Fleet Report
Bavaria ("Bav") is one of four feien from the MhtWis breeding who have opted to transfer to Gaia as one group. The full group is Brunswick, Munich, Berlin, and Bavaria. Their decision to transfer was the result of a group pact. All four have aspirations of power they don't believe can be realized within the confines of the Fleet, and the advantage that they are all allied as a single unit towards the procurement of that power. Their little group has been unofficially (and unflatteringly) dubbed the Brat Pack, or Bratwurst Pack, by several Fleet members.

Bavaria is the de facto leader of the group, quickly taking command of situations and her broodmates to help steer them towards their goals. She's smart, but can be a bit overbearing and unpleasant to deal with. Her broodmates are accustomed to her personality and methodology and have little problem with her. She proposed the idea that they transfer to Gaia.

Her bond in the Fleet was Walter Foreman, an Army officer who was willing to acquiesce to many of her demands but not to put her demands before his duties to the Fleet. This caused somewhat of a rift between then, and while there is no hatred, there is no love. Bavaria has been classed as a medium security risk by the Fleet. She bears no apparent ill will towards the Fleet, but her participation in the group is worrisome. She has undergone medium to moderate memory erasure to remove knowledge of Fleet locations and several personnel. She may remember officers and feien she met previously in the Fleet, she may not. Her memories of his broodmates remain mostly intact, though they may be hazy in spots.

Oh boy.

Trinityblue sat back in her chair, looking over the letter she had received. Eailer she had put in to receive a feien, one by which she was hoping would assist her in her work. That and from her past experience with her sister?s feien was quiet nice. Even Silva, who was a bit of an a**? well, more than a bit, but that was another story. They also seemed to do good things for her (like keep her from blowing major money). Besides, all things considered, this was like a vacation.

But from the sounds of this? Oh boy. The feien she had chosen was going to be a little more than she expected. She wasn?t that good with dominating people, let alone ?pack leaders?. Well, she would just have to deal with it, as Bavaria was going to have to deal with her. But the workshop was going to have to wait for a little while?.

Wait, her feien was on Gaia?

*********************

Gaia, finally she was on Gaia, away from the confines of the Fleet. Well, away from the confines, anyway. Especially with a bond who was more devoted to her job than following her orders. Really, the whole needing a bond thing was annoying. But maybe having a bond that wasn't part of the Fleet, things could go easier. Especially since her brothers and sister was here.

Baravia was to wait for her bond to come to the Fleet building, but waiting would take too long. She wanted to check out her new bond, the living situation, then find the others and where they had gone. They were split up again, not that she had expected anything to be different, but...

The blue and white fairy stopped as she came to a quaint little house whose porch light had just turned on. Out of which stepped a girl, With a tail. Bavaria frowned slightly. This had to be the one who was now her bonded. So, with that thought, she flew over.

"You're Trinityblue?" She asked once close enough, crossing her arms. She knew the rules about not letting others who aren't bonded or with a bond see her, but it was night. And she'd just fly away, letting them think it was a trick of the mind.

"Yes?" Trin jerked, looking at the small fairy girl, hovering in the air with cloth wings. She wasn't sure how that worked, but it did. Then it accrued to her and a smile broke across her face. "You must be Bavaria, correct?"

"Yeah?" She answered, studying the tailed person. She seemed rather... soft spoken. A smirk then crossed her face as a hand was lifted for her to land on. "Yeah, I'm Bavaria. Nice to meet ya!"

"It's nice to meet you as well." Trin answered. Ok, maybe this wouldn't be too bad. She seemed nicer than what she had thought. She was so going to have to call Ice now. "Well, welcome home!" She said with a smile, walking into the house.

Bav took a seat in the hand, looking around at the house. It was clean, straight, and smelled nice. Great, could it get any more boring? Least she wouldn't have to worry about killer rats.

This place just needed a little touching up. Bavaria style. A grin spread over the girl's face at that thought.

-----------------------------------------------

Okay, so, she got a Feien. A little person that would be her responcablity and under her care. Someone that she hoped would help her in the shop, when it was time to introduce her to that shop, anyway.

Now what?

Trin picked up the phone, dialing Icey's number. Her sister needed to know of this. Especially if she wanted to introduce her feien's.

The phone clicked as someone pulled it off the hanger. But it seemed to take a little bit longer than usual, and the voice that answered was definitely not Ice's.

"What the hell do you want?" Silva's voice rasped coldly.

Trin blinked until the voice regestered. "Oh, hello Silva! This is Aunt Trin, where's Ice?" She asked, a small smirk pulling on her lips.

"Hell if I know. Think she and the old man went to the bookstore or something." He said. He had propped the phone up so he could lounge next to it comfortably, chewing on his toothpick.

"Hey, Ice said something about you getting a feien. You got him yet?"

"Her. And yes, she arrived shortly after I got my letter." It figures Ice knew, she worked at the shop. "Um, wasn't I to go and pick her up? She came to my house on her own." She then asked, not really expecting Silva to know.

"She got to your place didn't she? She must have gotten your address from somewhere." He said, not sounding too bothered by it. "Just what we need, another little girl." He muttered almost to himself.

"Another little girl?" Soho asked, appearing out of seemingly no where. "Really? Is she cute?"

"I don't think she'd like to be called cute, Soho." Trin answered, grinning now at the other girl's voice. "According to the letter I received, she seems to be a part of a small group who decided to transfer to Gaia." She told them.

"But I'd love for her to meet all of you."

"A group?" Silva asked.

"Like a play group?" Soho asked. "Or a party?"

"Just what aren't you telling us, TB?" Silva asked, already sensing something strange from her tone of voice.

"Um.... More like a gang who's plotting to take over the world, type of group. They were even classified as a medium security risk?" She offered up, rather hasitly. "And she's a little more.... dominating than I'm used too."

Oh yeah, a group who plans to get powerful. Though Silva might enjoy that fact...

Silva choked. Then he burst into laughter.

"Ooooh, sounds fun!!" Soho said.

A little smile twitched at the corner of her lips with their reaction. It oddly made her feel better. "I think I should keep her out of my shop for a while, what do you think?"

Silva stopped laughing slowly, curious. "You think she could pull it off?" He asked. "What's she like? Other than dominating?"

"If she's Aunt TB's feien, that makes her my cousin!!" Soho said cheerfully. She loved having family.

"Yes Soho, that would make her your cousin." TB answered the little one first, then thought things over.

"Well.. she seems nice enough. A bit on the bossy side and so far likes to do things on her own. It's also like she's hiding stuff from me, too." Which she wasn't about to doubt.

Huh... Silva fell silent for a moment, looking thoughtful. "Want me to knock some sense into her?" She belonged to TB, thus, she was Silva's. It was as simple as that in his mind.

"Mister Silva Demon! You can't do that! She's a little girl!" Soho said, glowering at him with her fists on her hips.

Trin went quiet a moment, thinking some things over. "Well, that depends on her." She said slowly. "If she wants to get more powerful, you are diffently the Feien she should turn to for that." As scarry as it could sound.

Being knocked around equalled fight training in her mind. Besides, as scarry as Silva was, she doubted he was into randomly hitting girls without a good reason.

"Darlin', you don't seem to understand." Silva said calmly. "But hell, why not? We'll meet your little girl."

"Yay!" Soho said hopping up and down. "I was starting to get lonely. My girlfriend is off battling against the wild, you know."

Silva twitched. "Thank God."

TB choked on a laugh about that. "So, you want to hang out with another little girl while she's away?" She asked, grinning on the other side of the phone. Some how, that was just funny to her.

In truth, she had no real idea what Silva meant, but someone, it might be good for her. This wasn't the Fleet, but that didn't mean things would be eaiser for her to have her way.

"Of course!" Soho said. "I'm sure Marne will want to meet her when she gets back, too!" And kiss her, too. But hey, it happened. "What's her name? What's she look like? Does she had two eyes or three, like me? Is she pretty?"

"Why the hell did it have to be a girl?" Silva asked.

"Because I thought I'd be able to handle a girl better than a boy." TB answered him planly. But Varia was more of a tomboy than a real girly girl. Though that was a good thing in her opinion.

"Well, her name's Bavaria. She has blue and while circle markings, cloth wings, and really short red, curly hair. Two eyes, both purple." She answered. She was also pretty in a rough sortta way.

"Short hair?" Soho said, disappointment lacing her voice. "Aww. Can't do anything with short hair..."

"Yeah, alright." Silva muttered. "She there?"

"Heh, yeah, tell me about it." Trin said dryly, though any longer and it would be like a fro. Did Feien even have strightening irons? Then she glanced around. "Hold on, let me see if she's in the other room." She said, then set the phone down, though the muffled sound of her called for the feien could still be heard.

Then it stopped and the phone was picked up. "Um.... she's not here and I have no freaking clue where she's gone. I'll call you back... as soon as i fugre out where the hell she's gone off too!" Her voice was a mix of worry and anger, even a bit of dissapointment. She did not want to have to put a tracing spell on the girl.

The phone was hung up with a click.

"Well damn." Silva muttered. Just what he needed. Another pain in the a** to take care of.

Soho just pouted.

First Meeting on Gaia
Players: The Brat Pack, Silva

Trinityblue

Bavaria fluttered into the Fleet building after hitting the buzzer that allowed her entry. Once up the stairs, she went for the closest potted plant to keep an eye out for the others. Earlier she had plotted out a place that would be more privet for them to talk at, but since it wasn?t in view, she?d just have to wait for them all to get here, before heading there.

It was only a matter of time, and waiting. ?She hated waiting sometimes. It depended on what she was waiting for.

ShortGreen
Almost as if his sister's thoughts on how she hated waiting hurried time along, a blue and brown and red flash at the door slammed the buzzer and pushed his way inside. Head held high as if he owned the shop, Brunswick looked around expectantly, fluttering in mid-air. When no one was immediately visible, he sighed dramatically and ran a hand through his already-spiked hair, putting it further on end. Then he cupped his hands around his mouth. "Bavaria! Berlin! Munich!"

Sizzla
Munich came to a stop outside the Fleet building, not quite sure what to do. She'd only been there once, and she barely remembered it. Fluttering up to the top of the doorway, she looked around for an easy entrance. And then, she saw it. The button. Landing next to it, she pushed down as hard as she could (being the weakling that she was), and heard a buzzing sound as the door swung open.

Flying up the staircase, she saw Bavaria perched on the edge of a plant, waiting. "Hey Bav!" she exclaimed, flying over to her sister. "Good to see you again," she said with a smile, gracefully landing on the rim of the pot.

It was then that she heard a familiar voice. "Brunswick? That you? We're over here!" she shouted back between cupped palms, hoping he'd hear her.

Trinityblue
?Over here, Brun!? Bavaria called to him, aiding Munich?s own calling as she stood on one of the leaves of the plant. Well, there went the whole secret meeting thing. If the whole office didn?t know they were here, she didn't know what else would get their attention.

Then again, she had a idea.... but that would wait for later.

This was also is why she was going to have to find a new place for their meetings. Later.

ShortGreen
Grinning, Brunswick darted over to his sisters and landed in the soil beneath the leaves with a faint thump. He locked his fingers together and stretched lazily, arms high above his head. "Damn, that was a haul," he announced cheerfully. "Jack lives in the middle of nowhere. Don't know why. It's not like he's a hermit or anything. Weird. How about you two? Did you have to come far?"

Sizzla
"Nah, not too far...I quite enjoyed the trip actually. My bond lives in Gambino with her mother. It's a nice house on the beach. Rhea's still a kid, but she's got some potential, let me tell you! I think I may like it there...but she's a little cheery for my taste," Munich said, crossing her arms over her chest and crossing her legs at the knee. "What's your bond like Bav?" she asked, curious how different all of their bonded were.

"And where's Berlin?" she asked, looking around for any sign of her other brother.

Trinityblue
"Berlin might've had difficulty with his bond to get here. Or somethin'. I?ll drop him a letter if he doesn?t show." Bav said with a shrug as she too, took a seat lotus style. Course, she?d have to find out who he was bonded too.

?My bond? is pleasantly boring. Nice, but nice to the point I don?t think I?ll have any trouble working on things.? She told her brother a sister, a small grin going over her face, even as she noted the other two?s bonds. ?She lives a bit away from here also. I have no freakin clue as too why, though.?

ShortGreen
"I think Jack might because he sometimes blows things up." Brunswick moved to lean against a stem and made a point of absently inspecting his fingernails. He knew exactly how his next words were going to be taken and he wanted to savor them. "The morning I showed up there, too, he had some really ugly creature that he had to get rid of, too. Can't imagine a home owner's group would be keen on someone who summons... Demons."

Sizzla
"Well," she shrugged, "Guess I'll just have to wait to see Berlin..."

Turning to Bavaria, she had to comment. "Excellent. An easy target eh? I figure that Rhea's still young enough to mold...it should be simple enough, " she said, nodding. "Glad to hear you've found a decent bond--even if she is boring."

Her eyes went wide as she heard that Brunswick's bond liked to blow things up and summon demons. He sounded like a ton of fun! "I suppose you're right about that," she said. "No homeowner in their right mind wants demons running around the neighborhood," she said, laughing. "Though I've noticed that there are a lot of strange people here, who can do all kinds of crazy things. Sometime Bruns, you're going to have to let me meet this bond of yours. Demons sound right up my alley."

ShortGreen
"Of course," he replied airily. "I don't think Jack will be a problem at all. He had already cut me my own entrance in the door by the time I arrived." He tilted his head then and studied the other two. "I don't know if he's as easy a mark as the two you got but he could be interesting. Reckon Berlin's bond is demanding? That's why he's late?"

Trinityblue
Bav was looking at Brun with a mix of awe and a bit of jealousy . ?How the hell did you get the interesting bond??? She asked, then shook her head. ?Well, it explain why he lives so far away. Blowing up things and demons? eesh.?

Then she turned to Munich, a smile going on her face again. ?Agreed. Shaping and molding people to what you want will be a good thing. So, even in Trinityblue is dull, at least she?ll be moldable!?

She said her bond's name so that they would know who she was bonded too. Incase they needed to reach her.

Sizzla
"Could be," the fairy said shrugging. "Maybe he's just having far too much fun with his bond, and we're an after thought," she said with a sarcastic smirk. Who knew?

She nodded in agreement with Bav. "He sounds really interesting Brun. We'll all have to meet each other's bonded some day."

"I'm not fully sure that Rhea's completely moldable---she's just young, so I figure that she is...but I've just recently found out what's so special about her, so she may be more difficult to train..." she said, sighing. "She's a psion...and a rather powerful one from what it seems like...Should be interesting nevertheless."

Sitting back on her hands, she looked around the room. "So what do you all think of Gaia? Better than back at the Fleet?"

ShortGreen
"Well, the tech isn't as impressive and it takes a lot longer to get anywhere but..." Brunswick grinned wolfishly. "But there isn't anyone watching you all the time. No real security. No uniforms or doctors checking on you."

Trinityblue
Bav?s grin was similar to her brothers. ?Oh hell yeah. That?s what I like about this place! No guards, camera?s or stuff like that. The whole lack of advance tech kinda sucks, though. But I?ll live. What about you, Munich? How do you like it here??

Course, she wasn?t sure what a psion was, but she wasn?t about to say that. Though she figured it had something to do with psi. Eh, wasn?t her bond, wasn't her problem.

Sizzla
"I suppose it's nice here. I do like being away from all the prodding eyes. No one watches me here, and I do as I please...I guess I do like it," she said, her lips transforming into a grin. "Who needs advanced tech when you can have the freedom to do what you want, when you want, and how you want!"

ShortGreen
"Exactly." Brunswick threw his arms open wide and grinned broadly. "Freedom. I think we can put up with some low tech. Besides, having to fly more will be great for our stamina, right?"

Trinityblue
?Mun?s the one who needs to work on her stamina, the most.? Bav said, giving a teasing grin at her sister. She wasn?t strong, but she was smart and had a lot of magic to aid her. ?But yeah, the freedom is the best part of it all! As are uncontrolling bonds who don?t have obligations to other organizations.?

She looked around again, the smile fading from her face. ?We?ll also need a new place to meet. That isn?t a fleet building, ya know??

Sizzla
"Yeah," she groaned. "Flying is good for me. I'll admit it!" she said with a sheepish grin. "I'm sure some of you need to work on your spells..." she threw back, clicking her tongue at them jokingly.

"I do love the freedom," she agreed, sighing. It was so much more relaxing on Gaia...

Munich considered the meeting places that she knew of, which were few and far between. "I dunno Bav...I haven't seen too many spots that are convenient for everyone...You got any good ideas?"

ShortGreen
Brunswick shook his head slowly. "I haven't found anything yet but then I haven't been looking hard," he admitted. "If Bavaria and I live kind of on the outskirts and you live in whatchacallit... We just have to get a map and find a central point and look for spots there."

Trinityblue
"I'm going to look around. I was thinking about possibly meeting in a tree or something. There's a lot of trees around here." Bav answered with another shrug. "But let's scout one our own. If we find a suitable place, we can send letters to each other about the places we?ve found. Then choose."

Cerena
It was with vague annoyance that Berlin found himself finally 'allowed' to press the buzzer and make his way into the shop. He knew it was late -- too late? -- well, his siblings'd wait for him, he was sure. He was fairly certain this was not the best way of re-making a good first impression, though, and hopefully it wouldn't become his guardian's habit to detain him from such important meetings.

Over his mental grumblings, Berlin caught the familiar chatter eminating from a nearby plant. Cautiously following it to the source, he allowed a rare smile when he realized who it was.

He perched, slightly crouched, on the edge of the pot. "Might want to keep it down," He suggested airily before straightening and flashing his siblings a grin. "I'm sorry I'm late. It was all I could do to keep my bond from... forcing me into a dress before letting me go out."

[Here's his place in the group, as taken from the fleet report (I'm sorry I'm late guys XD;; )

Berlin is the "support" of the group. He's seen as being the quietest and most agreeable and tends to follow the lead of the stronger, more forceful personalities. He can be a good voice of reason when planning, since he's not prone to grandiose schemes or flights of fancy. His lack of focus is sometimes an issue with the others, but on the whole he's very necessary for the group dynamic. ]

Sizzla
A tree sounded like a good place to meet. There were plenty of trees between her house and the Fleet building. "Well, there are a bunch of pleasant-looking, good-for-meetings trees around here," Munich said. "I'll be on the lookout for anything close to here. I do agree that we need more caution than this next time."

Hearing Berlin's voice, Munich's ears perked up. "Hey kid," she greeted him. "Welcome. Good to see you're not wearing doll clothes," she giggled, tempted to continue. "I'm sure you'd look simply smashing as a pretty young lady! Is your bond not letting you leave the house these days?"

ShortGreen
Brunswick laughed and stretched out a hand to clout his brother on the shoulder affectionately. "Don't tell me I'm the only one with a guy bond, huh?" he teased. "Jack barely dresses himself decently. He's not going to be putting -me- in any frilly skirts. So, man, was it pink? Purple?"

Trinityblue
Bav choked on a laugh at this, then shot the other brother a crooked grin. ?It?s about time! Did she had trouble figuring out a good color for you? Or did you just up and vanish before she even got the chance to put you in a dress?? She said to him, dropping off the leaf so she could be on the soil with the others.

It was good to be all together again. ?Now you have to tell us about your bond. I?ve got a nice boring and moldable lady called Trinityblue.?

Cerena
"My bond," Berlin began flatly as if he had trouble believing it himself, "Is having a hard time grocking the fact that, as I exist, I have my own conciousness and opinions apart from hers -- she seems to think I'm like a... doll."

Though he might've shied away from physical contact from anyone else, Berlin merely glanced at the hand Brunswick placed on his shoulder and congenially rolled his eyes at his words. "Yellow."

To Bav, he elaborated: "She seemed to take offense at me not wearing anything at all, and all she had on hand were... Well, frilly things. She's the sort that's very easily distracted -- I merely pointed out a non-existant cat to her and went gratefully along my way. She'll be.. trainable, I suppose, in the way that very little puppies are. The drooling sort." He sighed at this.

"And the rest of you? Everyone is getting along well?"

Ice Queen
Silva twitched ever so slightly as he slammed the palm of his hand against the button. The door swung open and he flew up the stairs, his toothpick clamped between his teeth, irritation flowing freely through him.

Powers... three... four... alright. One of them had to be the new kid. He made his way into the waiting room and stopped as he got in, looking around slowly.

Sizzla
Munich just giggled at the thought of Berlin in a frilly yellow dress. She imagined layers of lace and satiny fabric...it was just too much! "It's unfortunate that she treats you like a doll. You'll have to teach her a lesson, now won't you, Ber?" she asked, wondering if her brother could stand up to his bond. "I'm sure you'll be able to tame her," she said with a laugh.

And she continued, answering his question. "I'm well. My bond is a little girl, probably four years old in Gaia years. But she can talk like an adult--it's just a little odd. She treats me nicely enough, though my current room is now in a shoebox...I'll have to upgrade soon..." She said, almost thinking out loud to herself.

Trinityblue
"Brun's got a bond her summom's demons and blows stuff up." Bav went on, explaining things to him for the other brother before he could. "And yellow is not your color. Maybe you should try explaining that feien don't have 'parts'?" She then offerend, smirking at him.

She was also clueless to the new person in the room. "I've yet to really claim a room. But I found this nice stuff beaver to sleep on for now."

