away, adjusting some of the bags that hung off of Aatos, seeming as though he was thinking on what Ouen had just told him. He didn't mind banditry, didn't mind people stealing from people and bringing the goods to him, it was how he made his coin after all. The idea that Talin was just out and about killing will-nilly, "Actually, while you may or may no beliieve me, I can't say that I care for the idea. If he's as dangerous as you say he's one I'd be leery of." Did he really want to keep a contact like that? One that would bring to him only blood stained good. It was something that would give him much to think about.

Bushi had interrupted his work on the big pack animal, glancing at him with a smile and mentioning his ‘good heart’. Ouen wasn’t sure if that was true. ‘Good People’, when he thought of them, were the kind of simple folk that lived in their villages, worked hard and cared for each other. You know, old men with long beards, fat women with children, that sort of thing. He hadn’t ever expected to be one of those sorts, even if he somehow managed to grow old and settle down.
“Talin done always make a show of spreadin’ what we take ‘round to the poor folks, returnin’ goods that was traded unfairly an’ all that. I like that there part. Takin’ all this stuff an’ spreadin’ it around, that’s the way it should be if you’s ask me. All of it done come from the land, don’t it? So everybody gotsa have a share. Just ‘cause one man’s got the money to buy a big wagon train an’ load it up to the top don’t mean he deserves no more than the fellow who comes with nothin’ but his hands to hold with. That’s what I think, anyhow. But this money, Talin keeps t’a himself. I done never even knew how much he made this way, seein’ as he never bothered telling no one.”
He wasn’t entirely sure how Bushi would react -- given that he was an Oban, and clearly in the business of making good business -- but he did hear some hesitation in his voice.
“Leery’s the right way to put it.” He conceded. “I don’t do no killings on any of the raids I’m on, when Talin ain’t around. It’s bad for business, I’d say. I know you Oban kind, you’ll only take so much bullyin’ before someone gets mad enough to march through the jungle an’ burn Talin out if they gotta. An’ for right reason, too! That day come, an’ I’m gettin’ the heck out, that’s a sure thing.”

Bushi listened to Ouen as he set to explaining the parts of Talin that he did like, things that seemed a bit more philenthropic then any bandit that he'd ever heard of. He wanted to go about stealing from the rich merchants of the world to give it back to those who were lacking in funds? Something he'd have to keep in mind since Bushi himself was well off enough that he might draw his attention. The last thing that he wanted was to draw so much attention from Talin's group that they decided to come after him and what he carried. Offering a prayer up to Nerad and On'os for their blessings when it came to staying on their good side. He said nothing about it out loud though, feeling as though perhaps Ouen just wanted to vent? He didn't understand Talin or the money that he kept for himself, and maybe he just had to work it all out for himself? "Well, I can't say that I am going to be going to hunt him down but it's fairly likely that he's going to garner the attention of someone. I for know know that the soldiers of Oba can be quite persistent. If he really is causing a lot of trouble for my people then I'd suggest that you watch your back. I'd hate to see the lot of you get in over your heads or possibly lose it since you seem like a nice enough guy." The idea of them all getting either arrest or cut down by soldiers because the bandits ended up with a bounty on their heads. It would be quite the waste. It might be best that he continued deeper into Tale or perhaps Sauti just to avoid the Oban soldiers that might come looking for the bandits and their contacts. He had a tense enough relationship with the soldiers to want to get more of their attention him because he had Talin as a contact.

Orpheus Solon ok! i believe that's it for my posts. ow o thanks so much for doing this rp. <3 gonna grow Ouen soon and if you ever want these two to meet up for something again, lemme know~! Ouen eyed Bushi -- not threateningly, just by way of contemplating his words and… his presence, really. Truth be told, the whole matter of banditry was making less and less sense to him, and this encounter with Bushi had somehow cast an even clearer light on the fact.
For even though Bushi had not voiced his silent concerns, Ouen had inevitably been thinking the same thing. Wasn’t Bushi, too, an Oban merchant? And one who was clearly well-off, judging the business-like way in which he counted out riches and bags of money? Sure, he probably wasn’t filthy rich, what with a notable lack of servants and wagon-trains trailing behind him, but he had money. Would Talin not have chosen to strike at him, had they not had a prior (and more profitable) agreement in place?
The inconsistency of this did not sit well with Ouen, who tended to think of things in moral blacks and whites (albeit not exactly the same blacks and whites that other folks ascribed to).
“Well, hell. I’ll take your advice there. I ain’t the sort to to switch sides willy nilly, you see -- I got loyalty, for folks that stick by me. But if all this goes south like I think it’s gonna, well… Talin can’t claim I ain’t done and spoken up ‘bout it.”
He reached up and gave the pack-bushi another last stretch on it’s leathery head, then turned to head back the same way he came.
“Well, you’s a nice enough guy yourself, so you do an’ be careful in yours own way. We’ll see where this does and takes us.”

Stereochrome Thanks for the fun RP, let's have them meet up again sometime! If you can toss on a FIN when you can? ^_^ Lifting a hand Bushi waved as Ouen headed on his way, "Come by any time, Ouen!" He called after the Shifter before turning back to Aatos, "It seems that things are getting interesting, aren't they? We have a lot of work to do now, but it will come with a profit later." Something that he liked the sounds of, even if it meant a lot of extra work on his side. After he checked over Aatos's bags one last time, making sure that everything dug himself out a water skin. Leaning against the big turtle, patting a hand against his shell, Bushi took a drink of water before he commented, "We should see about going for a kinfa hunt before we leave Tale, what do you think, buddy?" It was a question that caused the rust colored bushi to turn, looking at him, before looking away again, which had Bushi laughing, "Alright, we have our plan then." He said, giving a glance in the direction that Ouen had head, before he moved to get ready for just that.
