She nodded. There had to be good people out there. Even among all the bad ones. Kalliope was excited about the idea of meeting them all. "Yeah, I plan to travel and dance in all the territories." It was something of a dream of hers. Of course she knew she needed to find a troupe to be in first. Or at least have connections in certain areas so that she could dance and get paid for it. When Kalli heard about the Obans that had held him she dropped her eyes to the ground. Music was never taken for granted at her home. Mostly because it was a merry thing with her and all her siblings. Some sang, she danced, and her parents laughed as they watched the spectacle. "I am glad that you had something that meant a lot to you then." Though she did wish he had more than that. "I have always wanted to dance. Even when I was a youngling I wanted to. I told everyone I met that I would become the greatest dancer they've ever known." With a chuckle she looked back up at him. "Kinda silly but I still want to try and be great."

“That would be grand, wouldn’t it? Seeing different places and showing them your craft? Some of the people you meet might be seeing an Oban dance for the first time. It would be sort of nerve-wracking… but exciting, too, no?”
He’d often wondered similar things about his own performance. Would they like his Matori-style drumming over in… Tale, or Sauti, or Jauhar? Or would it simply make no sense to their ears? Were people really all that different in what sort of music they liked to listen to, or what sort of dance they liked to watch? He supposed the only way to find out would be to set out and see it all for himself.
“I’m not sure when I’ll set off… the rest of the troupe doesn’t seem as excited about the prospect of travelling further out. They’ve been doing things their way for a long while now, and even coming to Oba is a bit… err, ‘experimental’ for them. But we’ll see. One day, I mean to talk to the leaders about it, and see how it is they feel.”
He shrugged, then laughed a little at the girl’s proclamation of wanting to be a great dancer. Not because he found it silly -- just because he liked her straightforward confidence.
“That’s the spirit! You’re really on the right track anyway, seeing as I caught you practicing on your time off, without music or anything. That’s dedication!”

Stereochrome omg. D: You shoulda poked me about this. T^T Sorry! Kalli nodded her head and grinned. "Yes. I love the idea of seeing different places and being able to show off what I know as well as learning what they have to offer." It had been a dream of hers since she was a youngling. That she could share it with others was a bonus. "Oh. That's understandable. Some people just don't like leaving what they are comfortable with." Kalliope knew this because one of her siblings was like that. They didn't like leaving a familiar area. Or even doing something foreign to them. "It certainly couldn't hurt to talk to them about it. Maybe start off small and go to one of the smaller border settlements?" Now there was an idea. Her cheeks flushed a little and she gave a nervous laugh as she looked at the ground. "Actually.. my teacher is out for the day, so I would be practicing anyways." No point in letting Yanoi think that she was doing something extra.

Heras Box no worries! Vody's still a few reqs short of growing anyway. aaand i guess we're done here, just one final post from you? o w o He nodded thoughtfully, considering her words. Like her, he understood the troupe’s reluctance to leave behind everything that was familiar to them. Until recently, the whole world had seemed hostile, and now some people were just slow to change. But he had been spending more and more time thinking about travelling further out. In Oba he had met people from many distant places, and hearing their stories only made him want to go out and see it all for himself.
“I guess I’m just a little nervous about asking.” He admitted, shrugging his shoulders. “I’m not exactly influential in my troupe… I mean, I’ve been coming along, I think, but I’m still the second youngest. And the youngest, well, she’s just a youngling so.. you know. I don’t have much authority, all in all. I’m not sure if they’ll trust my advice. I’m not sure if I trust my advice, to be honest. I mean, I want to go, but it is dangerous, after all. I’ve heard that there are bandits on the border, and… well.”
Her laugher, nervous as it was, finally made him smile again. “Well, I’m sure you’ll be an excellent dancer. And I ought to stop dragging my feet about it and work up the courage to say something. Start small, like you said.”
He nodded, then stood up from their perch. “I guess I’ll leave you to your practice, since that’s what you need to be doing! But I hope I see you again sometime. You’ll have an easy enough time finding me. Just follow all the noise!”

Stereochrome Short post is short. >< But I think that is the last post we needed right? Kalli grinned at him. He was right, she needed to practice, but she was a little sad to see him go. The company was appreciated. "I'll keep that in mind if I ever need to find you." She chuckled a little at her words but gave a small wave of her hand. "I hope everything goes well for you and your troupe." The young dancer got to her feet and stretched a little. Another wave and goodbye made and she moved away from the bench so that she could start to practice her moves once again. Mostly she moved her hips but she was getting better at keeping rhythm.
