"Well, I may not be able to help you with a gym buddy," Chance said, giving a light laugh as he folded his arms across his chest. "But if you need a simple relaxation buddy, or a good drinking buddy instead, I can have your back there."
He winked and added, "Don't worry if you're new, it gets easier after a while just to get into the routine and s**t."OOC Character's name: Chance Bones Character's faction: Deus Ex Machina - Intermediate Sun Hunter Character's personality: Mild-mannered, laid back, relaxed, sassy Character's journal link: ★

It was his turn to slip his hands into his pockets. "Drinking buddies are always good," he said with a smirk. "Do you guys ID, though?" He probably looked a lot older than he was, which was fine for him.

6:01PM - Cafeteria The food looked the same to Ever every day, but maybe that was just him -- because the trainee to his left heaved a huge sigh at the messy slop of rehydrated mashed potatoes that was dropped onto his tray next to something that passed for meatloaf. It made Ever reconsider his own food, in a distant sort of way, and then look to the trainee on his other side, somewhat questioningly. "Doesn't look worse than anything else, does it?" He poked it, absently, with a fork. "I mean, there's nothing moving in there or anything..." Quote: Ever Ambrodiel, Life Intermediate Trainee. Ever's a beanstalk: six feet tall and extremely underweight, he looks like he'd break under a stiff wind. This is partially covered by the multi-layered style he's adopted, mostly worn-thin clothing rescued from thrift stores or the salvation army, heavy pants tucked into clunky boots. His hair is soft, fine, and extremely fair; his eyes are narrow, laughing, and very dark. His nose is a couple sizes too big with a bend in the bridge where it was broken, at some point, and never properly set. These days, he has a somewhat unnatural pallor, like he's barely seen sunlight in about six months -- because he hasn't.

Kat was standing behind the two in line. No tray for food, just one empty mug as she waited to get to the coffee. At Ever's comment, the sun hunter snorted, knowing full well how horrible the food was in Deus. "Just to be safe, I'd check it thoroughly." Of course, she was only joking. Maybe..Quote: Name: Katherine Taylor Journal: HereDivision: Full Sun Hunter Weapons: Dual Hand Guns Drabble Thread: HereBRIEF DESCRIPTION OF MY CHARACTER: AppearanceAge 23 and 5'6" in height, Kat has a few scars on her from bad encounters. The food wasn't quite as appetizing as he would have liked, but it was better than nothing. At the guy's comment he blinked and poked at his "meatloaf" with a fork, examining it briefly until someone else spoke up. He gave the hunter to his left a sidelong glance, eyes narrow and curious if she was being serious or not. She couldn't be...right?
"Better safe than sorry, maybe," he said, then glanced back towards the guy. "Probably."
He faced forward again and gestured at the mashed potatoes, but made a face at the small pile that was plopped onto his plate. It was oozing...some kind of off-white liquid.

6:02PM Cafeteria Ever half-turned to give Kat a grin over his shoulder, turning his place so that she could inspect, as well -- and then lowered it as he stepped away to [not exactly subtly] shovel the meatloaf out into a trashcan not too far away. It wasn't like he was really all that hungry, anyway. He'd just keep the mashed potatoes.

"No idea, actually," said Chance, tapping a finger against his chin thoughtfully. "I don't think so, though. I'm over the age anyway, but my boyfriend isn't, and he drinks all the time with no problems, so I don't think it's that big of a deal here."
He grinned at Rhys. "Gotta get through s**t somehow, right?"OOC Character's name: Chance Bones Character's faction: Deus Ex Machina - Intermediate Sun Hunter Character's personality: Mild-mannered, laid back, relaxed, sassy Character's journal link: ★

6:02PM Cafeteria
Snickering to herself, shifted her weight, watching the two with much amusement. She had seen Ever about before, but the other boy looked to be new. That, or she was just really bad with faces- which was usually true.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to the meals here. Besides, I've only heard of a few stories where people have ended up in the infirmary from eating the food here." Again, joking. Maybe.

He nodded, smile a bit wider as he laughed once more. "Yeah," he replied, "yeah we do. Working out or doing crazy s**t's usually how I do that, but drinks do a hell of a job, too."
A light breeze passed and he felt a sudden chill, given his damp clothes and how his body was already cooling down, so Rhys gestured toward the bench press. "Yo, I gotta get back to work. Think you could spot me or did you need to be someplace else? "6:02PM Cafeteria
He watched as the meatloaf was trashed, but elected not to give up the source of protein. He needed it to keep himself in shape, after all. Still, he stabbed at the meatloaf and sort of shredded it as they went down the line, and when he was content that there was nothing alive in the mashed meat that was left over he gave a shrug.
"Sure hope so," he said as he eyed the now much less appetizing pile of brown mash. "Kinda wish I hadn't 'inspected' it like that, though. Look at it...now it really looks like s**t."
His stomach grumbled rather unpleasantly at the sight, and her joke seemed less and less like a joke the longer he stared at it.

4:15AM - Room
Noemi was coming back from the cafeteria, dragging her feet but trying not to make too much to her room in the basement.
The snoring though was so loud that she came to Rhys room instead and just...
Stared. She thought about perhaps putting a pillow over his head. No one would even suspect it was the sweet mist hunter down the hall...right?

Noemi left and then came back, sliding into the room with a large sized Alpaca.
Then she placed it on top of Rhys face. Attempting in a sorts, to muffle the sound.

It worked. His snoring was rather successfully muffled by the large stuffed animal, but who knew for how long.

She waited 10 minutes. 10 minutes and she heard a blessed silence.
She closed her eyes.
She would later realize that she had abandoned one of her favorite animals to a stranger who she had know idea was.
Nooooooooooooooooo.

He briefly woke up when he suddenly inhaled stuffed toy instead of air, and he sputtered, sat up and groggily inspected the cause. It was a giant stuffed something-or-other...but he was too sleepy to care. He discarded it to the side of his bed and drifted back off to sleep.
Soon enough the monstrous snoring began again.
