Seqi had been sitting a short distance away, not saying or doing much of anything while she waited for Raskogr to finish up with the runes. Her mind had wandered a bit, but nothing particularly interesting had caught her attention, though she'd devoted about a minute to wondering why her mother had arranged for her to spend time with this dummy in particular.
"I'm ready," she said, trying to make her voice sound noble and tragic, like in the sagas.
She walked slowly toward their altar, taking exaggeratedly careful strides which were supposed to be elegant and regal, aware of her tragic fate, but accepting it. When she reached the altar she gave a quick nod to let Raskogr know his runes were satisfactory before doing her best to climb onto it with grace. She was forced to hop, which was not graceful, but otherwise she was content with how things were playing out.
As she lay down on the somewhat uncomfortable stone and closed her eyes Seqi thought to herself that this was going to be awesome.

At her reply Raskogr looked over, rolling his eyes as she paced passed him with a weird kind of walk. He almost asked what she thought she was doing, but knew that it would only delay the game and really, they were finally getting to the good part! He didn't want her to take any longer than she had to.
"Finally.." He muttered as she climbed up onto the stone and flopped down. "Wait, I need some kind of... ahha!" Having been frantically looking round he spotted a long skinny rock with a sharp edge on it. Trotting over he grabbed it up and returned to Seqineq on her rock. Leaning up against the side he showed her the sharp-edged rock. "To sacrifice you with!" He grinned, pleased. Clearing his throat he finally got into the spirit of the game, adopting a suitably grown-up and sombre pose, head up high as he held the sharp rock between his paws. "I, Warlord Raskogr.. "Giving her a sharp look in case she tried to interrupt, he continued. ".. do sacrifice this lion for the pride. Bring us many riches and much glory!" Lifting the sharp-edged rock he held it poised above her, enjoying the moment.
Suddenly a huge paw descended, grabbing him by the scruff and lifting him high over the rock and Seqineq who was still laying there. The sharp-edged rock he had been gripping went spinning away to land on the stones as his mother rumbled a low-spoken admonishment.
"No one is being sacrificed today." She said after setting him down, giving him a stern look before sniffing at Seqineq, making sure no harm had come to the cub that was to be her son's bride one day.
"But moooooom. " Raskogr whined, looking forlornly up at Seqineq with 'you better back me up' eyes. "We were just getting to the good part!"

Seqi rolled her eyes open as Raskogr presented her with the rock he planned to use, gave a tight nod, and squeezed them shut again. Her tummy tingled with excitement at the thrill of the last part of their game. It distracted her from the title he had given himself. Well, okay. It sounded better if she was sacrificed by a warlord anyway.
She sat up suddenly at the sound of Raskogr's rock clattering against the stones below. That wasn't how things were supposed to go. Fortunately, she didn't begin protesting as soon as her eyes snapped open, as the interruption hadn't come because of some clumsiness on the part of her playmate, but because of parental intrusion.
Of course.
Seqi looked back at her own mother, who looked every bit as disapproving as Raskogr's, although she wasn't nearly as close by. Apparently she trusted her daughter to get herself out of her own fixes. Or perhaps she didn't feel Seqi was at fault. Who knew with parents? What Seqi did know was that her mother was making that face that meant she had better Come Her Right Now.
She shrugged toward Raskogr and went over to her mum.

Soma arched a look at her son that had the little cub hunching down and shrinking backward. Rolling her eyes she sighed, lifting Seqi down so the little girl could return to her own mother. After bidding goodbye to the other lioness and the cub that would one day marry her son, she turned to Raskogr and sighed. Boys, they were far more trouble than girls...
Gathering her son she set off back to the den, this little conversation would require privacy.
