"Humans have done stranger things then walk around with sauce on their feet."
Iolite stared down back for a minute before looking at Evan. "Don't you dare drop the bag. I swear I will bite you if you do." She said, bopping the pads of her paw against his nose. "Seriously. Don't. Cause even if you don't and I miss, this is going to suck." Iolite reached a tentative paw down Evan's body, proding it as if testing its stability. Then with a quiet huff, let her self drop from his shoulder and haphazardly onto the bag.
How graceful.
"There. Now can you balance?" She asked, rearranging herself in the bag. The cats ears flattened against her head as he spoke of this 'Zack'. "Let me worry about this... Zack. Should he however find me, let him try to get rid of me.. You can even warn him and tell him a stubborn b***h to get rid of. You would know after all."

"…I can balance better," Evan said, though didn't sound the slightest bit more confident now that she was in his bag. He moved so that he had a better grip on it, thoroughly concerned that she would be out for blood if he dropped her. He tentatively put weight on his ankle and, while disappointed to find that it was sore, he could walk on it. He began walking, slowly at first, and gradually picking up speed. He ignored the complaints from his ankle.
"You don't know Zack at all," he said, wondering if it would be worse for people to think he was talking to himself or the cat he so carefully carried in his bag. "He's very stubborn. He might chase you out with a vacuum cleaner." In fact, he was almost certain that Zack would have nothing of the guest, and a feeling of dread began to fester in the pit of his stomach. Zack would never settle for this.
Each step became more hesitant than the last, and it was only his need to be out of the night that drove him to keep walking at all.
"…Why are you coming home with me?"

"Better is... better then nothing." She said. The cat tried not to move around too much in the bag, lest her carrier fall over. "Of course I don't. Besides, isn't that something one would do to a dog?" Came the cat, as she sniffed at the things in the bag. "Seriously, just leave him to me. I can handle myself well enough."
"I'm bored. You're a rather strange human. I might be curious if he'd actually try to chase me with a vaccum. There are a host of answers. You can take your pick of which ever amuses you the most. I do have a place I use as a resting point, if that's what you're curious about. However it's not around here." Iolite shrugged, poking her head back out of the bag. "You're scared. About him. What he might do, aren't you?"

"No," Evan said, a fast and even, practiced answer. He seemed like he was going to keep it at just that; it wasn't a topic he thought particularly necessary to expand on, though perhaps to assure that there was certainly nothing to be concerned about, he redirected the conversation. "I'm not going to be anything more interesting once we get there, you know. I'm just saying, I don't think you'll find anything of interest. I guess I've got some leftovers if you…eat that. But it's human food."
And she was a cat that wasn't a cat, and he didn't know what to do with her.
He could only hope that Zack was out and not at all interested in whatever it was that Evan was doing. He didn't have a room of his own so it was difficult to keep secrets of any sort, and if Zack was social and sober it was a recipe for disaster.

"...You're a lying little s**t. But, I'll drop the issue." She mumbled. "If I get bored while I'm there. I'll leave. Hell, maybe I'll be out of the bag by the time you get there. You never know." Iolite waved a paw in the air dismissively. "Dump me on a street somewhere if you're that worried about it."
"If he tries anything though, I'm letting you know now that I am making no such promise to not harm him. I will however, try to avoid scratching or biting you in the process." Okay, so maaaaaaybe this kid wasn't as horrible as she'd made him out to be. Perhaps he was worth checking in on every now and then.
Not that she'd tell him that.
