"...is the monster gone?" At least Austin came out without waiting for an answer -- albeit slowly, with the gun in hand, frowning just a bit as he approached where Cecil had landed after his own less-than-graceful sail through the air. And, after a brief moment of hesitation and one gusty kind of sigh, Austin set to the task of doing what he could for Cecil with the bandages.

Step one: take the shirt off, no matter where Cecil was actually wounded. And once that was done, he got more into the task: fingers searching for broken ribs or internal injuries, especially around the abdominal area, only moving to arms and legs once that had been thoroughly tested. He wrapped Cecil carefully, and all things considered, he wasn't terrible at it.

"You realize none of us could actually carry you, right?"

He chuckled, then winced. "I get hurt too much not to walk around with supplies." It would have been funny if it wasn't so woefully true.

Justin's orders were followed obediently. First the sweater, then the beat up jersey, leaving Liam's upper body covered in only the bandages Corey had reapplied right before he'd left the dorm. There were spots of blood across his shoulders, a touch low on his lift hip. The worst of the injuries reopening, again, with the impact with the building. He probably needed stitches for a few of the wounds, but they hadn't had an opportunity to address that up to this point.

"There's more in the bag." He glanced across the street to Austin and Cecil, gave lingering for just a moment on Asutin's hands before sliding up Cecil's chest to his face. "You alright, Cecil?"

"I think it's down." Cecil confirmed to Austin, listening for a moment to make sure himself. He didn't hear movement so he could only hope it was true. There would be no way he could make it through a second attack.

"They are a little hard to avoid when you can't see them, Justin." His frown bordered on being a pout but it quickly shifted to an awkward smile as Austin approached. The man didn't even say a word he just got to work and with his help Cecil was able to remove his jersey which left his torso bare. There were a few remaining bandages from his previous adventure with first aid but they had bled through at the front and on the side. Removing them exposed the number of bruises he had collected along with the knife wound to the left of his stomach and the bullet wound in his side that were both currently bleeding.

"I'll be alright." He called back to Justin, taking a slow and steady breath as he repeated the same thing to himself mentally.

He expected Austin to just help remove the old bandages and get the new ones in place and be done. What he had not expected was the thorough check over but he tried to remain still, his shy smile still in place while Austin poked and prodded places that sometimes got a wince of pain. Only once did he flinch from something other than pain, an odd jarring laugh being forced from his throat as Austin felt around his ribs. His muscles flexed as he tried to retreat, his hands coming up in a surrender gesture. "I...I think I'm fine really...just bleeding."

After it seemed every injury was accounted for, some of which Cecil hadn't realized he had, Austin had bandaged him up doing a much nicer job than Cecil likely would have done on his own.

"I...I guess I didn't think about it." He had, he just didn't want to. It meant he would be left out here on his own because he didn't want to risk anyone staying just for his benefit. "Sorry to cause you trouble and thanks for the first aid, Austin." He turned to Liam to see how he was doing. "Yeah, I'll be fine. You?"

"Do I have to start calling you a klutz Liam? Maybe put you in a giant hamster ball for your own protection?" Justin continued to snark playfully as he moved in close to give him the once over. "Thankfully, you don't have to leave it just to Charlie's version of Hospice care, I had to learn first aid." he stated with a proud smirk, rubbing his hands to improve the circulation before investigating the bruised spots. It was one thing he hated, it was cold hands and a even colder examination table. "You have quite a few dings on you, but lets hope there are no broken bones." he continued his ministations, warm palms and fingertips testing to see if the ribcage was still holding strong. "great, no broken ribs and therefore no punctured organs, just some bruises and lacerations." he summarized, peeling back the current dressing with a furrowed brow and frown.

