ADDITIONALLY! If you have anyone who you know has a soquili or familiar they want to get involved in the group/is involved with one of your own members, feel free to invite them to this chat to help out!
Also, I was thinking . . . Maybe there could be a variation on a 'hand-fasting' or 'promise' ceremony. A romantic little thing where love is declaired and celebrated. Not a formal life/love mating thing, more something light that promises things like 'you will always be in my heart' or some such. There could be a few variations. One that's the sweet 'new love', one for long time relationships that reminds them of what they mean to each other, one that's for family groups that just dedicates them to each other, one that's a farce that's just to make foals laugh as the 'ugly washer woman' finagles a knight into a ceremony, etc. These could be preformed by the king/queen of the day and might entitle the participants to be part of one of the feasts or something.
I was actually pondering one of the services being a chapel that performs lifemating ceremonies and handfastings last night while I was laying in bed!
And a Maypole could be fun. Perhaps it could even be their 'totem'? Introduced by Dreamwalk Village with the Lapsang Reenactment Flag at the top. Like this!

I like all the descriptions so far, especially the code phrases. They're actually brilliant! It defiantly makes me think Luljeta will be at home here in such a great atmosphere. This thread has actually made me think that one or two of my other soquili may be able to help out too.
My first soquili has always been plotted to be a master teepee and tent builder but I think with a troupe like this there'll be more of a purpose for him. So here goes.
Rooted elsewhere but wanting to help:
First I have Akuba, he's a master teepee builder and does tent repairs, offers transport solutions and he often has lots of spare parts, rope, materials, pegs you name it and there's a good chance he has it. He has an already established family around his ankles and has had for many years so he's very much rooted with them, however they are all adults with their own lives now so he can go away for a few days to a couple of weeks to do his job on location. (Also he loves his own home a lot, it's built with love and is well kept, it was too large for just him though so now he has his children who occupy it too.)
So if you need a new tent designed and built to the specific needs of the troupe or the events they wish to house, same goes for stalls, he's your guy. :'D
Second up is Edward, he's gone through a lot of training in combat, jousting and general safety when handling battle equipment and armour. He lives with Akuba and the rest of the family but luckily they are not too far from the troupe's home base. He could always come visit and give a hand when new people are being trained up and when new routines are being thought out. He's a very friendly stallion who would gladly help out when they are on their break from touring.
Wanting to join:
Third up is Echo. I'd love to throw him into the mix, while he'd really admire the re-enactments I think he'd do well in security / safety, behind the scenes and logistics work. He also have some knowledge of tent repair as passed down to him from his grandfather Akuba. He still has a lot to learn but he's more than willing to do so. He might make a good ambassador of his grandfather's herd too.
If you ever want your first thief caught in RP I've got one of those too. So much fun to be had hehe. x'D
biggrin The home troop could use some allies that they can hire to help them with their smaller numbers when the rest of the team is out and about.
~Latonia de la Courtel~'s Terhi Tarik (The Hawk she won in the raffle) is also a member of the security team, acting as a Spotter, so the two of you could likely end up working together with Echo and Terhi. (also, the faire is, as you likely can tell from the descriptions, MOGII Friendly, so while guests might misgender him, the troupe should, as a majority at least (They arent a hive mind so some individuals might have issues) have no problem understanding Echo being a stallion, and I'm getting myself some perfume and incense merchants who could help him pass, but could just be NPC's right now)

I THINK instead of the "ugly washer woman" and the Knight, which derives its 'humor' from removing the consent of one of the party members, which MOST of the faire members would frown upon, if they were to have a joke handfasting ceremony it'd be two Fools who's vows are entirely made of puns and are hard of hearing so are constantly talking over the priest and trying to tell each other what the other one said and generally misunderstanding things.
However! Latty and I were chatting, since she has a lot of faire experience, and here's something we COULD Do!

I love that maypole, and I think it'd be fun as their 'totem'.
I don't disagree with the 'against their will' of the idea I had, I just knew I wanted to add a comedy one and that's the best I could think of after work last night. I like Latonia's ideas. We have washing well wenches at the renfest here too, it's what gave me the idea, but their script changes from year to year. Some years the wenches are covered in mud, fake warts, and horrible false teeth, which is usually the years they would 'trick' someone into more 'romantic' scenes. Both the flowers for their loves and the two fools in love are great ideas.

If there's anything in any of the blank (or even filled) Categories in the first page you have any ideas for or want to know something to add to it or want to ask me about (and thus force me to focus on that particular thing so I can actually focus on writing up a rough mock up on the concept) I'd love the help filling out the info or at least giving me a "One at a time Focus" since I write better when explaining something to someone directly than writing about it in a void. A lot of the staff I posted are paraphrases of conversations I had saved about the concept.
Another thing you can do: you can also help me by writing up some form mockups, things like the following:
"Request to Join": The Character's name, picture species, personal info, how they joined (were they born in did they join elsewhere: And where from if somewhere else), Why they joined the troupe, job (if any) etc etc -- Things that might be valuable
"Our Herd wishes to host": For herds wishing to host one of the fairs one (or more years. Things like describing the herd (Either full write up or Summary and a Link to their main page), their territory (Size, environment), their active and known neighbors, if they have any thing they can provide, if they'd keep an alliance with them afterwards.
"I wish to give my services": For owners who wish to add things like graphics, do some map mockups, write up information for the front page, offering their help in other peoples herd related rps (Like making left and right speech bubbles for those with new members to make rp easier to pick out who said what, or even DM'ing a scene for someone (Describing the setting of your area that belongs to your existing character/npc so people know what to rp in, maybe having a brief cameo here and there in passing.)
"I have a Meta-idea" -- For events that effect the herd or faire as a whole. Can be something as minor as "Faire during a rain storm"
"I Have news from my characters": Posting an RP and its current place in the group timeline.
WHICH IS SOMETHING I HOPE TO SET UP IN MY GUILD ONCE IT STARTS ROLLING! While backdated rp is 100% allowed, I am going to see about setting up a timeline for the herd so we'd know we were at this herd in February, that herd in April, This herd in June, That in August etc, and linking to RP's in order of happenstance so people can refer to it if they want to do backdated rp and see what was happening when.
"looking for RP" etc -- There are quite a few forms that could be made to make friend finding easier, plotting backstories with people, finding people you can plan existing friendships with etc.