ShortGreen
"I haven't really sorted myself out yet," Brunswick shrugged. He folded his arms behind his head absently and leand back anew, the pose something straight out of an old Western - the lone stranger, too tough for the town, too bad for the girl. He half-laughed. "Though the only thing that's apparantly off-limits to me is the main library. Jack said I could crash wherever I liked as long as I didn't wreck his books. I'm definitely going to take my time on picking the best place now. Right?" He glanced at Berlin with an impish smile. "Do you have a nice place of your own yet? Maybe a nice dollhouse or something?"

Cerena
"I'll have to teach her -- Cerena -- a lot of things," Berlin said thoughtfully in response to his sister, briefly raising his gaze to the ceiling as half-formulated plans began to appear in his mind. His attention almost immediately returned to Munich upon her next words, though. "Four? They'll let just about anyone these days become a Bond, won't they?"

"Well, at least some of us lucked out..." He sideglanced towards Bruns, eyebrows immediately raising at the 'jab'. "...Actually..." He hesitated, stepping from the edge of the pot onto the dirt and crouching down, wrapping his arms around his legs. "It is a dollhouse," He continued almost grumpily, "It's a nice one... Well, it will be anyway, after I, er, make some major overhauls."

It was only a few days and his Bond was already causing problems! Berlin began to realize that he vastly preferred his old one -- at least he didn't try to force him into a frilly dress...

Sizzla
"Yeah, they sure will," Munich replied curtly. Why did her bond have to be so young? Rhea was still a toddler after all. "I guess maybe because she acts like an adult...I dunno. She's awfully talkative. Regardless, she'll be easy to direct. At least that's what I'm hoping. She's still in her formative years, so I figure I have some time."

Munich chuckled at the thought of Berlin living in a dollhouse...but she quickly rethought it. She'd love to live in a dollhouse. Don't knock it if you don't try it, she told herself. "Well, I'm sure it's a nice dollhouse. At least you're not living in a shoebox like I am."

Rhea had said she'd get her something nicer. Munich had just been waiting to see what she could come up with. Hopefully it'd be a dollhouse--or something similar.

Ice Queen
Silva headed for the plant, wondering who they thought they were fooling. He slipped into the leaves, disappearing with each shadow that hit his flesh as he positioned himself just above them, looking down.

It was apparent that none of them had magical detection, else they would have noticed him coming in. And none of them had a recognizable magic pattern, either. Three were the same, one was different.

And that one was white and blue with short red hair. Just as TB had told him. He sighed and dropped down, looking them over blatantly as he chewed on his toothpick. Then he moved, standing right in front of Bavaria, his irritation on his face.

Trinityblue
?Don?t worry, Berlin. If ya need some help fixing that doll house, I?ll help, and I?m sure the others would as well!? Bav said, sitting back on her hands as they spoke. Yeah, she was going to have to find herself a good room.

Then, to her surprise, someone else decided to join in on the group. Someone who wasn?t them and she didn?t even notice him coming. That wasn?t good. Bav frowned, looking up at him ?Geez he was tall, especially when you were sitting on the ground. He was also really skinny?.

?What do you want? Can?t ya see you?re in the middle of something here?? She demanded, rather than asked, getting to her feet.

He was still tall?

Sizzla
Just as Munich was planning her dream house, she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. Turning around, she was now facing a much larger Feien--who seemed to want to talk to Bav. Curious about this new fairy, she turned to watch the interaction between the two. The taller one seemed pissed off. Was Bav gonna get it?

Munich's eyes darted back and forth between the two Feien, and she could feel a tense energy in the air. She could only imagine what Bav had done to anger this guy.

ShortGreen
Scowling (more at himself for utterly failing to pick up the magical resonance than at the visitor himself - that's what came of being too relaxed already), Brunswick pushed away from his leaning post and strode over to stand beside his sister. He folded his arms over his chest, planted his feet shoulder-width, and gave the much-taller feien a cool look. "Yeah, man?" he drawled. "Anything we can do for you?"

Cerena
"It's alright," Berlin said carefully, "Well, a lot more convenient than a shoebox, I will admit." And it had a sort of elegance to it he could appreciate; Cerena wasn't entirely irredeemable as a bond, he decided, wrinkling his nose at the thought of his sibling living in a shoebox.

"I appreciate the offer. My bond works in an antique shop, and has access to many things that would serve as suitable and functional abodes, so maybe if you want to--"

He promptly interrupted himself at the sudden appearance of their visitor, and lips pressing into a grim line, Berlin gave him a wary glance. "Excuse me -- this is a private meeting..."

Ice Queen
Silva looked at Brunswick, his lips pulling back in a slight smirk. Damn but he wished this was the one TB had gotten. The kid was rough and ballsy. And male. He would have no trouble dealing with him. After he beat the s**t out of him a few times, that was.

"Let's see..." He said thoughtfully, completely ignoring Berlin's comment. His voice was as it always had been, a cold tenor with a hint of sarcasm lurking. "For one, you can tell me. Which one of you is Bavaria?" As if he didn't know. But he was ignoring the girl brat deliberately, just to see what she would do.

Trinityblue
There was a small tick developing on her jaw as Bav glared at him. ?What?s it matter to you, jackass?? She asked, still having to look up at him. She really hated the looking up part, it was starting to hurt her neck. But there was the fact that he was surrounded by the others, and Bruns was to her side that made her feel a bit better (not that she?d ever back down from anyone, even if she was alone).

Even if he was pissing her off. Oh the things she could do to him--

Ice Queen
Silva looked at her, evaluating her like a man at the market, then he smirked and reached out to pick her up, moving so quickly that she couldn't avoid it even if she wanted to. He looked her straight in the eyes. "Well darlin, it seem's you're my new little girl." He drawled. "By bond relations."

Trinityblue
That comment made Bav blink, and her previous composer falter (especially when he picked her up). ?What? the hell?!? She asked, taken by surprise to this. Then she started to try and get out of his hold. ?Let me go, you a**! I?m no ones little girl!?

He was stronger than he looked.

ShortGreen
Along the same lines, if Brunswick's eyes were lasers, Silva would have been a smoldering pile of ash for the manhandling of Bavaria. "Put her the hell down, buddy," he snarled, unfazed by the obvious difference in size and strength. There was something to be said about bravado... Unless it got you killed. Stepping closer, Brunswick unfolded his arms and his little hands went into tight, angry fists. "Just get your hands off my sister."

Ice Queen
((Gomen guys, we've got to wrap this up quickly, TB needs some sleep cuz she's got a plane ride in the morning.))

Silva looked down at Brunswick, not loosening his hold on Bav at all. If anything he was being gentle. But he smirked. "You show promise brat, don't ruin it by getting yourself killed this early in the game." He glanced at the others, then looked at Bav once again.

"I've got one other little girl, darlin'. She's gotten into enough deep s**t, as far as I'm concerned. I get a call from your bond saying you're missing the same day as she got you, I take care of it." He told her calmly. "You make it so I have to kill somebody else I swear I'll spank your a** so hard you can't sit down for a month." He finished.

"Oh. And welcome to the family."

ShortGreen
"Promise nothing!" Brunswick snapped and his eyes were bright with barely repressed anger. The longer Bavaria was in this strange feien's grip, the madder he was getting. "She's not part of your family, old man. She's ours and we'll take care of her just fine, thanks. Butt out. She'll get back to her bond's house in one piece. Don't you worry about that. Now put her the hell down!"

Trinityblue
His little speech got her to stop squirming. He's killed someone? Well... s**t. "What the bloody hell? So she ends you after me?? Why that- that-" Bav was on the stunned side, not knowing what to say.

Then she glanced at Bruns before going to glare at the tall one again. ?Hear that old man? We?re a different class of feien than the one?s here. Now ******** put me down!? Again she tried to get out of his grip. It was embarrassing to be hung above the others like this.

Ice Queen
He put her down, gently, then turned on Brunswick, motioning him forward. "You can keep her safe? Then show me, boy." He said, a wicked little grin playing on his lips. He wouldn't hurt him too bad. He paused, taking the staff that hung across his back off and tossing it to Brunswick. "Show me how you can keep her safe."

ShortGreen
The younger feien barely managed to catch the staff, taken off guard by the challenge. "Like you can?" he muttered under his breath as he dutifully adjusted his grip on the staff, gritting his teeth. He had never used a weapon before. He was more used to fists and feet and this guy was strong. Even more aggravated at that thought, he added in another mutter, "All you're doing is throwing your own weight around."

Lifting his head and his voice, he suddenly beamed brightly at Bavaria. "Better step out of the way, Beevee," he announced. "If I let you get hurt, this guy will just have something to rub my face in." Then, without warning, he flicked out with the end of the staff, aiming at the strange feien's ankle with as much power as he could manage (and praying pretty hard, too).

Ice Queen
Silva was gone before the staff even reached the area he had been standing in. His hands reached around the boy, moving to adjust his hold on the staff. "Loosen up your hold, or you'll wind up hurting yourself when you actually manage to hit something." He said calmly.

"Your speed needs work. A lot of work. Even with the extended reach a staff gives you. And you've not seen my weight yet, boy. Right now I'm just enjoying pissing you brats off."

Trinityblue
?I?m not some kinda helpless damsel in distress!!? Bav yelled at them both, gritting her teeth again. The both deserved to get pounded for that one! Munich and Berlin were the physically weak ones!! Not her! She matched Bruns in speed, strength and stamina.

Then Silva moved, faster than she had expected. Again, she twitched even as she watched this. Alright. There was one fast and strong feien who was screwing with them for the hell of it. The tick developed in her jaw again.

ShortGreen
Brunswick looked down at his re-adjusted hands blankly for an instant and then he glared up at Silva again. On principle, the glare flicked over to Bavaria for a moment, too. He knew she wasn't a damsel in distress normally but, for the love of everything, she had just been dangling in the air at the mercy of this guy. For once, she could try and give him a bit of credit.

With a snort, he shoved the staff back at Silva. "Take it," he growled. "I'll try to remember about the grip if you try to remember to keep your hands off Bavaria and the rest of us."

Trinityblue
Bav rubbed her temple, walking up to where Brunswick was, placing a hand on his shoulder. She?d verbally thank him later. Right now, though, the steam of the moment was wearing off, but that didn?t mean she wasn?t still pissed.

But if this guy was this tough? then they would need to train under him. Some time or other. She?d have to see if Bruns would want to, since he was a physical fighter, like she was. Mun and Ber she?d have to talk later too, about the mess.

?Alright old man, you?ve proven yourself.? She told him in a matter of fact manner, her arms were again crossed. She still wasn?t going to fall under him like some kinda whipped puppy. She would find a way of making him pay for that, her purple eyes flashed with that promise. But for now- ?I?ll go back.?

Ice Queen
Silva nodded, looking serious for a moment as he accepted her submission. All in all, no one had been hurt, so he was pretty damn proud of himself. Not that he would let that show. "My name..." He started out slowly. He never usually gave his name. "Is Silva. My bond is Ice Queen." He looked at them all, his eyes lingering on Bav and Bruns.

"That's all you need to know." He finished, motioning to Bav as he took to the air. "Let's get you back to TB." He muttered. It would be a slow flight home, it seemed.

ShortGreen
Brunswick's mouth was still set in a sullen frown but he stepped closer to his sister, motioning the other two into the circle. "He's strong," he admitted. "Incredibly strong and he knows how to move, you know? We'll have to be careful of him." His purple gaze rested on Bavaria and then, with a flash, his cocky grin was back. "Tell us if he says anything on the way back, Beevee," he said, knowing full well that Bavaria would have done it even without his suggestion. She was just that good. "We'll all find a way to get in touch later, right? Be careful."

Trinityblue
Bav smirked back at him, nodding. ?You might not like my answer. I?ll get in touch with ya, as soon as I can.? She told them softly, glancing at each before turning to fly after the old man Silva.

The b*****d.

A Place to Call Her Own - Story
Players: Bavaria
----------------------------------------------

Bavaria needed a room, one that wasn't a shoe box like Munich's was. But what the hell was she going to use as a room? This place had pretty much nothing usable. It was clean, and straight, but dusty in some of the rooms. The living room and kitchen were fine, but the other rooms were still dusty as if unused and unthought-of for quite some time.

She fluttered through the house, looking around at things... Maybe that plotted plant in the corner? It would make a decent place. If she didn't find anything better. Besides, she didn't want to deal with being watered and she doubted the beaver-bed would be good muddy.

Then she blinked as she realized something. Her bonded was no where to be found. Odd. And she got pissed because Varia didn't tell when she left. Hypocrite. She gave a small snort before flying into another room and over to a light switch, flipping it on.

Once more, she blinked. A computer junk room? It looked like something out of a computer hacker like movie. There were wires and cables hanging around the place, along with old computer parts, CDs, hard disc, and other things that Varia was having difficulty naming at the moment. If a scrap heap wasn't a good place to find something to make her home, she didn't know what was.

********************

After about an hour's worth of work, Varia fianlly found what she was looking for. It was an old, cleaned out computer casing, with a plastic window frame on the side. If she got a bit of cloth, she could make a curtain. And it was big enough so that she could get the beaver-bed into it.

The hole on the side used to old a fan, but that was off now, leaving a good door way for her. Even if she had to duck to get in. She's just need to be a bit of straight metal and form it onto the plastic, on both sides, to use like a porch. That way it would be easier to get into. She would also need make other things into a table, even some chairs.

Yeah, this would do. She smirked and climbed out to get to work on what she needed to do. This was going to be a good room, a very good room indeed.

The Mini-Me Army
Players: Silva, Aleric, Nick, Nack, Soho, Marne, Brunswick, Galatea, & Bavaria (what a list!)
Compiled by ShortGreen ^^

-----------------------------------------------------

The sounds of Audioslave blared from the window. Workout was already in full swing on the hopechest, with Nick and Nack sparring on one side and Silva and Aleric staff fighting on the other. Soho was resting up for her training, even though she had been working on and off all morning. She sat in the window, watching for the others. She wanted to see them!

A jab here, a strike there, the sound of tapping was rythmically echoing the beat of the wild, throbbing music. Nick had gotten to choose today's workout music, and it showed.

Show me how to LIIIIVVVVEEEE!!

"Hey, who chose the music? This is bitchin'!"

The hopeful heir to sex, drugs and rock'n'roll landed next to Soho, dragging her Hello Kitty handkerchief behind her; it clunked, filled with the weights she had found and been using incessantly, which consisted of one pewter Garfield and one pewter Odie. Her arms, in fact, felt like they might fall off, but a couple of Maltesers and she was back in the game. Marne sat down next to Soho, with Garfield and Odie both clunking merrily on the sill.

"Me first, baby? How cool, I'm punctual!" As per usual, she caught Soho right on the mouth. "I was kind of hoping to be fashionably late, though. - Woo! Rock'n'roll!"

Marne's cry of triumph barely had time to fade before a familiar form appeared at the window sill, holding her own little fabric parcel. Galatea smiled shyly and, aware that she'd get a Look if she once more insisted on knocking to come in, she stepped over the edge and fluttered over to the hope chest. The package clutched in her small hands threw her flight off a bit and she wobbled drunkenly for a moment before landing heavily. She flushed and tried to set the package down without making noise. Then she gave the other juvie females a little bow. "Hello, Soho, Miss Marne," she offered. Almost immediately, though, her pink eyes skittered over to where the others were already engaged in training and an enraptured look came over her face.

Nick dodgeda punch, then tackled Nack to the ground, looking over at the females with a dare I say "Wolfish" grin. "Hey! Where's my hello kiss?" He called over to Marne. "I'm the one who's going to be working today!"

"Don't be an a**, Nick." Nack muttered, throwing the other male off of him.

"Hi Marne! Hi Gala!" Soho said happily. "Are you guys ready? I've been up since seven! This is going to be so fun!"

Silva and Aleric kept going. Not all the brats were there, so they were going to take advantage of the time they had left.

"You're all the way over there, Nicky!" Marne hollered, and - mindful of the other feien's delicate sensibilities - reached over to peck Galatea on the cheek. "Isn't this gonna be great?"

To her credit, Galatea didn't pull away at the kiss despite her sudden furious blush and she turned to smile again at Marne and Soho. "It's going to be very interesting," she agreed. "We're going to learn a lot and..." She paused and considered the other two girls. "You are going to have to be careful," she suddenly announced. "I don't want to see either of you get hurt."

"Took the words right out of my mouth, legs." An arm appeared around her shoulders and Brunswick grinned at the other girls. "Hey, gorgeous, beautiful."

Then he lost his breath as Galatea's elbow met his stomach in a powerful, instinctive motion backwards. As he doubled over, she seemed to realize what she had done and gasped, half-squeaking in horror. "Oh, no. Oh, nonono. I'm so sorry, Mr. Brunswick. I didn't... Oh, dear."

"Oh, no! Brunswick! Are you okay?" Soho asked, fluttering towards him. She stopped and glanced over her shoulder in irritation as three of the four males stopped their sparring to laugh at him.

Silva stopped first, walking over to Galatea with a wicked little grin pulling at his lips. "C'mon darlin. I think you're ready for Nick today." He said. Nick stood up straight, still grinning and squared his shoulders slightly. If he was going to go shirtless for a while he figured he might as well show off.

"C'mon, Gala! I won't even make you do the customary pre-spar kiss!" He called.

"Yeah, that's where he kisses my a** and asks that I don't hurt him too bad." Nack said quietly. Silva choked on another laugh, looking away.

Marne helpfully left Brunswick's side - having been opposite Soho and making sad feminine noises of elbow-pain that she didn't really mean at all because she thought Galatea elbowing him was hilarious - and waved her fist in the air. "What about me? I'm ready! Woo! I told Dee all about it and she said that I was going to give into violence! Then she said the word '********' like three times! I think she has a flu. Do I get Nack?"

Brunswick rewarded Soho's care with a lopsided smile and squeezed her hand. "Thanks," he muttered. "Damn, that girl packs a punch. Is she always so violent?" Then, before Marne could voyage fully away in her search for Greater Excitement, he deftly leaned over to press his cheek against her shoulder in a kittenish show of gratitude and then straightened up. He rubbed his stomach and the grin returned. "It's kind of cute. If you go in for that thing."

Ignoring the little tableau behind her, Galatea padded obediently over to Silva and the other boys, almost jogging in her excitement. Her eyes still looked a bit worried at her action, though, and, when she had reached them, she murmured to Silva, "I didn't mean to do that. I'm sorry."

Then she turned to Nick and took another few steps closer to him, bravely (especially for -her-) invading his personal space. Reaching up, she patted his shoulder in a sign for him to bend lower. "I don't want to break the customs of the house. It would be rude," she explained as she pressed a light kiss to his cheek, her own cheeks flaming.

Nick broke into a s**t eating grin, turning and brushing a kiss over her cheek, as well. "Can't have that!" He said, pulling away. "Start warming up and stretching, then we'll start."

"Darlin, if I had a problem with you hitting people I wouldn't be teaching you." Silva said, still smirking slightly until he turned. His eyes narrowed on Brunswick and Soho.

"You just surprised her." Soho said with a nod, pulling out of his grasp with a cheerful smile. "I don't think Gala is used to being touched."

"Soho, Marne, get over here. You need to start stretching as well. And sorry, darlin, but Brunswick gets Nack today." Silva said, pausing to say softly to Nack. "Teach the boy a lesson, would you?"

"Sure Boss. I'd be happy to." Nack replied as he put down his notes.

The redheaded feien had been giggling inappropriately at Brunswick's actions and already mentally planning on she and Soho asking him out to a movie later; however, Marne bounced over to the hope chest, leaning down to touch her toes, horn scraping one of her feet as she arched down.

"Does that mean I get you, Pop? Or Al?" She straightened up and tucked her arms behind her, stretching her lats. "You better watch out, I am totally pumped. I also watched a Tae Bo video. Or do Soho'n me get each other? Because I also watched Naked Girl Mud Wrestling until Mom changed the channel - "

"There's no mud," Brunswick pointed out with a sigh of sadness as he passed the stretching feien. "And it's really bad manners to muck up someone's place so don't use that evil little mind of yours to figure out a way to get it in here, okay?" Then he turned and focused a bright smile on Nack. "Hey, there." He held out his hand, cheerful as a lab puppy. "Please don't kill me. I think Silva would get too excited if you did and, after his talk the other day, we don't want the girls to see that."

Ducking an obedient bow at Nick, cheeks still pink, Galatea flowed into a surprisingly elaborate and thorough series of stretches. There was more than a touch of military precision to them - two guesses where she learned them. Aside from that point, though, the straddle split was downright impressive.

"I'll admit, I'm not as strong as Silva." Nack said with a calm little smile. "Then again, I don't have to be." He said. "Start stretching. Touch your toes first, then jog in place."

"Sorry darlin. You're not starting with sparring at all." Silva said. "If that punch the other day is an indicator you need to work on your strength. So weight training first, then I might set you up with a weapon."

"Laaaaaaaaaame," Marne pronounced, but cheerfully. She bobbed up and down on her feet before pulling one leg behind her to stretch it. "You'll be sorry when I show you my cool ninja moves, Pop. Do I get a gun? Do they make guns our size? Because I was thinking, Gally and Sohie and me could wear flares and call ourselves Silva's Angels."

