A hand on the back of Ever's neck, playing with the buzzed hair there. "It's perfectly safe. These things are put through a barrage of maintenance checks every day before they're open. You'll be fine." There were probably gentler introductions in roller coasters, but none close.

Zeke lifted his head from a display of little glass figurines to give Ever an exaggerated look of consideration. "Suits you," he said with a teasing smile, then dropped his attention back to the display.

"It's Harley's birthday in a few days, how about you help me pick something out."

"I give you my word," he continued, fingers a warm, inescapable weight at the back of the other man's neck. "And if you don't like it, I won't ask you to do it again." He might have been a sadist, but that particular quirk had a fairly limited avenue.

Besides, he generally wasn't cruel to those he actually cared about.

"And I'll make it up to you." An open ended sort of offer that could have meant anything.

Zeke rolled his eyes. "Why wouldn't you?" Before Ever could argue, he continued. "Pretend you're looking for something for me." It wasn't as if He and Harley didn't share a lot of similar interests.

Morning after

A soft bump against Ever's shoulder as Zeke leaned into him, laughing softly. "That how you remember it?" Parts of it were accurate, just not quite in that order. "Imagine how bad you'd feel if I didn't force that aspirin and water down your throat, too."

Sympathetic guilt. From the moment they'd gotten into the car, and right on up to the present--Ever leaning over a trash can, abs Zeke's hand on his back.

When the blonde's stomach had settled he'd bought him bottle of water before leading him away towards their casino. "Reminding him of the leverage he now had over the Mist. They could spend another night drinking and gambling. That was just fine with Zeke.