At least the boy was smart and brought, or was it smuggled a container of rubbing alcohol, not the drinkable kind, but the cotton pads did nicely at cleaning the gashes. " I know, it stings, shut up." he said pointedly, letting the leftover traces evaporate before applying the gauze pads and medical tape to the large marks. "How the hell did you get these injuries? you aren't that accident prone right?" the dirty blonde asked, unsure if his bad luck is contagious. "Right?" he asked again, a little more unsure, for all of their well being. The smaller gashes got bandages, he himself pulling out the hello kitty one he tucked away and putting the pink one, right on the bridge of Liam's nose. "Sorry, I don't have anything for you to suck on for being such a good patient." he helped with getting the jersey and sweater back on with hopes of minimal re opening of the dressed wounds. "If you need a crutch to lean on, i'll be glad to assist." he offered, scratching at his own nose, he didn't check if there were any wounds below the waist, thats too personal.

Nor was he going to look behind him at Cecil out of fear of losing too much blood that was meant to go to his brain and instead going somewhere else.

"You guys ok over there, cecil, you still breathing? Austin did you put a gauze pad over his mouth?"

Austin made a sharp sound as he sat back on his heels, his own eyes sliding off of Cecil and onto Justin and Liam for a moment -- and it came with a brief flash of annoyance that he couldn't quite explain. Frowning, he offered Cecil his jersey back, but not his shirt. That was probably ruined. Wiser to leave it where it had fallen.

"Why were you out here, anyway? What was the plan? Or was this just a dramatic storm into the sunset?" He rolled up to stand -- and Austin, at least, was perfectly fine, wiping dirt absently from his knees.

"No." It was indignant, came with a subtle pout as Liam let Justin doctor him up. He'd taken plenty of damage, but it wasn't from being clumsy. It wasn't like he'd tripped and fallen into the multiple biting mouths of a monster that had once been one of their leaders. Away from danger he'd managed to void any substantial injury, other than a gash to the leg that also hadn't been his fault. In normal corcumstances he was actually quite agile. Of course, these weren't normal circumstances.

He stayed more or less quiet after that, teeth clenching to hold any sound that might have come from an application of alcohol to already abused wounds, and only popped up again at the question regarding the source. "You were there." He looked up at Justin, brows furrowed. "In the hospital, Corey..." It hadn't been her, not really. And not the worst of the damage. "And some monsterous shadow thing with a sword longer than I am tall." He'd not been all present at the time, but there had been enough other crazy s**t happening for Liam not to question it.

Justin helped him back into the jersey and hoody, and Liam glanced across at Austin and Cecil, then away again at the blonde's question, suddenly sheepish. "Nothing like that. We were--I was going to see if the casino was accessible, cause they had a lot of liquor, and after everything..." Yep, still sounded stupid out loud.

He frowned, then sat up a little straighter. "I thought it'd be nice."

Taking back his jersey Cecil pulled it back over his arms and down his torso with care. It was much colder without the added shirt but he would make due. The article of clothing looked like it could barely be called anything other than scrap material anyway.

Shrugging his parka back into place Cecil slowly managed to get to his feet though his head was still swimming from the sudden flying lesson he had been given. "Yeah, I'll make it Justin. If anything I'm learning to deal with the abuse." Though he wished that wasn't the case.

With a groan he managed to stand to his full height, wavering only slightly before gathering with the others.

"It was kinda like a supply run." Cecil added hoping to at least make it sound a little better than it was. "They could have booze and maybe other things we could use back at the university." What Cecil wasn't sure, he was fairly certain getting food from the casino was a little too risky. "It's the thought that counts right?" He added with a hesitant smile.

Justin was busying himself with tending to his own scrapes, keeping half an ear for what Liam was saying. And the fact that they came out here actually looking for booze. The blonde man gave him a withering look. "I know the 'tin duo may have trailed you guys, but you all decided to go into a dangerous place in a small group that could easily be overrun." he scolded. "Safety in numbers and whatnot, what if you two got separated, you two already got the stuffing beat out of you." he continued to chide, covering himself in bandaids of Pink and yellow. "I understand your intent behind it, but the application is as foolish as having A Martini in a Old fashioned glass!" he continued the verbal scolding, this time directing his ire at Cecil. The pink bandage on his cheek did not help with his intimidation tactics.