Her stretching routine looked worryingly like an aerobics warm-up from the eighties, including hair-flinging, but at least she was enthusiastic about it. "Can I start now? I'm done!"

Galatea glanced over from where she stood, balanced on one leg with the other bent upwards behind her, hand at her ankle, and frowned a bit. After a moment, she managed a half-shrugg while still in position and then glanced over at Nick. Marne must be focusing on cardio warm-ups rather than loosening. "Mr. Nick?" she asked. "Am I loose enough yet?"

"Get your weights." Silva said. "You'll start with curls, then presses, and a set of crouches if you last long enough. I'll show you if you need it. And darlin... you're no angel."

Soho was stretching, sitting on her bottom with the soles of her feet touching and leaning forward so that her head rested on her feet. But... She let out a little snore. Seven was an awfully early time to wake up, after all!

Nick let out a low whistle at the expertise and beauty of her stretching. "I think this might actually get entertaining! And yeah, you should be fine." He said. He slipped into his starting position, waiting for her to follow suit. "You've done this before, right? So I don't have to explain stuff?"

Aleric very calmly headed for the weights area, nudging Soho awake and readying to be the spotter for the girls.

"I am so an angel," Marne argued sunnily, retrieved both Garfield and Odie and padded over to Aleric. (She had seen curls on TV, and started; they were inevitably a little violent and made her teeny-weeny biceps look in imminent danger of being flexed out of her arm wholesale, but hopefully Aleric would correct her before she ended up with two dead arms.)

Brunswick looked over from where he was (for once) being obedient and going through the warm-ups that Nack suggested. He grinned and, when he spoke, it was only the most tiniest bit breathless. "Of course, you're an angel, Marne," he called. "You're just a bit," he searched for the word, "tarnished around the edges."

Slipping into a complimentary fighting stance, Galatea almost glowed at the praise from Nick. "I have," she agreed, "in a way. I've never properly sparred against someone, though. I've shadow-boxed mostly and imitated the Captain's movements. Oh, and... Thank you." She flexed her hands, fingers curling in, then out, and smiled. "This is an honor, Mr. Nick."

"You need to smooth the motions out." Aleric said softly as he adjusted Marne's hold on her weights. "The whole point of curls is to use both bicep and tricep." He went on. "Here, I'll show you." With that he picked up one of the gigantic bolts lying on the chest and slowly did a curl, pointing out which muscle was related to which movement.

Soho bounced up and headed for her own weights, starting her little workout as well. She had already been shown this. She let out another little yawn halfway through her first curl and glanced briefly over at Brunswick.

Silva shook his head, then looked over at Nick and Gala. "Keep it fair, boy."

"I will, Boss!" Nick called back. "We'll start with taking turns. See how good your blocking is, as well as your attacking. And when I call out head, you aim for my head, got it? Or anywhere else I say. I'll do the same." Which was more formal than what they usually did, but she had never sparred properly, so it had to be done right.

Nack looked at the boy, a little irritated that he was stuck with this job, but knowing there was a reason. He was the most fragile looking of them all. Well, other than Soho, that was. And Silva wanted the boy to know that any and all of them could kick his a**. It was Silva's usual logic. So he picked up his notes again and started a quick chart.

"The Boss says you're slow." He said bluntly. "Is that your only weakness? Or should I work on your aim, too?"

Marne's tongue stuck out the side of her mouth as she obediently followed Aleric's movements, mimicking him, beaming as the movement urged muscles she hadn't been aware she'd had. "Neat!"

"I'm not that slow." Brunswick somehow managed to morph the impending scowl into yet another sunny smile. "My aim's not too shabby either. Just because your boss is a freak of nature. Bloody hell," yep, he has been living with Jack Bierce, "don't tell him I said it but the old b*****d is -tough-. Really tough."

Over beside Nick, Galatea nodded solemnly. "Alright," she agreed. "I'll do my best." A shy smile added to the hopeful expression on her face. "You're very good. I'll have to work hard to keep up."

But there was still one more feien who was going to arrive, even if she wasn?t expected. Bavaria landed on the open window seal, having found out where Ice lived, and she was intent on yelling at Silva for the other day.

The best laid plans never did seem to work for her. Instead of finding just those she was told of by Trin, there were more juvis around. Including Bruns. Well, that just saved her telling him to get trained by Silva to get better. He looked like he was about to get into a fight with the skunk boy, on his own accord.

She stood there, arms crossed and watching the scene. There went her yelling session?

Aleric smiled slightly. "Now, the next lift has you pulling your elbow back and the weight to your waist." He said, showing them that as well. "It emphasizes shoulder strength."

Soho was singing to herself as she worked, her sweet voice incredulous sounding with the rasping growl of the stereo. But she was happy. Although she was going to get tired pretty soon. In fact she was pretty tired already. So she only blinked as she caught sight of the blue and white female in the window.

"Um... yeah." Nick said with a wider grin. "I guess I am pretty good! But we'll work at it, you know? You'll be great by the time we're done with you!" He motioned. "Now aim for the head."

"It's probably good you realize that now." Nack said as he took his position. "Before you did something stupid, like challenge him to a fight." He threw a slow jab with his right fist to see how the boy reacted.

Silva looked over, fingering his toothpick and eyeing the latest arrival. "Well, darlin? You're not going to get anywhere if you just watch." He said in a casual invitation.

Marne's attention span skipped like a bad CD; she held up the weight to curl it to her forearm, but her head whipped around to see the new arrival in the window. "Hey! Who's she? She's cute! We redheads are hot!"

Closing her fist loosely, thumb on the outside, Galatea eyed Nick. She was too short; she would have to reach too high to aim for his head and the punch would lose considerable power. However, the head is what he said and she wanted to please him. Aiming carefully, she launched her fist at her sparring partner's head, loathe to put her entire weight into it and risk unbalancing herself.

Brunswick only barely managed to dodge Nack's swing since his attention had unfortunately been drawn to the window by Silva's announcement. So, while he avoided a thick ear, he also had the ignominous fortune to stumble as he tried to stabilize himself from his reaction. He didn't let it bother him, however, and raised a hand to wave at Bavaria. "Hey, BeeVee," he called. "Here to visit your new 'family'?" There was more than a little bit of annoyance put in the final word; he didn't see how Silva and that lot dared to claim his sister for their own.

?I came here to yell at the tall b*****d.? Bavaria announced, shrugging her shoulders lightly before flashing her brother a crooked grin. ?Least this saves me the trouble of telling you to get trained by him, Bruns.?

With that said, she took a step off of the ledge and flew down to where Silva stood and the others were gathered. As she did, she had to hold back a smirk on her face from what the other redhead said. It appealed to her ego.

Once she landed a good arm?s length away, she looked up at him, defiance still in her purple eyes. ?So, now what?? She asked him, her arms once more crossing over her chest.

Nick gently caught her fist, pulling it down and raising his free hand as a sign to pause. "Sorry, guess I'm too used to Nack. We'll aim lower next time." He said as he let go of her hand. He didn't think a thing about touching her, touching was a way of life in his world.

"BeeVee?" Soho asked, putting her weights down. "Hi! My name's Soho!" She said as she crossed over to the other female. "Are you my cousin?"

"That she is, darlin." Silva said, glancing over to Aleric who nodded and headed over as well. "Aleric, Soho, this is our new family member."

"A pleasure to meet you, Bavaria." Aleric said with a slight bow. Then he looked over at Marne. "Maybe we should take a break?" He offered. "So we can meet our newest friend."

Nack jotted down a few more notes, once again noting that Brunswick needed to work on his speed.

"Good idea," Marne agreed with Aleric, and Odie and Garfield were quickly dumped. She flitted along behind Soho, arms clasped behind her back as she inspected Bavaria. "Hey, I want to be cousins too! At least cousins in-law!"

"No way," muttered Brunswick under his breath as he padded over to his sister. "Let's not go there with the cousins." Louder, though, he laughed and shrugged. "Ladies, this is Bavaria," he offered. "My sister." He winked at Soho and Marne. "Only -I- get to call her BeeVee, though. Right?"

Galatea turned to better look at the new arrival and bit down on her lip at Brunswick's announcement. His sister. Could that mean that she..? She looked back at Nick as if waiting for his cue. She had no real interest in mingling with new faces. She was just getting comfortable with her new friends.

Aleric?s more proper greeting started Bavaria, making her nearly jump. But for her sake, she held it back and simply looked at him, not knowing how to react.

Luckily for her, she didn?t have too. Bruns? socially saved her as he walked over, introducing her to them. Obviously he?d met these ones while she had been more-or-less locked up in her bonded?s home. She rolled her eyes: ?Yes Bruns, only you can call me by that name.? God she hated that nick name, that?s why only he and her other brother and sister could get away with it.

Then she looked around at the others, the little, non-feien?s who were off to the side, and the juveniles that were around her, studying them briefly. ??Ello Soho, Red.? She said easily, smirking at them and holding out her hand in greeting.

?And Aleric, course.? She added, glancing at the tall, purple one. Least she guessed that he was Aleric that Silva had called for; he did come with the young girl at that moment.

"So you ARE my cousin!" Soho said cheerfully, taking the offered hand, then drawing the other feien into a quick hug. "That means we can talk and play and go on vacations together! It'll be fun!" She said as she pulled back, keeping a hold of the hand with both of hers. Bad attitude she could handle, hot brother... oooh, ths was going to be fun!

Silva's eyes were on Brunswick. And when Aleric moved closer he glanced over, raising an eyebrow.

"They don't seem to take family lightly." Aleric said softly as he read the emotions in the room. "He doesn't like our claim on her."

"He'll have to deal with it. This is my territory." Silva said calmly. "If she wants domination it's damn well going to be under my control."

Aleric blinked. "So you'll let her have some control?" Their voices were soft, almost imperceptable. But if you were listening closely you could hear.

"Hell, why not? Might be entertaining. But she'll have to earn it." Silva said, warming up to the idea quickly. "Every little piece of it she'll have to fight for. Not that there's much to control on Gaia. And when she runs into some of the other feien, she'll be grateful I'm here."

"Averno... and Sunil?"

"To name a few." A tiny grin pulled at his lips at that thought. Averno being dangerous. Yeah, that was amusing. For him, that was.

Nick looked over at the hesitating Gala, wondering why she hadn't moved forward. The reason he and Nack hadn't was obvious. They weren't feien. And as non-feien they kept to the background unless the feien wanted to talk to them. Was it a matter of class? Well it didn't really matter, since they were Silva's underlings. His "boys." But the wolf boy leaned over, whispering. "You okay? Seems to me you should take a break when you get the chance. Silva doesn't give them easily."

"Hooray! Hot sister!" Marne had cheered, and before Bavaria could escape or murder the other redhead in the attempt, Marne had leant in after Soho and kissed Bavaria squarely on the lips. "I'm your cousin in-law! That's because Sohie and I are engaged. Do you have any other hot brothers? Because Brun wouldn't tell me, though I kind of suspected. Bitchin'! This is gonna be so much fun!"

Brunswick shrugged negligently at Marne's repeated complaint. His grin was wide and wicked, though. "Of course I keep refusing to tell her," he explained to Bavaria. "Why would I want to share her or Soho with Berlin? You would think she'd be flattered that I wanted to keep her all to myself, huh?"

Starting at Nick's quiet concern, Galatea offered him a wan smile and boldly reached out to touch her hand to his briefly. "I am fine, thank you," she murmured. "Not at all tired yet." She hesitated and her eyes flicked back to Brunswick and Bavaria for a moment. The expression on her face was painfully easy to read; she had no particular skills in lying. Nervousness, reticience, discomfort, wariness.

Very very forward people. Cousins-in-law? That idea alone was starting to worry Bav. Casually she wipped her lips lightly from that kiss and regained herself once again. Then she glanced at Bruns.

"For a guy who wants to keep it a seceret that you have a brother, you sure gave that away, Brun." She said, lifting a brow. "We also have another sister named Munich." She added, looking back at the two females.

It urked her. She knew Silva and Aleric were talking about something, she just couldn't tell what with everything else going on. And if she tired to pay attention to every converstation, it would give her a headache.

Nick nodded at the look and glanced over at Silva. "Oye, Boss! Can we go back to work now?"

Silva blinked and glanced over. "Think that's the first time I've ever heard you ask something like that, Nick! You feelin ok?"

"Might be!" Nick said with a grin. "But I'm asking anyway!"

"Then fine. Get back to work, brats. You can talk to Bavaria when it's not on MY time." He said.

"Awww." Soho pouted. Then she tugged on Bav's hand. "Come work out with us! We're lifting weights, right, Marne?"

"Uh-huh! We're pumpin' iron!" Marne grasped hold of Bavaria's other hand; she was bookshelved on either side by large amounts of girlish peppy. "Come do it with us, we can talk as we do curls and stuff, it's so boring just doing it by yourself. I so knew Brunswick had a hot brother! And a hot sister, too! Well, two. Maybe we can all double-date. Once we've stopped training. Except I hope I don't get huge gross muscles from this. I mean, I'm sure I won't, Pop Silv's pretty skinny, isn't he? Come on!"

Galatea rewarded Nick with a nearly angelic smile, adding in a bow as she moved to his other side, into a new position (that just so happened to be the opposite direction from the weight-lifters). She tried not to wonder why Brunswick had not yet seemed to recognize her even as she wondered why he would ever choose to leave Dr. Beckham. He must have been dangerous or something. "Thank you, Mr. Nick. You are very... Wonderful."

Bav was being dragged away by hyper-peppy-fifi-cheerleaders-would-bes and there wasn't too much of anything she could do about it either. This wasn't her place, it was that bastards.

But that didn't mean she couldn't try.

"Er, well... I need to work on my speed more than my strength. Bruns-boy and I are equial on that matter." She commented, having a slightly worried look on her face.

Silva spoke then. "That's right, girls. Let her go, she'll be working on her speed." Silva saidl. Reluctantly Soho dropped Bav's hand, pouting at Silva.

"But Mister Silva Demon!!" She whined.

"Not now, darlin. Bav's got some running to do."

Aleric paused. "Not sparring?"

"Not sparring."

Nick flushed. "Nah. I'm just alright." He told Gala as he took his fighting position again. "It's hard to reach wonderful in this house. You keep getting beat for position."

"Pop is a party pooper," Marne muttered darkly - and still, cheerfully, which was deeply worrying - but dropped Bav's hand, equally reluctantly; she made a face at Soho which involved rolling her eyes and sticking her tongue out, but loped back to Aleric. She picked up her weights again and continued her curls, straining with her biceps and trying as hard as she possibly could. She would have horrifically sore muscles the next day.

"Sii-iilv," she called out, rather plaintively. "Can't we all do something fun together after if we work really hard? Like bulrush? Or Capture the Flag? Or giving Nick and Nack a makeover? I bet they'd look bitchin' in pink suede, okay, that's just my little joke, they'd look totally gay in pink suede."

"I think they would look nice in blue," Galatea ventured shyly. Then she flushed, crookedly smiling at Marne as if apologizing for contradicting her. Even if she hadn't really done so. Then she gave the inside of her wrist a rub and turned back to face Nick. "Where should I aim now?"

Brunswick bit back a snicker at the thought of the animal boys in pink. He patted Bavaria on the shoulder then before returning to his spot opposite Nack. "This is what the old man has me doing, BeeVee," he explained. "This is Nack and I'm supposed to try and knock him down. Wish me luck?"

?If the old man trained him, you?re going to need it, Bro.? Bav smirked, watching her brother run back to the skunk boy. Then she looked back up to Silva, going straight faced. ?Running? Got it. Round the chest, round the room or what?? She asked, mentally preparing for it. After she found out, she?d do some warm up stretches. The time with Fleet did teach her some things. Even if she wouldn?t admit to it proudly.

Silva looked thoughtful, then glanced out the window. It was still brighter outside than he liked, but he could deal with it. "Ever play tag?" He asked casually. Then he looked over at Gala.

"Darlin, if you and Brunswick manage to last... oh... five minutes against the boys without falling on your a**, you can join us. Soho, Marne, get your next two sets of reps in, and come on out as well."

"Woohoo! I love you, Pop! Thanks!" Happily, Marne went back to her curls, sticking her tongue out and crossing her eyes a little as she pulled the weights inward. She was not going to miss out on any kind of fun. "C'mon, Sohie, last one's a rotten egg."

Galatea immediately straightened and, for a moment, it seemed as if she were going to salute Silva. She checked herself before her hand could do more than twitch, though, and she smiled instead. She had a feeling that Silva would not approve of her saluting him. "Yes, Mr. Silva," she answered. "I'll do my best."

"Gotcha," Brunswick called out cheerfully. "I'll see you in five, BeeVee." He hoped.

"You'd better, Brun." Bavaria called back with a smirk, then looked up at Silva with a raised brow. "Tag, huh? Alright. Who's it?" She then asked, having a sicking feeling.

Maybe he wasn't as bad as he first appeared to be, or maybe that was because of the one called Soho. His bond daughter? That just caused more odd thoughts to enter her head involving the purple one. Ones by which she wasn't going to dare bring forward in her mind right now.

"You are. We'll stick to the back yard." Silva said, right before he disappeared out the window.

Nack looked at Brunswick, inwardly sighing. Then he assumed his fighting stance, ready to attack the moment the boy turned his attention to him again. Then he cleared his throat. "Ready?"

Nick smiled, moving slowly into his own position. "Then let's get this over with!" He announced with a grin. "I'll try not to keep you... too long."

Soho was panting slightly, not sure she would last through a game of tag. She was better than she used to be, but still...

"Ten more to go, Soho." Aleric said softly. She nodded.

Marne, on the other hand, still seemed to be in fine shape; she had a far better aptitude for suffering, possibly having had it replace common sense or human decency. She huffed, trying to hurry up the reps - narrowly missing injuring herself in the process, and soon to find the next morning that her arms were floppy and Sad. "C'mon, Soho," she encouraged. "You can do it easy."

Brunswick spun on a heel and gave Nack a bright, sunshiney grin. "Okay, man," he said. "Let's go for this. I'll get back up when you knock me down, okay? Deal." Then, with a soft mutter under his breath - this was going to suck so much - he took a swing.

Meanwhile, Galatea was moving into the first steps of the fight with Nick, cautious and solemn-faced. Her eyes shone with excitement, though, and her movements shivered with contained energy. "Yes, sir," she agreed. "But, please, don't humor me or I won't learn anything."

?b*****d?? Bavaria muttered before taking to the air and following him. She took another glance at those who didn?t decide to come forward and figured she?s get to talk to them later on. Right now, she had to go chase the old man around the yard.

And not get close to catching him, also.

Nick and Nack looked at each other, nodding silently. They would make sure the kids lasted five minutes before they got knocked down. They wanted to play tag, too!

"And done!" Aleric said five minutes later as Soho fell over. "Let's go, girls." He picked Soho up as they all headed out the window.

Easter at Ice's
Players: Silva, Aleric, Nick, Nack, Soho, Bavaria, Walter & Oblivion, Ice, Trin (and anyone else I missed)
Compiled by Icey

-----------------------------------------------------

"Easter!!" Soho shouted as she flitted around the house. All the windows were shuttered in the back half of the house. And she was on strict orders not to peek out back while Ice and the others hid the eggs. "Eastereastereaster!! CANDY!!"

"Sounds like someone already got into the bag." Silva drawled as he lazed on the couch. He didn't like candy that much. And the idea of searching through the grass for those tiny foil covered chocolate eggs struck him as stupid.

And what was worse, he thought as he glanced down at Oblivion and Walter. Was that they'd be dodging the brat and his monster. Metal eggs... who in the hell got ahold of metal eggs?

"We're ready!" Ice called as she opened the back door. Soho flew past her before the "dy" part of the statement was past her lips.

"Why are we doing this again?" Bavaria asked from where she was perched on her bonded's shoulder.

"Because you're just going to have to get used to your cousins, and because I want to see Walter!" Trin answered, for the fifth time since they started the walk here. "And it's Easter."

"Yeah, so?"

"Don't you want to go hunt for chocolate Easter eggs?" Trin asked patiently. She had already had to drag her Feien here from the building of a Feien sized gym. It was something about needed to get better in order to keep up, and out do that 'b*****d Silva'.

"No, not really." Bav answered, giving a small shrug as they came up to the Ice's house.

"I take it they didn't have much of an Easter in the Fleet." Trin muttered. "Now, cover your ears. HEY ICEY!!!" Trin called around back, not even going to bother with the front door. "We're heeerre!"

"WE'RE IN BACK!!" Ice shouted back. She was showing Walter and Oblivion the eggs, then pointing to the yard. "There's more of those! Go find them!"

And then she watching in amusement as Walter climbed onto Oblivion's back, tapping his little heels into her side and wheeled off to find his eggs. Maybe they were edible! Oblivion's were!

Silva muttered something dark, heading out to the back slowly as Aleric passed him with a little smile. Nick and Nack raced out as well. They loved chocolate!

"How could I have ever figured?" Trin muttered, grinning as she headed for the back. "Looks like you made it in time to hunt for the Egg, Varia."

"Oh goody." The Feien muttered and flew off her shoulder, hovering in the air to watch Soho and the others. They seemed to know what they were doing. And Silva didn't look like he was enjoying this.

Trin, on the other hand, went to join her sister. "Soho looks happy about this." She said.

"It's probably one of the most dangerous things I've ever done." Ice said, almost seriously. "But it makes her happy."

