Vanessa's pretty mouth fell open, just slightly, at the feel of Jarias's teeth on her neck. She did not need to see it to know that there would be a mark there later. The boys would ask questions. Vanessa didn't care. It was hard for her, to let Jarias pull away- when she never wanted those lips to stop. She was flushed and breathless, mane of hair slightly tangled from having Jarias's hands in it earlier. She swallowed, left the shot glass on a table.
She wanted to ask about the price of the room. Almost suggested that they wait just a little while- so that Jarias could get her money's worth out of the space. But it was Jarias who'd suggested that they leave. Jarias who'd offered to drive.
'Follow me.' Vanessa did, smiling to herself over the fact that they were slipping out the back door. It occurred to her to text Jack. To tell him that she would not be coming home. But she'd lost her phone somewhere on the dance floor, and was too distracted by the memory of Jarias's hands on her body to care much about finding it.
She stole a kiss when Jarias opened the car door for her. Took her time actually climbing in, because the bouncer's lips were so soft- and then that one kiss turned into a second, which became a third, and Vanessa would have dragged Jarias into the passenger seat with her if they did not have to
be somewhere.
When she was a little girl Vanessa's grandfather drove a car just like Jarias's. She said as much, babbled a little story about how he'd let her sit on his lap and steer when she was too little to see over the wheel on her own.
"I loved that car," she said and then, touching the Lei that dangled from Jarias's rearview mirror. "I love this car."
She watched Jarias on the drive. Examined her profile. Thought about pressing close and putting her hands on the other woman. How long, before Jarias had to give up and pull over so that they could continue what they'd started? Vanessa smirked to herself, decided against it only because actively causing a car accident seemed irresponsible.
And then they were inside Jarias' apartment, surrounded by soft shades of white and gold. Vanessa bit her lip when Jarias looked her way. She felt strangely naked in the silly Wonder Woman suit- bare in a way that she had not felt upstairs in the club, where the lights were low and the sound of the dancers below had contributed to a sort of fantasy. That was not more than a half an hour ago, but she had known nothing about the woman who stood in front of her now. Since then, Vanessa had learned that Jarias had the most fantastic taste in vehicles. And that she lived alone.
This space was far more intimate than the Rainbow Room that Keep had saved for Jarias. Vanessa swallowed when the other woman stepped closer. Reached for her belt loops again, fingers more confident when they tugged their hips together this time.
Vanessa found Jarias's neck with her lips.
"Yeah," she breathed and then, with her teeth, left a little mark of her own, "bedroom."