It was clear that the 'Tin sass was in high effect.

It made Austin snicker, as he looked back to Justin, a hand sliding over his mouth to smother it some. Maybe it was the vaguely-old-fashioned rant the man chose to make his point, or just the sheer ridiculousness of how injured these two were, how unplanned Liam's run had been. Austen had to take a moment to gather himself together a bit before he spoke.

"Sometimes, the thought isn't enough, rockstar." He shook his head, offering Cecil a hand up. His eyes flicking downward again, briefly, because how could they not. "Sometimes it's all in the doing."
PostPosted: Tue Oct 06, 2015 7:22 pm

"I wasn't going to just charge in," he objected lamely. "If it seemed dangerous I was just going to come back." This hadn't been Cecil's fault, he didn't want him taking the heat for a bad idea. He might have enabled, but he hadn't been the cause.

Slowly, and with much wincing, Liam use the wall he'd been thrown against to help pull himself up to his feet, then stooped to retrieve his bag and shotgun, pausing briefly at the familiar nickname from Austin.

"We can just go back." It didn't sound like either of the other two men were all that keen on the idea, and Liam really wasn't up for a lengthy lecture.

Curious about the look Austin kept giving him Cecil raised a brow as if silently asking if there was something wrong. His words, however, brought a grin into place and Cecil looked off in the direction of the casino. "You're right. Actions do always speak louder than words. So does that mean your in?" Despite the beating he had just gotten Cecil still seemed up to the task. "Could make for a good story later."

He frowned turning to Justin a little put out by the scolding he continued to get, lost on the analogy the other man had decided to use. "I may not know that much about martinis but isn't it still the same drink no matter the glass?" His experience only branched as far as solo cups and shot glasses but his query at least sounded curious instead of challenging. Maybe he just didn't have the mind set for fancier things. He had never to his knowledge tried a martini.

Justin stared for a very long time saying nothing. It was the longest pause that the man went without saying something while being awake and alert. "Gentlemen." he began, his voice oddly calm. "You might want to either wrestle me to the floor or cover Cecil with your bodies like human meat shields, because i'm ten seconds away from unloading this gun on him. " There was a wild look in his eyes, a man that had lost all rational thought and could only see a darkening shade of red clouding his vision.

"How about Justin and I, who seem to be competent and uninjured, go and find the alcohol -- while you two, who seem to be damaged goods, head back to campus to get yourself taken care of?" He shook his head just a bit, leveling the shotgun back up onto his shoulder. Unclear if he expected them to go along with that, of course, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

At the very least, it did mean he was in.

Liam took one look at Austin, ready to argue, when he realized just what Justin had said. Then, rather abruptly, he reached out and grabbed the barrel of the blonde's gun, keeping it rather firmly pointed at the ground. "No. He didn't mean anything by it." A hard stare followed, but after a moment he let go, an irritated frown taking over his face, and started heading for the casino.

"Let's just go and see what we can find."

Cecil could feel the cool anger coming off Justin in waves. He hadn't know his question would spark such a response and he immediately threw his hands up in surrender, on hand in a tight grip around the barrel of his shotgun, as he took a very careful and slow step back. There was a smile but it was clear he was nervous. He really didn't want to be shot again, especially by a shotgun.

"Woah, I'm sorry." He hastily apologized. "I didn't mean it. I was just asking."

He didn't dare turn away from Justin but he glanced at Liam as he came to his defense or perhaps his rescue. He could have hugged him in that moment, he had no idea how gun shy Cecil truly was.

"I mean, I can still move and carry stuff." Cecil finally replied to Austin after a beat. "And I can still shot this if I need to." He tilted the hand that still hand the shotgun in a firm hold trying to ease back into a more relaxed stance.