"Found one!" Nick shouted.

"Me too! Me too!" Soho said, taking a pause to sit on her small pile of eggs.

Aleric slowly made his way to Ice and TB, glancing at Bav. "Would you care to join us?" He asked. "I'm afraid I'm not very good at this sort of thing."

And Silva dropped down on the chair, closed his eyes and made ready for a nap.

Bav stayed in the air amoment longer before coming down closer to Aleric. "So, the object of this is to find the shiny eggs, huh?" She asked, looking around. It couldn't be that hard. The foil glinded in the light, after all.

"The sugar highs will rule your house, and you know it." Trin snickered.

"They already do." Ice said with a shrug. "You should have seen Nick and Nack last Halloween. They have a habit of stealing little kid's candy bags. But I SWEAR Silva helps them!"

"It is. There's chocolate under the wrapper and whatever you find you get to eat." Aleric explained with a slight smile. "Or trade, as Nick and Nack seem so fond of. They come in different types, milk, crunchy, and butterfinger."

"Found another!!" Soho shouted.

"Queen of the chocolate hill.." Bav drawled looking at Soho, then shook her head and looked up at Aleric. "And you say you're bad at this? Or does everyone just beat you to them?"

"Well, I'm going to have to deal with that, if Varia decides she likes chocolate. She hasn't tried it yet, that I know of, and I still need to find out what she likes and doesn't like." TB said, then remembered the basket she had. There were bits of metal on one side, candy coated mault eggs on the other, and five smaller baskets with smaller candies in them. She held it up. "Oh, and I brought this, too."

"You're out to torture me, aren't you?" Ice drawled. She pointed to the little boy riding happily on his beleagured looking Daemon's back. "That's Walter and Oblivion over there. I'd introduce you, but, well... they're kind of busy right now."

She almost winced as Oblivion swallowed a metal egg whole. "Chew your food, Oblivion!!" She shouted, knowing the Daemon wouldn't listen.

"I'm afraid I'm not quite as... enthusiastic about chocolate." Aleric replied, still smiling. "But it's very good."

Silva rolled over and snored.

"Well, let's find some anyway." Bav said and took to the air to get a better view. She wanted to see what Soho was so hyped about and if it was good for bartering, then all the better.

Ok, Aleric wasn't as scarring as he first came off. The whole polite thing really threw her off, however.

"That's what sisters are for, Icey. Gotta have someone in like to torture. " Trin said, grinnging as she ducked inside the house to put the baskets away. Out of Oblivion's reach, she hoped.

"I had to put wooden slats in front of the metal chainlink fence." Ice said casually. "She's already ate at least three of my hammers, an allen wrench set, and a couple of socket wrenches." She went on. A tiny little smirk pulled at her lips.

"But there's something I need to talk to you about." She added, turning serious as she looked over at her sister. "And it's not... very good news."

Aleric nodded and headed towards the grass, motioning the juvenile to follow. She didn't trust him. That was... difficult to fix. But he would give her time.

"Found another!" Nack called.

"Yeah? Well I found TWO!" Nick shouted back.

Bav followed him before a glint caught her eye and she shot though the air for it. One foil wrapped egg, nestled in grass. "Ha! Got one!" She declaired happily, giving a crooked grin to purple male.

Then she joined him, holding up the egg proudly. It was her first, after all. And she was starting to feel left out with all their shouting!

Trin blinked at her sister. "What's wrong?" She asked as the happy smile dropped off her face. She just hoped she didn't have to babysit Walter and Oblivion any time soon. Her shop would be a feast for the Oblivion.

"Did I ever tell you about my boyfri--er... Ex boyfriend?" Ice asked, easing her way into the subject, even though she didn't want to bring it up at all. "His name is Shade. He's... he's like me, you know? With the tail and the face markings. An Ancient." She paused again, looking out over the grass, as if she didn't want to go on.

"Bavaria!!" Soho shouted. "Good job! You found one!" She had two in her arms at the time.

Aleric smiled. "Very good job!"

Bav rolled her eyes at the praise, but her grin didn't drop. "Now, to find more." She said, keeping the egg in her arms. They needed more if Aleric was going to get anything, and she wasn't about to share her's.

If she was paying more attention to these thoughts, she would have jerked. Sharing and wanting to help the 'new' family? Already? Trin was really starting to get to her.

"Yeah.. you told me of him once. Like, when you started cursing him out in different languages after you broke up with him." Trin said and leaned against the door frame. There were things about Shade that she didn't know. Like why they broke up and.. well, everything other than he was like her sister.

"He's... He's a pervert, and a drunk, and goofy, and--" She stopped, sighing and pushing at her hair. "He's also really, really dangerous. TB... he's an assassain." She finally admitted, not daring to look at her sister. "He works for a really old, and dangerous woman named Kori. And he kills the people that try to mess with her business empire. Or if someone pays enough... People that try to mess with theirs."

"My pile is larger." Nick boasted, sitting on his rather large *for him* pile.

"Like hell!" Nack shouted from his own pile.

"It is!"

"Count!"

Soho squeed as she caught sight of a whole stockpile of eggs all together... then spent the next ten minutes trying to figure out how she could carry them all at once. They kept falling when she went over three.

Bav had six of them, three in each pile since Aleric was helping. She was used to even traied among the Pack when things went well and that was traslating over to this.

Did it matter that the others had more than she? Hell yes. But the knew what the hell they were doing. She didn't.

"You dated.. an assasian?" Trin asked slowly, looking at her sister. "Well, that explains alot! That's why you never much talked about him after your great vent after the break up." She said, trying to remember what they had done to 'celebrate' then deciding it was best not too know.

"I didn't know he WAS at the time!" Ice hissed. She crossed her arms over her chest, looking vaguely uncomfortable. "And when I found out by accident--" Accident being she had found another woman's name and address on a scrawled note in his room, only to find out he wasn't cheating... just killing...

It really didn't pay to be a snoop. "But there's more." She said reluctantly. "See... he has a job on Gaia."

Reluctantly Soho took them two at a time, knowing it was the only logical method, but at the same time it was inviting others to steal her legitimate booty! It was so wrong!

Aleric picked up another egg, heading for the piles that Bav was building and putting it down next to one. Why she had two piles, he wasn't certain. Perhaps she wanted to share with her brothers and sisters!

Bavaria zipped back to the piles, having narrowly advoiced a large bumble bee that was around a potted flower that she had scavanged her egg from. She didn't like bees.

That egg Aleric had dropped, she stuck into one pile, when she stuck the one she held in another, not about to explain what she was doing. Then she fluttered off to find more. Though the others seemed about done as it was.

Trin had this sinking feeling as she listened to Ice tell her all the lovely details she had missed. "Don't tell me he's after you, now? To kill you?" She asked in an emotionless tone. If that was so, they were going to do something. Anything...

"No..." She said. "If anything, I think he still... loves me." She couldn't look at her sister. It was hard enough as it was. "He's... he's after you, TB. You've made some big companies really angry with your cheaper prices and better quality."

"I'm so... tired!" Soho exclaimed as she finished up her WAY too big pile and draped herself on top of it. "All mine!"

Nick and Nack were rolling on the ground, fighting to the death over whose pile was bigger, since Nick disliked counting.

Only Aleric picked up on the mood, slowly moving closer to the humanoids.

"There has to be more..." Bav muttered, still searching for more of the foiled eggs while the others were happily sitting on their piles.

Trin paled sligthly, staring at her sisted. Ok, April Fool's had already passed, so that couldn't possibly be it. She blinked again. "So... because I'm better... they want me dead...?" She asked finally. "Why not just offer me a job?!"

"I don't know." Ice said, taking a ragged breath. "I don't know why they don't just hire you, I don't know how I can stop him, either. I sent him to another planet, but he's got the same abilities as I do... but more. He'll be back as soon as... actually, I'm not sure why he's not here already. He probably got distracted, the dumbass..."

Aleric stayed silent from where he was eavesdropping, his heart pounding heavily against his chest. That's why she had stopped Silva...

Soho sighed and started unwrapping one egg, licking the chocolate as it was uncovered. This was heaven...

"Give!"

"Never!"

"GIVE!"

"MY PILE IS BIGGER!!"

Varia choked on a laugh at the two fighting as she headed for the piles. Well, no more so it was time to find out what the big fuss was about. She picked up one of the eggs and started to unwarp it.

This was way Trin didn't like dealing with alot of people. They thought and did stupid things like this. She had already out lived many competing companies even before this. She sighed, moving to her sister and giving her a supportive hug. Both for herself and Ice. "I think I'm in shock." She muttered. "The whole idea that someone is out to kill me hasn't sunk in."

"But what would Shade do if he found out we were sisters?" TB asked. "I mean, if he still loves you, then--"

"What do you want me to do, TB?" Ice asked. "Take him back? He's a killer. I can't love a killer. I don't want to love a killer! I don't..." She sighed, looking down. "I don't know, ok? I just don't know. Maybe it would stop him. But maybe it won't. He's very serious about his job. The only thing he IS serious about."

Aleric felt numb. There was nothing he, as a fairy and a short lived creature, could do about something like Shade. At least... not that he could think of at the moment. But he would.

He had to.

"Take him back? No way!" Trin said, more startled and about to laugh dispite the situation. "He's a perv, and a jerk, and other stuff. And he wants to kill me!" She said the last part soflty, knowing the little ones were around.

"What I meant was, if he still loves you, maybe, this once, he wont?" She said, trying to sound hopeful. If he was that serious in his job, he would have already approched her.

That was... If he could find her.

"Maybe. But it would also give him hope if I begged." Ice said. "And trust me, begging is the only way I could get that hardheaded jerk to listen!"

Soho looked down at her chocolate covered, empty hands. And licked.

Trin rolled her eyes at this and folded her arms over her stomach. Well, Ice had been a little cheared up now with that idea. But... someone like Ice was out to kill her? That was the last thing she wanted. Seriously it was. Ice got scarry enough at times. Her fluffy tail gave a little shiver as it all started to sink in.

Great.

Bav was oblivious to all of this as she munched away on her egg, finishing it off. It was just a little too much chocolate for her liking... but it was good! Now, where was that purple one? He was missing out.

Aleric took a deep breath, then stilled himself. He would fix things. One way or another. With that thought he headed back towards Bavaria, pasting a half smile on his face.

And Silva grunted in his sleep.

"Your chocolate egg things are there." Bav said and pointed at the other, untouched pile next to the one she was sitting by. There was another egg in her hand as she debated eating it, too. "I couldn't find any more of them."

"Oh, um... thank you." He said softly, sitting down next to the pile and reaching for one.

Bav gave him an odd look. Something was bothering him. His voice had lost it's happy-politness, but she wasn't one to ask. After all, she had done her nice 'family' thing and split the eggs with him.

On that note, she reached for another egg to eat. Maybe it would be one of those butterfinger ones.

Trin's Journal Entry #1
Players: Trin's thoughts

-----------------------------------------------------

Well, I had to almost literally drag Bavaria to my sister's house for her Easter celebration, but things turned out alright with that. Varia actually went Easter Egg hunting. I think it was the fact that there was a small challenge of who could get the most eggs that had her into the idea.

Though, she was helping Aleric and she did split up her pile of eggs into two. And I did see Aleric eating from one of them. That could be something in her personality from being a pack leader. Equality among a group. If so, then that means she's starting to adjust to this whole change.

Good.

I should really find out who the other bonds are so that I can take her visiting. And know where to look if she goes off to see them again. It would lower some stress. And Stars know, I could use a little less stress.

While I was at Ice's, she told me more about her ex-boyfriend. The jerk. He's turned out to be an assassin and that's why she broke up him. Not because he was cheating on her. But his next mark is me. Joy.

I think I'm taking it alot better than Ice did. In truth, I'm not afraid of death, but I'm not in a hurry to die either. I'm not about to roll over and just let that jerk kill me! Her hurt Icey!

Looks like I'm going to get some use out of those Hurt-Bots I made. Course I based them after Gina Digger's creation in a comic I enjoy, called Gold Digger. I'm still working on the AI. I got a basic going that seems to work well, but I'm going to need to do more work if they?re going to be battle ready. I don't know how powerful Shade (the @ss) is. But if he's of Icey's race... then I got alot on my hands.

Especially with knowing so little magic compared to the rest of my people. And I really really don't want to call in any guards. They are the LAST thing I need around. Especially with how I've settled into this whole 'normal' life thing. I like it.

Though it's going to get a bit boring in another hundred years.

.... I'm also going to have to tell Varia about Shade, and about what I do. Though she might enjoy helping me, which is what I had hoped for when I went for a Feien. She has her own building streak. I've seen the room she's made for herself, using an old computer case. And she was building her own gym out of some scrap parts...

I wonder if she'll let me bring it into my room.

Wait, I'm getting distracted again, aren't I? First I have to tell her about Shade. If he does kill me, then she dies as well, something I know she won't be happy with. Who would? It's just bothersome that I dragged her into this mess.

Why are people so greedy?

Truths and Jobs - Story
Players: Trinityblue & Bavaria
------------------------------------

"Varia--"

"Bav!"

"... Varia."

"If you're going to shorten my name, it's 'Bav', not this 'Varia' crap." The little mouthy Feien said, just before biting into another blueberry. Her bond was making her try different foods to find out what she liked. This time it was fruits, and she was surrounded by samples of bananas, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, and so on.

So far she was favoring the blueberries, though they tended to stain her hands a purple color.

TB gave a small sigh. "Whatever. You still respond to it--"

"How can I not?" Bav muttered, taking another bit out of the fruit.

"--But we need to have a talk." Trin went on, ignoring that last question. The cloth winged feien looked up at her, food still in her mouth. Was this the part where the bond went 'you're nice, but I don't want you any more?' or where she was going to lay down some big rules on her? Either way, it would be a pain.

"While you were busy getting eggs with your cousins, Ice told me something important. It involves me, and since you're bonded to me, it's going to wind up affecting you as well." Trin went on, seeing that she had Bav's full attention.

"We moving...?" Bav asked, lifting a brow. "Or are you having to join the Fleet," God she hoped not, "Or--"

"I have a price on my head, actually." The Teiru said bluntly, then waited. In all truth, she still didn't know what to make of it. But if she died, then Bav would be in serious danger, even her own death. Feien lived short enough as it was.

Bav just looked up at her in a dumbfounded manner, purple juice around her mouth and a berry in her hands. "What the hell do you do to get an bounty on your head?!" She asked suddenly. Trinityblue actually did something dangerous? But... she was so boring! What in the world did a boring person do to have something like that happen?

"Er, well... I'm an inventor of sorts. I build and make things for other people, and usually I make things for cheaper than other big business want me too. And those big businesses don't like it, apparently." Trin said, shrugging slightly. Really, the whole thing was stupid. Kill her just because she built things?

"So you got a price on you head for it?" Bav asked, getting to her feet and finishing off the berry. "I wanna see what you make." She said, trying to hold down her excitement down. That was the last thing she wanted to show right now.

Her bond was more than she had thought!
*******************

After a somewhat quick wash-up to get the blueberry juice off, Bavarai was perched on her bond's shoulder, being taken down on of the halls of the house. She was being taken to the workshop, where she guessed Trin vanished too all those times she hadn't been in the house. No wonder she didn't bother to tell her.

Then how did she get into the work shop? Maybe there was a secret wall or door way with a panel and if someone unknown entered, they'd have a thousand guns pointed at them! Maybe--

Trin opened one of the closet doors and stepped in, shutting them into darkness without a word.

"This... is it?" Bav asked, rather startled by the lameness of it. "can't you think of something more original for this... entrance into a secret lab?!"

"It was the first thing I thought of!" She responded, flushing slightly and grateful that it was dark in the closet. Then she tapped a space in the wall and the floor started to sink, though it was still dark in the closet. Once it came to a stop, she opened a new door to a metal hallway.

Bav looked around the hall, lifting a brow slightly. It was still boring. Maybe Trin was really quiet boring and if she went diving into the bedroom closet, she might find a pocket protector in it.

Or another entrance to the workshop.

But her bond went for another, larger, more impressive looking door and typed one a panel that was to the right of it. This time the door opened with a more impressive flair. It gave a hiss before the four, thick metal panels parted and moved into the walls, ceiling and floor. Trin then proceeded to flip on the lights and different sections started to show themselves.

The workshop was huge. It was similar to a large, underground warehouse. Filled with all kinds of mechanical mayhaps, some of which were grouped up into sections. Above those sections were little signs that marked what was in those sections or rows. Some of which had large tarps covering them.

It was then that Bav noticed flickering holo-screens of computers. Something she had see in one of the Fleet offices once. There were also robots lined up against a wall, looking as though they had stepped out of some sci-fi movie.

There were also misplaced looking items, like a toaster and a coffee machine on a table. What they were for, she didn't much want to know. Right now.

"So, this is where I work." Trin's voice cut in after a moment. "What do you think?"

". . . How the hell did you get this kinda tech? I've only seen it in the Fleet.." Bav muttered with a hint of awe in her voice. "Do those robots really work?"

"Yeah, they do actually. I even have my own AI program in the works. It's not all that good yet." Trin said, walking into the room, intent on giving her new family member the tour. "In truth, part of the reason I wanted to take care of a Feien is because I needed some help in my shop. You're a lot more than I expect you to be... but you do show signs that you like to build things."

Bav jerked, looking at the side of her bond's face. TB was referring to her room and she knew it. She almost looked guilty for this matter. Her forming and mending ability tended to come in handy when the Pack was up to something. Like sabotaging the Fleet coffee machine.

"So, are you up for the job in helping me?" Trin asked after a moment of silence. Bav was being quiet on the matter and that worried her. But if Varia didn't want too, it wouldn't be that big of a deal. She had been doing this for years before on her own, after all.

Bav remained quiet, holding lightly onto Trin's velvet cat-like ear. Then she shrugged. "Yeah, sure. I'll see what it'll involve and what it is you want me to do." She agreed, smirking as she looked at one of the robots. There was a small welling of something forming in her. Trin was boring, but she was starting to work out as a better bond than her last.

Coming to Gaia had been the right thing to do. A very right thing to do.

Bavaria's Journal Entry #1
Players: Bav's mind
-----------------------------------------------------

I think I'm going to take back all those things I said about my bond. Well... maybe. She's still a little on the dull side, but she's also this... mad scientist type! Or crazy inventor. Take your pick.

That boring old normal house she has is dusty for a reason. I found out that she spends the vast majority of her time in the secret, underground, lab, creating wild machines and toasters that attack people with toast! And she wants me to help her with these inventions. Said that my forming and mending spells would work out great.

But she's also got this problem, and it's not a little one either. Seems there's some kinda killer after her, cuz she invents things too good. And not cashing in properly. (See? Boring! She changes less than she should, for crying out loud!)

So, I'm got some ideas she needs to start doing. Like a mega-gun security in the hall to her lab. If it don't know them, they got a few seconds before 'BOOM!'. They're crispier than that toast the toaster shoots out.

Course I'll have a recording of who's all allowed in. I don't wanna be crispy.

And I don't wanna get the Fleet involved in this either. They get into enough as it is.

Merry Meetings
Players: Jack, Brunswick, Trinityblue, Bavaria
Re-Compiled by ShortGreen

-------------------------------------------

"Are you sure you got this guy's address?" Bavaria asked, perched on her bond's shoulder, looking down at a little scrap of paper.

"Yes. Well, I hope so anyway. You told me who Brunswick's bond was and I did a little research." Trinityblue said, standing in the middle of her living room. Bav had wanted to go and see her other family, and Trin was curious about the bonds of others. Especially those that Bav would more than likely be going to see.

And Jack seemed to live in the middle of no where. Better to do it the way she was, rather than get lost. And TB was good at getting lost.

"Ok, so, why don't we just walk there? Or drive there?" Bav continued, not liking the idea her bond had suggested. A teleportation spell. Yeah, her bond seemed to be magic, and an techy, but she favored the techy side more than the magic. That was spelling trouble to the Feien.

"Well, I need to work on the spell anyway. Now is as good a time as any." Trin answered, trying to sound sure of herself. On the inside, she was hoping beyond hope that she'd actually make it to the front steps of the man's house and not at the bottom of the sea.

Taking a breath, Trin held out a hand, two fingers into the air and the others folded, and closed her eyes. Then she recited the spell of her people as a small, glowing circle formed around her hand. Bav watched silently until the light became blinding as they vanished from the living room.

*

Brunswick sat on the towel rod and tilted his head as he watched his bond go through his biweekly shaving ritual. He had already decided that biweekly was not nearly enough, judging by the rakish five o'clock shadow that Jack almost perpetually sported, but he figured that there was a secret reason to it. He suspected that Jack was more of an image-concious fashion-victim than he let on.

If he had asked, of course, Jack would have blinked at his little feien and answered simply - It takes too much bloody time to shave every day an' who am I goin' to rub wrong with this face? Since Brunswick hadn't asked, though, it would stay a secret.

Half-humming, the British magician tilted his head to one side and scraped the razor down one foam-covered cheek. Neatly, he wiped the blade against the ratty towel draped over his bare shoulder. Then he tilted his head the other way and repeated the process. Then again and so on. Just as he was finishing the last bit of sensitive throat, he noticed a flicker of light in the mirror in front of him and automatically pulled the blade from his major artery. Nonetheless, he did not stop touching up the edges of the angle of his jaw. Not even when a shapely young woman with a feien on her shoulder appeared in the light.

