She lunged back, gaining some leverage. Well, for a moment, anyway. The terrain was slippery and unforgiving, even to her boots. She took a sloppy shot, but hit, and took solace in that even as she fell down. Oh, look, the gator was taking advantage of the moment. Lovely.

Forera dealt 7 damage.
BOSS HP: 60 - 7= 53HP The tail of the Swamp Beast wasn't something Forera would play around with in the least. The moment she felt the beast whack her back like a whip, Forera fell smack dab into the water, still going through intense shock. With a heaving breath, to get out of the water, she suddenly felt a large presence above her-- Oh, ********, was that the beast??! The tealbood quickly pressed a trinket she had on her hip before punching upwards, right into her tummy-- Hey, that seemed to get her!
HP: 14 - 3 = 11 HP

Military Weapon: Yes!Gog bless the other girls. Rasali darted away from the swampbeast the second its attention faltered in the face of the others' onslaught. Rasali's getaway was about as ungraceful as it was futile thanks to the shifting mud. Her own footsteps caused the ground beneath her to slide into the water, which was to say nothing of the broad claws of the swampbeast. Rasali at least felt the dull thump of her chain hitting flesh as a nearby step of the swampbeast sent her a**-first into the water. Rasali does 2 damage!

"Ras, 'Rera, Lux, out of the way!" Yelled Aerona. At this point she wasn't sure if they would be able to, but at least she'd given them a heads-up. "Sun grenade!!"
There were stun grenades, and there were sun grenades. Aerona whipped out a small slingshot-like device from her side and loaded a metal ball the size of a golf-ball into it. She waited... And waited. Once again, the teeth were ready to clamp down. Aerona fired!
All she could do was duck away and shut her eyes when the grenade went off, combusting in a bright fiery flash down the gullet of the beast. She dropped into the water and found herself flailing before she gained headway.

"Yo! Jeez! That is nasty!" Luxara commented, leaping back. What had Aerona just dropped into the animal? How had it not outright exploded from something like that? Whatever. She found her footing, noted the swampbeast was distracted, and fired a shot. Not her best; she hadn't cranked the crossbow as much as she should have, but it hit. That was what mattered right now.

"Hey, Aer!" Luxara called while the swampbeast was distracted with Forera. She ran over to her team mate. "You're not looking too hot. Here, I've got something." The greenblood pulled a keychain out of her pocket, then pressed it to Aerona. "I think that's how this works? Anyway, it should help! Don't want this thing to best us, right?" she asked with a wink. "Gotta be prepared for the worst, since, you know, considering."

BOSS HP: 43 - 7= 36HP Again, the Swamp Beast managed to catch Forera in her razor sharp jaws, leaving the tealblood with little to no option other than to thrash like a lunatic, punching and shoving her gauntlets into every crevice of her mouth she could. It almost made her claustrophobic, that was for sure, feeling the teeth crunch down on her every moment she resisted. With a SMASH to her upper jaw, Forera managed to get out of that nightmare once more, falling into the swamp with a light splash! She was slowly starting to get tired, and it showed by the way she moved. They needed to off the parent, quick!

Military Weapon: Yes!Rasali once again found herself surrounded by bubbles as she was submerged in swamp water. At least this had happened to her enough times she'd had the forethought to take a breath beforehand. She'd also been in this predicament enough times that night to suspect what was going to come next. A maw full of sharp teeth clamped down inches from Rasali's face, taking some of her arm with it. Painful as it was, the bite gave Rasali immediate knowledge to the whereabouts of the swampbeast's face. She only needed one arm to sock it in the face. Repeatedly. Rasali does 6 damage!

There was her opening! "Great job, Moon!" Announced Aerona. A lowhanging branch was just what she needed. Loading up another small cherrybomb into her gloved hands, Aerona made haste to get to higher ground. Her vantage point was simply perfection. She lit one bomb with another while dangling overhead and chucked it down below.
"Take this! Aaah!" Nothing seemed to be taking huge chunks out of the Swamp Parent -- but avoiding danger was a huge step forward.

Turning from Aerona to reload and shoot once more, Luxara's eyes widened as she caught sight of the beast's tail. Then, nothing. She couldn't breathe. Her orifices were flooded, as was her sight. Luxara needed to get back to the surface, but a heavy weight flopped on top of her. A scaly one.
The freaking thing was sitting on her! What was she, a chair?
With what strength she had left, she scrambled to make an awkward shot, up close and personal and totally blind. However, it nailed the swamp parent right in the flank. It scurried off of her, and Luxara rose from the swamp water with a gasp.

BOSS HP: 23 - 3 = 20HP Forera jumped to the side, allowing the swamp beast to turn its attention to one of the other gals before realizing in the heat of the battle that she had... many, many bruises and cuts. Her metal arm was jacked up, as well. Oh, this was just great-- With a harsh grunt, she quickly slapped her own cuts to get her going again, hissing in anger before heading over to deliver a hard whack to the Beast's jaw.

"Forrrrrr!" Luxara almost sounded like she was shouting a majestic battle call, but alas she would pause to cough and sputter after the bad row she just had. "H-hey! For! I know you're kicking a** and taking names, but I also see you're having a tough time, so, uh." Luxara whipped the trinket out again, applying it to her old bestie. "I think this'll help? We don't want Ang to yell at us both, right?"

Military Weapon: Yes!Rasali seemed to have "convinced" the gator to let her arm go--but not without a little chewing. Rasali tried not to look at the gouges in her bicep and instead used the swampbeast's face as a springboard to propel herself back to the surface. If she lost a shoe out here in the muck, she'd be sure to replace it with some nice gator-leather loafers. ...Or maybe she'd invest in actual, location-appropriate footwear for once. Her sandals had been failing her somewhat as of late. Rasali does 3 damage!

Seeing her comrades go down and get back up again was terrifying... But hell, it was also inspiring. "Rasali, I've got you!" She exclaimed. The gator bites made their leader look worse for wear, and without thinking Aerona dropped the nicknames to quickstep in and lay waste to the crocodile threat.
She lit up a flare. It was an attempt to draw the foe's attention - not that she needed more hits on her own part, but she seemed to be a little more successful in escaping those enormous jaws.

And, as if to counter every effort to keep her team mates alive, the swamp beast was on her again. This time, her arms back in its jaws. Luxara screeched, though more in annoyance than anything else at this point. "Why won't this thing just stop already?" She whacked at it with her crossbow in her free hand, and kicked a few times for good measure.