In his bathroom.

With him still in his morning formals - a pair of too-big, droopy plaid boxers.

He took a moment to rinse the razor and then, slowly, Jack turned around, grinning as he rubbed the remaining foam from his face with the towel. "Hullo, there," he drawled. "I don't remember summonin' a succubus. Got lost, lass?"

"A succubus?" Was Trin's reaction to the comment. Then she flushed as she realized where she was and what was going on. This was most defiantly NOT the front porch. Thank the stars he was only shaving!

"Whoops...... Er, sorry? I aimed wrong." TB said sheepishly, too shocked to do much else. If she aimed wrong, then was this even the house she was aiming for? Bav, however, suddenly came to life of her shoulder and shot forward.

"Bruns! Hell yeah! It worked! Wrongly, but it worked." She said happily and with a crooked grin, hovering in the air. They were not in some weird place, at least.

"BeeVee!" Jumping from his perch in turn, Brunswick shot towards his sister and gripped her hands, grinning hugely. "That was so cool! How did you do that?"

Jack absently dropped the towel in the sink behind him and leaned back against the cabinet, arms crossing lazily over his chest. Obviously being caught half-naked by a stranger did not phase him in the least. He smiled, easy and warm, at the woman. "Good question, that," he echoed his feien. "How did you do it? I thought I had this house pretty well sealed up."

"Oh, um..... I'm actually really horrible at teleportation spells. Your seals, if around the house, might have caused the miss. But it's an old spell of my people!" Trin offered adamantly, as if trying to explain would be a good apology. Doing what she did might have broken the seals, in fact...

Then she realized something else. "Um... want us to step out for a bit?"

"My bond knows some spells, but she sucks at them." Bav answered her brother, adding to that. "I'm just shocked we made it here and not in a closet! Or a fridge..."

"Huh?" Jack went to ask why he would need that and then, registering her colored cheeks, grinned more. "No worries. I'm decent enough." Stepping around her, he pushed the door open. Then he lifted a hand and waved it, disturbing the air enough to give the feien a nudge towards the door. "C'mon, you two. Out ya go. Out we all go, actually." He winked at Trin and then offered a strangely courtly bow, hands motioning towards the door. "Into my bedroom, right?" he suggested. "I promise it's clean. Not to mention, I can get some trous on so you stop turnin' all those pretty colors."

Bav gave the man an odd look, but shrugged it off. "Bruns, ya gotta give me the tour of the place and all. When ya get to see my house, I'll let you check out my room." She said, grinning at him as she started out. But the tour would also give her a moment to tell Bruns what was going on, without the bonds hearing.

Trin's naturally light skin tone made it that more obvious that she was blushing, and his pointing it out didn't help the shades get lighter. Only darkened. She rubbed her face with one hand, following him out with a still sheepish look. "I really was aiming for the front door. Sorry about all this."

She didn't figure he was sorry at all.

"Oh, I believe you." Jack followed them out and immediately beelined for the closet. Pulling open the door, he dug until he found a pair of worn-thin jeans. Within the next few seconds, he had stepped into them, yanked them up, and buttoned them. "Honestly, I'm more confused at how you got past the seals. Those bloody things are extra-strength," he continued as he padded over to paw through the top drawer of a chest. Standing behind him, Trin could see a spot of shaving foam left and neglected right under his left ear. She could also see a number of faded scars up and down his back, old and faintly shiny from healing. "I've tested 'em against everything I could think of. I reckon I didn't think of you," he tossed over his shoulder, pulling out a grey t-shirt finally. "Maybe it's 'cause you're not so good. You found a loophole or somesuch. Guardian idiots an' all that."

Brunswick rolled his eyes and tugged Bavaria over to the far side of the room, pointing to the nightstand which was cluttered with books and a water glass. "Ignore him," he muttered. "Jack's gone brainy. Though I guess it's better than the alternatives."

"True that." Bav said and headed for the nightstand that her brother pointed too, landing on it and looking around. Cluttered, yes, but she was getting used to alot of clutter. Well, least she wasn't the only one who lived in their bond's bedroom. She idly wondered if Jack snored.

She threw a grin at Bruns then. "I've discovered something bout my bond. She's not nearly as boring as I thought she was."

Trin discreetly looked away from Jack as he got dressed in pants, looking around the room instead. Running into a nearly naked man was quiet a shocker for this time of the day.

Then he passed by her to get a shirt as he spoke and her attention was drawn to the scars. A small frown formed on her face, and she was about to offer him a healing spell (one of the few spells she was good at), but then he all but called her an idiot. She decided not too.

?Perhaps, but I didn?t expect there to be protection spells of any kind. Not many that I?ve run into do that.? Though that wasn?t saying much of Trin?s behalf. She normally stayed to herself. ?Or maybe it?s simply because of the spell I used and it reacted badly. But at least I didn?t land at the bottom of an ocean.? The last part was added almost like an after thought.

"Very good, that." Jack turned around and gave her another naughty-boy grin before tugging his shirt over his head, his brown hair sticking up every which way thanks to the neglectful treatment. "Not a good place for a gel like you," he agreed. "I'm glad you got here, safe an' sound. As for knowin' or not knowin'..." He shrugged negligently and ran a hand through his hair, further standing it on end. "I don't blame you 't all. It's not like I put out a shingle, readin' magician at large. Anyway, it's no worries. You got here in one piece. 'S all good."

He paused suddenly and blinked. "An' I'm not. Sh-Um, sorry. Bad manners. Can I get you a drink or somethin'?" He glanced over at Brunswick and Bavaria. "You two?"

Brunswick looked at his sister and winked. "Sure, Jack. Let's all go to the kitchen for drinks. I wanna show BeeVee my castle." Dropping his voice, he whispered, "We can talk privately there. It's just off the kitchen so we can listen to them, too."

Bav nodded and crossed her arms. She really did need to talk to Bruns cuz if she went dead suddenly, she wanted someone to know why! Then get revenge for her. Somehow.

?Alright then, something to drink would be good.? Trin said after looking to her feien. Then she realized something important was missing from this whole conversation, and that realization made her tail twitch.

?Er, by the way, my name?s Trinityblue, and the feien with me is Bavaria. She and Brunswick are brood-siblings. That?s really why we?re here.? She said, following him now to the kitchen and happy that she wouldn?t have to find it on her own. She?d surely wind up lost.

"Nice t' meet you, Trinityblue," Jack replied over his shoulder, leading her down a dark hallway - the hardwood floor covered in a surprisingly gorgeous Oriental carpet runner. "I'm Jack. Jack Bierce if you fancy gettin' technical." He made an inarticulate noise in the back of his throat as if mulling over her words. "Yeah, I did kind of remember readin' something in that report about Bruns here havin' a few siblings." Turning suddenly, he continued to walk backwards while focusing his attention on Bavaria. "I reckon you got the looks, huh?" he commented to her. "Bruns is just a walkin' mouth most days."

Bav puffed out proudly, squaring her shoulders and smirking. ?Naa, Bruns has always been like that. I got the brains.? She told him, knowing that she wasn?t the best looking of them, Munich had that title. But she didn?t care too much about looks anyway, not that he needed to know this.

Trin?s pace had slowed since he turned, her hands in the pockets of her pants as she looked around the hall and secretly enjoying the carpet?s designs. She made a mental note of the full name, as well. He probably wouldn?t like being called Mister Bierce.

Jack held out two hands, palms upwards, his wrong-facingness not impeding his onward progress at all. Automatically, Brunswick fluttered over to land on one of the palms and smirked. He wasn't about to turn down a free ride, nope. "There's four of 'em, right?" Jack asked Trin. "All geographical with the names. Can't figure why the Fleet gave one to me but who can argue with them? How'd you get the gel there?"

"I actually requested one, because I wanted to help around my shop. And my sister cares for three of them, so I figured why not?" Trin answered and watched as Bav took the other hand. She wasn't about to turn down a free ride as well.

?And yes, there?re four of them, according to the report I received. I?m going to pay a visit to them, if possible, as well. Just, no teleportation spells.? She continued, wincing slightly at the thought of what could happen.

"That's a bril idea, really." Jack nodded, dark eyes thoughtful. "It'd prob'ly be a good idea to know where this one might disappear to if I wake up t' find him gone."

"Like you'd -care-."

"'Course I would." Lifting his hand, Jack grinned directly into Brunswick's tiny face and winked. "You're more fun than a hamster." Then, suddenly, he pivoted on his heel and trotted down a set of stairs that protested every change in weight distribution. Another turn at the bottom took the small party into an open, airy kitchen with a strangely antique-looking stove mixed with a top-of-the-line fridge. Jack neatly slipped the feien from his hands onto the center island counter and headed for the stainless steel doors of the fridge. "Anyway, what were we sayin'? Oh, yeah. Sister." He looked over his shoulder. "Juice for the wee ones but what d'ya fancy for yourself?"

?Tea or most anything else.? Trin answered, once more taking in the sight of his house. It was very interesting; she already liked whole old-things-with-new-things that was going on with it. Vintage. ?And that was the whole point of coming here, really.?

Bav simply waited, a little impatiently however, for them to get their juice, then get to talk in this castle of Bruns. (When did he get a castle, anyway??)

"You say tea to an Englishman, pet, and you'll get a steaming cup of hot liquid that could peel paint off the walls. 'Zat alright?" Jack pulled a bottle of apple juice from the confines of the fridge, nudged the door shut, and then palmed two tiny plastic doll glasses off a shelf. He set it all on the counter before digging through a drawer and removing a long eye-dropper. This he used to siphon out the juice into the cups. Then they were handed over to the feien and Jack waved them off. "To the castle with you two," he ordered. "I know that fidgety look on Bruns' face. Go talk your sister's ear off."

Bruns grinned back at his bond, accepted his glass, and immediately walked to the edge of the counter. "C'mon," he called before taking flight and heading for the next room.

Jack shook his head. "Kids," he declared inanely. Then he looked at Trin, waiting. "So is hot alright then? 'Cause the thought of cold tea makes this London boy wanna cry."

Bav took her juice and followed Bruns with a smirk. Finally they were getting someplace now! Patients was not her best quality.

"You mean they make tea cold?" Trin asked, a slight joking tone in her voice as she looked over at him. A good cup of hot tea would further settle her nerves. She then took a seat on one of the island stools. ?You have a nice house, by the way.? She then added softly.

Her host raised an eyebrow and regarded her in mock-appraisal. "You've met an Englishman before," he announced. "You're sayin' all the right things. Thanks." A grin broke out then, interrupting the charade, and he turned to hit the switch on the electric kettle before pulling down two mugs. One featured a particularly dopey looking cartoon koala and the other, inexplicably, said "World's Greatest Dad". "If you tell me milk an' sugar, pet, I might have to marry you."

Safely out of the kitchen, Brunswick beelined to what was indeed a castle - a toy castle, obviously the original home of some action figure judging by certain details and the overdramatic skull that made for the opening and drawbridge. He landed and padded directly to a long, low bench on the "first floor". "Okay, BeeVee," he announced. "Why's your bond so interesting now?"

"Nice.? Bav commented as she looked at the castle, then took a sip of her juice before answering the question. ?I found out she?s got this whole big freaking secret lab under the house! We?re talking robots, weapons, and killer toasters.? She grinned at him, knowing full well that needed more detail. Or could at least use some.

?I?ve never had it with milk and sugar. My grandpa loves tea, though. He?s a bit of a tea addict, really.? She answered giving him a bit of the grin and ignoring the marriage comment.

"Fair enough. I'll put 'em out and you can decide for yourself. Though it's better goin' in with the tea bag, I assure you." Absently, Jack assembled his own mug, the inappropriate father's mug (he was no one's father... that he knew of, anyway.) with milk, three teaspoons of sugar, and a tea bag. Only a tea bag got dropped in the koala. Just then the kettle clicked and he lifted it from the cradle, neatly pouring just the right amount of steaming water in both mugs. "Oh, you were sayin' something about your sister?" he continued as if he had never dropped that particular bit of the conversation. He poked at the tea bags with a spoon. "Older, younger? From around here? Got feien, too? Cute?"

Brunswick's eyes widened and he whistled lowly. "Wow. That's useful. And here you thought she was boring. Anyone who can do tech without the Fleet hovering over them is smart."

"I'd say,? Bav grinned proudly at this fact. ?Though she's a bit of an idiot with it. Ain?t got the proper security and she doesn?t charge as much as she should. In fact, she?s got a hit man after her, right out. So, if I suddenly kill-over, you should know why.? She continued more somberly.

?I can try it least once.? Trin said as she took her mug and the other things, mixing them up. She wasn?t against trying most things once. ?Yeah, my sister?s Ice Queen. We look nothing alike, just so you know. But she was adopted by my family and we?re bout the same age. She mostly white with red eyes and purple markings on her face, and a lizard like tail.? She told him then took a small sip of her tea. Well, it was different.

Sudden silence filled the kitchen and Jack kept his eyes on his mug, fishing out the tea bag with single-minded focus. Dipping his spoon back in, he stirred it three times counter-clockwise and then twice clockwise before setting the spoon aside. "Ice Queen, you say?" he repeated quietly. Lifting his mug, he turned to face his guest, back against the counter, and eyes studying her face. "White skin and red eyes and purple markings, huh?" He took a long, scalding sip. What were the chances? What were the bloody chances? "She wouldn't happen to have an ex-boyfriend named Shade, would she?"

Brunswick stared at Bavaria and then swallowed, frowning. "A hitman," he repeated. "On your bond... That's not good and I, um... I think I might have met him."

At that moment both Bavaria and her bond shared the same stunned look on their faces. ?He?s? already here?! Damn it! I haven?t even got her to stick the guns in the walls yet!? The feien said, more startled than anything else. ?What?s he look like??

The body language should have prepared the Teiru for that question. But as it was, she nearly choked on her tea, and not because it was hot. ?Um? yes?? She answered him weakly. Great, someone that knew?wait, just because he meet Shade didn?t mean he knew about the hit. ?Yes, that would be her ex-boy friend. And if I see him, I will bop him one good.? She continued with more confidence, though it was a lie. If she saw him, then she?d yell at him for hurting Ice before he?d going about trying to kill her.

Possibly.

Jack's mouth twisted in deep unhappiness. "I'd steer clear o' him if I were you," he replied. "He's dangerous. I don't know who he's here for but he's got a bounty on some poor sod's head. Nothin' good can come o' goin' near him unless, well... Unless you're an idiot like me." He tilted his head and his face was sober for the first time since Trin had teleported into his bathroom a handful of minutes ago. "I wouldn't trust him with a pretty lil thing like you."

Brunswick set down his juice and began pacing. "Big and dark and kind of scary," he said, aggravated. "Except when he's goopy over his new feien who, by the way, is a complete diva. But, no, he's kind of spooky. Even Aleric criticized him and you know that means he's got to be tough."

Bav did the same as her brother, but rather than walking, she leaned against a wall. Big, dark and scary, huh? ?Agreed and I?ve never met him.? She said seriously, then sighed. ?Who?s his feien? He?s got one now, so that means I need to avoid the shop. He might be there at anytime and I don?t want him finding out and leading him to my home.?

Jack?s mood leaked over to his guest. Trin wasn?t looking at him, but at her cup with a small, sad frown on her face. She knew who Shade was after, but he didn?t need to know that. However, she looked back up at him, a little unemotional smile on her face. ?Yes, I know. Ice told me about him, after all. She was the first one I think he went to see when he got here.?

?So, you?ve met him huh?? She then asked, trying to move on to a slightly better conversation, one step at a time.

"Yeah." The magician looked down into his tea again for a moment and then back at her before padding over to sit on the stool next to her. His brown eyes searched over her face and posture. "We ran into each other at the shop. Bruns wanted a walkabout an' I ended up there. He was there with a little purple bloke and a pretty girl feien." He hesitated, knowing that she would not appreciate the news of a bond. After a moment of internal war, he pushed his mug away from him and turned towards Trin. "He rescued her from under the rubble o' the old shop, I gathered."

"Her name is Callisto." Brunswick ran both hands through his hair, ruffling it in his unease. "He found her under the rocks over at the old shop, Aleric said, and... They bonded. Aleric kept making all these unhappy faces about it, too. Like he was gonna puke."

?He ?prolly felt guilty about letting her bond with a killer like that.? Bav said, shrugging in an off handed manner. Internally she was about to scream. Gaia was so wonderful, then this happened. Mentally she noted the name down. ?Great? as if this wasn?t hard enough. If we manage to kill him, then the little ancient will have to go too.?

That smile on her face flicked a moment as she took in the news. Lovely, Shade had a bond. ?Icey?s not going to like that?? She said softly, unsure of how to take the news. ?But there has to be good points about him, else she?d never would have fallen that hard for the guy.? She said, still trying to put a positive spin on things. Talking about it like she didn?t know the mark was a lot harder than talking to one who knew, it seemed.

"Maybe. I hardly know the guy... Other than what he does which is grey territory enough." Jack ran a hand through his hair, coming to a rest at the nape of his neck and scratching vaguely as he tried to cope with the strange look on her face. Finally, he sighed and dropped his hand, moving to slip his other arm around her shoulders reassuringly. "I knew who you were talkin' about 'cause he carries her picture in his wallet. He's really hung up on her. Said about quitting after this job but... I dunno," he admitted. "He doesn't seem t' get why she wouldn't like his job, y'know? Which totally buggers his intentions t' quit or whatever. Mebbe both o' you should steer clear o' him."

Brunswick stomped a little foot and spun, driving his fist into the nearest plastic wall. "This is no bloody fair," he announced, demonstrating his new vocabulary from his bond. "She was kind of a cold snooty princess and all but she shouldn't die because she hooked up with him. But I'll be damned if I let him kill you, BeeVee."

The gears in Bav?s head were turning quiet visibly. She knew what her brother felt, and she hated it. ?Maybe? we don?t ?have- to kill him? What if he just got stuck in a stasis thingy? Where he didn?t die, but couldn?t hurt anyone?? She said, more to herself than him. The gym of hers was going to be the first place she hit once home.

Guilt. The guilt was going to rip her apart. Trin wanted to tell him how? awkward that was going to turn out to be, but how could she? Seriously, she didn?t want to involve any more people than there already were. ?Heh, Ice won?t take him back after this job.? She said dryly. Defiantly not after he killed her own sister. She took another sip of her tea, not reacting to his small hug.

Jack considered this, arm still resting easily on her shoulders. Then he reached for his mug and sipped. "Prob'ly best," he agreed. "It'd be like marryin' an alcoholic or an addict, anyway. It sounded like he's been doin' that shite for ages."

The hope feien looked at his sister and frowned more. "But if it comes down to you or her, BeeVee, it's you. Every time," he declared. "Screw the ancient if it risks you."

A little spark went off in Bav?s purple eyes and a smirkish-grin went over her face. ?I?m not about to roll over and die, bro. If I gotta fight for my life, that little ancient?s gonna have ta do the same! I?m notta ?bout to go and leave you in charge of the Pack. You?d just go for and start flirting with the girls around here.?

?Longer than I think you?d even realize.? Trin said, then sighed. Now that the topic wasn?t so tense, she was relaxing, and the guilt that made her almost tell him that she was the mark was leaving.

Jack was a really friendly fellow. His arm was even still on her, but she made no motion to shrug it off. It was something other than the hot tea in her hands to focus on. ?So, what do you do for a living anyway?? She asked, now changing the subject.

"Me?" Half-laughing, strangely amused at her resilience, Jack let his arm slip from her shoulders, hand absently trailing across the nape of her neck before squeezing the shoulder closest to him and returning to cup his mug as if gathering warmth. "Bit o' this, bit o' that. I've done some teaching," he admitted. "Now, though, I guess you could say I'm back t' research. I'm... Well, a magician." He shot her a sidelong grin. "If you ask me to pull a rabbit out of a hat, though, I'll spank ya."

Brunswick rolled his eyes and reached out to grab Bavaria's hand and pull her into a hug that quickly devolved into a noogie. "Idiot. Not all girls are worth flirting with," he replied. "But that doesn't mean you can leave. We're a lifetime contract, sis. No gettin' out of it."

The other hope feien gave a short, fast laugh and twisted out of the hugging-noogie. ?I?m not about to give it up either!? She told him, smirking now but not feeling that much better about the situation. ?Besides, someone?s gotta watch as Nack kicks your a**.?

?Research is most important for one who deals with magic.? Trinity told him seriously as her tail gave a small swish for the first time in the conversation. ?My teaches and family would skin me if I even thought about asking you to pull a rabbit out of a hat. Less you were going to make a stew out of it.?

"Excellent. Maybe I should marry you after all, huh?" Giving a one-shouldered shrug, Jack slipped from his stool and went to dig through a drawer under the end of the island. "It runs in my family, too," he added. "I had about as much choice as the sky has to be blue. I just went the more... Academic route with it all. Compared to Mum an' Da who just sort of go on instinct."

Brunswick snorted indelicately. "As if. I let him win."

"Uh huh, sure." Bav drawled. "Just so the girls there could coo over ya for getting hurt, right?"

?It?s not just my family, my entire race is this way. Just some are more skilled than others.? Trinity told him and acted as if the earlier conversation hadn?t even happened. ?I?ve been tinkering around with technology though, so my magic?s been?. Lacking to say the least.? She said in a sheepish manner and rubbed her neck where he had lightly touched, now that he moved away.

"Nothing wrong with that. 'Specially if you like your tech more." Jack took a swallow of his tea and shrugged lazily. "Me? I can't work anything more complicated than that electric kettle while I'm pretty bloody good at the magic lark. There's no shame in goin' with what you're good at and what you love."

Brunswick winked at his sister dramatically. "You're catching on, BeeVee!"

Bav rolled her eyes, smirking at him. "I shoulda known! So, has it worked yet?"

Trin took another sip of her tea, thinking it over. At least someone wasn't mad at her for abandoning her magic and perusing technology. ?Remind me never to invite you into my shop. That might scare me, and the only magics I?m good at are healing ones.? She added with a shrug.

?So, you have kids..?? She finally asked, gesturing to the mug with the writing on it.

"Huh? Do I..?" Jack blinked owlishly at Trin and then obediently looked down at his mug. The look of complete panic immediately evaporated and he sighed. "Oh, this. It was here when I got here." He grinned, all naughty-boy charm. "Don't scare a bloke, pet. I'm not ready for fatherhood yet. Yet. I've got more control than that an', anyway, they'd need just the right mum. Someone special, y'know? T' make up for havin' -me- as their da."

Brunswick leaned against the wall, hands behind his head, and smiled beatifically. "Well, I'd say Soho and Marne fancy me a bit, sure."

"They're both bubbly. How you can stand it, I ain't gotta clue." Bav said, leaning against the wall again and crossing her arms. "But it's much better you than me."

TB really choked at that look, trying not to laugh. "So far, I don't see a problem in you for that to have to matter." She told him earnestly. ?But then we only met, so? I?m sure I?ll find something.? Her voice turned teasing as she watched him.

Jack tilted his head and half closed his sleepy brown eyes. Then he scrunched his nose to mimic deep thought before wiggling his eyebrows at her. "Oh, right," he finally announced. "Got it. I smoke. I look like you just saw in the morning. And..." He leaned closer, voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "I still watch Bugs Bunny cartoons while catching Malteasers in my mouth."

Brunswick shrugged. "They're cute," he countered simply. "Sunil and Callisto are too old, not as cute. And that Galatea..." He paused and frowned. "Does she give you a headache, too, sis? Like you -should- know her but don't?"

?I haven?t actually spoken to her.? Varia answered with a small frown. ?Unlike the others, she didn?t look too interested in coming forward. Next time I see her, though, I?ll pay more attention.?

?There?s not a thing wrong with Bugs Bunny or any of those cartoons.? Trin?s tone was somehow serious, as was her expression. ?Smoking can be broken if desired, and I look worse in the mornings.? She smirked then. ?But I?m inclined to agree on the whole ?not ready? issue.? And boy she wouldn?t be ready for that for... well, quiet some time. Less someone really special wormed their way in and her resilience broke.

Propping an elbow on the table, Jack leaned his cheek against it and regarded Trin thoughtfully. "Though, I reckon if there was a mistake, I'd get ready right quickly. All kids deserve good parents, right? As good as they can be." His smile was half-laughing now. "I was a not-ready whoopsie, myself," he provided easily.

"Do that, BeeVee." Brunswick sighed. "It's driving me nuts."

"Maybe in the next training session, I'll do so. If she's there." Bav said in a small, thoughtful tone, and then looked at him. ?You still going to train to kick their asses? I?ve been setting up a little something to keep training when I?m home. I still want to kick that b*****d?s a**.?

?Good, I don?t want to have to hunt you down and bop you if I heard otherwise.? Trin replied, smirking still at him. She didn?t have a clue as to what she was, but given her family, she figured it was planned. Or maybe not planned, thus is why they wanted out so bad.

"An' I'd be thankful." Jack searched over her pale face, looking for something. "I'd deserve it. The poor gel I did it to, too, should get a whack at me."

Brunswick nodded and stepped out of the castle onto the table. He motioned to his sister to follow him. Leading her to the side, he displayed a motley assortment of things to lift and a piece of heavy thread with knots at either end. "Does this look like I'm not serious about it?" he asked. Sobering a bit, he nodded. "Yeah, have a look at her, sis. Then look back and watch me kicking around that Nack kid."

?I?d expect nothing less.? Bav smirked and placed a hand on her brother?s shoulder. ?It might take time, since they?re older, but we?ll do it, and you?ll beat him. And if you need something crafted, just ask. Finally found a good use for those form and mend spells.?

?She should, then you?ll have to go though all those pregnant woman hormonal imbalance issues and suffer great.? Trin smirked and looked down at her tea, paying more attention to that than the way he was looking at her. Her fluffy tail gave a nervous little twitch.

Jack straightened and the considering look fled his face, leaving behind his usual slightly-wicked grin. "Right, right. An' I swear I won't run for the pub every time she gets pissy. Cross my heart an' hope t' die."

Bavaria's words signaled a sudden shift in Brunswick and he looked at her with obvious respect. "Really? You've got a handle on them? How's that work?" he asked. "What can you do?"

That reaction made the hope feien?s stance change to a more proud one. ?Yup. I?ve been working on it since I?ve been here. Fixed up my place real nice like, and got my own work out area. Trin told me she wanted me to help her make things, thanks to those spells.? She had them for some time, but now she was getting real use out of them.

?And don?t question when she asks you for weird food combinations.? Trin added, looking up again now that he had moved. ?Stars I hope I never have to go though that?. For a long, long time.?

"Yeah, that, too," the British magician agreed readily. "Any woman willing to bring a kid o' mine into the world deserves lots o' pamperin', I reckon. Besides, pregnant women are the toughest women around. You don't wanna piss 'em off."

Brunswick likewise swelled with pride - though his was less personal and more reflected. "That's great. See? Your bond is just fine. I so have to come visit you."

?Yep, then maybe I could sneak you into the lab and you can see what all she hordes in there. You?re gonna like it, too.? Bav winked at her brother, already figuring the path of what all she?d show off. ?And luckily, I don?t live in a shoe box.?

?Pissing them off would be bad.? Trin agreed, then started fishing her mind for a new topic. ?So, next question, what type of magic do you study? And you?re free to ask me things, as well.?

"Oh, I study a bit of this and a bit of that. I can manage most sorts but," there was the briefest of hesitations in his voice but it was so slight that Trin thought she might have imagined it, "my specialty is what you'd call control magic, I reckon. Control an' wards an' seals. A bit ritualized, really, but useful. My elemental is hit or miss, dependin' where I am, an' nothing holy much likes t' talk to me. Family history." He grinned. "I'm good at patchworkin', really. An' you, Miss Trinityblue. What sort of tech do you do?"

"Good." Brunswick nodded. "I don't want my sister living in a lousy shoe box. No privacy!"

?Yep. Munich just had lousy luck, really. And we?re going to have to get together with them to talk about another place to be meeting. Fleet building is not a place to meet, after all.? Bavaria continued her thoughtful train.

?A bit sketchy there, eh?? Trin asked, lifting a brow at him slightly. There was no judgment on her face, only amusement. ?Well, really, I make various devices for people, ranging from artificially intelligent programs to better food processors.?

"Useful stuff," Jack declared with a broad grin. "With that kind of range, you must be brilliant, pet. Serious brain power, there."

Brunswick nodded firmly. "Of course," he agreed. "There's no privacy and people sneak around all the time and just... No, we'll find somewhere else."

?I was thinking more like a little tree house or something to use as a meeting place. Have in it a tree that?s central to all our locations. What do you think?? Bav asked him. This was something she had been thinking about for a while.

?Actually, I just had a really long time to study.? TB told him sheepishly. ?I?m going to have to go back to magic though, later on? maybe when I need something new to learn.? Considering how long her people lived, they tended to develop many different hobbies. The Teiru girl sitting in his kitchen was no exception.

Jack chuckled and waved one hand in an expansive gesture, indicating the house, him, whatever. "Well, if you need someone to practice with, you know the address." He winked. "Make it after 9 a-emma an' you won't catch me in the loo again."

"A treehouse." Brunswick considered this option and then nodded. "Yeah, and it won't even need to be anything too big. We can all fit just about anywhere and smaller usually means more privacy."

"Yeah, but we're also gonna need something or someplace that'll be able to survive the weather. I could fix it up to be a good place too. Maybe a knuck in a tree or something." Bav told him, giving a little shrug as she did. "We'd have to get with the others first, let them know before either of us waste time in lookin."

Trin gave the Brit man a cheery smile. "I might actually have to take you up on that sometime." Those sealing/shield spells might come in handy when dealing with Shade. "And I might beable to teach you something from my learning, if there's something you want to know." Then she blinked and looked around for a scratch sheet of paper. Something to write on, at least. "But you don't know my address.... I'll write it down for you, so you can come visit me and if something breaks, or you just need to know how to set your VCR's clock, I could help." The cat-like girl offered.

"This whole separation thing sucks, don't it?" Bavaria said irritably. "Think Berlin'll show up in a dress this time?"

"And I'll try not to show up before nine next time. Who knows what you'll be doing next time." TB took the pen and wrote down her name, address and even phone number. There was a sneaky suspicion that he might need a name with this number. With his looks and naughty-boy charm, he probably had girls hidden in places.

Reading over her shoulder, Jack nodded to himself as his mental map located her house. He smiled. Middle of nowhere, too. Which probably meant that she had noise pollution problems, too. Grinning, he reached over her shoulder and picked up the paper. "Ta, pet," he said. "You're an angel."

"If Berlin shows up in a dress, I'll be wishing so so so hard for a feien-sized camera," Brunswick snickered. "Makes me all the more glad I got stuck with Jack."

"Oh hell yeah. That would be priceless! But he'd probably dump the dress before we got a chance to see, ya know?" The red headed feien grinned at the idea of Berlin in that yellow frilly dress. "Makes me glad that my bond's a techy."

Trin's catlike ear gave a small flick from the air he breathed on it, and she suppressed a ringing shudder. Having big people look over her shoulder like that always made her nervous for some reason. But she gave him a devious smirk. "There are some who'd seriously disagree with that statement. An angel I am not, but I'll take the compliment."

"Excellent. You would not believe how many girls can't take compliments." Jack took a step back and folded up the paper to slip it into his back pocket. Overdramatic, he rolled his eyes heavenwards. "It makes it really hard t' do the bar scene in this country, y'know."

Brunswick smirked smugly. "I think you and I got the coolest bonds, don't you? Demons and robots. How cool can you get?"

"Demon robots would be even cooler, ya know?" Bav told him with a grin, already thinking it over. She was happy. Her bond was now cool, and the Fleet wasn't in control of her!

"Actually I wouldn't." Trin half-laughed at him. "I don't go to bars, frankly. I have a bad habit of keeping to myself. Ice was the only one who knew I even lived on Gaia, other than my parents, before I got a feien." Which might be the saving grace to her. If not many people knew where to find her, then Shade would be having a hard time finding her. She hoped.

"Well, bars aren't like pubs," Jack agreed. "I reckon you'd rather go to a pub. They're cozier an' it's not all about pullin' dates. You just go t' talk and relax." He smiled. "If ever we're in England together, I'll take you t' one. Ice, too, if she fancies. But only because she's your sister."

Brunswick was starry-eyed. "Demon robots," he repeated.

"Uh huh. Demon robots. We just gotta 'convince' Jack into doing that with one of her robots. That would be wicked awesome." There was a small, smug look on Bav's small face from this idea.

"A pub does sound nicer than a bar. Much nicer, in fact, but we'll have to see if I ever get over to England. Always did want to visit that place, just haven't got around to it." Trin answered. Though she wouldn't drink much, if at all. The years after Ice's big break up were... rather fuzzy at best. She then took a final drink of her tea to finish it off. "Unfortunately, Varia and I should probably be going. I mean, we just dropped in and you probably have plans and all for the day, huh?"

He didn't, not really, but he wasn't about to be such a bore as to encourage her to stay if she wanted to leave. Even if he was enjoying her company thoroughly. So Jack merely smiled and held out a hand as if to help her from her stool. "Right, then. Thanks for stoppin' by, though, an' come on by whenever you like. My door's always open to you, Trinityblue.

"We'll work on them both and see what we can do. We'll also see what Munich and Berlin's bonds can do." Brunswick nodded, pleased with the plan. "And we'll all talk about that Shade guy, too. We'll protect you."

A small, touched smile went over Bav's face with those words. Siblings like him and the others had to be the best thing ever. That smile slide easily into a more cocky smile. "Yeah, I know it. The others should know as well. It'd be good. Thanks bro."

Trin took the hand, getting to her feet. "Thank you, Jack, for the tea and you're welcome to drop by my place at anytime. Just... ring the door bell and give me a moment. I'll more than likely be in my shop." She told him with a friendly smile.

The magician winked and teasingly kissed the back of her hand before releasing it with a grin. "Right. So noted," he said. "It's not like I can teleport, anyway."

"Hey, no worries." Brunswick caught his sister in a tight, crushing hug. "No one touches one of us. I don't care how big and cool they are."

Bav returned the crushingly tight hug, both in affection and to not be crushed herself. "That is an absolute. We started as a team, and we came as one. Different bonds in different places aren't gonna stop that."

The little joking-courtly kiss on the hand, threw Trin off slightly. Then she recovered and smiled at him. "To which I'm grateful. Who knows what would happen in your popped in on me in the bathroom." She told him teasingly then turned on her heal to head into the room the two feiens had flown too. "Bavaria, we should get going." She called lightly into the room, though in truth, she didn?t much want to go as well.

Bav gave a small groan at this call.

Her brother echoed her and then rolled his eyes dramatically. "Guess you've gotta go," he muttered. "We'll have longer next time. I'll yell at Jack when you're gone. He was supposed to keep your bond so entertained that she didn't want to go! Failure. Hmph." Sighing in his best long-suffering manner, Brunswick stepped from the table and fluttered for a moment before leading Bavaria back to the kitchen.

Bav gave her own dramatic sigh and followed her brother out. ?I?ll blame her for that too. She?s dense.? She whispered then gave Bruns a final hug before flying to her bond?s shoulder.

?You two are staying out of trouble, right?? Trin asked, giving her feien a mock serious look.

?Course we are!? Bav puffed up again with a frown as if highly offended by that accusation.

"Good as gold, Miss Trinityblue."

Jack sighed and held out his hand for Brunswick to land on. "Now you -know- they're lyin'," he said in his best Sad Voice. "They were prob'ly plottin' to take over the world on Saturday. Maybe we should get together t' make sure they don't, huh?" His easy smile radiated "no pressure" just as much as "I'm teasing".

Trin lifted a brow at him and a small, curious smile. ?That would be fine, if you?d like too. I have this feeling that Varia-?

?Bav!?

?-would like to hang out more with her brother.? She went on, ignoring the protest of the nickname that was used. Her dull-bright eyes did a small scan of the area, searching for the door. Though she'd wait for Jack to escort them out.

Uncannily interpreting her look around, Jack laughed under his breath. "Bolthole," he murmured. Nonetheless, he continued to smile warmly and motioned for her to follow him down another hallway with another aged-but-lovely carpet runner. "This way, pet," he continued. "And don't think I won't hold you to this. Bruns needs out an' aobut more."

Brunswick snorted. "So do you. You're starting to smell like books and brimstone."

Jack pulled a comical face, tragic-sad, and delivered his best puppy-dog eyes to Trin as if seeking reassurance. "See how he treats me? Ungrateful brat."

Trin bit back another laugh, this one more obvious than the last. Then used her best teasing-coo voice as she followed him: "Poor Jack. It'll be ok. We all have our flaws."

"You're one to talk. You hardly leave the house! You're going to start smelling like electricity and grease!" Bav commented accusingly at her bond. Eesh, for such cool bonds, they sure didn't go any place!

"Oy, little gel." Jack looked over his shoulder and rewarded Bavaria with a devestating grin. "Are you trying to set your mum an' me up?"

Mom? Bav blinked oddly at this before quickly covering it up with an evil smirk. "If it meant Bruns and I could hang out more-"

"Bavaria?.." Her bond's voice dropped to a warning tone though a flush was creeping up on her face due to the mere thought of that. It was a topic TB tended to avoid.

Brunswick smiled angelically. "You two seem to get along just great."

Jack rolled his eyes and then winked over his shoulder at Trin. "Listen t' the Parent Trappers here, huh? No worries, Trin. We'll outsmart them." Even as he said this, they reached the front door, a solid monster of oak with a few even more solid-looking locks and chains.

Jack's easy manner about it relieved Trin, making her smile once more. These two feien were sneaky all on their own. She didn't want to imagine what would happen if all four of them were constantly together. At the sight of the door, she hesitated. The wood was beautiful, even impressive but there were so many locks. What was he so seriously trying to keep out and why?

TB figured these things would come later or that he really hated traveling salesmen. "Well, again, thank you for your hospitality. I really appreciate it. And if you do want to come over Saturday, feel free too!"

"I'd love to." Jack's long-fingered hands flickered expertly over the myriad of locks and bolts and the door was loosed in less time than she could have believed possible. The magician looked at the feien on his shoulder. "Say goodbye, Bruns," he suggested with an air of innocent helpfulness.

The feien rolled his eyes and then grinned brightly, waving to his sister and her bond. "We'll be over Saturday. Be careful, BeeVee. Really careful, okay?" Jack frowned, puzzled at the hope feien's way of hitting the words so solemnly and insistently. What wasn't he sharing?

"Got it bro!" Bav winked at him with a wave. Apparently in that short amount of time she was picking up on of physical mannerisms of Jack's. "See ya bro!" She then added before her bond could do that too her and held on to the neck of Trin's clothing.

Trin lightly shook her head with a smirk and headed out. "Take care you too, see ya." She waved lightly to them before stuffing her hands in her pockets and walking down the way and her tail gave a little swish. Obviously, she wasn't going to teleport home, or if she was, she was going to get well away from the house.

Jack was an interesting guy indeed.

----------------------------------------

"Wait wait wait! Shade! I was reading that!" Callisto said irritably. She and Shade were sitting on a bench in the park, reading a newspaper. At least she was reading. Shade seemed more intent on skimming.

"Sorry, Calli." Shade said absently, getting bored. Then his eyes caught on an ad in the corner, and he blinked. "They pay that much for a... tail?" He asked incredulously. "These gaians are insane..."

"I don't know... do you think I'd look good with a tail?" Callisto asked, moving so the newspaper rustled. It looked strange really, from outside no one could see her, even if they heard her, she was so hidden by the newspaper. It looked almost as if the man reading it was having a conversation with himself.

Trinityblue walked briskly through the park, headed for her home. Least... she hoped she was going the right way. Or she would if she thinking about it. Right now, however, there were a bundle of other things going through her mind.

Shade was around and near by. Jack had just resently seen him and he has a feien now, the poor dear. That ment that she couldn't go to the shop, nor could she visit her sister. If Shade still had a crush on her, then he'd more than likely would keep dropping on on her.

Bavarai, on the other hand, was having her own problems. Riding on the back of her bond's neck and shoulders was rather complicated. The shirt was a great place to hold on too her with feet, and she could grab on to Trin's hair.... but it was still rather annoying. She'd diffently would have to get this fixed if it was to continue.

"Could ya slow down or take a break?? I'm going to fall off soon!" The little feien complined.

Trin jerked and gave a sheepish look though it wasn't seen by the one intended. "Yeah, sorry about that..." She said softly and went for the nearest bench to sit for a moment. She gave a sigh as she looked over the lake, still in thoughts.

Shade turned the page, and Callisto only dodged getting closed between the pages, not bothering to complain. "Look, you're telling me they actually wear this stuff? And pay for it? I'm broke off my a** on this planet..."

"Maybe you should look into getting a job?" Callisto said. "You promised me a hairbrush, you know."

"I know, I know..." He shook his head, not really paying attention to the fact that someone had sat down next to him.

The sound of a small female's voice made Trin and her feien blink. Casually as she could, she leaned back to see around the paper. "Um... is that a Feien...?"

It was a stupid question, but one that needed to be asked.

"Huh? Oh, right, um... yeah." Shade said, grinning slightly as he moved the paper aside. Callisto looked up at the newcomer, sighing reluctantly. She had found something interesting in the paper that she had wanted to read.

"My name is Callisto." Callisto said grandly. "I am an ancient."

A smile twitched on Trin's face now as she looked down at the little feien. "Hey there. I see why you were complaining about needed a hair brush now..."

Bav parted some of the hair that surrounded her to see what was going on. And by seeing, she nearly choked. The man was dark.. and scary looking, as she remembered Brunswick discribling.

Oh. MAN.

"I'm tempted to cut it off." Callisto replied, shoving at it futilely. "But HE won't let me." She added, giving her bond a dark look.

"I like your hair long." Shade said with a slightly apologetic grin. "Don't you think she looks good with long hair?"

"Of course I LOOK good. But it's bugging me!" Callisto protested. "Hmph. Males just don't understand."

"Maybe you should learn how to brade it? That what I do with mine when I'm working." Trin offered, idly wondering why Bav wasn't going to make herself known.

Bavaria, on the other hand, was wondering what the hell had gotten into her bond. This was the guy that was going to kill them! And she was talking nice?!

Callisto thought about it for a moment, then nodded. "Perhaps. But I'll still need a hairbrush."

"As soon as I get some of this gaia gold, Calli. I promise." Shade said. "We were looking for jobs, actually." He told Trinity, with a shrug. "You happen to know anything? I mean, I'm a pretty versatile guy."

Callisto went quiet for a moment, frowning as a strange sensation pricked the back of her neck. Was it... magic of some sort?

"Well, what all do you do? Are you good with people? I'm sure there are stores or restruants that would hire you." The Teiru suggested and looked over at the paper. "See what's in the want-ad's."

Then she looked at Callisto. "Would you like me to see if I can brade your hair? It'll keep more tangles from getting into it."

"Okay." Callisto said, fluttering to the other female and presnting her hair. Then she looked at Shade, motioning to the newspaper. "Start looking."

Shade raised a finger, then sighed and flipped open the newspaper. "We probably won't be on this planet much longer, but oh well..." He said, flipping through the pages thoughtfully.

"Oh, you're from space, huh?" Trin asked as she carefully started to work on Callisto's hair, not wanting to hurt her with whatever tangles there may be. It almost made her wish that Bav's hair was long. But if that were the case, she'd have a killer fro.

Did feien even had strightening irons? Or maybe she could get it into dreds....

Bav meanwhile remained quiet and curled against the back of Trin's neck, wondering if Jack had done something to her bond to make her this clueless! ..... Wait... she was already dense to begin with.

"Yeah, but aren't most Gaians?" Shade asked. "Or are they just strange? Look, here's a job for a pet breeder. Right next to the job for a can collector..."

He paused. "Which can be made into a... hat." He finished, shaking his head.

"Avoid the breedable jobs. I hear they can be a real pain at times. But yes, Gaia is a strang place with strange people. But it's nice and simple. Not everyone is from space. Some are born here." TB explained to him. "What other jobs are there? Cuz Callisto's really going to need a brush soon."

"Huh... Guess I could get a job as a bouncer..." He said, flipping through the pages. "That wouldn't be too bad. Or..." He stopped, focusing on a large ad in the back. "Huh... an arena..."

"I also need a mirror." Callisto said, crossing her arms over her chest. "Tell me... do you have a feien, too?"

"I do, but I think she's asleep at the moment." Then Trin's voice dropped to a whisper, as if conspiring something. "Usually only those with feien should see feien. Try not to be seen by others when shopping, or little kids might want to make you into their new pet. Or something worse." What she wasn't sure.

Bav mentally cursed at her bond saying something like that. The idiot! What if he new his mark was to have a feien?! ... s**t, she couldn't tell her whole name either.....

Trin looked at Shade again, taking in his build. "Yes, a bouncer would be a good job for you, I think. Maybe at a local bar?" There was also something else bothering her, but she wasn't sure what....

"Really?" Callisto asked. "That sounds... disturbing." Callisto said, making a face. "I am definitely not a pet." She would have tossed her hair, but it was being braided at the time.

"I'll look into it." He said. "But if you can't show your feien to others, how do you buy stuff for them?" He asked.

"There are special shops just for feien and with feien sized things. But you can also go into stores and keep them hidden. Then when there is nothing around, you two can talk -softly- about what you want and will get." Trin said and suddenly frowned. "And I have nothing to tie off the brade with..." Her fingers were holding the end of the long, blueish hair.

"Here." Callisto said, pulling the white strand of hair she had tied around her wrist to the Teiru. "This should work, I think."

"Yeah, alright. I can do that." Shade replied. Not that he was too worried about someone taking Callisto from him. That would just be retarded. But he wasn't going to tell her that. "There's a lot of rules to having a feien, isn't there?"

A brow lifted up at him as TB gave another quick glance. "So far as I know, there can be. What element is she? Having that element around will be healthy for her." She said and took the hair carefully, doing her best to wrap it around the end of the brade to finish it off.

"I am a light feien." Callisto said, vaguely tweeked at being referred to instead of asked. "At least that's what I think I am. I know that I dislike darkness."

Shade nodded. "She knows more than I do. And she doesn't know much."

Trin flushed for being rude at not asking her that. "Sorry.." She muttered, then continued on. "Well, then you might also want to pick up a night light or a little key-ring flash light when you go for your brush and mirror." This time she referred to the feien.

"Yes, I've been told that." She said with a nod as she pulled the braid over her shoulder. "That's much better, thank you." She took to the air, landing on Shade's shoulder. She eyed the female for a moment, wondering why she was being so nice. Obviously she didn't know just what Shade was...

Not that Callisto was going to tell her.

"Thing is, I'm not big on staying in one place." Shade said earnestly. "We're going to have to figure out some place for you to sleep that I can keep while I'm moving. Like a pocket or something."

"A pocket." Callisto repeated, raising an eyebrow. A faint flush crossed Shade's cheeks.

"Yeah. A pocket."

Trin bit her tongue to not laugh at this suggestion. "I hope you mean a jacket pocket, because a pant or leg pocket might just be a little... uncomfortible." There was a small laugh in her voice as she spoke. No, she didn't know who this man was. Though there was still something nagging her...

There was a very light sound from behind her neck. One that Bav wished she had never given, but live in a poket?! That was way worse than living in a shoe box! And she wasn't feeling the least bit guilty for thinking this diva deserved it.

"I'll have one built in!" Shade said, tugging at his trenchcoat. "That way you're less likely to swing around."

"I." Callisto said through gritted teeth. "Am. NOT. A. PET!" She was shouting by the time she was finished, stomping her tiny little foot on his shoulder.

Shade winced. "I know, I know! But I'm going to have to go home sooner or later, and if my boss sees you--" He stopped mid-sentence. "Look, I'll make it really comfortable. Best bedroom you've ever had. I swear!"

"If only people could make sub-space pockets in a jacket pocket, then that wouldn't be a problem." Trin muttered, thinking of the Poppin's bags that were out in space.

Not noticed? Good! Bavaria gave a small, silent sigh of relief about all of this. Yeah, sneeking around in the Fleet during 'off time' had it's benifits.

"..." Shade's eyes widened slightly. "I could do that... Hell, wouldn't be too hard at all, I'd just need to tweek some threads and--" He fell silent, digging into his pocket and pulling out a small pad of paper and a pen. Soon he was sketching away.

Callisto looked down, still frowning for a moment before she started to relax. If he COULD pull off a room like that she would be quite comfortable.

"...." Trin was quiet a moment also as she watched them, then decided to see what was going on. She leaned foreward to look over Shade's shoulder as well.

Bav even took a moment to peek though the mass of hair to see.

He pulled back for a moment, revealing what looked to be a miniature suite, as well as a few notes about a door like spell for leaving a rift openable. The same one that Ice used on her closet.

"The rift will close the moment the pocket's closed..." He said after a moment. "But we can hook up a block of sorts so it won't close while you're in there... Only question is finding a jacuzzi in feien size..."

Yes, he was a perv.

"A feien jacuzzi?" Trin asked, pulling away and choking on another laugh. Her brow was once more raised in question at him. Yeah, this guy was a bit of a perv... but he could draw well! She didn't even bother to read the notes. If she had, then she might be running away in fear.

Ok, now the little hope feien was fighting jealousy. But then, who would be jealous of a feien who had a killer for a bond?!

"You do draw really well, ya know?" TB then said, breaking into her feien's thoughts.

"It's a hobby." He said with a grin that belied his casual dismissal of her comment. "But yeah, I'm going to have to pick up some gold before I can worry about the jacuzzi. Or the four poster bed."

"I like the bed. But I expect very nice sheets." Callisto said with a nod.

"Of course you do." He said with a snort.

Trin gave a little snicker before she stood. "Well, good luck finding a job. I should get home, now. It was nice meeting you." She told him, giving him a little wave as she started away. "And Callisto, I have no doubt that he'll get you the things you want. Long as they are safe for you, anyway."

"Of course he will." Callisto said braggingly. "I deserve it."

"Actually I just like the idea of a jacuzzi in my pocket." Shade said, still doodling.

"...You're rather strange, aren't you?" Callisto asked.

Realization - Story
Players: Trinityblue & Bavaria
-----------------------------

They were within sight of Trinity's house, one that she was now sharing with her feien. A feien by which was all too quiet for her bonded's liking. Bavaria being quiet usually meant that something was up, or going to explode. Either way, it wouldn't be good.

"What's wrong?" She asked finally.

"...You really have no idea, do you?" Bav asked and worked her way out from under the mess of strange gray-ish hair. It wasn’t the gray that came with old age; rather it was a more rich color. Blues, purples and even a bit of red was mixed it in and added to the already purlly look Trin carried. Usually TB wore it up. However she had been wearing it loose when going out so that Bavaria could hide.

“Would I ask if I didn’t?” Trin asked and opened the door to the house. Bav rolled her eyes and flew off of her bond and around to her face, giving the catty-girl and good whack on the nose. TB made a small sound from such and rubbed the now abused nose.

“You’re a moron! For all your inventions and smarts, you don’t know your killed when you talk to him!” Varia scolded, hands on her hips. Then continued the moment Trin opened her mouth. “That man in the park! That was –him-! That was Shade!”

“Wait, you mean –the- Shade??” Trin gasped. She felt like a fool now that she thought of it. Ice’s race was rare, really quiet rare and Shade was one of her sister’s race! That should have been a big tip off. What were the chances that she could have met one of that race on Gaia? When one of that race was out to kill her? She let out a groan, falling to her knees on the floor. “I think I’m going to be sick.” She muttered.

“Not with me in the room!” Bavaria commanded, flying back further from her bond. She glanced around and fluttered over to some paper that was lying on a table (was that her paper from the Fleet?). Once grabbing it, she went back to her bond and started to fan the Teiru. “Eessh, Get yourself together!”

It took several moments for Trin to calm down and settle her mind. Ok, so she was sitting next to Shade. Shade had a feien now. Did Ice know this? Yes, more than likely so… Wait… “How did you know that was him anyway?” She asked, looking up at Varia.

“Er… bout that. I was tellin Bruns bout it all, so, ya know, if something happened –wrongly- at least someone would know how it happened. Anyway, he met Shade in the Fleet Feien shop-building-place and he and Jack learned of the hit there. Just not who.” The little hope feien explained. “So when I told him, it kinda fit and I was told what he looked like.” Then she frowned and gave Trin a perplexed look. “So... you’re telling me you never ever even saw a picture of the guy who was going to be your brother-in-law?”

“Heh, no. Ice had pictures, just never got around to showing them off. Then after the breakup… I figured she burned them and I never wanted to bring it up.” Trin answered, sitting more comfortably on the floor. “Silly I know.” She gave a nervous little smile.

Bav shrugged it off, tossing the paper in some direction now that her bonded no longer needed it. “Well, we know he’s in town, for real, now. So, we’ve gotta prepare for his eventually arrival! We’re going to be setting up your security system!” She said with all the authoritive air her little body could muster. Subconsciously of course, she was the leader of her Pack for a reason (other than the fact that no one else wanted to lead).

“I’m not about to tonight! We’ll do it in the morning.” Trin protested with a small frown. The day had been an adventure enough. First meeting Jack and appearing in his bathroom with him only in his boxers, then deciding to walk home (and what a long walk that was!) and meeting Shade. Without knowing it. That was enough for her. “How about some pizza for dinner? I’m sure you’ve had it people. Very few people that I’ve meet –didn’t- know what pizza was.”

Pizza…. Bav’s shoulders sunk as she realized her hunger. “Alright. We’ll just break for dinner, then rest because tomorrow, we’re going to need it! Bing things need to be done!” She said, then started for the kitchen. Trin wasn’t far behind, making a small chuckle at her feien. For someone so small, she was very bossy.

Avion Calling
Players: Trin, Bav, Jack, Bruns, Shade, Callisto
-----------------------------------------------------

"Why couldn't we take a cab or something?" whined the little voice in Jack Bierce's ear, its owner neatly hidden by the collar of a tattered leather jacket.

Jack snickered, careful to keep it low and hidden. "Why should you care, lad?" he murmured under his breath. "You've got a ride no matter what."

"But it's totally wrong. It's... Unnatural. What kind of freak are you that you don't drive?"

Pausing at the bottom of a garden, Jack squinted at a mailbox to check the number. "The kind you're stuck with," he replied, completely unperturbed. "I just don't fancy cars an' they don't fancy me right back. You wanna get here in one piece, right? Stop your whinging."

Brunswick huffed, peevishly giving it enough force that he knew Jack would feel dampness on the back of his neck. When his bond didn't respond to the taunt, he closed his eyes and curled up tighter against the coat collar. "Fine, then. Wake me when we're there."

"Right, then." Jack set to walking again, this time up the walkway to the house. Just before he pressed the button for the doorbell, he beamed innocently, unseen by his feien. "We're heeeere."

There was a muffled sound from somewhere below the earth. The kind of muffled sound that was made as if something below had exploded. It was then followed by a cough and a slightly choking voice from an intercom that was just over the doorbell. ?I?ll be there in a moment, just... hold on, please.? It said before cutting off again.

Brunswick immediately forgot his plan to once more pinch Jack's ear to redness in punishment at the noise and the voice. He crept out from behind the collar to stand on Jack's shoulder, eyes wide. "That's... That was an explosion," he whispered, awed.

"Mmhm," agreed his bond. "Somethin' kinda big, too, by the sound o' it. I hope Trin's alright."

Trin made it to the front door finally, slightly smoky from one of the guns she and Bavaria were installing having gone off. Luckily it hit the wall and not them.

?I told you we shouldn?t have done that today! Now look what happened!? The little feien berated her bond as she flew to the side.

?You?re the one so insistant on those things?? TB muttered back before standing on her tip toes to see who it is. It wasn?t Shade (why an assassin would ring a door bell anyway was only for her mind to know). She then relaxed and opened the door for them. ?Hey guys! You caught me a bit by surprise.?

?And the doorbell sound in the shop was ten times too loud!? Bav complained, still in the air with her arms crossed in an angry manner.

Pushing off Jack's shoulder, Brunswick launched himself at Bavaria, catching her around the waist in a bear hug. "You're okay!" he announced. "Except for being bloody stupid. Can't be helped. Show me around?"

Jack shook his head, rolling his dark eyes at Trinityblue in amused resignation to their feien's ways. Then he reached into the deep pocket of his jacket and pulled out a little paper bag and an amazingly-uncrushed handful of daisies. With a little teasing bow, he presented both to her. "Well, you did say we could stop on by, right?"

Trin blinked at the flowers and the bag in a bit of confusion before taking them. Then she smiled pleasantly. ?Yeah, I did. I just? had the sound in my shop up way too loud. So, you did surprise me.? She told him. ?You didn?t have to bring anything you know? It kinda makes me feel guilty for not bring you anything.?

Bavaria smirked and returned the quick hug. ?Of course I?m okay! Now come on. My room?s this way!? She said and took off flying down the hall and to Trin?s room. The only part in the house that was a cluttered mess. The shop wasn?t part of the house, really, so that didn?t count.

On a bedside table, near a window, was an obviously modified computer case. It was black with plastic windows on the side. There was a small, metal door and porch mounted on the side. The plastic window had what appeared to be curtains on the side so one couldn?t see in.

?Welcome to the room.? Bav told her brother as she landed on the porch. ?I put a lot of time into this.?

Brunswick whistled long and low as he landed beside his sister and eyed her home. "This is pretty nice," he said. "Good and private, even." He touched a hand to the wall and then the porch they stood on. "Did you do this up yourself?"

Back at the door, though, Jack was far less respectful and simply laughed kindly, shrugging as he stepped through the door. "My mum would kill me if I didn't," he explained. "She's big on manners an' all. Prob'ly 'cause my da's not. Anyway, you looked like flowers an' cookies, somehow."

Again, TB flushed. ?Cookies I do love and flowers are nice.? She said and then turned to head for the kitchen to put the flowers into some water. ?Can I get you anything? Tea??

?Yep. The porch was a bit tricky. I have a table and some chairs on the inside. Not done with it all yet, though.? Bav said proudly and opened the door for her brother, letting him in. Inside, there were two hanging keychain flashlights hanging from some string at the top of the case. Below and to the right was the plush beaver that she used for a bed. On the left was the aforementioned table and chairs. Both were made out of plastic with a cloth over the table acting like a table cloth and the seats of the chairs were soft, thanks the cotton between the cloth and the plastic of the seat. The cloth was formed into the plastic, making it hold there.

"-Excellent-." Brunswick fluttered down to stand on the floor of his sister's new home and looked around with appreciation. "You're getting really, really good at that forming stuff, BeeVee. And Trinityblue lets you snag stuff from her lab?"

Almost puppy-like, Jack followed his hostess into her kitchen. His brown eyes were teasingly hopeful and pleading. "Tea? Do I haveta renew the proposal?"

"Course not!" Trin laughed, placing the flowers in some water before getting her kettle out. Once she learned what people liked, she tried repeating things. In Jack?s case, he liked tea, so she was going to get him some. ?I just hope it won?t be horrible for you, since I?m not from England, I might not make it the same.?

?Actually all of these things came from this computer room she has. Full of junk! She didn?t mind a bit.? Actually Trinity had no idea where the thing Bav had used came from and she wasn?t about to mention all the breaks she had to take in order to finish it. Then there were the failed objects as well.

Yeah, Brunswick didn?t need to know that.

Her brother nodded, sweetly oblivious to her little "secrets". Then he padded over and crouched down to inspect one of the chairs. Next, he pushed down on the seat speculatively, head tilted. "Strong," he finally announced. "You keep this up and I'll have to find my own talents so you don't lump me in with deadweight." His grin showed perfect humor; he was relaxed. All was right in the world. His sister was safe and they had ditched the bonds for a bit.

"Tea's tea," Jack answered gallantly. "Hot, sweet, and milky, pet. Ta muchly." He slid into a seat and watched her move about, head tilted a bit. With her back to him, he could safely study her without forcing her into more blushes; she seemed on the shy side of things. It was a treat, really, a nod in the direction of his own curiousity and incessant male-ness but he never wanted her squirming so... Take what you get, pretty much.

Trin busied around the kitchen, setting out cups for the tea along with milk, some sugar and the bags of tea. It didn?t take long for the whistle on the kettle to go off, signaling that it was ready. She also brought that to the table. ?So, was the trip here good?? She asked her guest.

Bav gave a small snort at that comment. ?You wanna see the shop? One of the guns in the hall went off when the door bell rang.? She said as she watched him inspect everything.

"Yeah, sure!" Brunswick immediately flew up to the door and out, standing on the porch impatiently. "Are you really putting in guns?"

Reaching out, Jack pulled mug and accessories towards him and began to absently fix his tea in preparation for the hot water. "Not bad. The bus brought us most of the way an' it was just a bit o' a walk from there." Focused, he measured out sugar before offering up his mug for the kettle. Then he smiled and his face went from faintly broody to downright handsome. "You really do live in a bit o' nowhere," he added.

?You should talk, Jack. I walked all the way from your house back to mine. I wasn?t about to try another teleportation spell.? Trin said, smirking lightly as she fixed her tea after him. It was very interesting how a smile could so drastically change his face, and in a good way. The broody look worried her slightly, and made her wonder what was bothering him.

Course, she wasn?t about to mention who she ran into on the way through the park. Oh no, that was a close enough call as it was.

Bavaria followed her brother out, shutting the door with her foot before heading back down the hall. ?Yep! See, they?re going to come down and aim at people that the computer doesn?t know. That way, if Shade comes he?s going to have a ? ?nice? welcome.? There was a wicked grin on her face about that as well.

"Um, just make sure they know who Jack and me are, okay? BeeVee?" Brunswick followed her, eyebrows raised as images of swiss cheese Jack entered his mind.

Jack laughed lowly and picked up a spoon to stir his tea. "Right, then," he said. "Show me up for my lack o' chivalry. I'd've offered you a ride 'cept I don't have a car an' can't drive. I should've given you a bus schedule or somethin' at least, huh?"

?Oh that?s fine. I should have prepared some kind of alternate plan to get home anyway.? Trin said and took a sip of her tea. ?Come to think of it? I don?t even have a car. The places I need to get to are within walking distance anyway.? By her voice, one would be lead to believe that this was the first time she had thought of it. In fact it was.

?Of course! I can?t let it shoot up my brother of his bond! I?ll have the others added also.? Bav said with a little laugh before flying into the kitchen and landing right in front of her bond. ?I want to show Bruns the shop.? She demanded, crossing her arms in her serious manner.

Trin simply blinked down at her.

Jack grinned at the imperious little feien and carefully set his spoon down on the table. "She always so bossy, luv?" he asked. Deliberately, he ignored the immediate face which his own feien made at him for his words.
?Always.? Trin answered and tried not to laugh at the face her hope feien gave him. But he was quickly dismissed as she turned back to face her own bond.

?I want to show Bruns the shop and all the stuff I?ve been telling him about! Besides, I?m sure Spiffy,? Bav thumbed over at Jack, ?Over there would like to see it to, and the future security.?

?Yes, but??

?Just don?t let him touch anything and nothing else should blow up! Right?? Varia now turned to Jack, having already heard that he wasn?t that great with technology. Besides, she wanted to show off what a cool bond she had even more.

Jack rolled his eyes. "Bruns, you've gotta big mouth on you," he sighed. Nonetheless, he deliberately tucked his right hand into the pocket of his coat and picked up his mug in his left. Then he looked at Trin, innocence writ large over his face. "Is it okay with you?"

"Of course it is!" Brunswick was practically dancing from one foot to the other, an excitement that he would only let his siblings see (otherwise, it would be deemed uncool) and, apparantly, bonds. "C'mon, Jack. Just keep your hands to yourself, okay?"

Jack sighed internally and stepped back to let Trinityblue pass by. Some day, Bruns might just learn what a double entendre was. Some day.

Trin gave a defeated sigh and stood as well, leaving her cup on the table forgotten as she headed out the door. And back down the hall. ?You?ll have to forgive the entrance. It wasn?t really designed for more than two people and it?s rather? unusual.?

?That?s an understatement.? Bav muttered as she took a place on Trin?s shoulder. Obviously she was used to Bruns? dance.

Her bond placed a hand on the shop entrance and opened the door to a smallish closet. ?It?s though here. Just step in.? TB told him and waited. Oh this was going to be fun.

He had expected stairs. Honestly, he had.

Jack blinked a bit as he stopped just outside the door of the elevator-slash-closet. He hardly heard Brunswick snicker as his hope feien seemingly assessed the situation as well and fluttered over to settle himself on Trin's other shoulder. Instead, he merely smiled and proceeded to drain his mug. "I don't reckon you'd fancy this down your front, pet," he murmured in answer. Then he looked around for somewhere to sit it. Before lowering it to the convenient table, though, he glanced at Trin and raised an eyebrow questioningly. Getting no feminine shriek of outrage, he settled it there and pulled his other hand from his pocket.

Then, gingerly, he edged his way into the confined space with the pretty woman. For a moment, his hand rested on the shoulder that carried Bavaria but then it was gone again, awkwardly placed against the wall behind her in an attempt to avoid over-familiarity. "Tight fit," was all Jack said in response of the situation. Then he grinned.

Trin tried not to choke on a laugh as she followed him into the closet and wrapped her tail around her to avoid it getting in the way, some how. His small fleeting touch didn?t even bother her, given her mind was otherwise occupied. ?No, that would have been very quiet hot.? She answered. ?And sorry again, but it?s not like I lived with someone big who?d need to get into the shop.?

Bav however glared at the hand since it came close to squishing her and again crossed her arms. That didn?t last long as her bond closed them into darkness then hand to reach across Jack to hit the button that would take them down. Once done, she pulled back the arm quietly and the room took on the feeling of going down.

?So, kinda dark in here, ain?t it?? Bavaria mentioned with a hint of a smirk in her voice. It was also too quiet for her liking.

"Yep," Jack replied lightly. Absently, he flexed the hand that rested against the wall behind Trin's head. "Dark an' tight, pet. But the company's more enjoyable than a coffin, hm? You okay, Bruns?"

"Oh, I'm just peachy." There was a decided snicker in Brunswick's voice. "How're you? Doin' okay there, Jack? Not trying anything funny with Miss Trinityblue, are you?"

"You fishin' for a joke again, lad? Right, then. How many Englishmen does it take to ground a wee little fairy?"

At that, Trinity couldn?t help it any longer and started to laugh.

?Hey hey! I think that?s a rather fair question! It is dark in here and it?s not like we can hear you doing anything.? Bav said already sticking up for her brother. And this guy deserved to be yelled at. He nearly squished her!

But the closet-vator didn?t give him much of a chance to answer before it stopped and Trin automatically opened the door. ?There, see? Light. Now you can see what?s going on.?

"And you can see my innocence." Jack was indeed in such a position that, despite the small space, not even a nun could have accused him of taking advantage. His grin, on the other hand, would have gotten him the ruler.

Brunswick snorted and remained on Trin's shoulder as if it was his right just as much as his sister's. "Ignore him," he muttered. "He's just doing it for attention."

Trin was still snickering as she stepped out of the elevator and into the hall. On the left wall there was a big black scorch mark with opposite that a gun half mounted in the wall. ?Er, the site of our little accident.? She offered and walked past it to a panel on the wall. She started to type on it.

?I?m making her set up a much better security system for when Shade comes to off us.? Bav said bluntly, then was almost jerked off her perch as Trin flinched.

?Varia-!?

?What?! I?m sure he knows! I told Bruns!? Bav said in her own defense and took off from the shoulder she was on.

Trin didn?t dare turn around and a droop seemed to wash down her, from her shoulders to her tail.

There was a long moment of silence with neither bond moving. Even Brunswick kept his mouth closed and frowned up at Trin as if waiting. The light in his eyes, though, was defiant. Finally, Jack nodded slightly and reached forward to touch the back of the girl's neck, signalling her to turn around. "He told me," he said gently. "I reckon you didn't 'cause o' some idea 'bout protectin' everyone else? Trin, luv, who's goin' t' protect -you-?"

A small, barely audible laugh escaped Trin as she finally did turn, but she couldn?t look at him. There was a small smile on her face that made Bav feel a bit guilty for saying it as she had. Her bond didn?t realize that Bruns would have told his bond?

?I?ve pretty much have been looked after my whole life. Protected. I?m also not afraid of dieing, but?? The Teiru hesitated a moment and held up a hand for her feien to land on. When Bav did, still with arms crossed, her other hand came up and lightly rubbed the feien?s head. ?Now Varia?s involved, and she doesn?t deserve that at all. Nor do I for that matter. All I ever did was make things for less, and the big business people want me dead for it.? And to top it off, she was probably going to out live those companies as well.

Jack's face reflected disbelief, a very rare expression indeed. "And that's why that b*****d's out t' kill you?" he asked, not quite believing that industrial espionage could so blithely turn into industrial homocide. "Because you know how t' bloody budget?"

Now she looked up at him, having a very similar look on her face. Her dull-bright eyes held confusion and sorrow at the same time. ?Yeah, it is. That and they want to sell them for way more than what I charge, so they can make big profits. I still don?t understand it myself. It?s senseless, to me.?

Jack lifted a hand as if to reach for her but stopped, frowning. With a jerk, he motioned for Brunswick to come to his shoulder. The feien shook his head and Jack scowled more. Then he shook his head. "Arseholes," he muttered under his breath. "This is ridiculous. Madness." He lifted both hands to rake them through his hair and then his keen, dark eyes were fixed on Trin's face. "So what now?"

?Now? I set up security, maybe relearn some shield spells, and if those don?t work, I?ll just have to hope I can talk him out of it, especially if he still loves Ice.? Trin answered even as she started to straighten in her posture. It was a silly plan really, but it was the only plan she had and it made her feel a bit better.

Bav shifted lightly in her hand, feeling uncomfortable with this whole topic. Her bond as an idiot. How did you calk an assassin out of a job?? She then took off from the hand and returned to the shoulder.

?So? you want to see the shop now?? TB Then asked even as she looked Jack more in the eye. Truly she didn?t want to involve any more people.

Jack, however, was not to be dissuaded. "An' if it comes t' him or you, luv?" he asked lowly and there was something dark and unspoken in his tone, a flicker of bone-chilling power.

Brunswick looked up at his bond a bit startled; he knew Jack pretty well, he thought, but he had never heard him use that voice before. Gingerly, he shifted to balance on the very edge of Trin's shoulder as he studied the magician.

Just as suddenly, though, the feeling was gone and Jack's eyes were lowered, his hand busily digging in his coat pocket. "Bruns would miss his sister," he murmured lightly.

The sound of his voice also startled to the females in the room. Trin?s tail gave a very visible twitch, a movement that also helped relieve her bent up distress on the whole matter. Slowly she started to relax and gave Jack a small, smoothing smile. ?I cannot promise what I cannot guarantee. But I can promise you I?m going to do all that I can to live. I'm both too young, and there are people who?d want to bring me back just to beat me up for dieing, anyway.? She told him and lightly placed a hand on his shoulder.

?Besides, I don?t want to separate Varia from her brothers and sister.? She then added, getting a look from her feien for the use of the nick name, though Bav said nothing.

Jack's hand came up to hold Trin's to his shoulder for a moment more and he raised his head to meet her eyes. He searched for something for a moment and then, slowly nodded, squeezing her hand tightly. A slow smile grew on his face. "Right, then. Just checkin'." Suddenly, he leaned in to drop a feathery kiss on her cheek before releasing her hand and stepping back, finally pulling his hand from his pocket. A crumpled pack of cigarettes was in his hand. "Good lass."

Sagging a bit in relief, Brunswick snorted. "Jerk," he muttered under his breath but there was a touch of relaxing in his tone. He wasn't sure he wanted to hear Jack like that again.
Bav decided it was time to help increase this relaxing moment and gave a wolf-whistle from the little kiss jack had given her bond. Rather she was happy about it or not was a different matter all together.

Trin flushed lightly and shook her head. She was slowly developing a mental file on Jack and his ways. She did this with all people she knew she?d be dealing with. Then he pulled out the pack of smokes. ?Um? you mind having the smoke outside? There?s enough smoke in the shop as it is.? She asked him sheepishly, even if it was her house. Besides, there was nothing to use as an ash tray in her house.

"Huh?" Jack looked down at the smokes in his hand and laughed sheepishly. "Oh, hell. Sorry, luv. It's a habit, dirty one at that. I don't even realize I'm doin' it. 'Course I won't smoke down here."

Brunswick huffed impatiently and pivoted on Trin's shoulder to peer around the bits of the shop he could see. It looked fascinating. Trust Jack to mess it up.

?Sorry kiddo, you?re just going to have to see this another time.? Trin said at the huffs she received in each ear from both feiens. Her hands went up to lightly pet them as she headed for the elevator once more. ?And don?t worry about it. I?ll catch you and kick you outside to do that if you?re here.? She then grinned over her shoulder at him and waited for the British man to join her.

"I don't mean t' interrupt the tour," Jack murmured guiltily as he slipped his lanky frame into the tiny closet with her. Once more, he set his hands against the wall, over her shoulders and behind her, one on either side of her head; if the elevator jerked, there was no way he'd fall against her in that position. One hand still held the cigarettes. "I'm sorry. I can wait, y'know. I'm not hopeless."

"Yeah, you are." Miffed, Brunswick left Trin's shoulder and deliberately settled himself on the back of Jack's neck, little heels drumming impatiently.

"I'd rather you stayed--" Shade said as he looked over the house for a moment, checking out the various exits with an expert eye.

"I'm not staying in the hotel." Callisto said coldly. For one she didn't trust Silva not to show up the moment Shade was gone. For another, she had to know for sure.

"But Calli, this isn't something you'll... enjoy watching." He said, his shoulders slumping slightly even as he headed up the steps and eyed the lock of the door for a moment. "It can get... messy, you know?"

"So you are one." She said coldly.

"I didn't tell you?" He asked, pausing. "Sorry 'bout that." He reached up and rang the doorbell, looking patient.

?I have to agree with Bruns. You don?t look like you can wait too long.? Trin teased him after hitting the button and smiled in the dark and knowing he couldn?t see her. Halfway up, the doorbell rang in the closet, causing the Teiru to blink slightly. ?Huh, wonder if Ice is visiting?? She muttered.

?Excuse me a moment.? She told him as soon as the closet was at ground flood and scooted out from around Jack, going for the front door. Two visitors in one day was something. But when she made it to the door and opened it, she wished she hadn?t. Both bond and feien were frozen for a moment.

?U-um, y-yes?? Can I help you?? Trin asked weakly.

Before the man at the door could respond, Jack had already reappeared and there was a cigarette tucked neatly in his mouth and a lighter was already flickering to life in his hand. Brunswick had been right; Jack was far more addicted than he thought. "Hey, luv, did you fancy..?" He trailed off as his eyes raised with the lighting of the cigarette and he blinked at Shade. A string of silent curses rattled through his brain, neatly describing his sudden switch of mood in a half dozen different languages (two of which were, technically, dead). He heard a gasp in his ear but knew it to be Brunswick. Gears turned quickly and then, suddenly, Jack smiled broadly as he stepped forward, course decided.

It might be a half-assed way of detering the inevitable but it was worth a shot (provided Trin didn't shoot -him- for it). Anything to keep bond and feien alive... Brunswick's subsequent bitching would be only one of the things that kept him up at night should Shade complete his job.

To the sound of another gasp in his ear, Jack neatly slipped his arm around Trin's shoulders possessively as his free hand palmed his lighter and drew the smoking cigarette from his mouth. "Hey, mate," he beamed. "You stalkin' me now? Sweetheart, this is the bloke I told you about. One I met at the HQ an' all."

Shade raised an eyebrow, looking over the pair casually for a moment. "It really is a small world, huh?" He asked, grinning slightly. "Nice to see you again, Jack! But I think I've got the wrong house... Do either of you know someone named Trinityblue?"

"Shade--" Callisto whispered in his ear. "What if--" She stopped, her red eyes focused on TB, a frown pulling at her full lips.

"Naaah. You're not Trinityblue, are you, lady?" He asked.

?W-who?? Trin asked in what she hoped was an innocent tone. She then looked up at Jack and slipped her arm behind him, gripping the back of his shirt. ?I?ve actually met him in the park when I was returning from your place, hun.? She answered, fully going with this ploy that he had started.

Bavaria was forcing herself not to react to the odd acting of the two bonds. Rather, she gripped Trin?s shirt in hopes of not falling off from shock.

?My name is Cathy. I didn?t get to introduce myself earlier.? TB then continued.

Moving as if long-acustomed to absent touches, Jack squeezed Trin's shoulder and his grin flickered with amusement. Thanks, da, for the ability to lie, he thought. "Small world, then." He tipped his head to nod politely at Callisto. "An' hello t' you, too, gorgeous. Has he gotten you a hairbrush yet?"

In desperation, Brunswick buried his face in the back of Jack's hair. He had never before felt so caught between hilarity and terror.

"Finally." Callisto said, making a face.

"We've spent the last day and a half either working or hitting the toy stores." Shade said, shaking his head in irritation. "Mind if I come in? I figure we might as well look around. See, the Gaia directory said that this was where Trinityblue lived."

He looked at the girl again, thoughtfully. "You ever meet Trinityblue?"

?Um? well, I might have when I bought the house. I?m not really that great with names. Jack can tell you that.? Trin said, reluctantly moving to the side so he could enter. It was a stupid move, and she knew it. But if she wasn?t polite, then he might suspect more.

The hand on Jack?s shirt didn?t move a bit. She needed something to grip so she wouldn?t lose her nerve and run away.

Bav was once more silent throughout all of this. Her tongue had suddenly vanished somehow. Even the idea of how stupid her bond was for letting it in wasn't registering.

"Sorry, mate." Jack shook his head, carefully flicking ash from his cigarette out the door. His hand left Trin's shoulder at the motion, trailing down her back and then along the arm and hand that had a death grip on his shirt beneath the jacket. "I ain't been here long myself. Actually, I met Cath through the estate people. I looked at this place first off but she'd already made an offer." He twined his fingers in hers and squeezed reassuringly. "Little wretch," he added with an affectionate smile at his "girlfriend". "An' now she expects me t' take her out shoppin'." He gestured expansively with his cigarette, still keeping it just outside the door in the manner of a boyfriend thoroughly scolded. "I reckon she should break down an' let me get her a couple ashtrays, right?"

"Prob'ly shouldn't." Shade said casually. "Smoking can kill you." He walked past them into the house, as if ignorant of how ironic that statement was. "I was kinda hoping to get this over with, you know? But if this Trinityblue fella wants to run, I s'pose I could take a few more years. The boss won't like it, of course, but hell, we've got time..."

Callisto was oddly silent. How calm he was about the subject unnerved her. But Shade headed for the front room as if it were his right, casually looking over the room before he headed for the fireplace and picked up a framed picture there.

Callisto gasped.

Trin almost twitched at the way he was just making himself comfortable in her home, but she followed, keeping hold on Jack. Even if he was smoking. She then looked up at him with her best serious look. ?He has a point, ya know.? That was followed by a half smile, the best she could offer right now.

Wait, he thought Trinityblue was a? guy??

Then he took the picture of her and her sister on the mantel. TB let go of the hand to walk over more. ?Um, is there a problem?? She asked him with a little frown.

With a sudden twitch of his shoulders, Jack sent Brunswick tumbling. The look on Trin's face gave away what the picture might be more than anything he could see himself. He knew a distraction might be right just about now and, lo, there was Brunswick.

With a hissed curse, the little hope feien caught himself mid-fall and flapped his wings angrily. Somehow the indignation of his rough treatment momentarily overode the other concerns and Brunswick flew as far from Jack as he could manage. The few seconds' distance calmed him enough that he met Jack's eyes, registered the nod, and promptly landed himself on the picture in Shade's hands. Putting on his best smile, he waved at Callisto and then cut a passable bow. "Hello, beautiful!"

Shade casually reached up to brush the juvenile feien aside before he turned to look at TB. "Your name isn't Cathy, is it?" He asked. "Damn me, but I should have seen this coming..."

He put the picture back into its place, scowling darkly as he started to think. Callisto looked over at Bruns, then shoved off of Shade's shoulder to go to the boy and make certain he wasn't hurt.

At seeing the other feien move towards her brother, Bav shot up into the air, going to his side in the same moment. She still didn?t know what to make of Callisto, but she wasn?t about to leave her brother alone.

Trin, on the other hand, blinked having been caught off guard by that statement. ?What do you mean by that?? She asked, trying to sound miffed but failed at it. Her tail gave a nervous twitch as well and she glanced back at Jack.

Jack didn't say a word, merely kept his brown eyes locked on Shade and his hand tangled up in Trin's. After a moment, he gave a one shouldered shrug, moved the smoking cigarette in a vague swirling motion in the vicinity of his head, and then, to the wincing sympathy of a few of the others, he flipped the cigarette around, lit end facing his palm, and closed his hand around it. A small stream of smoke dribbled out and then it was dead. "Seen what comin', mate?" he asked conversationally. "Bruns? Don't mind him. He's a pain in the neck."

Brunswick grimaced in response to both the words and his failed attempt at distraction. Then he sat, drawing his knees up, wrapping his arms around them, and scowled hard. He hated being little.

"Are you okay, Brunswick?" Callisto asked, looking worried. "He didn't mean to hurt you..."

"I wondered why Ice got so pissed when I said I was looking to kill Trinityblue." Shade said conversationally. "Hell, even got jealous. Figured it had to be her lover, or something. But last I remember she didn't go for girls. So you're what... best friends?" He asked, looking her over for a moment. "You live a hell of a lot longer than a human, don't you?"

But a flicker of relief was spreading through him. At least it wasn't Ice's lover!

The game was up, Trin knew it was with that statement. With a resigned sigh, she placed her free hand on her hip having forgotten how she was still holding on to Jack for support. That hand didn?t move. ?If you still love Ice, I suggest you just give up your job.? Her tone had taken a diffident change. It was no longer scared, worried or sad, only defiant and just a wee bit mad.

Bav was mad though and placed a hand on her brother?s shoulder, squeezing it lightly as she looked up at Callisto. ?He?s fine. Didn?t even hit the ground.? She said with her own anger in her voice.

Brunswick lifted his head and the look he gave Callisto was half defiantly angry and half uncertainly sad. "Yeah," he muttered. "I'm fine." Reaching up to pat Bavaria's hand, he released his grip on his knees and stood, fussily smoothing back his hair. Then he met Callisto's eyes again and this time there was nothing but bluntness to the gaze. "Unless your bond there kills Trinityblue," he growled. "Then my sister here dies."

Letting Trin squeezed his hand all she liked, Jack fell silent again as he watched Shade closely. Already, the burn to the palm of his other hand had begun knitting over itself; the pain had been more for effect than anything, really. Now, though, his fingers tingled with something else entirely.

"You think?" Shade asked. "Forget it, right now I've got a bigger problem. I don't suppose you have three hundred k stashed around here, do you? Because I've already blown my downpayment..."

Then he shook his head. "Nah, that won't work. If I tell them I won't do the job they'll just send someone else... s**t!" There was no question in his mind. He couldn't kill Ice's best friend. It would put him OUT of the dog house he was already in and clear to the curb! "We just haveta make it LOOK like you're dead. And you gotta lay low for... oh, fifty, sixty years."

Trin blinked at this, now that he threw her for a new loop. ?You?re kidding me? Just that easy?? We can fake my death and boom, you won?t have to kill me?? That was a deep disbelief in her voice and the grip on Jack?s hand lessened. At the same time she was relieved. ?And actually, I?m her sister. Adopted.? She clarified. Plus 50 or 60 years wouldn?t be that bad. She hoped.

?So, how do you want to do that??

Bav felt a great relief wash over her, one that Callisto could have seen if she was looking. ?So I?m not going to die? Good!?

Brunswick's hand closed hard on his sister's and he ventured a smile at both Callisto and Shade. His bond, on the other hand, did not quite release his stoney look but Jack -did- slip his free hand back into his pocket easily and his shoulders slumped a bit, melting him back into his usual posture. Despite the still calculating look in his eyes, the Brit was clearly relieved that Shade wasn't about to start something. Whether it was for the love of Ice or some sudden epiphany of moral rectitude, it didn't matter. So long as Trin and Bavaria remained safe.

"The easiest way is to find someone to take your place." Shade said thoughtfully. "Preferrably a female. We'll bag her heart and take it back to Kori."

"SHADE!" Callisto shouted, looking up from Bruns in outrage. "You do not kill random strangers!"

"Yes I do. Do it all the time." He said with a shrug. "Of course I usually have their names, but in this case--"
